Hello Trey! I'm a junior disc jockey - or a trainee DJ from the Philippines and I just wanna say these airchecks you did are very useful on how I will deliver my adlib every week, even my collegues get their ideas from you. Thank you, sir!
In yhe 90's, I worked for a radio station as a jock... And the jingles we had similar to Z100, broadcasting style? Similar too, the difference was: we used cassettes and CD's. Love this vids. Thanks Trey for sharing this. ❤️❤️❤️
Left the Apple when DiBoobio became mayor but I well remember hearing you on the air and admiring how your *old school* personality came through (even though I was more of a 'KTU fan.)
good afternoon Sir Morgan ... I hear the z100 here in Brazil .. I wonder what is the program automation music and vignettes you use there on the radio .. happy new year guy ..
The bit at 1:50 you mention your call letters twice in that bit... The last one seemed like it was just to get more time into the bit. Am I correct, or does your PD ask you to sometimes put "Z100" in twice during a bit? This is a legit question.
Dustin McGladrey No, it just felt right during that break. I didn't plan it out. I always have an idea of what I want to communicate, then I feel it out as I go. PD's in the past have insisted on opening and closing a break with a station ID but with current listener measurement devices, like Personal People Meter, it's no longer necessary. It's good practice to ID the station at least once, unless the PD asks their talent to do it twice. There are times, however, that I don't ID the station at all during my talk breaks. Sometimes it doesn't feel right and sometimes I run out of time. I try to avoid forcing it just so I can say I did it. My view is that authenticity and being relatable are important enough to let a station ID slide occasionally...not often though.
+ventende Yeah, it does get repetitive but it's the way it goes. It's like blaming mcdonald's for having their logo all over their restaurants, or blaming coke for putting their logo on every single bottle/can.
Trey Morgan No it isn't. The McDonalds sign is a quite static physical sign. A verbal is something you can chose to air. It's just annoying. Tell you what, ask the listeners what they think. I'm not from your country but over here they stopped shouting the channel name ALL the time and guess what? Jup, the listeners loved it. People know what station they listen to, have no fear, they are not goldfish. A reminder every now and then is fine but this constant repeating the same message is just noise.
Treys Aircheck is edited down from an actual shift, the title kinda gives it away "Trey Morgan Z100 Aircheck 2014 "HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, your an idiot "VENTENDE"
I’ve been in radio in various formats for 45 years. Still doing it, and I love it when someone is obviously having a great time on the air. Nice work.
Thanks so much! Glad it shows!
Crazy to think that this was more than 6 years ago. Time flies. I remember when all of those songs were popular.

Huge fan Trey! Loved your aircheck. I'm working on one! Would love if I can send you mine to check it out!
Rossi Ramirez Of course!
Man, your gate is harsh. I can hear it cutting off.
In 00.38 what's the name of the song?
hey! w how did you know it was? 😁
Oh my god
Don’t you have any new text from WKTU from 2014?
Do you have goldfish listening? Cause the stations name is mentioned ALL the time. It gets kinda repetitive.
+ventende Yeah, it does get repetitive but it's the way it goes. It's like blaming mcdonald's for having their logo all over their restaurants, or blaming coke for putting their logo on every single bottle/can.

Exactly. The McDonald's logo doesn't spoil your meal.

Watching the first thirty seconds of this has reminded me of why I don't listen to the radio. The most annoying shit ever.
Cool bro
But you took far more then 30 seconds to shit on it, and for that we thank you-- nothing the world needs more than your shit.
the board is like mini small fingers sheesh
