There's a universe where Casio made a ninth generation console equipped with a 3D printer. With which you can print a better console, giving a whole new meaning to homebrew.
"The following video is part of our 'Quick Shoot' series of some kind, and is intended to aide the Dreamcast & gaming community, I hope you enjoy it." :P
I swear you two need to make a video together at some point. Would be very interesting. Maybe a Dreamcast buying guide on his channel or a retrospective on yours.
The year is 2025. Adam's house has become surrounded by in-boxed Casio Loopys and japanese dog games. He hasn't left his house in years and it'll be another week before more food supplies and obscure consoles are flown in via drone. Truly, this is the future Casio was hoping for.
When I moved to Japan in 1996 one of the biggest things for girls was Print Club - sticker printing arcade machines. They still exist. That's where this idea comes from.
It predated that boom. So they actually knew what was about to be popular, they just had poor timing, poor marketing, and basically struggled to get people looking at it.
The 5th generation was probably the most unique in all of gaming. The market was wide open with so many companies getting involved and taking so many different approaches.
Can´t wait for the moment you find a Casio Loopy with the Add On xD But yeah, that´s one of the consoles I read about like almost 10 years ago and was baffled as to how they would make a game console with a printer feature.
Adam - that Paris game is Kokin-chan's Fashion Party. It gets GREAT in the second half. You should do a live stream playthrough of it. You'll thank me and wont consider it a waste of time at all.... Perhaps do a printing speedrun video - you have a decent shot of being number one on the speedrun.com leaderboards...
Quickly, someone get me a drunk Japanese businessman so we can hear the proposal in drunken Japanese, because for some reason, that sounds a) terribly fucking accurate and B) Hilarious as hell to me for some reason.
If I had a shitload of money, I'd hire a development team to go over this thing and really push the hardware to figure out what it's capable of. Then, once we had the specs down, I'd have them develop a completely serious and mature horror mystery game for it; and use the printer feature to print out clues and other things that would tie into the mystery and gameplay.
What!? I've never even heard of this thing, and I thought I had heard of them all Stickers.... Okay, now I know why I haven't heard of it. I don't think you could even call this a video game console
Yeah, I think their aim was more like trying to create an electronic toy for girls using video game hardware. The 90s were after all a period of massive amounts of toy brands and gimmicks all making electronic tat.
I have a Jupiter ace microcomputer, which no one seems to have heard of, it did not sell well. I got it when I was 12 in1982, as I was into coding and liked the sound of Fourth. Most of my males friends in the Uk wanted to blast things, so got a spectrum. I was quite a nerd lol.
@@andrewnorris5415 In the mid 90s I had this crappy laptop looking thing that had some games. Don't remember what it was called, I was just frustrated my grandma didn't understand all I wanted was a N64 or a PSX
This actually kind of makes sense. If you've ever shopped for used gameboys online, ones in Japan are often covered in copious amounts of stickers, so if they had marketed it as an interactive sticker maker and priced it reasonably it might have done well.
Oh man I was laughing so hard at this thanks Adam. :D Maybe it's your destiny to acquire all the Loopies on Earth! Love all the obscure console reviews. Have a great 2020!
Knew this would be an awesome video. I would have been thoroughly unimpressed if I got this as a kid. I recently passed on a chance to get a Casio loopy, slight regrets, it would have been fun to tinker with. Needs homebrew games.
I was waiting for this one to come out. It's weird, the controller looks like a love child between the Super Nintendo shoulder buttons and the D-pad from the Gravis Gamepad.
thank you for bringing attention to this random console Adam! I may be one of the few, but I’m one of the minority who loves having the Loopy and all the weird things it can do. I literally just posted my own review of the system. Believe it or not, some of the games do show off some of the 3D capabilities of the system but in rarely known ways. One of the games you own is actually one of the harder games to obtain. I know you don’t like the system but would love to send over the add-on for you to try out!
The fact that you seen this freaking thing multiple times in a row in many different places, all of which were completely unexpected, by the way tells me that I think the "console" (if you can even call it that) was trying to tell you something.
Adam: Casio comes along and you probably best know them as the guys who make watches. me: WAIT... they make watches?🤯 I knew them as the guys that make Calculators inferior to Texas Instruments, and also as the guys who make keyboards. 0.o Learn something new everyday🤷🏿♂️
Dude you’ve seen all loopy’s left! They knew you were coming and went “shhhh, shhhhh, he’s coming quick put out the loopy...........” 20 minutes later “ see I told you I could sell anything!
Adam, what console would you recommend for my 4 year old daughter Kyla Marie? Which of these retro video game console from the '90s should she start off with? The '90s consoles we have in our home are an N64, PS1, SNES, SEGA Genesis/32X & Dreamcast.
I know from teaching roles I've had in the past that young girls usually love stickers and that type of creative thing. It could have been a success with a heap or marketing.
Honestly, a sticker printer in a game console is kind of a neat idea actually. It's like the old school version of screenshots, but instead of posting them online you have a sticker to put on things. I think Casio would have been better off selling this thing as an accessory for printing images from other game consoles instead of it being its own thing. Also your story was hilarious. My uncle once told me that every time he bought a car, he would start seeing other people with the same model everywhere he went. I guess the same is true about Casio Loopys.
You're the chosen one. When you collect all the left Casio Loopy's avaliable in the world, you will will be somonned to Zordon's lair and select a group of five heroes and they'll gonna save tghe world with they're CASIO morphing devices.
@@AdamKoralik Dude, you just counted a gaming console that prints stickers for little girls. The HyperSacn was a gaming console tath uses CDs and playing cards. XD
Because that makes sense. The Casio Loopy is garbage, but hardware wise it was on par with its contemporary rivals. It was meant to compete, even if it got destroyed. The Mattel Hyperscan did neither. It was meant to con cheap parents.
this was insane, I had no idea this thing existed! I laughed a lot! hahahaha, imagine if instead of playstation 5 we were waiting for casio loopy 5? hahahaha
Hate to admit it, but the Ashens video on this made me want one. I'd print out all kinds of weird ass stickers and put them on payphones. ....I'm obsessed with payphones, and making prank calls from them. Any ideas for prank calls to GameStop Adam? I hope to prank call them quite a few times before they go the way of BlockBuster...

