at 1:49 she pronounces her name as "Anne-yuh" but a couple seconds later when you attempt to correct the audiences pronunciation, you pronounce it "Aun/Awn-yuh".
Lorry, I'm just surprised you haven't covered Kate Middleton's transformation. She had a face-lift, jaw, nose job, chin etc, just before she announced she was going to marry William. I really don't know why nobody has said anything about it
I think it would be really interesting if you could do a video where you compare the ageing process of someone with plastic surgery vs. someone with no plastic surgery, because I think it becomes so easy to justify the structural changes of celebrity faces by just passing it off as ageing, maturing, makeup, lifestyle change etc.
I hope shes not going overboard with these generic surgeries. She has such a unique, ethereal look. Maybe one day she can see herself as beautiful as we do...
i wish she hadn’t raised her nose bridge and done the cheek implants, it takes away from her eyes being the most prominent feature and really harshened her look :/
There is a beauty style called "Kitchener." In that style, Anya-Taylor Joy is classified as ethereal or angelic essence. This essence is described as otherwordly and not of this age.
She didnt have all that work done. That is complete nonsense. The angles are just different, and everyone's face matures from the age of 19 to 25. It's possible she didnt like the underage circles and did something, but she did not have cheek implants and jaw reconstruction and nose job and eyebrow lifts and a million other things. If she had that much work done she would look weird, and she doesnt. She probably gets botox.
I agree, I'm also not sure she's had all of that work done. I think some of the changes can be attributed to natural maturing and some to the fact that she's definitely lost weight which can alter your face quite a bit. The one thing I do agree it's likely she has had done is a nose job as her nose is definitely a slightly different shape now.@@marissashantez6051
I really hope she stops, but I doubt it. She's got a greedy plastic surgeon in one ear and warped Hollywood in the other. She's doomed unless her husband and family can anchor her.
Lorry please can you do some more male celebs with surgery 😭 you got male fans too we need to see the truth behind “ perfection “ Edit : hopefully lorry sees this lol
THIS! Specially actors look so ripped but nobody talk about how they get enhancement surgeries so the muscles can look more contoured and toned, aside hormone therapy to get the 8 pack abs in 2 months.
@@dronesclubhighjinks yes I saw Gary’s vids but there’s something about lorrys videos that make me lean more towards hers . But if it gets less views i guess I understand
@@wasabi.2839 Many male fitness and body building specialists on youtube talk about the body transformations. Basically, search for "natty or not" + the name of the celebrity you are interested and there will be a few videos analysing their trainings and muscle built, and whether it is natural.
She HAD such a unique look - that was both youthful, fresh and surreal. Now, she looks gaunt, super skinny, aged (as if she was a smoker). I feel sorry for how the pressure of their work has made them so skewed in self-perception.
мне кажется она употребляет запрещенные вещества. отсюда худоба. плюс она реально курит. еще мне кажется что он в токсичных отношениях с этим музыкантом. жаль. она мне очень нравится
@@Imdaman37 Seeing the changes I just thought "what a waste of natural beauty". She downright skipped the part when she's maturing and becoming more and more elegant. Now the elegance is made artificially and it could be that it won't fit well with the natural aging process, potentially leading to a limbo of surgeries and even worse self-image. I hope I'm wrong but also got a bad feeling of how things may go in the future.
I remember being stunned at how beautiful she was in The Witch when I saw it for the first time. It’s sad that she doesn’t see herself like other people see her
same! she was stunning in the witch! I remember both me and my bf pointed it out. such a special kind of beauty! only if she could see herself like we do!
This is why we all need to watch what we say to people 😢 even a sly little comment can ring in someone’s ears for days, weeks, years. Words have weight and can do real damage to people.
She was so stunning in the queens gambit. Her features are so unusual and beautiful idk why she touched her face. She needs to stop she was literally perfection
As for the people who called her “weird” as a child, it’s a shame they said those things. She DOES NOT look like the average woman, she has unusual features and looks STRIKINGLY beautiful. THAT is part of what makes her so beautiful. Beauty is often attributed to scarcity and the rareness of something. I don’t think I’ve even seen a woman that looks like her. It is precisely WHY she is so beautiful. She’s one of a kind - like any great masterpiece.
Exactly. It reminds me of diamonds in some way. Sure, regular crystals are also stunning. And diamonds look very similar. But diamond shine for different reasons. They’re so rare and striking and that’s what makes them beautiful.
Yes, I wanted to write that, she looks older, but I was afraid that will be interpreted as hate speech. That removal of buccal fat is such a mistake, and I see that so many are doing that...
She looked absolutely beautiful in Queen’s Gambit. Definitely one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. It’s so sad that a incredibly stunning girl like her felt the need to do plastic/cosmetic procedures😢
I mean at that point she'd already had her brows, eyes, and nose done. When people get all sad over celebrities getting plastic surgery, what they really mean is "don't get surgery that looks bad."
I dont think she did. People's face changes as they get older. My face changed from 19 to 25. Ev ermine thinks every change is plastic surgery. As if people's face would just stay exactly the same fro five years. Thats just stupid. Her face looks more defined, which you'd expect with age.
