Very impressive. Anyone who has shot a 22lr snub knows that it takes a lot of practice to get it dialed in like that. The increased margin for error with a snub certainly offers a great peace of mind too as you stated.
I've been practicing with that exact revolver, and I do better with the revolver rather than my 365X with iron sights. I'm called weird because I don't care for optics on pistols. I'll take my Ruger LCR 22LR any day over my 365X. Just my opinion. Ruger = 3,000 rounds and counting...
Dot lovers will never admit "it ain't the arrow, its the Indian"... but its truth. I carry a G26 with 1 or 2 G17 backup mags every day all day... but a 442 j frame rides backup on my ankle a lot and in my coat pocket in winter. I dry fired mine 50 times with the quarter /per hand - daily -for almost a year before the trigger and I became one. It smoothed out and I got better with holding it still. Funny thing... my semiautomatic range sessions got better the more I practiced good fundamentals with the 442 j frame.
What many who start with pistols and move to revolvers need to discover is that revolvers need more practice for trigger weight short stroking, single/double action all of which comes with practice
I couldn’t get my draw to first shot on my p355 down below 1.70’s. I know the fact that there’s such a light trigger on it is holding me back. I tried an L frame snub nose for 2 months now and I’m steadily making my way below 150. It’s crazy.
Still trying to learn to shoot the red dot. Got a Keltec P17 with a dot so I could afford to practice. Still feel the red dot is for longer range. I like the LCR for up close and it isn't ammo sensitive.
When it comes to dry fire practice, is it safe to dry fire the lcr22 without snap caps? Or are they needed? Im seriously thinking of picking one up but was curious about this. Thanks for the great content!
Thoughts on the P365 380 with and x frame? I’ve been playing with the idea to improve the follow up shots. The wife has a a 43x and doesn’t enjoy the snap.
with a short, light gun shooting 9mm you can't really get away from the snappiness, you could put a threaded barrel and comp on but you sacrifice comfort /conceal-ability and add weight/length. Just let the recoil happen and focus on your trigger press while letting the sights settle in between shots.
Interesting. Does the dot make any difference at all in achieving said proficiency? If putting in the practice is all that’s needed to do what you’re able to do, why spend money on the optic?
Take both out to 50 yards and it'll become clear: A dot is way easier to use when shooting at distance. Now what distance that switches over at, I don't know. I've shot at 100 with and without a dot on a semi auto, and a dot is a massive improvement (at least 3x better). I've shot a groundhog at 60 with a snubby and it was difficult. After sighting in my new P365xl and dot (aka didn't learn the gun yet) I grouped 5 shots in the size of a quarter at 15 yards; after thousands of 22lr rounds my best snubby accuracy is a 2" circle at 10 yards. Snubby irons suck.
@@DWalter.27 I have no doubt that by the time we hit 50 yds, dots will matter, but since most of us won’t be shooting handguns out to that distance, and Rhett demonstrated that even out to 10 yds, dots font make an appreciable difference, have we just been suckered by the optics industry if dots don’t at least make the learning process easier?
Yep. That's weird. Although, when I was a kid, we would soak toothpicks in cinnamon oil and use them as a chew-toy. After a while, I must have gotten too much wood or cinnamon, as my throat got irritated.

Interesting point about the trigger and safety at speed, have you considered a DA/SA for that reason? Snub in the pocket for that sub second saged draw cant be beat.
“ enough difference to make a difference? You be the judge.”
Someone needs to carry that phrase Onward after Mr. Harrell is gone. I can't think of anyone better than Rhett to do so.
Collab when?
I continue to greatly enjoy this channel - out of the box thinking, thought-provoking and not just the same stuff you see everywhere else.

Love your videos. I find them very informative. I’m also a fan of the LCR 22LR👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

With .38/357 snap caps, of course.
I carry an lcr or glock appendix but something about a fully tensioned striker like on the p365 and other semis makes me too nervous to carry them.
Cant wait for a review on the grips.

Great comparison. Among my handguns is a LCR .22lr. Love to shoot it. And at .06 cents a round for CCI MM I can shoot a lot without concern for cost.
Man, MM are still $0.10/round and higher in my area. You gotta get the cheapest stuff Walmart has if you wanna hit $0.06/round
Correction: .07 cents a round delivered

Great video. I bought a Advantage Arms .22lr slide kit for my 1911 to improve.

I carry a ruger lcr .327, smith and wesson 632 UC or smith and wesson 43c. No safeties and no external hammers.
Excellent! But beware, with all the stats on 22LR revolver defenders being laughed at and murdered by their attackers, well ;-)
Good stuff!
Are you no longer using laser on the snubnose?

Definitely need snap caps or spent casings. Protect you firing pin.
@@kbkesq I'll definitely grab some then! Ended up ordering it yesterday. Thanks

Is there any way to attach a red dot optic to an LCR? Could it be welded on?

And starting with your hand in a pocket is cheating.
