Walking down the aisle to this one week from today. Thank you for posting this video, it makes my heart nearly beat out of my chest every time I listen to it!
Better this stuff than the crap written by Wagner for the wedding scene in the opera *Lohengrin.* *Lohengrin* literally dissolves in murder and betrayal mere minutes AFTER the wedding. What kind of omen is music like that?
I've heard several renditions of the prelude, but your version remains my favorite; the tempo is perfect for contemplating each note and the breadth of the tones comes through beautifully, even in the lo-fi recording. I'm not one for church-going, but it brings tears to my eyes and makes me want to worship - every time. Beautifully performed! Bravo!
Really? There are organs that I prefer, sure, but I certainly don't think this is a bad one... granted, though, I think the best recording (both on the level of organ/registration and interpretation) of this piece still goes to Frédéric Deschamps on the Albi Cathedral organ (ua-cam.com/video/P31kgRZqehs/v-deo.html ).
Just beautiful!! I can't wait to hear this gorgeous piece played as my daughter and her new husband come down the aisle after their wedding in August. So majestic!
This is the way an organ is supposed to sound!!! The solo voices are so crisp, but the pedal stops are soul-stirring..I wish i had this type of ammunition on the Mighty Wicks that I played over 40 years ago!! There wouldnt be a stained-glass window left intact in the nave after i got through!!
Amazing. I've known this video for years and I'm still coming back to it again and again because your rendition of the piece is the best I've heard and it is pure magic. Thank you.
I gave Lyndon's arrangement to the organist at my church in Warwick, New York for our entrance at our wedding and it was glorious. Was just listening to it again for pleasure.
If only a "Carpenter" is able to write such beautiful music, a real composer would receive nothing but favorable critics! Jokes aside, I don't know what makes church organs so attractive. I was brought up in a Christian environment, never accepted the doctrine and stopped going to church the day I was "free" to do so, But I love being inside a temple when I can listen to its organ. Greetings.-
Bravo! A Great way to start the day. What a Joy great music is, when rendered by a caring artist. Enjoyed your playing very much.Looking forward to your other posts. San Francisco Bay
Still loving this after all these years of watching it. You end it with a well-deserved flourish Lyndon. I wish my organ had a GenCan thumb piston like that!!
My daughter is 9 yrs old, learning this piece for string orchestra, she is on cello, and she says she LOVES your rendition, and is practicing along with you. Thanks from Boston, MA
Gosh, I've left so many comments on this piece. I love everything about it - Lyndon's playing, the interpretation, the organ, the majestic sound. I would love to play this organ lol!
Linda Billingsley Thank you! I’m not quite sure how you send private messages on UA-cam these days, but if you can let me have an email address I can send you a PDF of my arrangement.
@@lyndon1904 I don't think it's possible to send private messages anymore via UA-cam, if you email fleury.je(at)pm.me replacing the (at) for @, that would be great!
I love this video, always. Lyndon sent me the music several years ago and the people love it when i play our pipe organ and add the brass every eight measures.
How great must it feel to be able to make such beautiful noise on an organ. It would burst my heart if I ever got to try it. My guitar is in the bin!! Great stuff. Regards, Paul
OH BRILLIANT! ABSOLUTELY SUPERB! Thanks. Very much as it should be. Are my ears deceiving me? There's a nice rawness about this that feels like an effect of the temperament . . .
I keep coming back to this video - I think it's great :) I love the sequence of pedal notes from 0:34-0:36, lovely rhythm, and it's repeated all the time!
There are two performances of this piece that really touch me; yours and the one by the parliament de musique with the period instruments. I admire you for your love for this music, sir!
I am a fan of organ music. I would like to listen this nobel music in our church. Please, be so kind help me to arrange the sheet of music of Te Deum for organ. I thank you in advance.
Je ne sais pourquoi je commente...j'ai lu de telles horreurs...!!!! C'est évident, cette musique est de qualité, cet organiste la rend accessible à tous ! Merci pour lui ! D.BABEL
Make an internet search for "Preston minster organ specification" and click on the second result. There's a pic too. I had expected the organ to be very vertical, and cased high above the consoles, but it is in fact at ground level, occupying three bays in what seems to be the minster quire.
Admirable and Wonderful! Your interpretation of Te Deum is one of the best out there! (At the very least, it's the best I've ever heard!) Greetings and Pax Vobiscum, from the State of Illinois
+Alex Nutt you really believe Little Britain (England) as a Province of the American Empire is in a much better situation, you really believe that political situation gives more Liberty to the British People and Government
I had this organ hymn for my wedding procession. My son walked me down the aisle on February 8, 2020...❤
I had it played at my wedding too, in 1977! One of my favourite pieces of music!
I have goosebumps. Pipe organs are from the Baroque the best tool to show emotions. Great performance, greetings from Poland.
The pedal stops are so amazing combined with the sound of the manual! Perfect instrument, composition and organist obviously met.
Walking down the aisle to this one week from today. Thank you for posting this video, it makes my heart nearly beat out of my chest every time I listen to it!
Glad you like it! I hope all goes well :)
32 years ago I walked down the aisle to this, I still adore it and my husband.
I walked down the aisle to this 8 months ago :D Congratulations on your long marriage!
I will walk down the aisle February 8 2020 to this wonderful music!