Young Hollywood women don't have the patience anymore to wait for their facial structure to settle in as it will in their 30s. Plus she had beautiful natural teeth and covered them with extreme looking veneers. I don't get it. 😢
Idk why im sad about her getting a bunch of surgery and loosing weight opposed to most people? What she said about being bullied breaks my heart and i agree with lorry I hope she feels beautiful now. I’ve been a fan of her since the vvitch and think her natural face was so so gorgeous
the same reason my little brother was upset when he found out dwayne "the rock" johnson had lipo on his pecs and abs: you want to believe that if you work hard enough, that you too can get there or look like them. but when you find out that these celebs that seem so genuine and so humble and so strong have had extensive work done, it almost makes you feel worse because not only were you deceived, but now the dream you had of achieving becomes unachievable.
@@autumnh5027 your comment is the one that’s weird. lorry says herself in every video that this channel is about discussing beauty standards …there’s no way you’re on the internet and haven’t heard of the “heroin chic” “thindemic” etc. Have you not noticed how tons of the most famous people on earth have lost a bunch of weight the last year or two…? Anya herself said she “doesn’t think she’ll ever feel beautiful” and has gotten a lot of plastic surgery in a short amount of time. Do you really think her weight has nothing to do with any of this? 🤡
I knew she’d had some work done, and while she looks otherwordly stunning, I think her case is one of unnecessary perfectioning that is on the brink of becoming “enough, let’s stop here”. Her beauty was already striking (and unique!) before. Hollywood makeup, hairstyling and overall styling would have done the rest. Still, she’s incredibly beautiful, but her beauty is so unique the last thing she needs is to become more “polished” (which could take some of her most striking features away and make her look more “Hollywood generic”)
We all think that looking generic hurts these actresses but it doesn't. Ana de Armas did what Anya did and it only helped her. A more generic face is a more marketable face. And nowadays actresses are expected to be brand ambassadors as well as performers. Typical beautiful face = more money. An unusual face may be less enticing to customers.
@@puffball4484 Ana de Armas never looked that "unique" to begin with. Don't get me wrong she's absolutely stunning but her surgeries enhanced her existing features. That's not the case with Anya. She just looks different and that's what makes her absolutely intriguing. When that actress from Dirty Dancing got her nose done for example her career plummeted. Generic doesn't always work. It depends on what suits your face and what you're born with. Little tweaks here and there are ok in general but most major surgeries aren't that great.
As someone who was bullied for most of my childhood for my appearance, I really have a lot of sympathy for Anya. I’ve gone back and forth myself on plastic surgery, I grieve the fact that I will never look “conventionally attractive.” Now, at 20, I’ve resigned myself to letting go of the idea of getting surgery, but I can’t say that if I had all the resources Anya does, I wouldn’t do the same. I think, unfortunately, growing up constantly hearing negative things about your appearance leaves a scar unlike anything else. My heart aches for Anya.
I doubt you have in any way strange face. I, for example have a pertruding jaw, crooked nose, small lips - so my profiile looks simply horrible. But i dunno i kinda like not looking like anyone else. Only thing i dont like is that i have small eyes
You know not only beauty is in the eye of the beholder but also our own eyes.. i think you could improve and embrace your own apapreance by enhancing it and taking care of it such asn making your skin and hair better, fitting brows, fitting haircut etc and start valuing yourself for how you look. Im glad you didnt go for surgery😊
I‘m sure you all look absolutely gorgeous. But what’s more important is that you start treating yourselves like a good friend would. Be kind to yourselves, especially if the people around you aren’t. And start surrounding yourselves with nice people, who don’t remark on other people’s appearances in a negative way! They probably just do it because they don’t like their own looks and want to bring you down 🥺
I think her manager worked with her surgeon to put together her procedures. I think whoever she put in charge of her career is trying to steer it in a very specific direction. They're trying to make her the next Tilda Swinton or Cate Blanchett. That's what I get when I see her face now.
Agreed, I was shocked to found out that she played in the witch. While her acting there was superb, I only remembered her as a pretty actress without memorable face. But her appearance in queen's gambit was really unique, that since then I instantly remember her face and her name.
Plastic surgery used to mainly be done to make people look better. Now it's being done to make people look more "unique," trendy, or intense in some way. The thing is, in Anya's case, she was already so unique and striking naturally 🤔 She IS "weird" looking in the best way, and that's what makes her so beautiful and captivating. It's such a shame that the bullying got to her and she may never be able to recognize and appreciate her unique, ethereal, captivating beauty.
I'd argue it is made to look standardized more than unique. A standard that would not be reachable without surgery but everyone ends up looking similar and uncanny, erasing the asymmetry and imperfections that make us human.
I think the unique look is more in the modelling world..aka Bella Hadid and especially Lisa Rinna's daughter..all the instahuns look the same now though.
I don't think she was weird looking before the plastic surgery and the weight loss. It hasn't hurt her career... obviously she's doing very well and people still think she's beautiful. I just think she was uniquely beautiful without looking "weird" when she was younger. Just my opinion, obviously. I hope she stops getting plastic surgery.
