  • Sponsored: Employees are entitled to work in harassment-free workplaces - a point that’s been underscored by the #MeToo movement.
But when the work environment has become poisoned, an employee may be entitled to compensation.
In this episode of the Employment Law Minute, Ottawa employment lawyer Alex Lucifero - a partner at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP - explains what constitutes workplace harassment and how employees and organizations can deal with it appropriately.

Interesting. I asked for a severance due to long-term bullying/harassment. I did go through all the channels and put in my complaint. Met with HR, the individual got a smack in the hand and continue to do the same behavior. I was gaslit by my own supervisor. I’ve become physically and emotionally ill. I even sought therapy

Workplace Bullying is a Global 🌐 issue!
We need a LAW against bullying to PTSD and bournout or physical illness such as stroke, heart attack, sleep problems and more.

I handed my complaint letter to the HR and the next day I was dismissed from the company with no reason. I pleaded this law firm to handle my case and they ignored me with no reason. I insisted for their help and they asked me $300plus tax is need to be paid upfront to speak to one of their lawyers for max 1hr and if I needed to speak with a senior lawyer they asked for a lot more. And if the lawyer doesn’t want to take over your case then their is No return of your money than to pass me advice or referral…. I find this law firm very undisciplined and cruel how they handle vulnerable people wrongful dismissals

Union usually wash their hands of this as it usually fellow unionized employees that harass other employees.

@@westwindsaileror visa versa...if you are not in the union they use you for a few months treat you absolutely horrid and the union does NOTHING...even the unionized workers see that and are disgusted! But nothing gets done...when a person starts a union job they should IMMEDIATELY be in the union...not pay union dues that do not protect them THAT to me is theft...
