Growing up as an only child the idea of solo trips like this really speak to me. I’m slowly preparing my Jeep and acquiring the proper supplies to one day head out. Thanks for sharing your journeys. You’ve inspired me.
That’s awesome to hear. It’s really enjoyable. Nothing like just taking your time, being on your own schedule, and having nothing to worry about except seeing what’s over the next hill ;-)
Miss your videos Casey! Always enjoy going back to view the old ones from time to time. Interested to see what the future of this channel holds. Hope you’re doing well.
Really enjoyed your winter desert explore. Your confidence in taking side 'paths' is impressive. Kudos on creating a fantastic stew without a recipe! Encourages me to be more adventurous in cooking. How grand to be alone for two whole days out in the wilderness. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us.
That silkie saw is huge. Seemed to make short work of that fallen tree. Nice gear to have. Speaking of gear, it looks like you have you pretty well worked out all the bugs with your load out. Love the way you do the dishes!
That Silky Katana Boy is a beast of a saw. It will cut some significant size logs. It takes a bit more elbow grease but it will do the same work as a small chainsaw and for me I would rather just carry it than a chainsaw and everything that goes with one.
Really enjoyed your trip Cody Oregon sure is a beautiful state and its all the more sharing it with you. Your knowledge and insight is always appreciated ATB
Happy to have discovered another great channel. Wonderful content and production. I enjoy much the same in the New Mexico desert with an ancient Suburban and a tiny dog. You should head this way for some new adventures and cuisine. Thanks for the fun!
I definitely want to start getting down into your area. I’ve been starting to research some areas down in New Mexico and Southern Arizona. A lot of cool country down there!
Consider yourself lucky. Here on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada (south end) just about all the back country is owned privately for forest companies and is all signed, gated and welded up. total shame being as the island is so beautiful and huge. Great vid.
It’s the Freespirit M55 adventure series. Was a great tent. I’ll probably get the same model again. I’ve used it in every type of weather and season. Cheers!
I really like your pronunciation of droewors, a real south african delicacy! I am also going to try this recipe with real boerewors, afrikaans for farmers sausage.
Yes I love the boerewors as well! I have a hard time finding it here in the US but I love it over there. A nice mixed grill braii in the evenings with chops, boerewors, and even a bit of pap. Good stuff!
@@CoyoteWorks01 Casey, I love watching your channel as it reminds me of the good old days back in Africa when I use to do what your channel is all about. How I mis those good ole times, and also getting paid to do it. Yes sir, I ran trails for my own enjoyment and also took paying customers into the African bush for a bit of adventure. Sure do mis it. Nowadays I live in Australia where everything is so bloody heavy regulated that there is no chance of driving till you find n nice camping spot. Anyhow, keep them coming as they remind me I am still alive. Thanx mate!
You live in some inspiring country. Thanks for taking me along for the ride. I've lived all over the US of A west of the Mississippi, and there was a uniqueness about each place that was remarkable. Perhaps our paths will cross one of these days. Best regards es 73.
I agree 100%. There are so many different unique environments within our country. I’ve travelled over seas a bit as well but there is still a lot right here in our own country I’d like to see. Cheers my friend. I hope we do cross tracks. Definitely hit me up if you end up in the general vicinity of Central Oregon.
Casey looks like you might have picked up some cooking ideas from your trip to Louisiana! Lol! I'm glad to see a video of someone cooking without using Old Bay! Great video! How about some more cooking videos?
Another great video, Casey. It’s nice to see you cooking something besides Mountain House. ;-) Thanks for filming all your adventures it really inspires me to get outside.
Truly enjoyed watching this outing and the video quality is awesome. I like the sense of where I'm at at all times. The meal looked awesome. Great ending footage and comments.
The evening meal is nice but it's hard to beat the morning dip and first sip of coffee next to the fire coupled with a sunrise and critters singing to ya.
Awesome Grub, next time I'm out, I don't have Goose, but I could try Brauts or Brats "as Spellchecker claims is correct", with that Recipe. Great Video as Usual, Maybe I'll make a Video of My first Seasonal Trip if I can just get all My Audio in check...lol Thanks for sharing Your Journeys.. :D
If you get a chance,, look into the " Hoffman Richter " Wolf ". Its a fixed blade knife with a metal handle,, and super durable. The blade itself is 5 mm thick and it gets 5 star reviews. Its a few inches shorter than the one you`re using,, but it will literally last you a lifetime. They`re in Amazon for $29.95 and well worth the money. The sheath it comes with is a little cheap,, but you can always find a leather one to fit. I bought one a few years ago ( HR WOLF ) and i like it so much i bought another one.
love this vid food looked great keep on the good work. Learning alot. Wish i had spots in the ohio area. Maybe i will do Daniel Boone Nat'l or The Gorge and see what i can find. Thanks again G$
Nice video, but I'd suggest if you're going out in the wilderness alone (especially with snow) one key piece of equipment you might want to consider getting is a winch.
Ha! Yeah. Mostly overlanding I’ll average around 14 mpg off highway. Around 18 mpg on highway. The 10.4 I got in this video was pretty much a worst case scenario after about 100 miles of slogging through anywhere between 2 and 8 inches of snow.
Please explain how you stay warm in your tent at night. I saw your heater. How long do you leave it on? What about ventilation? How much fuel do you burn? Thank you. MM
Coyote Works I'm a "long time" subscriber. I have always enjoyed your videos. For some reason I really enjoyed this video. So Cool! Thanks for your hard work producing it and sharing. Suggestion: Have you considered wearing gaters to keep your lower pant legs dry?
Looks like another fun trip. What kind of recovery gear do you bring along with you? I’m no stranger to overlanding by myself, as I’m usually alone, but always have a pretty good collection of gear to get me out of almost anything.
Your video came up on my recommended. Glad it did, love love love your journey! But I did notice that you sound like your cold. Please put some gloves on next time. God bless you.
While watching this excellent video, I looked up the Oregon Desert land. I saw several links that talked about the areas being off limits to OHVs. Does that only bar UTVs and dirt bikes? Are jeeps and 4x4s allowed? And if so, how do you find out about BLM lands that are open for jeep travel? I have seen in previous videos that you have electronic maps and GPS aps on your devices. Do you contact BLM and State and National Forestry personnel directly? I would have to see how that would translate to the open land here in California. I would be heading out in my beater Ranger pickup and pretending I knew what I was doing, navigating the back country.
Yeah I could definitly talk about this in more detail on one of my upcoming videos. But the short answer is that most all BLM and USFS lands are open for Jeep travel except for areas specially designated like wilderness study areas, or travel management areas. But for the most part, BLM is open to all modes of travel pretty much anywhere you want.
Hi Jerrry. I use the Mr. Heater Buddy Heater. It seems to be really reliable and safe for indoor use. Having said that I don’t ever fall asleep with it on inside my small rooftop tent. I have a friend that does all the time but I play it safe. But really I don’t need the heat during the night when I’m snug sleeping in my sleeping bag. I need the heat when I’m hanging out getting in to bed in the eventing, and in the morning while I’m just lounging drinking my coffee getting dressed etc.
Does prepper up have a website? Would be happy to show some love by making some purchases but its a bit of a long drive. Very cool video as always. Making me jealous as always haha. The food looked really good, minus the cilantro - tastes like soap to me. On the prepping side of things, i have to ask. You have said before in previous videos that if shtf, youd head into the desert regions of your state away from the populated areas. Would you go as deep as you can into the wilderness and use all your gas? Or would you stop short and preserve enough fuel to move out of the desert areas? Or would you grab more gas before bugging out? Thanks!
Casey, just out of curiousity, I wanted to ask what sleeping bag do you take for these winter camping treks? I need to replace mine, and I'm looking for a winter season type bag. It seems the mice have decided that they prefer it's downy liner to the great outdoors!! Lol!! Thanks for sharing!