When I was roughly ten, a neighbour said to me "People either look cute as kids OR beautiful as adults. I bet you'll become very beautiful when you're older." Sounds a little like a mean backhanded compliment, but there was truth in it. I was a weird kid and only grew into my features in my 30s when it started looking sultry instead.
She looks like a Tim Burton real life character. Not a classic beauty in the sense of a commercial supermodel or the new social media standards but a more artistic and ethereal beauty. That's what makes her look unique and mysterious.
you mean before or after? because her after, to me, looks unhealthy and sad... and i don't think anyone should aspire to look like that when it costs them their health (mentally and physically).
Youth is coveted in Hollywood and at only 26 she has aged herself with these procedures. Her nose was cute, her cheeks were cute, her eyes were unique, she looked healthy with a fuller figure ... just sad that she couldn't see it that way.
I stumbled upon this video randomly and I have no interest in plastic surgery but watched it out of boredom, and I have to say you're one of the most pleasant UA-camrs I have watched. You're so considerate and really humanize celebrities (because they're just people after all). It makes me want to keep watching your videos. What you said at the end about Anya Taylor-Joy perhaps being persuaded by a plastic surgeon really made me open my eyes and consider how many other young stars have been persuaded in this same manner. You're right that these changes are so minimal and precise, how would a normal person know what to alter on their face or body to make them seem more appealing to the eye? The truth is we wouldn't without the assistance of a professional. Thanks for your option and honesty on this, it was very entertaining to watch/listen.
I love Anya. Seeing her in the queens gambit I thought she was the most stunning actress I’d ever seen. She has such a unique ethereal look that’s just exquisite. I’d been noticing she looked different and couldn’t put my finger on it.. I’m a bit sad to see she made all these permanent changes
Can you guys remind yourself that these are all just observations and she may never have gotten anything done at all? From what i got from the video, she makes detailed remarks about the changes but are basically just assumptions. I don’t even notice what she’s referring to and almost seems like i have to force myself to see these changes. There’s no real evidence that she got plastic surgery. The angles aren’t too accurate in the photos and these photos were from when she was younger and put on a different weight. She obviously lost a ton of weight since then and that’s practically the only visible change i can see from my point of view. She practically looks the same and still has that “baby face” look. Only difference is that the photos that was shown of her from back then didn’t have any heavily applied glamor make up on her.
@@shinyanon7839 They are very, very clear. Especially the eye lift. She had hooded eyes before. She has none now. I have hooded eyes and there's no way weightloss would change that.
I've always found her absolutely gorgeous, even as a teenager, she just has this mythical and goddess like facial features. She looks like a model in general. She's an amazing actress!
This isn't a dig at her, but I wonder why all these famous people who were insecure about their looks already, chose a career where they would be scrutinized and photographed constantly. It's definitely just going to get worse. Even people who are very secure with their looks would develop insecurities looking at pictures of themselves all the time
I mean most people have insecurities about their appearances so it just makes sense some would go into acting or singing or whatever still. Sometimes you just like acting or singing more than you fear criticism for your appearance.
Exactly! People noticed I had acting talent since the early years, and I would enjoy being on stage or in the movies, BUT my insecurities prevented me from pursuing this career. So I don't really believe she had struggles accepting herself.
I really hope she stops, but I doubt it. She's got a greedy plastic surgeon in one ear and warped Hollywood in the other. She's doomed unless her husband and family can anchor her. A few more procedures and she'll be heading into the "uncanny valley" territory and that should be a shame because she's really talented. This is more than just about her looks. This is her life and her talent.
I’d argue that she’s already bordering “uncanny valley”. It’s sad. She had such a unique, striking look when she entered the industry. Now it’s starting to become distracting and jarring to look at her, for me at least.
@@trb4321 I feel the same way. The change is so drastic that I just cannot look at her without getting some degree of cognitive dissonance, so I'm at a point in which I avoid seeing her on screen (which sucks because I love her acting and the Queen's Gambit was such a masterpiece!). The fact that she has lost so much weight too, almost beyond recognition, doesn't help either. I hope she gets the help she needs.
Babe are you ok? This video is entirely opinion based and, honestly, quite baseless. So don’t go out insulting people, just because you thought it proper to do so.
I think her acting career might be over because her surgeries are to obvious and distracting. Reminds me of Zac Efron or Megan Fox. Sure they all will get some roles in b-movies. But a new Netflix show or blockbuster...very unlikely.
@@tripodologia I agree with you on the Anya's new look being a distraction on screen. I myself had a very hard watching her few scenes in the "Amsterdam" and thought It was just me! She looked so out of place and bizarre in some angles? Her features are now too striking and harsh imo. She had too much work done and lost too much weight its very sad
Her and Halle from the little mermaid and Chloe and Halle have the prettiest mystical-looking faces because of their wide-set eyes. They are just so uniquely beautiful to me.
i watched the menu the other day and she was almost unrecognizable. shes still beautiful but i loved her ethereal babyface, she looked angelic and younger 😭 oh anya
Agree, she’s still stupidly beautiful, but in a more “modellesque” way, which is now everywhere. Her initial combination of her eyes with the sharp nose, the full face, and her elongated neck and body… that was showstopping, and so unique! Edit: I hope those surgeries have been actively sought after. Bullying at a tender age can produce irreparaible damage
I actually agree that she looked better before, however, I mean that's just our personal opinion. I don't really know what Hollywood considers attractive nowadays, and tbh it might be that they just expect change of how one looks, so just for the actors' faces to not stay looking the same because they desire novelty?!
