That thing reminds me of all those 'Internet appliances' that were all the rage around 2000, all of which flopped. It was a classic case of the technology being ahead of the concept they were intended for, plus people tend to overestimate technology in the short term and underestimate it in the long term (back in the late 1950s people were saying that the huge room-filling vacuum tube computers would be solving the great mysteries of Mankind in the near future, which is a laughable idea even today), and keep in mind that today nearly everybody carries a smartphone in their pocket that does pretty much everything that thing can do and they think nothing of it.
if you know how to do it, it would be cheaper, those G3 iMac's are DIRT cheap....I bought one about 10 years ago for $25! See them at the recycling center every now and then for $4...I bought two of 'em from the recycling center just to play around with. One is on OS X and the other is on OS 9 (Granted, I know you can dual-boot on those older machines, I just prefer not to dual-boot)
I really appreciate this channel's appreciation and attention to the obscure and weird. I seem to find out something new every time I watch a video and that's rare. Hoping this channel blows up and becomes bigger, cheers for 90k soon
The picture of the PSX with all of the components and the retail box was mine and I posted it online. I'm so happy that you utilized it in your video. Another great video! Keep it up Adam!
One thing worth noting about CSK is that they actually owned Sega at the time (they did so from 1984 to 2004, when Sega and Sammy merged to create SegaSammy Holdings), which would explain why they worked on this model.
Really cool to see that thing get some love. I'm shocked it's been 7 years since that video came out. I remember watching it for the first time a year after it came out. I was 13 at the time. Damn. Time flies...
Thanks for the informative video! 👍 One thing I’d recommend is to turn the TV screen brightness down when recording video of both yourself and the tv at the same time. That way the viewers can better see what’s on the screen.
Fun Fact, Fuji Television is part of the way Super Mario Bros 2 was created. Nintendo basically made the original game, Doki Doki Panic for Fuji Television's Dream Factory. But changed the game up with Mario Bros characters. It's a neat story by Norm from Gaming Historian. And Adam, I really loved the update on this model. Still enjoying this series!
Man I freaking _love_ that keyboard. I always liked that trend in the 90s and and early 2000s when everything was see-through, from phones to Gameboys to controllers and the early iMacs. I miss that trend.
Late reply to a very old video. The Midi in and Out is related to the official Midi in and Out cable you have. Due to the fact the Dreamcast is inside the TV set, you wouldn't be able to access it to use the cable, so its preinstalled for those who would use it.
Layperson opinion: The midi cable and compatibility was for the use of karaoki. Karaoki is apparently, far as I know, huge in Japan. I could very easily be wrong.
I think I might have a purpose for that weird item you have there. Object head cosplay, it would be a one of a kind tv helmet made from one of the rarest crts in the world. You have an opportunity to turn that legendary failure into a masterpiece of art.
This thing would have been a lot better if it were a CRT monitor that took advantage of the Dreamcast's VGA signal. The only problem would be that would be that it wouldn't be compatible with every game, but it would have been worth it in my book. :)
Dam I remember learning about this in highschool in the mid 00's. I actually came across one on ebay for $250 + $200 shipping, that was all the money I had in the world at the time, but no way I could've predicted they'd be worth so much now
MIDI is basically note/velocity/patch change data sent from keyboards and controllers that support MIDI. Probably there would be music creation software and one could plug in their MIDI compatible keyboard to play music with the system.
This series is one of my favorites of yours, glad to see another video! While I had a small knowledge of the other consoles you covered, this one I'd never even known about. Very cool.
Adam I have a Twin Famicom and a few other Japanese systems like the Panasonic Q, what power converter did you briefly show? Do you have a specific model that you would recommend? Thanks!
