Excellent video , great detail on the engineering fix for the fridge , I have same model Jayco but only 3 months old everything is going great presently but really appreciate you sharing the fix , great job love the fan as well, been watching many of your videos and enjoying the travels, thanks for sharing, I also like the insect screen on the sliding door to the Jayco, looking to buy from Living in a Bubble is that where you purchased yours ? Thankyou Darrel 👍
Thanks Darrel The insects screens we have need to be custom made due to the top rail on the Renault's sliding door intruding inside the van so much. Ours were custom made by an auto trimmer here in Perth. who created a boxed section to allow the door to close without pushing the nets out. Always looking at improving the little bus where we can, spent some time pulling panels off and shoving insulation under etc Do you have the brass monkey fridge, if so you might have another issue with the fridge
@@westausoverland thanks so much for getting back to me, living in Perth I like watching the places you have been giving me great ideas on where to stay thanks for sharing , yes I do have the brass monkey fridge and so far in summer I just leave it on as I regularly do day trips and take water and lunch with me, the 200 watt solar panel and 120 amp lithium powers everything easily , do you think your auto trimmer would be interested in doing another sliding door ? If not no worries just thought I would ask , thanks again for sharing your travels as I will keep liking and watching Thanks Darrel
@@darrelwright7871 I'm sure he would like to , it was GK trimmers in Canning Vale (0894557144) , did the job in 1 day, not only did he do the sliding doors but also the rear doors, really like the screens. i thnk they were a total of $1400 not the cheapest but solidly built. We have an issue with our Brass Monkey fridge in that I checked the temps. The temp indicated by the fridge is around 6-10 degrees warmer than the actual temp in the cabinet. I just now run an external fridge temp as security. We suspected something was up when the drinks were not quite as cold as they should be. I now have the fridge app and set the fridge temp to -5 degrees and this seems to work really well. was thinking of doing another video on some other tips and also the Jayco RM19-1 reveiw 1 year down the track (as we just love her) , we had the PVC shower walls replaced under warranty as they had warped and bubbled in the heat (hence stuffing everything with insulation and also the fridge extraction fan) In Case you are interested we do do a travel blog as well, ( thatcampervanlife.blog ) which gives more details on where we go then the videos do.... have a look like to know what you think. any other questions i'd be happy to help