@@giomar89 Agree. Beautiful either way... just different. More sophisticated, runway model version. I guess that's what she was going for... But she's still very unique looking, in my opinion.
This makes me so sad. She has the kind of unique, stunning looks that the 90s supermodels had. I wish she would have embraced her unique, natural beauty. Today’s standards leave everyone looking the same. I miss the days of embracing our differences.
It's funny though because I've realized that a lot of the celebrities we fell in love with as 90s kids also had a lot of work done, but it was usually more subtle. Jennifer Garner for example has had massive lip filler since she started in acting and I don't think there is an actress in existence (okay maybe exaggerating a little) who has not gotten some kind of nose job since the 70s and beyond lol
She looked WAY better before. Sweeter and prettier and not weird at all. Now she made herself weird. She didn't need to lose weight either. But it's a very toxic industry and actors are pressured to be X rays thin.
This is one person that really didn't need anything at all. Stunningly beautiful woman and she does this to herself. I know everyone says if shes she's happy, then who cares but she was just stunning as she was.
I personally think that brow lifting was beneficial to her. It helped to emphasise her natural beauty. All other operations changed her face to different type, and her natural charm was kind of lost. But she is still a gorgeous looking lady. I hope now she feels good about her appearance and I hope to see more films with her starring.
I sadly think she is an example of overdoing it. She was such a natural and unique beauty...now she looks rather alien looking. So much talent I look forward to more of her work and I hope she realizes how uniquely lovely she is and stops the procedures
when you got to the part of the video where you say "here's what it costs to look like Anya Taylor Joy," the first thing I thought was "I could spend 5 times that amount and I'd still never look like that." she started off so beautiful already.
I think this phrase is a bit problematic. Because people start with difference faces so someone could have the same procedures and still look nothing like her.
She was perfect, sometimes we are our worst enemies. It must be hard being in the industry, but she already had an amazing unique and ethereal look and changing it will only hurt her in the long run. She doesn't look bad at all now but I don't know what will happen if she continues.
She looked so different in the menu, her look now is very intense. It worries me such young women getting drastic work done and how it will age. It makes everyone look way older than they are.
Yeah there’s not enough studies or examples of what a lot of trendy new procedures look like over time. Literally only time will tell. I will be very interested to see how young people age with buccal fat removal done. It might look scary because you lose fat in your face when you age so that hollow look 20somethings go for will be even more hollow when they’re older. Oof.
this is exactly my thoughts. why do all this in your 20s when you look the best you ever will. how will you age after that? especially with buccal fat removal. then you lose even more fat and by the time you're 40 you'll look like a skull with skin and two lumps of cheek implants sticking out. horrifying. and if you do all these procedures now, won't it be bad to do more when you may actually 'need' them in your 40s or whenever you may want to fight actual signs of aging?!
@@LoveK1 because as an actor the longer you play a certain type of role the more risk you have of getting typecast/pigeon holed. Which is an actors worst nightmare. You want to go for as much diversity of roles as you can as early as you can. Which may mean compromising your youthful look. But I think she just looks her age now. Before she looked younger. I dont think she aged her self past her actual age like some do.
@@puffball4484 I understand the trap of playing teens forever but I still think it’s not a great move because actresses have been complaining for years about how few roles they’re even considered for because they look older. This has happened to more women in my opinion who are older than the ones who play younger characters for 10 years. Once women hit about 35 and actually look their age then the parts they seem to qualify for shrinks.
@@thehardercandy the problem with that logic is that in showbusiness someone new can come in and overtake you in relevance at any time. Fame is very fickle. You can be on top one second and then nothing the next. So agents will tell actors, and especially actresses, to "ride the wave" that they have because the industry can lose interest at any second. So there's no guarantee that you'll have time to age into roles. You may have been pushed out by then. And you better believe in Hollywood, they will cast a younger actress with artificially maturized features rather than an older actress with naturally maturized features.
I remember seeing her for the first time in Split and thinking she was so striking! The wide-set eyes are such a stand out feature that I adore. Olivia Wilde is another example of that. Insane to think that she wouldn’t know how gorgeous she is all thanks to some cruel children.
Cruel children should certainly take a lot of the blame, but so should the myriad people in this comment section who are promoting and normalising cosmetic surgery. In fact, the people who push cosmetic surgery should take more blame, because they are adults and should be more responsible.
When I was in Jr. High, I was occasionally kicked, punched, and called names like "loser" or "creep". But nothing devastated me more than being snubbed by the girls I was attracted to. I didn't care what the bullies thought of me. I DID care about what the girls I liked thought of me. And I couldn't understand why they thought I wasn't worth knowing. There was nothing wrong with me, but THEY sure thought there was. Their indifference was the cruelest thing I had to endure.
Ya she looked like a kid. Even though I think she was like 20 in that film. She didn't want to stay playing teens forever. Which is understandable. In Hollywood you get the roles that fit your "look" regardless of age.
