    I've had my AirMini a few months now and have used it multiple times. Here's what has not worked for me and how I fixed it. I'm SUPER happy with what it is now. First of all I did not like the tube that came with it. Not sure why because it looks close to the one I replaced it with so it took me a while to change it but I tried the regular slimline tube. I got an adapter for it (very inexpensive) to go into the mini and use my regular headgear/mask combo. The therapy is now steady and I can even lower the pressure. With the original tube I kept having to jack up the pressure not to snore but it would get uncomfortably high and disrupted my sleep. Secondly I did not like the humidifier capsule that can be used in the mask but I do need humidification (allergies): I would wake up with a gummy feel in my mouth - very unpleasant. I can do one of two things: the simplest is the wet a washcloth (soaking wet) folded and placed it near the air intake of the mini, works super well. The other option is a mini humidifier next the intake: the water vapor does shoot up in the air but then it falls around the mini and that works perfectly to relieve dryness. Hopes this helps someone. I have found the mini very quiet, not really any different from my Airsense 11 or the previous 10 and I am horribly sensitive to noise. I'm saving money not buying the expensive humidifier capsules or the AirMini tube, just a standard slim line from the Drugstore for under $10.

    Just saw a video that shows the BMC P2H CPAP mask kit come with a connector specifically for the Air mini and that mask has a humidifier option within the mask that requires filters to be purchased every 30 days. The Air mini also has a humidifying option and the HumidX or HumidX Plus also has to be replaced every thirty days so this mask is also a good option.

    I just received my air mini and getting ready to give it a trial before my upcoming vacation. I’m pretty excited about this, I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. I really dislike my regular big, bulky machine, especially when traveling. My question is, how do I switch back and forth using both machines, mini for away from home and big bulky machine at home? Is it as simple as turning on the mini when I’m using it, and then not turning it on when I’m home? I want to make sure my usage is recorded. Thank you for this great video also. It was very easy to follow.

    • @CPAPmyway

      Thanks for the compliment and for watching. It is as simple as using the AirMini on the road and the home CPAP when home. However your data will not combine on one single report. You will end up with two different sets of data reports.

      Ok, another question. I’ve tried the 2 different humidity filters at different times. After, I have terrible sinus dripping that Benadryl barely can stop. Will not using any humidity filter take care of this? I’m not home right now; out of town, or I’d try it right now.

    I’m looking at getting the air mini next year for my bike packing trips….since I’ll be camping outside I don’t see a reason to use the humidifier filters sleeping outside in the humid air. I have a 72Ah battery pack that has a usb-c dc outlet that I can plug a power cable into it and the CPAP. I’ve run my airsense 10 w/o humidifier or heated tube at home and got 4-5 nights of use before having to recharge the power bank.

    Thanks for the video. Two questions…
    1. I’ve been warned that water is actually a necessity, and that the 30-day humidifier packets (I forget what they’re called) don’t do the job and will dry out your nasal passages very quickly.
    2. I’ve also been warned that the motor is so small that it can’t possibly do the job of my normal Philips unit.
    I only intend this for travel, up to 3 weeks max. What do you think?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 роки тому +6

      The HMEs do not work as well as a heated humidifier with the water. However, they do help, and for most they do a good enough job.
      The motor on this unit is great. Can not think of one over the years that has gone down. Even for customers using the AirMini every night as primary unit.

    I have had airmini for a long while but have hardly used it because I just couldnt get it right pressure wise. Sitting here in my front room wearing it trying out different pressures and it seems to be working. Question…. Is it possible /ok to use the air mini without the little round filter humidx insert? I dont need humidity on my airsense 10 so think I need it in this ‘dry’ format on the mini… any thoughts on that?

    Very good video, I liked it. Question: I just bought one and when I want to turn it off, I press the on/off button and the Air Mini starts to pressurize again, unable to turn it off using that button, the 2 ways I found are first: let it turn off automatically by itself or pull the power source, is it a set up problem or a problem with the air mini? What is the best way to turn it off. Thank you. Jacques.

    Is there a solution for the F30i masks and humidity yet? I switched from the F20 to the F30i because I like the smaller form factor and the hose connection on top of the head (gives more freedom to move around). I really want to get this AirMini with an off-grid kit so I can go camping, but I live in the desert and NEED humidity. So far, I haven't seen any HumidX that works with the F30i mask, which I'm assuming has to do with the hose being on top of the head instead of the front of the mask. I can't find anything that I can use unless I just take my normal DS2 machine and find a campsite with electricity. Any ideas or am I stuck with using the F20 when traveling/camping?

    I have had my mini for about 3 weeks...on vacation without humidity. My sinuses and nose are a mess...dry, and painful. I ordered waterless humidifier and an N20 connector for Air mini Ref 38844. It was a stab in the dark because the information out there on how to connect an HME to these buggers is non existent. I have a full face/under the nose mask and this item does not fit without some kind of adaptor which I have no clue how to obtain. I have larger bore tubing than the one I saw earlier in a video so the connector does not connect. I have no idea how to find a connector that does or if one exists. Most frustrating!! Saline nasal spray is all I can do until I get home to my big ResMed machine.

      Using two different CPAPs is tough when you have to report compliance to the DOT. The AirMini has its own app and reports completely separate from the MyAir app for the home device. Philips Respironics allows you to combine reports from the DreamStation go and DreamStation home CPAP. However they are not available for the foreseeable future due to the recall.

      The pressure has to be adjusted in the Clinical Menu by the Clinician or your provider.

      The AirMini will last as much as 3 nights on the Freedom battery. But the portable outlet is a great option as well. Links to both below for you.

    I have the air sense 10. I just got the teamed air mini for travel. I use the humidx gray for the humidification. I use the same setup shown in this video, however I still wake up with a very dry nose. Anyone know why the dry nose, and what can be done to prevent it?

    • @CPAPmyway

      Unfortunately, the HME is not always as good as a Heated Humidifier. It may not be quite enough. The only way to combat that would be to add humidity to your environment. Like a room humidifier.

    I’m using the air touch f20 with the mini and it’s SO much louder than my home AirSense 10 machine. I also tried the adapter to use my regular tubing and mask, but can’t get the noise level down. Any suggestions? It seems like it’s on exhale, right at the mask elbow connector.

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately that is one of the only downsides to this and most other Travel CPAPs. The Mask connection on the AirMini is definitely a little bit louder than a standard setup. If you haven't tried it with the Humidxx HME, then that may be an option for you.

    • @peterj554
      @peterj554 Рік тому

      Found the same using my AS10 P10 nasal mask. It's noisier when connected to the mini (using an adapter) on exhale. I've changed settings but to no avail. Using the mini's P10 mask with no humidx cartridge seems to be the quietest combination. I don't use a humidifier any way with the AS10 so that's no problem for me. Wondering if the noise is related to the different turbine, it's pressure algorithms or lack of noise abatement foam in this device.
