- Last minute change of plans! After the van getting fixed during the Christmas break, we got ready to kick 2024 off.. and the van lit up like a Christmas tree! Back in the garage and the mouse/rat has done over £900 of damage this time round.. determined to not let it ruin the week. While the van is sitting at home we decided to surprise a neighbour with a clean and tidy up.

My son in law had bought a new pressure washer and while I was at work, he came over to test it out on my brick porch, steps and walkway to the driveway. I got home and everything looked brand new! Awesome gift. He said he just wanted to practice. ❤

I see so many pressure washing companies that charge hundreds of dollars to do an ok job. They do not pay attention to details. They bypass grime that is right in their face. It's not expecting nothing in return, it's knowing that kindness and decency, care is the reward, owning that we are all connected and knowing that one has sent out the energy of simplicity and loving brings health and the joy of being alive...
The pressure washing spray makes the windows filthy, so they have to clean them afterwards.

When I'm in a depressive state and cant get motivated, I come here and watch a video. The transformation helps me get up and get motivated and do whatever I was struggling with. Its small, but it can make the difference between having a good day and sleeping for 6 more hours sometimes. Cleaned my apartment up, and just sat down from putting the last of my laundry in the dryer. This episode had the added bonus of neighborly love and kindness, just what I need right now. Thanks fellas, for real! 🤙

I am utterly amazed! What a kind and generous gesture. The world needs more people like you and your dad.
I mean it's nice, but I dunno about being generous, they aren't really doing it for free out of pure kindness (or they wouldn't have filmed it). They have a very well established UA-cam channel that they filmed this for, this video itself has done millions in less than a week, they're making a nice stack of cash. These "surprising people" with cleaning videos do very well on the algorithm.
The world needs people to get up off their backsides and keep their immediate area clean and tidy, that's what we need. Too many lazy people who couldn't give a toss.
Are they being kind? Remember, this is how they promote their business

I love how not only does he pressure wash amazingly but he takes the time to clean the spray off on windows and doors. And I am glad he took after pictures when it had dried up so you can really see the difference. Some people do after pictures with the water all over still and it doesn't show a good before and after visual. Awesome work.

Well you have to be the good neighbour and start things off. It's true some neighbours can't be redeemed (I've had some shockers!), but most are just like you, hoping for a little friendliness, kindness and decency from other people. I don't mean being intrusive, or killing yourself doing all their chores for them, just smiling and saying hello, getting to know them a little bit, and maybe down the track helping each other out. We've been in our current place less than three years, but I know for a fact that our neighbours trust us and feel a little safer having us there. ;) xoxo

@@moviemad56 I don't agree... for example I tried to be friendly with the people living in the flat above mine but they are really... well, I can't describe them with a single word... so noisy that a herd of buffalos would sound like ballerinas, they shout all day and when they fight they can hear them 2 or 3 blocks away, they are aggressive and they stalk people. This is why I'm looking for another house. I don't feel secure here, that's why I keep myself to myself except for some people that live in front of my house.

Helpful Elf is part of Brownie Girl Scouts origin of thought. Brownies are another kind of fairy. Think of the Shoemaker and Elves story, and those are Brownies. They are helpers. Hard working helpers that fix things and clean up messes.
I was a Brownie Scout from 1963-65 (ages 7-8) and the philosophy was all about helping others, especially at HOME (little housewives in training?).
Girl Scouts was still a lot about earning cooking and sewing badges back then, but we had camping and safety, too.
Badges were earned starting at the next level of scouting: Junior Girl Scouts- grades 4-6 (ages 9-11).
Thankfully it’s much more well-rounded now for today’s modern world-with Computer programming badges and all! Talk about a different world, it’s awesome!
