Sometimes when you realize that a person isn’t considerate of your feelings and don’t care how they treat you, you develop a nonchalant attitude towards them, too. You no longer take them serious. They are just something to do. Someone there when you are bored. The more things you do that aren’t nice towards that person, the less they actually like you. So playing games with them only upsets you at that point. They could take you or leave you especially if you aren’t doing anything for them. That’s just my $.02. I could be waaaayyyy off. I don’t know.

everyone craves consequences. I’m an enneagram eight… We are not exactly the afraid of conflict or confrontation. If someone was even 15 minutes late for a date, I would leave. If they knew what time they were supposed to meet you, they should be responsible enough to get there early.😂😂😂 they would with somebody that they really valued and were excited about.
That’s not always true. Some people are late because they genuinely have time blindness, or other issues. There are some people whose executive function part of their brain does not light up the way a neurotypical brain would. So it is genuinely more difficult for them to feel that it is time to leave or that awareness of time efficiency. They might really want to see you’d but they genuinely struggle no matter what the occasion. Could be their own wedding and they’d still be late. Could tell them they won a million dollars but they gotta make it by 5 o’clock to claim it or it’s going to someone else. And even that wouldn’t do it. I hate when people always assume that everyone who’s late automatically thinks less of you, or doesn’t value you, or think they are better and don’t care. Some genuinely are that way, but not all.

I have a situation right now with my boyfriend, he did something disrespectful to me for the 1st time while before we never had any issues with each other but the other day he decides to do something wrong out of stress he was dealing with and ran off and left me a note that says, he is sorry and will come back soon to me. I totally have to disagree with this video. Sure you need to have self respect, sure you shouldn’t tolerate rudeness, but being petty and rude in return only shows that they hit a nerve, and you’re trying to punish them because your ego was bruised. That is toxic. And you are assuming a lot about someone’s behavior, deducing their motives and feelings based on how it made you feel, rather than what you actually know for a fact. These constant power plays are just a distraction from true connection and learning what you can from all people, even the ones who aren’t in your life for very long. Just my two cents. You can have the self respect, you can walk away, and you can still be a better person by accepting people as they are, not taking blame for their actions, forgiving but not forgetting and moving along without bitterness and self righteousness. Because no one is perfect.
It sounds like you want the other person to take responsibility for your lack of interest in them, rather than taking accountability for your own behavior. You want them to get triggered, and have to nag you every time you disrespect them because it’s their job to care that you forgot to care…but not yours. ??
