On a Positive Note...... I enjoy watching your videos very much! Lately I seem to watching UA-cam way more than regular TV simply because regular TV is rubbish by and large! I live in Western Oregon and visit the High Desert every now and then when time permits. I find your videos to be very informative and down to earth. I particularly like the fact that you inform the viewer what equipment you are using; many times when watching a video I have been frustrated by not knowing the name brand of equipment used by the presenter. I also enjoy your detailed descriptions of your chow and cooking methods. All in all a very fine presentation of the Oregon Outback and overland travel in general. Thank you once again and I look forward to your continued video episodes.
The history lesson, added to your trekking and camping is captivating. Have also enjoyed the music you add to these videos. Wish I had known the tricks of camping you share, back when I camped in the 80s and 90s with the family. Setup and breaking of camp would have taken much less time. Also admire the organization of your kit. Thanks for taking us along!
I like how you keep calling your Yeti something else. Camping by yourself with no dog is an inspiration. I also like the fact that you are open about being armed. I have a normal folding white table from Home Depot and I keep my Yeti on the tailgate of my Tacoma.
Awesome bit of history, I always find it intense to be standing right where the battle happened. As always, its a pleasure to see you set up camp and share the beautiful scenery you encounter on these expeditions! Thanks and look forward to your next video!
I love this channel....I like the way you show from morning to knight...ilove the cooking the whole process you show us thanks for putting the time in to video the camping for us who are stuck at home for health reasons....Joe Silva Eureka Calif
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying it. It’s my pleasure to put these videos out for you guys. It’s awesome to know they can bring a little enjoyment to a few of you who can’t get out there. Cheers my friend!
Coyote Works I just realized, looks like you have a new camera you're using? Watching this one on my computer and the resolution looks great. No more 720p ;)
Great video, Coyote Works! Really enjoy the fact you go out overlanding, not spending majority of your video time saying you need to have this or need to have that...makes for a great viewing experience!
Thanks my friend. For sure. My thought is to get out there and enjoy things as much as I can with the gear I’ve got. I like cool gear and have a wish list as long as the next guy’s but I hate to see people waiting on getting cool gear to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Cheers my friend!
Another great video, Coyote Works! I truly enjoy the local history you share in your videos. I’m becoming more & more impressed with your rooftop tent. That really is a slick piece of kit for your area for sure.
Thank you. The rooftop tent really is the perfect set up for my adventures. I’m never in camp that long. Basically I set up a quick camp to eat, relax a bit, and get a good night sleep. Then I’m off exploring again the next day. So it works really well for me.
Probably use of that cut down log and the notches. Cavalry would cinch strap the reins of the 4+ horses offset on each side of the log (A-B-A-B). The log weighs down the reins, and holds all the horses together at night. No twitchy horse would be able to coerce the next horse on their side and on the other side to move, and the other 3 horses would keep the twitchy horse in check.
You posted this one while we were watching your other videos Oregon 1 & 2, We saw your post with Primal Outdoors and started checking out your channel. I really like your practical approach to the wilderness. Not many people do it this way. Great job.....can't wait to see the rest of your channel. Thanks for posting.
Very cool trip Bro! Just picking up pieces of history with your own two hands, what a privilege and great adventure. Love the camping/overlanding hacks: the water bottle windshield washer, the branch water jug stabilizer, the Coyote Works mod for dehydrated meals, awesome. Beautiful country, difficult history as history so often is. . . . that all men could live at peace, what a dream.
Thank you. Yeah a lot of those little hacks just get born out of needing to make do with what you have out there. Yep. History is filled with some brutal times. As long as there has been man, there has been conflict and violence. For better or worse I believe it's just the nature of man and probably always will be to some degree. Cheers!
Awesome video brother!! I know from living in prineville I was told by family the calvary would lay flat behind logs and make cuts to rest their rifle barrels in. Could be what you found. All in all amazing video love the work thanks for sharing
That’s a really interesting point. I’ve read that before as well but didn’t even think about that. But it would make total sense. They fell a tree for a defensive position and chop notches in it for their rifles so they can shoot without exposing too much of themselves. That’s a great call and you just might be right! Cheers!
Another great video. Loved the storytelling, camerawork, and choice of background music. I am on the east coast so I have to live vicariously through you guys living in the beautiful PNW.
Thanks my friend. Understood! Yeah I'm grateful to be out west here where there are still relatively large tracts of land that are open for exploring. I know it's getting harder to find places like that back east.
That was a Great History lesson, Casey. I Really enjoyed it along with the CampFire Story. That sure is some Awesome country up there. Thank You for a Great Video, my Friend.
For sure. Thanks for coming along. For me I love that blend of combining the search for some almost forgotten piece of history with being out in the solitude of that remote country. Really appreciate the support!
Next time you are in SE Oregon, a good stop to make for historical books and information is the Round Barn near Diamond, Oregon. The Jenkins family museum is real close to Peter Frenche's original Round Barn and loaded with artifacts, historical books, western wear, exhibits etc..
