  • REUPLOADED TO COMPLY WITH A PRIVACY COMPLAINT WHICH WAS UPHELD BY UA-cam.
Today we take a look at The Bristol Port Company, St Andrews House, St Andrew's Rd, Avonmouth, Bristol BS11 9DQ.
We speak to Port Police about boundaries and port rules and then move back to council maintained land to launch the drone.
We then get approached by Port Police again who want details.

    Enjoy!

@@FSAM2132 At 15:28 he says "...there needs to be a suspicion of an offence". This is wrong. The law changed two years ago and what the police woman says is correct.
Under the Air Traffic Management and Unmanned Aircraft Act 2021, Schedule 9, Section 2, a constable may do the following if they have reasonable grounds to believe that a person (P) is or was the pilot of a drone (both under and over 250g).
2(2) The constable may require P to provide such information as the constable considers reasonable as to the identity of-
      (a) the person or persons who are or were the UAS operator for the flight, or
      (b) the person or persons who made the unmanned aircraft available for use by P.
So, a police officer can ask for the identity of the operator - not just the Operator ID. Usually, if a person is flying their own drone then they are both the operator and pilot so they must give their information. If you are flying somebody else's drone then you are the pilot but they remain the operator and so, in that case, the pilot must give the details of the operator or other person who gave them the drone.
It is an offence not to give this information:-
2(4) P is guilty of an offence if-
      (a) P fails to comply with a requirement imposed by a constable under this paragraph to provide, as respects a flight by an unmanned aircraft, information as to the identity of a person,
      (b) P is or was the remote pilot of the unmanned aircraft for the flight,
      (c) the relevant registration requirement which the constable had reasonable grounds for suspecting is or was applicable as respects the UAS operator for the unmanned aircraft and the flight is or was so applicable, and
      (d) at the time when the constable imposed the requirement, P could have provided information of the kind which the constable required P to provide.
and is punishable with a fine of up to £500:-
2(5) A person who is guilty of an offence under this paragraph is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 2 on the standard scale.

If you want to see a tyrant in action, watch the video of the young American boy who was arrested for taking photographs of an old people's home from public. The female cop was bollocked by her male sergeant, because she didn't think that Constitution should be obeyed or respected. She was upset that the boy refused to answer her questions and arrested him for that. That is tyranny. People like yourself are far too quick to brandish words like corrupt, or tyrant around far too easily, and without knowing the definition. The cop said or did something I didn't like, they're a TYRANT!!! The cop said or did something I didn't like, they're CORRUPT!

yeah but it's all about meeting that threshold. He showed her his operator ID which is the only thing he needed to comply with. And ensure his drone was sub 250. That is the only competency required in that location.

That female officer is a jobsworth who does not know the law nor does whoever she consulted. Hope she went away and learnt the law. Totally wrong that an on duty officer comes onto public land (does she have jurisdiction off port land?), gets the law wrong and invokes privacy to cover her errors in drone laws!

The ports police only have jurisdiction of the port and a mile radius from the port.

    June 10
Although each Force does try to confine its operations to its own county boundaries, and would generally request local Police to carry out the arrest of a suspect in another region, they are not obliged to do so and their powers and privileges do not ‘fall away’ when they cross the county line.
However, as well as the territorial forces, there also exist a wide variety of “Special Police Forces” whose officers are not full Crown Constables, answerable to the Home Office, but a different species of law enforcement officer, whose typical police uniforms belie the fact that their powers are geographically limited to a specific location or type of infrastructure and cannot generally be exercised outside the boundaries of the same. Such “Special Police Forces” include the following -
British Transport Police (formerly, the Railway Police)
    Ministry of Defence Police
    Civil Nuclear Constabulary
Ports Police (e.g the Port of Dover Police)
Parks Police (e.g Kensington & Chelsea Parks Police)
Cathedral Constables (e.g York Minster Police)
Cambridge University Police (Clearly Cambridge students need closer control than any others!)
    Mersey Tunnels Police.
The Port of Dover Police, as with many other regional port forces, are funded by the owners of the Port and are maintained under powers originating from the Harbours, Docks and Piers Clauses Act 1847 which limits their jurisdiction to land actually owned by the Harbour Board, and extending in a one mile radius beyond.
