As a long time iPhone user if there’s a phone that I would go back to on android is the pixel. I think it compliments well with the iPhone.

No, Matte glass back isn't the first ever for a Pixel device. Google started doing matte even before Apple way back with the Pixel 3. But Pixel 8 is first time since Pixel 4.
My Pixel 4 XL had matte glass as well.

I'm only 27, but I've seen many players in the phone market Motorolla, Nokia, Sony Erikson, Blackberry, HTC, Samsung and Apple. Huawei was making in roads in being the next big player, but US government shot them down. While other brands like Xioami, Honor etc etc have tried, they haven't come close in the western world to Samsung or Apple. However, I think in the next 5 years Google will be the company taking a bigger chunk of the market share, year on year. Question is will Google, Samsung and Apple share almost similar market shares? will apple continue to doninate? Or will Google take the crown. While Samsung make great phones, their phones are a bit bloated with the extra Samsung UI, for that reason I dont see Samsung dominating in the west. With Google you have a bit more of a refined android experience. But yeah lets see, who knows what will happen
Hopefully the price will drop.
