I thought it was 2 times 40 so 80 watts on ac then on battery it’s playing at at 2 times 30 so that means it’s playing at 60 watts so 60 battery and 80 ac and not 30 battery right
the new BOOMBOX 2 can be used in indoor mode also, you must hold two most left button for 10 seconds, and it will change, for high-frequency mode. it sounds louder and clear in low volume.
@@kramermorton3034 I thought that was going to be the case. I have the hyperboom and both the boombox 1 and 2. The Hyperboom has a great mid to upper bass but it just cant hit as low as the boombox 1 and 2. The boombox 2 gets crazy deep. There is this deep bass meditation song i like to play on my RSL speedwoofer. None if my Bluetooth speakers are capable of going low enough to produce that low frequency. the hyperboom cant play it at all. However the boombox 2 was able to play the deep bass tones surprisingly well which honestly shocked me. The boombox 1 barley played the deep bass tones. I compared the bass on all 3 speakers for about 3 hours and the boombox 2 defiantly beats the hyperboom in bass and clarity. whenever i would switch back to the hyperboom it was quieter and just not quite as impressive. those 4 inch woofers are putting in some work and to me are out preforming the 4.5 inch woofers in the hyperboom.
The boombox one and the boombox two are not compatible together. If you already own a boombox one and you’re looking to add the improved boombox to, please know you cannot use party mode linking the two together. This is important and you failed to mention that at 3:04. I learned the hard way after a half hour on the phone with JBL
Bro when in all your videos most devices show nearly the same peak volume, maybe you should think about that an iPad mic is not a precise meausurement tool, especially for loud low frequencies.
from an audiophile standpoint deeper bass from this physical footprint is not generally better, given the size it must have a balance sound so that if you put it on high volume theres no frequency drop off and will remain linear.
It uses a new system that allows 100 to connect! The thing that sucks is you can’t pair it to much of any other JBL speakers... if that answers anything
Perfect and thanks for the fast review! I own the first gen. Boombox and I love every minute of battery since the sound is already great which means less charging and having 2 charge ports is a big deal for me and or my hangouts.

@@DrownedFish yea im actually really happy with it tbh, it could be a little louder sometimes but it definitely is loud enough for most other people, I just have a loud job lol
i guess wait for boombox 3 with a bigger battery? really if im gonna be out all night listening at max volume i don't feel comfortable with less than 8 hours, especially on such a big speaker.. is it possible to use e.g. a 10000 mAh powerbank while playing music and keep the speaker running a bit longer..
Hi mate. I'been stock in choosing between JBL Boom Box and Marshall woburn II. Which one do you think have better performance in sound quality? Currently I have JBL Boom Box which has a great base, not as much natural as I expected but good, and of sound clarity and being crispy lovely. Do you think it's worth to swap from my JBL to Marshall? Does Marshall have deeper and more natural base in max volume? What about sound clarity?
The bb2 just isn't packed with enough upgrades man. Will wait for a more upgraded one. Bb1 and bb2 are too familiar. If you have several of the bb1 aswell for daisychaining purposes bb2 change is not worth it as jbl speakers cannot daisychain across different models
Rudolph Angel they only get damaged if you push them while playing music or too hard in to rip the rubber sealing it, so pushing them in once does damage it but over a long time the sound performance might go down.
Yeah it gets louder when charging its go Mega Ape when charged I have og boombox inside without power usually never take past 50 Netflix shows Rumble my room like a theater
I’m looking for a speaker that will be used as a dug out “walk up song” speaker for a 8U travel softball team. Would the original one be loud and good enough for that, or would I need to get the Boombox 2?
I dont get the point of buying the 2 because it's almost the same thing but one thing I will say in its defense is everyone keeps dissing it because its latency but why would you be using a 500 dollar speaker to watch UA-cam or Netflix? Just insight
Ngl I have no idea where this guy got the specs from for this video because neither of these speakers are rated as low as 20/30 watts. They’re way too large and expensive to be running such low numbers and both use dual 4 inch high excursion woofers so there’s no way they would be rated that low. I believe the old model puts out 40 watts on battery power and 60 on mains power and the new boombox is rated for 60 watts on battery power and 80 connected to mains respectively. No hate intended just some clarification for anyone looking to buy one of these 🙌🏼
I have the onyx studio 6 and it's the shit! especially because I can get two of them, that equals 100 watts! Mega deep bass, bright and clear treble from their tweeters, & $100 less than ONE of these Boombox 2's... HK for the win, SORRY JBL...