@@puffball4484 then she should have allowed herself to age but this sounds like an assumption to begin with. it's probably a little deeper than that. by this logic, all she had to do was wait a few years.
This hurts my heart. It’s quite shocking to see such a change in such a unique face! I hope she’s careful proceeding. I can’t help but feel that her surgeries made her look much older. Buccal fat removal is reshaping too many perfect faces these days… I could do without that procedure on practically anyone but that is personal preference. I hope she’s finding comfort within herself. ♥️
I can absolutely imagine the pressure from some surgeons. You go in for one specific thing and they start pushing you to get five more than you never thought you needed. At her age and in this business, it must be difficult to say no. I hope she gets better support from now on and loves herself.
This happened to me when I got lip filler the doctor said to get jaw filler to even out my face and I jus laughed in her face like I came to get my lips done not to be told what to get
She looks like she aged very quickly, regardless of whether it was the result of surgeries or something else. Massive amounts of stress and lack of sleep Iver several years can definitely make big changes to a face as well
She has had a smoking and drinking habit too for quite a while now, which definitely contribute to the acceleration of aging, even in a person’s voice. Another thing could be refined sugar consumption.
This is really sad to see. Anya would have aged so beautifully, naturally. If she really has already had this many procedures, it seems unlikely she will ever stop now 😔
exactly, she would have aged nicely with those cheeks slowly thinning out and her hooded eyes were beautiful. now she will age weirdly. she's already made herself look 10 years older with all this surgery.
99% of the times people say stuff like that it's just hypocrite schmooze, but in this case - sadly - couldn't be closer to the truth ... backed up by the fact that I didn't see a single positive comment about the changes so far. Literally everyone thinks she had more (natural) beauty before. Possibly including herself, in hindsight. Sigh.
I really had no idea that she could’ve gotten surgery. I really thought it was weight loss and even then I was worried for her. She’s one of my favorite actresses, and I really hope at this point she’s more comfortable in her skin. She’s already so beautiful… with her current appearance I really feel like she could play Emily from Corpse Bride if ever a live action film was made.
I can relate to Anya’s comments about how she perceives herself. I was bullied all throughout school for my unique looks, yet got voted “most likely to be a model” my senior year. I’m looking good at 37 and have more confidence than I used to. However, there are times when I recall all the things that were said, and consider what plastic surgery changes I’d have done if I could afford it.
Same here. I'm now 40 and age is just now starting to show up on my face. What would you have done? I used to think I'd have so many procedures done from a nose job to getting my eyelids done, to veneers, but I've grown to love my appearance more and more over the yrs. I'm the only face that looks like this. Yours is the only face that looks like you ❤ Beautiful
@@tatum635 I imagine we've probably all been bullied and have been the bully at some point or another as kids. Depends on what age and what day you catch us.
I remember seing Anya for the first time and thinking she was just perfect. The perfect beauty, not instagram "perfect" but actually perfect and intriguing face. It's sad to think she couldn't see it. I still think she is stunning, but not as perfect as before. Hope she is happy with what she has done ♥️
I first noticed her in split, she looked absolutely beautiful. After watching furiosa i saw how different she looks now, i didnt think she did this much surgery. Regardless her before pictures look much better but she's still beautiful.
Her wide set eyes give her an ethereal, fairy-like essence (think Halle Bailey). She's so beautiful before and after and I think her beauty comes from her unique eyes too. Edit to add: The quotes you shared, Lorry I think show that any woman, no matter her beauty can have issues with self-confidence. Beautiful women are often mistaken for being vain and full of themselves, yet in reality are oftentimes overly self-critical due to bullying at a young age. I can relate to that and it hurts my heart. Thank you Lorry! ❤️
You can tell from miles away that she was raised in *ballet* 🩰. Especially after her weight loss, the typical ballerina downwards elongated trapezius give her this aura of "mystical fairy" as you described her✨🧚🏻♀️✨. 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I would love it if you did videos on specific procedures (such as a video on fat transfer to breasts), the risks associated with them, good doctors, cost, examples of celebrities who’ve had it done - kind of like the video on buccal fat removal! Xx
he's also looked the same since the early 2000s. something tells me that even with all of the expensive procedures and skincare he uses, he's also just blessed with good genes. like i don't think the average person could emulate his lack of aging even with everything he's had done if that makes sense.
Man, it is so sad that individuals who are so beautiful with their traits are socialized to believe they're weird looking and that having features not conventional on a "standard", that can't even be fully agreed upon, are deemed as weird or in put into negative connotation. As you said, certain things just stick with you, even if you do understand that others find you beautiful, you just can't get over that you don't see the same thing :(
I remember seeing her for thye first time in Queens Gambit. I just couldn't belive someone could be this beautifull. She still looks beautifull but I think all these surgeries were totally unnecessary, she was already stunning before!
It’s really unbelievable how much of a contrast there can be between how we think celebrities perceive themselves and how they actually perceive themselves. She is truly one of the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in my life
She is gorgeous. I think some of her changes are due to weight-loss , getting a little older, and her makeup. Makeup can make cheeks and fearures look thinner with shading. I hope she dont go overboard with surgeries and ruin her looks like many celebrities. Shes totally beautiful just the way she is. Love u Anya!❤
in my opinion, she is one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen in my whole life. she is hypnotizing! i think she still looks beautiful after the surgeries until here and i hope she doesn't change anything more, instead starting to perceive herself as beautiful as most of the people, like me, see her.