Just found your channel and I love it . I like how you know the history of areas that you visit. I'm in the process of fitting my jeep for overlanding and cant wait to explore Utah , Colorado , etc. I also subscribed to your channel . Maybe we will run across each other sometime.
Thanks my friend. Definitely look me up if you ever get up this direction. I get down into northern Nevada a couple times a year as well. Good luck and have fun setting up your Jeep! Cheers
Awesome video Casey! You are quite the detective as that could not have been easy to find those battle artifacts. I also like the fact that you got rid of the Yeti product. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.
Watched my 2nd video of yours just now. Awesome. I had a cool idea. You should set up a night critter cam to see what pokes around in your camp. Would be cool to catch that lurking moutain lion or badger here or there.
That would be a really cool idea! I’ll check into game cams. They can’t be that expensive and I often find tracks close to my camp the next morning and I always think it would be cool to see those animals wandering around and checking out my camp!
Thank you for the memories I have explored a lot of that country over the years. I took pictures inside the mill next to the hotel you showed when I opened the door Pack rats went everywhere.
Thanks my friend. I’ve got a few more Prepper ones up my sleeve to. I’m still prepping. I’ve just been really enjoying doing the videos of my explorations. But it’s all part of the same principle to me of using my gear, developing my skills, and being more prepared. Cheers!
A story always makes the journey way more interesting.....thanx for that....Man some pretty country up there and some great camping spots.....I always look forward to your videos my friend...thanx so much and keep em comin.
For sure. That's the thing I love about having some piece of history to search for on most of my trips. It really adds another dimension to the trips out there. The best of times! Cheers!
Great history story. Chief Paulina signed a treaty but one year later hit the warpath again eventually being killed in a retaliatory attack by a settler group in Jefferson County. In many ways I don't blame him for his actions. You made me have just enough questions to look into this further. Thanks for your channel. I am a new subscriber so I am catching up on the older videos and am enjoying them immensely. I'm just amazed how you can get out in the back country and have it all to yourself Casey. Back east our back country is like an interstate. Great video as always my friend. 👍👍
I know my friend. I feel very fortunate to have access to the open country of the west. But it’s changing. More and more people are finding their way farther and farther out every year. Someday there won’t be any more wild places. But I’m going to find every one I can and enjoy them to the fullest while I still can! Cheers.
The history lesson adds to the video. It's good to hear the unvarnished truth. I just got back from two and a half days in the rockies, still getting my gear organized (as in, don't forget the coffee). Also - here's a tidbit - I suffered a concussion in May. My doc is very holistic, and says the more I can get out in nature and just look at the trees, river, mountains, the quicker my brain will heal. No computer, no cell phone. The more we're in the great outdoors, the better. So get out that chair, and enjoy!
Amen brother. That sounds like pretty solid advice to me. I know how much the time I spend out there helps me stay healthy and centered. Glad to hear you take the time to get out there. I really think it is healthy for us. Cheers!
I watch all your videos already, don't know why I was already subscribed. I've also shared your channel with a few like minded friends. Keep up the great work and thank you! I'm really bummed I missed you at NWOR this year. Hope to see you next year.
Thanks my friend. I just read a lot of local history books. I enjoy reading historical non-fiction and when I stumble across a good story I just try to find references to any physical locations. Like if it says a battle happened near a certain butte or creek I’ll find that on a map and head out and start exploring that area. Cheers!
Nice country up there. Was the core also obsidian/volcanic glass? If you go back and find more stuff make sure to take photos and gps locations for your BLM/Forest Service archaeologist if it is on public land.
The core was Jasper. A green Jasper that's not found in that area. I do stay pretty connected with the USFS Archy. We do share quite a bit of information back and forth.
Really like your videos, BUT... Dude, if you're that against the brand, don't put it on camera. Putting it on camera and calling it a Sig or Rubbermaid and then lifting the lid showing the Yeti brand is just making you look like a goof. It's like calling your Jeep a Tesla. It's quite obvious. Other than that, keep up the good work. Thank you.
Another awesome video as always. It had everything. Great campsite and a bathroom with a view and some protection just in case a bear shows up. Be careful with the rubber maid cooler. You don’t want to get lead poisoning. Ha! Ha!
I noticed you have a Bigfoot population in that area. Appears one gained access to the inside of your Rubbermaid cooler and damaged it with Yeti graffiti. Thanks for video Casey, ATB.
Thanks my friend. I read a lot of local history. And when I stumble across anything that references a location I think I can find, I start digging deeper and searching for more references of it. But most of it just comes from reading a lot of books on the history of the west. Cheers!
Hey There - good video. Wanted to make a suggestion. Instead of going to Ochoco forest, go south along hwy 97 into the Chemult area or silver lake area. I think it’s the Fort Rock hunting unit. Also up around Miller lake would be cool. Lol yes I was looking at a map lol. Anyways just thought you might like a change of scenery. I know we the viewers would. Commenter out.
Ha! Thanks my friend. I just got back today from a trip though that area. I used to go in that area a lot more but since it is so close to Bend there have just gotten to be so many people going out there. But there is some cool country down there closer to fort rock and down south east of silver lake. I'll get some videos out of some trips in that area this summer. Cheers my friend. Thanks for the suggestion!
On a Positive Note......