I was so ready to buy the Boombox 2, but they still use a mini-USB port for charging, so I will pass until they upgrade that. Also, they downgraded to one EQ? I don't see why anyone would spend an extra $100 for the slight upgrades and sometimes downgrades for the 2.
I feel like $50 for cooler plastic rim and 10W+ but 1h less battery is really not worth the upgrade.

I’ve tried out so many speaker boxes, and this one by far sounds the best.
Exactly the video I was looking everywhere for thanks so much on the clarification
the new BOOMBOX 2 can be used in indoor mode also, you must hold two most left button for 10 seconds, and it will change, for high-frequency mode. it sounds louder and clear in low volume.
Putting your jbl speaker into lfm(low frequency mode) can damage your speaker just letting you know.
I would wonder how battery life compares at equal decibel levels, i.e. maybe 100% volume on boombox 1 is the same as 80% volume on boombox 2
When the poll goes from 0% to 100% early
can you compare it to hyperboom i would like to knwo if its better then the boombox 2 or not becauase its 100 dolars cheaper
Hyperboom is better. Gets more bass and covers a wider soundstage.
ALEX LITTIG that’s really helpful. Do you still feel the same?
The boombox one and the boombox two are not compatible together. If you already own a boombox one and you’re looking to add the improved boombox to, please know you cannot use party mode linking the two together. This is important and you failed to mention that at 3:04. I learned the hard way after a half hour on the phone with JBL
I just picked this up on eBay for $78 plus shipping ,can't wait to try it out .
Was it fake
Bro when in all your videos most devices show nearly the same peak volume, maybe you should think about that an iPad mic is not a precise meausurement tool, especially for loud low frequencies.
Where did you buy? And did you buy at launch? Talking about the boombox 2
The old boombox is being sold for half of it's prise in the Netherlands now
Thank you for this review, I got my original JBL boombox on sale at Curry’s for £189. 00 , Some sites are selling fake boombox 2, be careful.
from an audiophile standpoint deeper bass from this physical footprint is not generally better, given the size it must have a balance sound so that if you put it on high volume theres no frequency drop off and will remain linear.
Boombox 2 vs hyperboom would be brilliant
If it was USBC like my flip 5 then I would def buy this or the old one.
I don't understand The part about pairing near the end, the original boombox allows you to pair up to 100 speakers as well.
It uses a new system that allows 100 to connect! The thing that sucks is you can’t pair it to much of any other JBL speakers... if that answers anything
this review is the best u=i have seen so far, keep it up man.
Did JBL discounted the jbl boombox original i want it but i see on the buy button and it says its not available
Perfect and thanks for the fast review! I own the first gen. Boombox and I love every minute of battery since the sound is already great which means less charging and having 2 charge ports is a big deal for me and or my hangouts.
Where did you buy? And did you buy at launch? Talking about the boombox 2 i can not find it at Target.
I have the original boombox and for me it lasts a lot longer on max volume, I work a 10 hour shift right now at ups and it easily lasts the entire shift and still has about 40 percent left
Really?
Boombox is a 60W speaker on battery and 80 on power not 20/30 watts like you said
I found boombox 2 on sale 179 euros, i was thinking to place it to sauna(floor). Should be worth it for this price? Thanks for the answers in advance!
How good it is when compared to Sonos Five? Considering it costs the same
How many watts is this speaker? It can be use for medium size parties???