She's still very beautiful, but it's so sad that she thought so poorly of her natural looks. Unfortunately, you're completely right about the effect childhood bullying can have on a person's self-esteem well into adulthood. I'm glad that she maintained her ethereal, elven quality, rather than going for a generic Instagram face.
She actually looks like an elf. i think unique looking people are more interesting than generic looking conventionally attractive people. she's got that type of beauty
@@franz3810 what's weird about that? especially in the case of Anya Taylor Joy, that's what made her famous.. we see pretty faces on our screens every day, but there aren't many faces we can recognize after seeing them once
I empathize with Anya, we are usually bullied over our unique traits which we usually find out is what makes us uniquely beautiful as adults. I looked so different from the kids in my environment and family I've always been aware that I'm not "normal". She is so naturally beautiful I hope Hollywood doesn't break her down.
She was literally the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life. However, when I seen her in the recent film The Menu, I felt sick to my stomach just looking at her. What a sad, sad turn of events.
Finally someone using the correct tense. Almost everyone typing "is" meant to say "was" (concluding from context), but doesn't have the guts or integrity/sincerity to do so ...
Hi Lorry! Can you talk about the pain and recovery from plastic surgery procedures? As I’m watching this video I can’t help but think how painful it is to have all this work done.
@@fts_space_shark the last bit of swelling takes forever to go away after a sept/rhinoplasty!! How do these celebs do it. I have zero interest in going through that pain and recovery again.
They are most likely taken ibuprofen so you don’t feel much pain, that’s typical what is prescribed from pain. So they don’t feel much pain, but the discomfort, as after some surgeries they are prohibited to take a shower for a week
I was thinking the same. I also wonder for people who get implants, isn't it weird feeling something underneath your skin that is not actually your own bone/tissue? does it feel like anything? how do people get used to having an entirely new jaw structure? can the body reject these implants? it just feels so weird to me personally.
People are so jealous of people who have a very unique look that they almost always suffer bullying. It's a really unfortunate aspect of the world we live in.
One thing I noticed about your channel is that when someone has brown eyes, you never mention that the color adds to the beauty. In Anya's case, I think that this is especially true. Anya has light brown eyes that are widely spaced apart. The depth in the color of her eyes is almost contradictory with how shallow her face seems because she does have such widely spaced eyes. It adds a lot of nuance and intrigue to her beauty. She is one of those actors that when you see her, you do not forget her face.
@@mmmsunshine5367 Beauty standards differ a lot around the world. In Ukraine brown eyes are considered to be extremely beautiful, especially in older poetry and folk songs
her teeth were very different compared to now, perhaps due to smoking, so I think there are more than just 4 veneers. she’s so uniquely gorgeous it’s so sad she can never ever view her that way. bullying leaves long lasting scars.
The unique shape of her droopy lower lashline was her signature (and probably one of the things she was bullied for🥺). The cheek lift has modified it and now this curve has almost disappeared. I figure out how difficult must have been growing up with "mystical fairy-otherwordly creature" downturned wide set eyes😓. One more procedure, and they will become oblique... 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I wondered if you would do Anya! She's another one like Ariana Grande where people want to deny, deny, deny that she's had work done when she has a whole new face(?!) I think her changes looked good up until the 2020-22 mark but whatever she did most recently, maybe the cheek lift coupled with the jaw implants and weight loss, has her looking gaunt and hard. I really hope she pulls back, maybe reversing some of it if it's possible, and does not do more to her face for a long time.
I really love this young woman. Her beauty is unusual and I hope she does not feel the need to conform too much. Her acting is of a very high calibre. I loved her in the Queen’s Gambit.
I'll love to see a video on examples of oustanding comestic surgery on women like Cher, Jane Fonda, Olivia Newton-John, Chrstie Brinkley, among others. Also videos about male celebrities surgeries! I don't get how nobody talk about how they get liposupctions and liposcultured so the muscles would look more ripped and toned.
Most of the celebs you cite have only had anti-aging procedures. Preserving your looks is a different goal than changing them. Still an interesting video topic, but I just wanted to highlight the difference.
Male actors body transformations are almost always steroid fueled. Pretty much every single one. I've been working out for 20+ years and steroid muscles are very easy to spot.
I believe this is the price to pay for being signed quicker to big productions than waiting on your career developing later in life. There are many actresses who did not choose the over the top surgeries combo, but obviously had to wait much longer to be appreciated and fully respected. She was more beautiful before, but sometimes I think they're just pressured to follow a said aesthetic. Love Lori's work as always 💖💖💖
Agree! It can be a huge risk to - reminds me of the actress from the 80s that was left unrecognizable after her nose job. The timing of it is important.
Extensive? I thought she'd done buccal fat removal, a brow lift and maybe a rhinoplasty at most. I guess that's proof why these videos are so important
I, personally, like how she looked before all the surgery. I like the natural beauty she was. I think that the bullying she experienced is something that beautiful, talented, smart people can experience at a young age when other children may feel threatened by someone's beautiful striking uniqueness. Anyway, that's my opinion...