@@CoyoteWorks01 You just make things up for hits? Your science is extremely suspect.

So interesting the historical sites.
For sure. I just find the history of the west fascinating. I think there is a lot to be learned from those that came before us. Cheers!

Check out Ken Burns' documentary titled "The West." If you haven't already seen it, I think you'll enjoy it. It's on Netflix.

Great adventure enjoyed the trip, looking forward to the next Overland.

Great video and your historical knowledge and stories of the area really make it interesting. Thanks and I look forward to future videos.
Thanks my friend!
Awesome video Casey! You are quite the detective as that could not have been easy to find those battle artifacts. I also like the fact that you got rid of the Yeti product. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.
Definitely can't be doing Yeti any favors. So I'll make do with my rubberemade until I can get something better.
Except as soon as you open the cooler we all see the big 4 letter word under the lid lol
Prepperjon Doh...just watched the video again. Missed it. Haha....

Coyote Works looked familiar
I liked every aspect of this video. The piece of kit that takes the cake is that high speed rubbermaid cooler. Hahahaha. Awesome!
For sure! That Rubbermaid is solid kit! Lol
Thanks! Very interesting history. Always a pleasure to watch.

Thank you my friend!
Love the simplicity of your trips an history much respect be safe
Thank you!
Thank you for the memories I have explored a lot of that country over the years. I took pictures inside the mill next to the hotel you showed when I opened the door Pack rats went everywhere.
Awesome video! Loved the history and that is one prime camp site.
It was definitely a top spot! Thanks my friend.
Even though I miss your "prepper" vids, your exploring vids are top notch! Great job Coyote!
Thanks my friend. I’ve got a few more Prepper ones up my sleeve to. I’m still prepping. I’ve just been really enjoying doing the videos of my explorations. But it’s all part of the same principle to me of using my gear, developing my skills, and being more prepared. Cheers!

My new favorite channel. Dude you have to check out the Gettysburg area when you can. You'd be in heaven.
I would love to check out Gettysburg and that area. Someday I’ll get out there! Cheers!
Great videos man god bless you and happy trails
I had 2 cousins (bothers) how worked the Deadline in the Ochoco, one worked for cattleman & other for sheepman, really like your channel

Ha! One of my favorite combinations!
Really enjoy your videos each week. Thanks keep it up!

Great adventure, man i was hoping you would give the story thanks for all you do, and you do it well.
Thank you my friend. Great to hear that!