how can anyone thumb down on this if your a gamer and you like all things feckin cool this has too be the coolest thing especially in gaming I have every scene wow you should be showing this thing more than once every 7 yrs it's an incredible find 🤗
This reminds me of Sega's plans to release a Satellite TV box in partnership with Pace in the UK, but I don't think it ever got released as Sega moved out of the console making business, months before the box was due for release...I'm sure there are prototypes of the unit floating around....it even had a built in Hard drive, just goes to show how ahead of the curve Sega were.
Wait--HOW MUCH?!?! Maybe it's time to make some space and money. I need to check again and see if mine came with the camera. What a deal you got. Amazing.
Adam changing the Dreamcast collector's market back when still nobody really cared for this console except die hard fans. Nice... Also it might be the lights in your room but I feel this clear *green* peripherals look just like the later released clear blue Nintendo64 model from its design.
Interestingly the television UI used by this resembles the one used by Samsung Hitron Black consumer CRT TVs from around the same time (1997-2003). I noticed it when you adjusted the volume...
Interesting. Someone in my area recently had one posted on a local ad in my area for 3K. I was certainly tempted, but ultimately passed on it as I could not justify the price even if it was a "decent" deal. Frankly i'm more than happy with my DC Control Unit Hardware :)
The reason why it's called the DIVERS 2000 is because if you're having trouble diving, all you have to do is tie this thing to your ankle and it'll get you to the bottom of the ocean in 2000 seconds or less and at a price of $2000 or less (originally).
Here in 2020, there's like 1 on ebay with a bad speaker, damage to the base, and everything but the remote missing and the guy still wants $3.2K. Woof.
Hey Adam, nice vid! I'm wondering if Samsung had a hand in this? Reason being is that I noticed the interface that comes up when you adjust the volume is identical to the interface that comes up on a Samsung CRT I own.
I guess its one of those more interesting pieces in gaming history. Although, Sega did have a couple of interesting systems made by other companies, back then. Wondermega / X'Eye, Genesis Model 3, Sega CDX, the unreleased Sega Pluto, just to name a few.
Hey Adam! Thanks for the videos man! I was hoping you could give me some advice. My local game store gas a Dreamcast desert eagle light gun with the blowback feature. Its in box and clean but missing the power cord. I'm having a hard time justifying shelling out 2 bills for it. Do know anything about these light guns? And what kind of price point I should be aiming for? I appreciate any advice!
Dreamcast intended for karaoke bars. Originally packaged with a broadband adapter. Most of them are scalped for the adapters and still sold without it.
hey Adam I literally just found out about a super rare Dreamcast variant. It is called the Dreamcast Dreampoint Casio Portable TV Divers..... literally a dreamcast that is a mini tv. you could only get it by using a card to buy things and get 10,000 dreampoints.
That thing is completely impractical, but I still want one. It just begs to have Space Channel 5 played on it.
Good Luck
If no one send it to trash so far you still have 199 of these to try hunting for.
theoretically, you could hook up a ps2 to the composites on this thing, even if only for the sake of cruel irony
Oof
GAMESTOP WILL GIVE YOU $5
Eric B in store credit, 56 cents cash.
Eric B and 10-year-old jokes don't give you anything.
Eric B They won't take it because it's not their computer!
They wont even take it
how to make more money from gamestop games. trade in or sell a game that already came out lately or recently lol.
Thanks for revisiting this! I've seen your original video on this but always good to have an update.
Adam Japanese stores have no Xbox section
I'm in Japan right now, and they do have XBox sections.
Thanks for watching!
Wheres the ...and is intended to aid the Dreamcast community. ?
It's always great to hear the full intro :)
Not a Keep Dreaming episode.
television and cheese I guess you didn't...figure it out *badum tsss* 😎... ok I'll go
I keep telling him he needs to re-record that. ):
There is Sony tv that has a built-in ps2 its exclusive to PAL
Basically the anti-divers 2000 lol
-laughs in European-