Since I saw her in Split for the first time, I was immediately transfixed to her somewhat otherworldly beauty & unique features. I sometimes wondered how happy I would be if I could have a face like her. Went on to watch Queen’s Gambit, Soho & The Menu. Thought her recent change was because of her weight loss only. Sad that she was bullied & never felt beautiful.
I’ve been pressured to get cat eye surgery because my former friend told me that cat eyes are more marketable and appealing compared to big round eyes. I look up to Anya because she has beautiful round eyes, which are her defining features and I’ve always loved hers, so I kept my eyes. I fear that if not liking a procedure, post recovery, that takes away a feature that defines my face and instead of destroy it. Not to mention, cat eyes are irreversible.
She doesn't have round eyes at all. She has almond shaped eyes which is one reason they look so strange. II have long eyes like Kendall Jenner and I had a friend with big round eyes that was always bragging about her own eyes and saying she had pretty eyes and making obvious digs about my "tiny little eyes" (they aren't)
I had always thought she was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen pre surgery. I wish these women knew how stunning they are as is. Sabrina Carpenter as well.
That's so weird cause I never even thought she could have any surgeries. I find it very important to make videos like that not to shame celebrities but to let people know the truth. It helps me embrace my natural beauty and feel satisfied with myself. I also very much respect those who openly talk about what they've done with their appearance instead of lying and covering obvious things like Kim Kardashian
I honestly don't think she has done much other then get older, probably lost baby fat on her face and she may have gotten a brow lift. Uses makeup for contour.
She doesn’t think she’s beautiful 😢 I think she’s absolutely gorgeous and I hope one day she will be able to see all that we see. Her eyes remind me so much of my grandmothers eyes especially when my grandma was younger, so looking at movies and seeing those same kind of unique eyes got me choked up.
yeah it's so weird to me, like, she's definitely on of the most beautiful actresses I have ever seen. To think she was bullied for her looks... yikes. Maybe it's because a very different type of attractiveness was popular while she was growing up, idk.
The most beautiful people in the world don't see their own beauty, its so humbling. We all feel the same human feelings. Anya is so young, and I hope she realises that nothing needs to be fixed. Of course it's fine to enhance and have procedures that you want to have, but I hope she realises her own natural beauty too 🥰 Her features are pure camera perfection! She's a photographers dream, with or without procedures
This is exactly the problem. We define/see ourselves just through photos, how photogenic someone is. OK in some professions but now everyone wants to be photogenic (insta. etc.). If not, I'll cut my face, make it more plump here, take away some parts there, the rest is contouring, make up, light etc. People are degenerating. They were not so self obsessed 100 years ago.

This is a wonderful idea!
100% yes!!!!! bump!

She looked absolutely stunning in Queen's Gambit, her facial features back then made her look out of this world, no joke
true words
There is a beauty style called "Kitchener." In that style, Anya-Taylor Joy is classified as ethereal or angelic essence. This essence is described as otherwordly and not of this age.
She didnt have all that work done. That is complete nonsense. The angles are just different, and everyone's face matures from the age of 19 to 25. It's possible she didnt like the underage circles and did something, but she did not have cheek implants and jaw reconstruction and nose job and eyebrow lifts and a million other things. If she had that much work done she would look weird, and she doesnt. She probably gets botox.
@@marissashantez6051 she does look weird to me. But perhaps it's naturally weird haha.

Really? 🧐
@Hawt N Sawcey absolutely. People are quick too to comment on a woman's appearance. This should be unnormalized.

She’d already had a lot of surgery before the queen’s gambit. Particularly an eye lift - she has naturally downturned eyes

@@DianaLopezDlo she was stunning in split. The camera loves her. it's sad she ended up doing all that
As for the people who called her “weird” as a child, it’s a shame they said those things.
Ikr? I hate it when people think "unusual features" is not pretty. Her unique look is in fact what makes her beautiful.
Exactly. It reminds me of diamonds in some way. Sure, regular crystals are also stunning. And diamonds look very similar. But diamond shine for different reasons. They’re so rare and striking and that’s what makes them beautiful.

100% agree. It's so sad since she looked before the surgeries. But in my opinion most celebrities looked better before their surgeries.
*looked better before the surgeries
Why would you lump plastic surgery and weight loss into the same category? Being disappointed someone lost weight is weird.
@@autumnh5027 its not weird to be upset if someone who was bullied has lost weight, as it might be for the wrong reasons
I also think that seeing herself on screen would have worsened her insecurities and made her seek surgery more or be suggestible to surgery.
Shes not beautiful
We all think that looking generic hurts these actresses but it doesn't. Ana de Armas did what Anya did and it only helped her. A more generic face is a more marketable face. And nowadays actresses are expected to be brand ambassadors as well as performers. Typical beautiful face = more money. An unusual face may be less enticing to customers.
Def time to stop. Stop.

