Her explaining is wonderful, but also I want to see the faces of the ppl actually making these incredible works, not just their hands

      E x c e l l e n t point!
I too was thinking about the Artists.
Hoping they receive high pay for works onlyONLYonly they are offering. Through hard work, physically demanding for their eyesight, muscle power, etcetera. What tremendous Grande Bounty! And to have the absolute Luxury of viewing the Artist’s process, albeit slight with regard to the allALLall invested I mean.
      Much LoveLOVELove!
      🛋

Certainly they deserve all the respect in the world but it's not about the artists-it's about the art!! I don't work there but some of us artists are camera shy too haha!!

That is understandable but They are probally not interessted in showing their faces..only in the craft it self. That is understandable to.

I have a 380 sq ft bathroom I inquired to see what it would cost, to have one of their papers. It was around 2 grand. Starting. That's not doing the whole room, just one side. They're very nice and responsive, not snotty at all. But yeah, if you can afford to splurge, why not, for me I have to remodel so much around here I can't splurge like that on one thing. I was already naughty buying Fortuny wall lamps, yikes. They are gorgeous but they're not cheap.

Yes it would have been wonderful to see the artists. I certainly hope they are paid a good wage and have good working conditions. I’ve always loved these papers and didn’t know they are made in China.

You really think they pay these Chinese artists what their art is worth? They’re in it to maximize profit, and why their workforce is based on China rather than England

Just love that beautiful design of 1700s on a jade background. Truly stunning and I suspect the price is also but if I had the money I would buy it.

Absolutely breathtaking. I'm so moved by the process and the care and attention of the artists involved. To wake up in a room papered in de Gournay would not only be a dream come true but tantamount to waking in heaven.

I worked for the most famous and richest ""artist"" of Germany as a ghost artist. He contributed absolutely zero into the design and production of the art. Seldom came into studio on off time from coke parties and signed the work with his name to then be sold for thousands of euros which in comparison cost him pennies to produce. Im not implying this is the case here, but when production is outsourced, be careful. When you buying art, ask this question- who is really behind the design and production. Don't be fooled by the rich and famous white guy with the inflated name.

Incredibly beautiful wallpaper! Don't know about the BEST IN THE WORLD; nonetheless very beautiful. It's always a pompous slippery slope these people slide down, expecting us to nod our head vigorously in agreement... The REALITY is THE BEST HAS NOT BEEN PRODUCED YET...Say instead: "We produce 'couture' hand painted wallpapers."

Hi Abel, you are absolutely on the button, these are not so wonderfully rendered, we design & produce, painted panels, with many different designs, all unique & of a very high quality, we also produce decorative objects, screens, painted decorative furniture, etc and I would not claim it was Art but they are beautifully rendered, we are going to be setting up on the States, we have already done Design Work for a large office development in Dallas & have been commissioned to submit 2 further designs for interior gardens.

I wonder what glue they use to fix the papers to each other and then to the silk ? Flour glue ? Rice glue ? Anyone know ? I have some rice paper I would like to glue to some fabric to make a screen.

    • @Odo-so8pj

Chinese use rice glue I believe but that looked like wallpaper paste tbh.
There are other vids showing the manufacture of the boards.