Solitary camping and nice food and a Jeep to glance over seems perfect, though seems very cold, fire works well
Love a CW camping, exploring, and gear video!

Tried your recipe out on the family tonight. It was. Well received. Added some garlic bread on the side. Two thumbs up. Thanks for the idea.

Looks fantastic! I may steal your recipe!
Great adventure just awesome, love your rig and camp out. Congrats.

Zaterains and Tabasco - you bring the GOOD stuff when you go camping! Great video. Scott
You get a big round of applause from me and Cortney for your dish washing skills. Very refined!
Time well spent. Thanks for taking us along.

Great off-road cooking and camping. Great video.

Awesome little trip. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I had no idea Juniper could get that big, I will have to check it out the next time I am out that way

Very cool trip. I was relieved to see that no critters got into your stew. You know how they are - always looking for a cheap easy meal.
Exactly! Very refreshing trip.
My new favorite channel thanks for the great videos
Great vid, as usual, great car, nice weather, stunning landscape. Look forward to next episode
Beautiful tree.
Your trip was the epitome of excellence.
Do more camping and cooking videos. I enjoy watching you cook! Makes me hungry.
Great video as always. Where did you purchase the wild goose sausage?
Enjoyed the video! Cool to see that old tree and come along while you explored the area! Thanks and keep it coming!

Nice video! Thank you! I really like your killer saw. I have been shopping around for a tent that
fits a pick-up truck with no top. Thanks again, Ody
Man that’s a awesome trip. Thanks for taking us along brother. I’m lucky if I get 12 mpg with my 2001 Wrangler but I love it.
Yeah we don’t buy em for the fuel economy that’s for sure ;-)
Such an enjoyable video to watch, as always. I envy you!

May I suggest a 5 gallon tank and a chainsaw for the big stuff
Nice !
wow, your high desert is certainly different than our high desert! we are already runnin round half neked! lol
Ha! Yeah we have another two months or so here before that time begins. We’re kind of a cold dry high desert except for June July and August ;-)

Quick question what kind of boots do you wear?
Awesome video as usual.. Looks like you need to add a small cutting board to your kit.
My dodge get 530 miles till between empty and 1/4 so about 8th tank left of diesel. It's a 2002, 2500 diesel 4x4 35 gallon tank.