They probably just do it because they don’t like their own looks and want to bring you down 🥺
@ajmosutra7667 That’s great!! Also, I think smaller eyes can be incredibly expressive! They probably even fit your face better than big ones would ☺️
Dont worry, be Happy💐
I think her manager worked with her surgeon to put together her procedures. I think whoever she put in charge of her career is trying to steer it in a very specific direction. They're trying to make her the next Tilda Swinton or Cate Blanchett. That's what I get when I see her face now.
True. She’s very unique looking.
She has the talent to follow in their footsteps, too.
I can definitely see the Tilda trajectory for her, too. It's in the looks as well as in the career choices up to this point.
More Cate Blanchett than Tilda. But it's just weird to me that she got a whole new face.
The thing is, in Anya's case, she was already so unique and striking naturally 🤔
She IS "weird" looking in the best way, and that's what makes her so beautiful and captivating.
I would very much take out the word unique. It is doing the opposite. The Weeknd wasn’t kidding when he said “LA girls all look the same.”

When I was roughly ten, a neighbour said to me "People either look cute as kids OR beautiful as adults. I bet you'll become very beautiful when you're older."
Sounds a little like a mean backhanded compliment, but there was truth in it. I was a weird kid and only grew into my features in my 30s when it started looking sultry instead.
I was also told this but in a slightly different way when I was just seven. I'm now 48 and it's stuck with me ever since.

She looks like a Tim Burton real life character. Not a classic beauty in the sense of a commercial supermodel or the new social media standards but a more artistic and ethereal beauty. That's what makes her look unique and mysterious.
you mean before or after? because her after, to me, looks unhealthy and sad... and i don't think anyone should aspire to look like that when it costs them their health (mentally and physically).
wow. she does lol
Youth is coveted in Hollywood and at only 26 she has aged herself with these procedures. Her nose was cute, her cheeks were cute, her eyes were unique, she looked healthy with a fuller figure ... just sad that she couldn't see it that way.
i do not understand why anyone thinks these procedures make themselves more attractive/unique.. it looks just awful. so unnecessary.
Her figure in Queens Gambit was absolutely stunning. So soft and elegant
She was absolutely stunning before the transformation . She looked ethereal , now she looks like a villainess

This isn't a dig at her, but I wonder why all these famous people who were insecure about their looks already, chose a career where they would be scrutinized and photographed constantly. It's definitely just going to get worse. Even people who are very secure with their looks would develop insecurities looking at pictures of themselves all the time
Good question!
the most simple and logical answer would be money.
Nepotism, she became an actor when she was a child

This is one person that really didn't need anything at all. Stunningly beautiful woman and she does this to herself. I know everyone says if shes she's happy, then who cares but she was just stunning as she was.
Well, those are insecurities. Once she said that she didn't feel beautiful
Even the people we perceive as beautiful have insecurities.
She lost a lot of weight and aged. An equally likely explanation for the change.
Think probably the Hollywood pressure of looking as perfect as possible.
@@lydiaking322 well they are spoiled brats.
she is stunning but my god she didnt need these surgeries at al, her nose was already perfect
So much talent I look forward to more of her work and I hope she realizes how uniquely lovely she is and stops the procedures
when you got to the part of the video where you say "here's what it costs to look like Anya Taylor Joy," the first thing I thought was "I could spend 5 times that amount and I'd still never look like that." she started off so beautiful already.
seriously. you can't buy beauty like hers. we can only support her and our own unique bodies.
I think this phrase is a bit problematic. Because people start with difference faces so someone could have the same procedures and still look nothing like her.
just to be clear, I wasn't trying to call the phrase out as "problematic" on my end; I'm just talking about Anya Taylor Joy's natural beauty.
@@augusto7681 it’s obviously a hyperbole.
@@MLGDuckk exactly.
It's insane that they have all these procedures at such a young age.
I think it’s also regrettable, especially in someone like her’s case - she didn’t need any of that done.
It’s way too much too soon.
I actually love how respectful you are in this, pointing out beautiful, natural things about her.
I honestly think she changed her look to get cast in more mature roles. She really still looked like a kid at 20.
But why do people keep wanting to look older when generally you want to look young as long as you can? Why speed up aging like that?
She had all the time in the world to age into those roles naturally.
She went from an ingenue/ethereal essence to a a dramatic/ethereal essence.
It’s so sad that Hollywood wants to cut all the women into the same mold
I remember her in 'split', she looked very different. I knew she's done something
Oh yeah. Now that you mention it!

I can absolutely imagine the pressure from some surgeons. You go in for one specific thing and they start pushing you to get five more than you never thought you needed. At her age and in this business, it must be difficult to say no. I hope she gets better support from now on and loves herself.
This happened to me when I got lip filler the doctor said to get jaw filler to even out my face and I jus laughed in her face like I came to get my lips done not to be told what to get
Good for you!!!
Buccal fat removal does it

As I’m watching this video I can’t help but think how painful it is to have all this work done.
And how celebrities are able to heal without noticeable swelling!
@@fts_space_shark the last bit of swelling takes forever to go away after a sept/rhinoplasty!! How do these celebs do it. I have zero interest in going through that pain and recovery again.

I very seldom talk about anyone’s eye color regardless of the color as eye color doesn’t factor in to their attractiveness in my opinion.
