But, sometimes, it helps to show them that, even if you don’t fully comprehend what they’re going through, they aren’t alone.

I love the Josh is open about his struggles. It gives other people who fight mental illness hope.
It's literally everyone I know. It's hard to imagine many people NOT experiencing this. and yeah, people can try to help, but they need to understand that there's a crippling loneliness no amount of 'help' will cure. That's not anyone's fault, but it's important to keep in mind, that just being there long term (which most don't do) through the months and years, can help us from getting knocked back further.
This song draws a picture of the depression I've battled since I was 16. It's filled with hope, healing and grace. Thank you, Josh.

Underrated? I don't think so. He has a big reputation and a loyal fan base.
I've loved his music for many years and have been lucky enough to have seen him perform live 3 times in Australia. Andrea Bocelli is another favourite as are the 4 men in Il Divo. They all sing similar genres.
@@ridita5221 seriously? If you've ever seen him in person, it's clear he's one of the best singers of our lifetime. Most people would be lucky to name one of his songs, while hearing him on the radio is about as common as seeing pigs fly. In the meantime, top 40 pop songs play over and over and over, with largely low levels of vocal talent and a lack of thought/meaning to their lyrics. He has a large fan base, but it's not 10% of what it should be.
Went to a show at a winery in WA near Microsoft - well worth the 1k tickets!! Shout out to Chateau St. Michelle!!

Josh Groban is my all time favourite singer. His hauntingly beautiful voice moves me to tears. He sings with his heart. There are lots of wonderful singers out there but there is just something special about Josh Groban. When he sings he just puts me in another place, another time. I can't really explain it. God has certainly blessed him with an awesome voice.

Satan and all evil spirits and dominions are to be crushed and cast in to the lake of fire. It is they who are tormenting us in our thoughts. But if you know that God has created you and that He loves you and wants to have a relation with you there is comfort and help in that. I did not know who this great young man was until my sister sent me this song. God blessed you and all who hear your songs. I was in the presence of 9/11 a lot of us still pray for those who died and knew someone who died in the towers. Sometimes I hear a "secular" song, and I think to myself, "That is an anointed song. I believe the Holy Spirit helped write that song."
River is such a song. I knew it was anointed after just a few seconds of listening to it.
I think Josh's songs show a lot of spiritual sensitivity, gentleness and compassion. This "raging world" needs more people like that and more songs like this one.
When I watch the video, what it speaks to me is this:
It tells the story of a lonely and broken person , who comes to know the Lord, Yah, Yahshua, is mikvahed/ baptised in the river, comes out of the water a new person, no longer lonely and broken, but whole, complete, and full of hope and joy. Yahshua (pictured as the kind, giant man who comes to sit beside him) will be with him forever, even though we can't see him with our natural eyes, (kind, giant man who sat beside him vanishes, ) The young man now has a new family, because he is now a child of Yah, and all of Yah's children, who live all over the world, are his brothers and sisters. The vast chasm that seemed to separate him from Yah and other people is now gone. No more separation- they are now joined together. He has found Shalom/peace. Halleluyah!
The Bible verse that comes to mind is:

My pastor talked about how sometimes God will let us go through “storms”, not to kill us but to break us and bring us closer to Him. This song is definitely anointed..... spot on! This song has deep meaning for me as I am currently in a storm of my own... still trying to figure out the lesson but I know in God’s own timing he will reveal it to me.

River....the streamflow of the river...for me, the flows symbolizes uncertain things, or challenges around you..when it is calm, there is peace, and when it is strong, there is challenges, obstacles, struggles and lots of changes...it is a metaphor of life itself.as in the Bible in Rev 22:1, a water of life freely given by God, and you won't thirst no more..water represents life..the stream flows of the compared to our lives ups & downs..& God will help us to overcome to feel the calmness ..once again in our lives
I suffer from depression and anxiety with other things too. To know my idol is not much different to me makes me feel not as alone as I felt before. Dear josh Groben not only did I name my first son after u and listen u as often as I can when I'm down and need a lift. You inspired me in many ways and God bless you're heart. My thoughts are with. If u can get through this I know I can. I'm 32 I'm expecting a baby in 6 months and I will have to fight with all I have again. Because of u I will get through anything. I have always been impressed with the natural quality of your voice and that you are yourself and authentic. As a musician I see many people straining to sound like someone else. I always admired that you do what inspires you...or at least it comes across that way! I played a few seasons on The Voice and other things in studio and I know how demanding the business can be and I have been watching all your accomplishments. I always thought you deserved more recognition and now you really are getting a lot, so that is great. I teach music at a local college and I love watching the students faces when I have them watch one of your videos or listen to the timbre of your voice. Their eyes are like pies! 😀 I used to know a former neighbor from your childhood..so the music world is a small world and so is Pasadena where I live, though I am not from here. It must give you much happiness and inspiration to have your career be so versatile. Such a meaningful song. Alot of Josh's songs have helped me over the years. I'm so grateful I got to meet you. I have a friend who just tried to end their life so I'm gonna share this song with her.
It took me over 40 years of this life to realise that I have been depressed for most of my life and another few years to get the help that I need. Church gaslighting didn't help either :'too blessed to be stressed... 'The dark moments still come but they are fewer and now better handled. I still pray , I still look to the Creator above while talking to a compassionate, skilled ,mature and insightful therapist. There is hope, love and healing out there.

Thank you for this song,,,,my husband, a wonderful man, took his life in 2005. i have struggled for 15 yrs. with this. Your songs helped me through many hard times, i am hangin' in there...depression and mental illness are so real and i am glad that people are realizing this. I am also grateful to the AFSP and God..... Lord help us all.