What do you recommend to get? I have the old jbl xtreme and would like to pair it with something else
I've replied to you on one of your other comments
It will only connect to a not updated charge 3, pulse 2 and flip 3
The bb2 just isn't packed with enough upgrades man. Will wait for a more upgraded one. Bb1 and bb2 are too familiar. If you have several of the bb1 aswell for daisychaining purposes bb2 change is not worth it as jbl speakers cannot daisychain across different models
Nothing happens when you push in the radiators, I tested it out and nothing happens if you push them in
Rudolph Angel they only get damaged if you push them while playing music or too hard in to rip the rubber sealing it, so pushing them in once does damage it but over a long time the sound performance might go down.
Is it ok to use the speaker whilst it’s charging?
Yeah it gets louder when charging its go Mega Ape when charged I have og boombox inside without power usually never take past 50 Netflix shows Rumble my room like a theater
I bought my Boombox 1 this week for 259 euro , saves me a lot of money ...
@FG-Gamer where?
I’m thinking of getting the bombox 1 or 2 what should be the best speaker to get ?
Its presence means the original boombox will become cheaper. New ones PR's look like theyre glued onto the original.
Doesn't go deeper aswell like studio 5 deep?
What did you guys use to make the recording, a phone? Because it sounds like a band limited recording. It’s mono and it has limited highs and lows.
Just got this on offer for £249. I could have gone for the camo pattern, but that was £400...?!?
Thanks! Went and bought the boom box 2 and it rocks. My first big Bluetooth speaker. It was $100 off at Best Buy. Looking at a pulse next.
Nice vid man!
Keep the good job
I’m looking for a speaker that will be used as a dug out “walk up song” speaker for a 8U travel softball team. Would the original one be loud and good enough for that, or would I need to get the Boombox 2?
Definitely loud enough
original boombox is very loud
Each woofer is 40 watt pluggin and 30 watt on battery so it is 80 watt total for the woofers and 2x 40 watt for the tweeters
Best review from this speaker that I have seen! Thanks!
1:28 bruh do they really vibrate like that?
I dont get the point of buying the 2 because it's almost the same thing but one thing I will say in its defense is everyone keeps dissing it because its latency but why would you be using a 500 dollar speaker to watch UA-cam or Netflix? Just insight
So it doesn’t matter witch one I buy there both around 500 but the v2 just looks better sooooo I’ll buy the v2
So the new boombox have more bad battery life I am right? 10000mha the new one and the orginal have 20000mha I heard. Plzz tell me
no, they both have exactly the same battery. end of story.
@@XyZ-1991 thnxs
Ngl I have no idea where this guy got the specs from for this video because neither of these speakers are rated as low as 20/30 watts. They’re way too large and expensive to be running such low numbers and both use dual 4 inch high excursion woofers so there’s no way they would be rated that low. I believe the old model puts out 40 watts on battery power and 60 on mains power and the new boombox is rated for 60 watts on battery power and 80 connected to mains respectively. No hate intended just some clarification for anyone looking to buy one of these 🙌🏼
Great review...very informative and well done!
How many watts it have?
Compare boombox 2 to onyx studio 6?
I have the onyx studio 6 and it's the shit! especially because I can get two of them, that equals 100 watts! Mega deep bass, bright and clear treble from their tweeters, & $100 less than ONE of these Boombox 2's...
HK for the win, SORRY JBL...
can a power bank charge this subwoofer while on the beach to prolong the battery life?
Is this good for a garden party?
What size are the bass radiators?
can you power and charge these via USB, ie charge from you car 12v system ?
I wish I would have watched this before I bought the 2.0. I originally had the 1.0 and tbh it’s way better.
So you definitely like the first one over the second one?
how many decibels does the og boombox get to
I have pushed in my passive radiator before and nothing bad happened & it still sounded the same so your wrong, sorry
What type of music are you using to test that speaker?
Hello sir can you help me to know where can i buy that kind of original jbl boombox? I'm from philippines, thanks for your response
The original boombox can charge a device while having more battery life left
Can you connect to the JBL Partybox 710?
I was so ready to buy the Boombox 2, but they still use a mini-USB port for charging, so I will pass until they upgrade that. Also, they downgraded to one EQ? I don't see why anyone would spend an extra $100 for the slight upgrades and sometimes downgrades for the 2.
Mini usb port?? Are u high?