This thing is sooo cool! I love the bubbly aesthetic of the early 2000s.
Everything and anything dreamcast related was ahead of it's time
"Even if you want it, you can't get it." -Adam Koralik, 2017
I wounder if it would be cheaper to buy an iMac and mod a dreamcast into it. You could probably have vga and light gun support too.
Tashiro Sato +1
though this thing literally looks like a classic iMac lol
if you know how to do it, it would be cheaper, those G3 iMac's are DIRT cheap....I bought one about 10 years ago for $25! Not really. Most iMac G3 CRT models are $100.
Theres a "new" in box one on eBay for $6500
I really appreciate this channel's appreciation and attention to the obscure and weird. I seem to find out something new every time I watch a video and that's rare.

Ha, awesome. Thanks!
One in 2020 on eBay costs $3250 right now.
that new profile picture though
Thanks?
yes
really appreciated the editing in this one!
Thanks!
One thing worth noting about CSK is that they actually owned Sega at the time (they did so from 1984 to 2004, when Sega and Sammy merged to create SegaSammy Holdings), which would explain why they worked on this model.
I started following your youtube channel when I found your first video about the divers 2000, it feels like things have really come full circle haha.
Good!
plz do the DC dev units again too! ur early DC vids r what made me fall in love with ur channel
Thanks, hadn't even considered that though. Maybe, some day.
Thanks for making the video. I remember going to Walmart and seeing Y2K compliant toasters in the end of 1999.
Really cool to see that thing get some love. I'm shocked it's been 7 years since that video came out. I remember watching it for the first time a year after it came out. I was 13 at the time. Damn. Time flies...
Yeah man, you get used to it.
Nearly 90,000 subscribers congratulations! :)
Thanks for the informative video! 👍
One thing I’d recommend is to turn the TV screen brightness down when recording video of both yourself and the tv at the same time. That way the viewers can better see what’s on the screen.
This is by far the coolest thing I've ever seen you talk about! :)
Appreciated.
I should get a dreamcast of my own someday...
Right decision, to "reupload" the video. Didn´t see the original video.
Awesome!!
Thanks for watching this one!
Adam!! Wrong intro, it should have mentioned "this video is to help the dreamcast community" :) Real nice device btw.
It's not a Keep Dreaming episode sir.
Fun Fact, Fuji Television is part of the way Super Mario Bros 2 was created. Nintendo basically made the original game, Doki Doki Panic for Fuji Television's Dream Factory.

Thanks!
This thing is friggin badass! This reminds me of my SHARP NES TV. I love these kinds of consoles!
Saw one of these at our Retro Spel Mässan a couple years back. No idea what it was at the time. Cool vid!
Awesome review Adam! This unit looks soo cool! Thanks for sharing :-)
Thanks for watching!
I've never heard of it before. I'm glad you did it again.
Man I freaking _love_ that keyboard. I always liked that trend in the 90s and and early 2000s when everything was see-through, from phones to Gameboys to controllers and the early iMacs. I miss that trend.
I never knew this existed. Thanks for this video. It's just another way to make the Dreamcast seem like it was ahead of it's time.
has it been 7 years adam?!?! jesus christ i've been subbed to you forever :D
Late reply to a very old video. The Midi in and Out is related to the official Midi in and Out cable you have. Due to the fact the Dreamcast is inside the TV set, you wouldn't be able to access it to use the cable, so its preinstalled for those who would use it.

I love how Into that Sonic Adventure intro tune, you were getting.
This would make a awesome monthly series
It could never last that long.
I think I might have a purpose for that weird item you have there. Object head cosplay, it would be a one of a kind tv helmet made from one of the rarest crts in the world. You have an opportunity to turn that legendary failure into a masterpiece of art.
killing it at usual Adam keep up the good work
Damn, now I am really curious as to what the MIDI ports are used for. Good work Adam.
This thing would have been a lot better if it were a CRT monitor that took advantage of the Dreamcast's VGA signal. The only problem would be that would be that it wouldn't be compatible with every game, but it would have been worth it in my book. :)

Haha, I like seeing you get all pumped up for the SA intro.
$300 box and shipped is an insane price. Great vid dude.
Thanks.
i like the fact that the video phone was the future when it was commercial ready in the 70s
Wow... I remember when you first did a video on this 😩😩 it's been 7 years already? I've been a fan of yours since day one 👍
This series is one of my favorites of yours, glad to see another video! While I had a small knowledge of the other consoles you covered, this one I'd never even known about. Very cool.
Glad you liked it!
I have come to believe every video is apart of the quick shoot series...
7 years ago?! Bloody hell. That makes me feel old. I was in my mid twenties when I watched that haha
I remember them "selling" that thing in Osaka back in the day for like a week. Thanks for the review!
I'm in Osaka right now. :P
Man, I remember seeing the original not long after it came out, so you wouldn't believe how fast I clicked this video!!
Appreciated.
it looks like the great gazoo from the Flintstones... only blue.
Adam I have a Twin Famicom and a few other Japanese systems like the Panasonic Q, what power converter did you briefly show? Do you have a specific model that you would recommend? Thanks!

