RTS Behind the Scenes: Channel 4 News

As an educational charity, part of the RTS focus is on providing information for young entrants into the television and media industry. Our Behind the Scenes series explores the production process of some of Britain's most popular programmes. From current affairs to comedy, panel shows and soaps, these films will offer a rare glimpse backstage of each production, highlighting all the different roles and giving a sense of what they involve.
In this episode, we go behind the scenes of Channel 4 News. Known as much for its alternative takes on the day's news as its tough investigative stance, Channel 4 News is one of the UK's highest rated television programmes. Collectively its team has a wealth of experience so sit back and watch how they go about about bringing their famous brand of news to our screens.

So interesting and yes, channel 4 news displays no small degree of flair and liveliness within its production. I was reminded why Jon Snow has been there for so long too.......he's bloody good at what he does.

Great insight. Although in response to John Snow's remarks, today in 2020 I'd be increasingly wary of relying on Google for research and accuracy. Their search engine is now very featureless, ad-driven, paid and sponsored - one that skews search results that drive the most value for Google. We need a kind of an independent, non-for-profit search engine backed by the likes of Oxford, Cambridge, Wikipedia.
