One of the coolest demos I ever saw for eurorack was someone using the kickall and pumping an FM radio station barely in tune through it, sounded amazing! Just for the extra experimenting options with it, kickall gets my vote
this video must have slipped under my radar..? ..watching it for the first time now.. I have one to add Professor that might be the best one under 6HP.. the Blue Lantern Asteroid BD.. I have two of version 4 and the latest version the Accented Asteroid BD.. my favorite over 6HP is without a doubt the Dijstar RiDrum TK-09 and TK-01..
Thanks for the demo! Someone complained that the Prok has a noticeable delay (like 10-30ms IIRC). Can anyone verify this with a measurement, e.g., by using an oscilloscope? I was interested in the Prok BD, but when I heard this I held off and ordered the Kickall instead.
Thanks, this helped a ton! I have the Pico Drums & the Kickall - got them early in my eurorack build. Ended up feeling much better when I used a dedicated Roland TR-8S drum machine to provide the foundation of beats and use my modular for bass, leads, sound design etc. But that's just me right now! Someday I'll throw a bunch of drum modules together and make an experimental percussion box That said, I'm working the Pico Drums back into my modular, but this time as a super-simple sampler for sound effects that I can use in the ambient & techno music I make. A super-simple sampler will be much more useful to me right now than a drum module, I think. The Kickall does sound amazing, but same problem - a little too specific in purpose for my small modular setup right now. I also found the incredibly low output level very frustrating - just added an additional layer of complication to getting a simple beat up and running But I'm a noob, and the great thing about modular is all the personalized choices and options :D side question, why do you wear gloves? Just to keep the synths clean?
I think I liked that Prok BD the most. The downsampling sounds great and blending those presets looks pretty useful.
yes, right? Has also the most straight forward sound and interface. I think I will give it a go, when I find one cheap on ebay.
Heckin based as heck

got a link to that? i'm curious
Link?
Also digging the Prok, great little module platform. Thanks for the vid!
I think for me the prok is the clear winner. Thank you!
You should do more on drum modules ! Thanks great work !
My boi Omri taught me that Kickall also makes for a FANTASTIC simple FM tone voice!
I would also add Pique into this lineup
excellent video thanks for the detailed demos

They're Befaco Bananuts. Thonk usually has them www.thonk.co.uk/shop/bananuts/, but so do folks worldwide if they're out.
Really useful video! Thanks for making!! Is there any additional processing on these sounds?
kickall is a pocket volca kick

"why do you wear gloves" It makes my hands less distracting, since they're on camera so much.
@John Schussler ah I see!! Thank you :)
@@JohnSchussler Friendly feedback: As someone else also pointed out, I think the gloves actually make the hands more distracting.
I have the Kickall and think it’s great but I’m also frustrated by the low output level. You have to amplify it, which makes it an expensive module.
@@bjondersson Always glad to hear that it's not just me lol
no offense, but the latex gloves are super distracting. creepy vibes.
agree

Hehe, it plays the drums or it gets the hose again… 😂 nice demos btw!
Guess you’re not into rectal exams.