Lindisima interpretacion,un ORGANO como esee gustaria tocar para la gloria de SEÑOR JESUCRISTO.!!!
Try Deschamps at Albi Cathedral (UA-cam). Fiery French reeds at their finest - and a brilliant performance too.
I’m not a big fan of the organ, but that rendition of Charpentiers Te Deum prelude sounded magnificent. One of my favorite French Baroque pieces.

@michaelrex6948
I like this interpretation because he used notes inegales. That always makes the piece sound much jauntier.

Agreed. This organ has good power and tonality.
I was privileged to be at college with this brilliant musician.
Éternel grandiose cette musique merci Marc Antoine Charpentier.
I didn't tell my husband I was walking to this untill the day before.
He cryed
I've heard and played this dozens of times, but this level of clean, crisp articulation redefines this piece for me!
Great organ playing. All for the Glory of God the Almighty
Amazing. I so want to play this in a Baroque church
Wow, that was amazing - as soon as me and my sister heard it we know its the one for her wedding!
Amazing. I've known this video for years and I'm still coming back to it again and again because your rendition of the piece is the best I've heard and it is pure magic. Thank you.
how can anybody not enjoy this, such majesty and fullness.
A magnificent instrument, a magnificent player and a magnificent arrangement. 'Nuff said.
Thank you, Allen. In the middle of a rather frustrating day, it was really nice to read your kind comment :)
@allenjenkins7947
Not to mention, a magnificent piece of music.
I have to comment again. This is one of the most beautiful things I have heard being played on an organ ever.
I walked down the aisle to this! Lovely piece of music.
This is BBC One. And now...Eurovision Song Contest

Wonderful! Beautifully played. Greetings from Scotland.
Excellent! Thank you. One of my favorites.
I love this composition and your performance is the best i have seen with organ. You made me cry. Great!
My soul doth magnify the Lord!
What a great way to praise God! May this music sound throughout the entire world!
Very wonderful; It is exactly the right way to play this "Te Deum" Ouverture because Te Deum is a latin motet to glorify the Lord.
gives me the shivers. very nicely done!

So sad the Te Deum is no more some in many catholic parishes. Shame on us to forget such a powerful hymn!
This might be my favourite version of Te Deum.
It's so beautiful it makes want to cry. It makes me think of all that God has done for us.
This prelude always reminds me of EBU and Eurovision SC.
merveilleux morceau d orgue, big bravo à Charpentier, danke
Wonderful and stirring! Thank you.
O som dos pedais faz vibrar o coração!!! Belíssima expressão
Awesome performance, from California.
Awesome. Sent a chill up my spine and me feel kind of weepy....beautiful.

I cannot listen enough times to this magnificent organ and musician!!
Really beautiful...I love it...
this should be the Anthem of not only the EBU's EuroVision but of Europe, the European Union or a European Confederation.
As Long as Norway stays out you can have your confederation
Why would you want to ruin such a great piece?