Adam changing the Dreamcast collector's market back when still nobody really cared for this console except die hard fans.
Nice...
Also it might be the lights in your room but I feel this clear *green* peripherals look just like the later released clear blue Nintendo64 model from its design.
10:20 how do you use one button to increase and decrease volume?
It's not one button, just appears to be. Pressure in either direct will determine how the volume works.
So for the communication to work does it only connect to other Divers?
i thought u already made a video about this thing...im happy to watch a new version with more info tho
was that other video really 7 years ago?!? wow it feels like it was just the other day... :/ I remember it vividly
Yeah, shit goes by quickly.
Interestingly the television UI used by this resembles the one used by Samsung Hitron Black consumer CRT TVs from around the same time (1997-2003). I noticed it when you adjusted the volume...
I remember the video from years ago,I have been searching for one ever since .
Oh wow - I thought I saw something that escaped from the Space Channel 5 game - pretty weird mutant CRT / Dreamcast combo! :)
Fantastic, even had MIDI. That's surprising.
Will that keyboard work for typing of the dead? Or is it different than the standard keyboard
I gotta say that is rare to see weird looking but cool because of it's rarity
Interesting. Someone in my area recently had one posted on a local ad in my area for 3K. I was certainly tempted, but ultimately passed on it as I could not justify the price even if it was a "decent" deal. Frankly i'm more than happy with my DC Control Unit Hardware :)

I skimmed through the video, did you not demonstrate the webcam? Or is it not possible to still demo it?
Does the Terraonion MODE work with this Dreamcast TV? I'm just asking since this video is four years old.
I wouldn't even consider trying to find out to be honest.
Adam you win the award for your Sega love!!! they should offer you a job or send you a trophy :) good video.
Ha, thanks.
Perhaps the MIDI Port would enable the lights outside Dreamcast mode?
Nice video, you can tell you are talking about dreamcast just by your mood
Thanks.
The MIDI ports mean it probably was intended to run a MIDI interface of some sort that allows external MIDI devices. Just never got implemented
I guess its one of those more interesting pieces in gaming history.
Although, Sega did have a couple of interesting systems made by other companies, back then.
Wondermega / X'Eye, Genesis Model 3, Sega CDX, the unreleased Sega Pluto, just to name a few.
Do you have any idea which version on the gd-rom is in there? I'm so curious.... Is it maybe a unique gd-rom?
This is my HOLY GRAIL, #1 on my want list :D
+Videogamesnewyork You guys have an FM Towns Marty in the box, surely that must help you sleep.
Hey Adam! Thanks for the videos man! I was hoping you could give me some advice. My local game store gas a Dreamcast desert eagle light gun with the blowback feature. What about the R7 Dreamcast? I've seen that a few times, but never knew what it was.
Dreamcast intended for karaoke bars. Originally packaged with a broadband adapter. Most of them are scalped for the adapters and still sold without it.
I'm watching this 4 years in the future
Quote of the day - "I was going hard for Dreamcast"
Remember watching that video..Man does time fly
That thing is fuckin weird/cool as shit. I never would've thought it looked like that from the side. And it lights up lol. Old school FaceTime lol
what you think about the Aiwa CSD-GM1 (Boombox that was also a Mega CD and genesis)
Wish I had one.
Side note, I just bought a Dreamcast, and I'm fucking loving it!
hey Adam I literally just found out about a super rare Dreamcast variant. It is called the Dreamcast Dreampoint Casio Portable TV Divers..... literally a dreamcast that is a mini tv. you could only get it by using a card to buy things and get 10,000 dreampoints.
"It kinda looks like a Chao, Sonic and an iMac had sex and this was the result" that genuinely made me crack up 🤣
Keep it up bro I'm still working on my collection
i'm a simple man, i see a new video from adam, i click on it, i hit the like button, then i watch it.
Much appreciated.
Has it really been 7 years since that video? Damn it really doesn't feel like it.
Very informative vid. You gonna be at TooManyGames?
Should be, yeah.
This is the fucking coolest shit ever
