Brooo i'm glad you are feeling better! For everyone who keeps saying the TLM103 is too bright and that it is not a real Neumann, I definitely need to show them this video lol. The TLM103 is bright but it has a smooth character to that brightness and it has the classic Neumann mids sound. Maybe not as much as a U87, but they are definitely still there and full. The BH2 on the other hand sounds much brighter because the highs have a sizzle to them, and the mids sound much more scooped. I'd say the TLM103 is probably a better option in terms of a studio workhorse (if the highs are too much for a voice, roll off highs with hardware EQ) due to the smoother top end and more mid presence, but the BH2 is definitely closer to that final modern vocal product. Neither is better, just different. They have their place.
Much appreciation man for the support! My right ear was closed for 3 weeks! It was terrible! Man, my experience was with the 102 first and it made me curious about the 103. I felt like both still hold the “luxury” quality about them but at a reasonable price point. But mics voiced like the BH2 show the hyped top end. Like you said, workhorse or utilitarian nature goes to the 103 for me. The BH2 is more of a specialty mic or like knowing that one color would work seamlessly in piece of art. Interestingly enough, I thought the MA-201fet had more sizzle than the BH2, but this test corrected me on that. I will say, I actually liked the weight tank with the BH2. But I kept it in the round mode. Paired with a solid chain, the BH2 will work fine. People just need to approach the mic with that thought process.
No problem at all. Decent lighting technique goes a long way. I do a bit of color grading but the m6ii is a solid little camera! I did have a camera upgrade though.
What’s up! My bad I just re-read your question. I think at that price point, the ma201fet from Mojave audio could work. Roswell pro audio has the mini k87 and mini k67. Those both have Neumann Esq tone to it. And it may come close to what you’re shooting for
@@CarlMooreMusic I have one more question Is the AkG c414XL a good mic ? I know someone selling it for 400 should I grab that for now and then later on invest my money in to a Neumann 103 ?

It came with the BH2 from JZ microphones.

I’m a fan of that mic. It’s versatile, has multiple polar patterns and it’s a solid mic.
TLM 103 took processing much better
Thanks for checking out the video and commenting. Just for sake of conversation, why do you feel it took processing better?
