    That is my dream hunting knife. I loves a 31/2” drop point without big deep finger choils. Beautiful!!!

    Thank you for reviewing the knife! I suppose, you're the first one on UA-cam who did it.

    I EDC my Ursus 45 and love it. I have the DLT exclusive CPM 3V. I am so content with it that I thought I was done buying fixed blades for a while. But this thing looks fantastic and I need some Magnacut 8n my life. Damn it...

    I got the same color for this and the model 1. Their brown burlap micarta looks great and knives are top notch. Really digging this new model as I’m a big fan of this size blade

    Thanks for the review.... That's a great looking knife. And, they actually listened to the guy who invented that steel about the optimal HRC. (It's surprising who hasn't.)
    You have a lot of beautiful knives, brother...
    I geuss, I need to get one in my XL+ hands before I order one... But, everything else is really calling to me. I would really like a Magnacut blade - and one made at that 62.5 HRC target. And, I am really impressed with White River.
    Thanks again.

      Anytime, brother! Definitely check it out if you can. The handle is on the smaller size. Other than that, it's a mini workhorse.

      I know this reply was from a while back, but if your hands are particularly wide this knife might not be the best fit for all the different grip positions. i did see there are aftermarket scales tho that cover the exposed tang/lanyard hole so that it extends the grip..which might actually make it work just fine even for really wide hands. Knuckle to knuckle on my hand is just about 3 3/8th inches wide, and the stock grip fits me well..tho if my hands were any wider idk if that would be the case. Think the aftermarket scales would fix that, tho, unless you just have bear paws

      @ShoahBiz
      Yeah... I would probably go for those scales. I have looked at some others (just missed out on a BM Puuko at a good price, locally) but, they just don't interest .me as much. I have wanted a White River in my collection; and, I have an interest in a blade that size and blade-shape, to upgrade my Morakniv Robust. Also, something in Magnacut oc...
      I have a BK2 already, so it is hard for me to rationalize an Ursus 45, or FC5,4.5 etc... No matter how cool they are.
      I just love that BK2, warts and all... it is still fun wailing on that thing for processing wood. :-)
      The Robust is great for what it is. But, it is more of a trade knife than for the woods. I carry it a lot at one of my jobs.
      Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.
      Peace

Perfect fit and finish as well there’s no way that “other” company is any better. I know cause I’ve owned a couple. Key word is owned…they’re gone

    Nice knife. But for feathersticking and banging around with a baton and carving tent stakes and pothooks.... Why spend $200 on a knife when you can get the same results using a $20 Mora? Take the leftover $180 and go on a nice camping trip somewhere. Unless, of course, you're a collector, in which case ... anything goes. For any reason.

    • @papatechie
      @papatechie  5 місяців тому +1

      You’re right-I love my Mora Scandi knives for their performance and affordability! I also appreciate higher-end knives for their materials, durability, and craftsmanship. As a utilitarian enthusiast, I enjoy the experience and the thought of passing down quality tools. Having made a knife myself, I understand the effort involved. Both approaches are valid-it’s all about personal preference. Thanks!

      Sure I agree there are plenty of blade options out there which makes this community come together. Knife Center, BladeHQ, Chicago Knife Works, DLT, Heart of Texas Armory, etc…have all chipped away at my wallet over the years. This is still a great quality USA made, Magnacut, steel and sheath/handle setup for the price in my opinion.

      Personally, I love high quality USA made blades. In fact, that’s what makes up the bulk of my collection. Everything from CRK, Microtech, Protech, Strider, Benchmade, Bradford, White River and etc.
      Also, a knife purchase is not just about the knife. It’s also about the warranty and the customer service that goes along with the knife. 🇺🇸