Another great video. After catching up on your entire channel (I’ve watched every video) I find myself excitedly waiting for your next upload. Thanks
That's awesome my friend! Really glad you are enjoying my videos! Thanks for the support. Cheers!
Amen adjusting the tire pressure in regards to the terrain, Old School.
We don't have that many overland trails and public land areas available in the east as there is out west in BLM but I will look into that further as well.
So much good information and beautifully edited. Thanks!
Thanks my friend!
Thanks , love the history and camping
Awesome. Thank you. Glad you're enjoying it!
Cheers!
Awesome history
Thank you!
Awesome..just got back from jeepping and had a sweet video to watch from coyote works thanks man
Excellent. I trust you had a good time out there with the Jeep?! Cheers.
Great video. Like the "Rubbermaid " cooler...
Yeah it's not bad until I can git something better ;-)
Coyote Works May a Engel Compresorbox ! No longer buying ice.
Coyote Works, perhaps a Grizzly cooler? It looks like they're designed and made in the USA from what I can tell.
It's better than the SIG cooler he use to have :p
THX FOR SHARING YOUR ADVENTURE...
For sure my friend!
Great video. Thanks for sharing that story!
For sure my friend!
Beautiful. Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Buy yourself a role of Reflextix and foil tape and make a cozy for your mountain house packs. great for winter camping.
That's not a bad idea!
Coyote Works I've made them for my water containers to keep them from freezing and for my cook pot to keep dinner warmer longer
Outstanding. Very informative. Keep up the great work. Thank you.
Another great videos! Love that last camp spot you showed .
Thanks my friend!
All that happend in 1960....goddammed hippies! Lol. (See the description )
Great video Casey. Thank you for the history 👍
Whoops ;-). How about 1860! Nice catch. I”ll fix that right now!
Another great video Casey... rubbermaid cooler lol
Ha! Thanks my friend!
I noticed he called it a Rubbermaid, as well. ;-)
He has a Rubbermaid sticker on it too! Very stealthy.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing this with us. Subscribed.
Thank you. Really appreciate the support!
I watch all your videos already, don't know why I was already subscribed. I've also shared your channel with a few like minded friends. Keep up the great work and thank you! I'm really bummed I missed you at NWOR this year. Hope to see you next year.
Nice Content.....I'll be watching for More of this style....thanks
Thanks my friend. Really appreciate the support!
I spent the weekend I. The desert as well. The Texas Big bend area
Excellent my friend. Good to hear from another fellow desert dweller!
Would you give a hint of how you find these older journals/diary accounts to do your History reading? Another gem of a video!
Thanks my friend. I just read a lot of local history books. I enjoy reading historical non-fiction and when I stumble across a good story I just try to find references to any physical locations. Like if it says a battle happened near a certain butte or creek I’ll find that on a map and head out and start exploring that area. Cheers!
Cook video, like the backcountry, historical sites. What caused your jeep fire? Any findings yet.....
Great video! Enjoyed the history
Thank you!
I love how he genuinely loves doing this and it shows. I’m just confused to why he just didn’t use his windshield sprays? 😂
awesome videos mate... Love your channel.
Cheers Kev.
Thanks my friend! Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for the video
Another great adventure!
Thank you!
Oh no! What happened to your Sig Ice Chest? Thank goodness you found such a similar RubberMaid version.
Ha! Yeah that was fortunate that I found such a similar ice chest ;-). Lol
That was exactly what I was going to say
Genius minds think alike!!!
Thank you.
It is awesome that he is making us aware of the issues with Yeti. I think it is creative and hilarious. It's just not your style of humor.
Great history, waiting for your videos every week.👍👍👍
That's awesome to hear my friend. Glad you enjoy them!
Awesome. Could you do a video of your weird experiences in the woods?
I could do that ;-)
Another awesome video as always. It had everything. Great campsite and a bathroom with a view and some protection just in case a bear shows up. Be careful with the rubber maid cooler. You don’t want to get lead poisoning. Ha! Ha!
Ha! Understood about the cooler. Lol. Cheers my friend. Thank you.
How ‘s Coyote Works doing? Hope you are working things out? Miss your videos! Come back soon!!!!
As usual great info and video thanks for taking us along !
For sure my friend!
Great video! I would not mind checking that place out myself!
It's a really cool area. High open plates cut up with canyons and pine filled draws. Just really awesome country.
Interesting stuff brother. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jon as always!
I noticed you have a Bigfoot population in that area. Appears one gained access to the inside of your Rubbermaid cooler and damaged it with Yeti graffiti. Thanks for video Casey, ATB.
Ha! Definitely. They really did a number on my Rubbermaid cooler for sure! Lol
neat adventure. enjoyed this a lot.
Thank you!
Awesome vid sir and interesting history. What's your source for these lieutenant diaries and war stories? Thanks
Great history of the area! Could you metal detect the old battle area to look for possible artifacts?
Yeah for sure. I'll make another trip out there and take my metal detector probably in the fall when it starts to cool down a little bit. Cheers!