Thumb up if you too say “Figure it out” every time you watch one of Adams videos :)
Only if you've figured it out, though.
That guy. Ugggh
"The following video is part of our 'Quick Shoot' series of some kind, and is intended to aide the Dreamcast & gaming community, I hope you enjoy it." :P
or mention Shenmue. : )
I swear you two need to make a video together at some point. Would be very interesting. Maybe a Dreamcast buying guide on his channel or a retrospective on yours.
Lies. Everyone is a Japanese little girl at heart.
We need a Casio Loopy Homebrew scene.
The New Sega Neptune
casio loopy homebrew scene is the scene you go to when you're learning how to make stuff and you want a no judgement zone.
Contra 5 when?
Yes
Lets port doom to it
Kingdom Hearts: I have the most confusing sequel numbers ever
Adam Koralik: Hold my game console
LOL
honestly youve probably devoted more mental energy to this thing than the designers did
This video legitimately made me laugh audibly four times
hahah yeah I was laughing out loud at some parts too

Loved the video, and all of Adam's "Loopy" expressions.
Imagine in a dystopian future, this became a success and we had a new loopy console
I can imagine this being a 'Rick and Morty' episode.
Stickers would be plastered all over Japan.
Or the PV-1000 is the best console ever.
Loopy Series X
Adam you have spoiled us this month with retrospectives.
The 5th gen of gaming was crazy.
The fact that this "console" even has a review is respect.
The 5th generation was probably the most unique in all of gaming. The market was wide open with so many companies getting involved and taking so many different approaches.
Can´t wait for the moment you find a Casio Loopy with the Add On xD
But yeah, that´s one of the consoles I read about like almost 10 years ago and was baffled as to how they would make a game console with a printer feature.
The printer idea was borrowed from Nintendo. Nintendo had a camera and printer for the GameBoy, which I'm sure you're aware.
A new disorder discover by modern medicine : Casio Loopy's phobia. Symptoms : See Casio Loopies everywhere

The most powerful console of all time. THE LOOPY
The games sound incredibly lame but I love the grayish purple color of this thing. It’s so 90s.
"We're gonna make it....stupid"

Ok now this is hilarious. Bless this failure.
I bought this system the day it came out And I instantly turned into an insomniac and I have been playing this system every second since...

Lol that would be so funny
Adam will find 47 more Loopys before he finds an FM Towns Marty
I just noticed that stack of games moved next to him at 0:18
👻👻👻👻
Just started watching the 5th generation playlist today - new to the channel! Love the DC content and these recap videos
Dude you keep finding systems I never knew existed! I love your channel!
Your alternate universe description of the Casio Loopy had me dying😂😂

Then, once we had the specs down, I'd have them develop a completely serious and mature horror mystery game for it; and use the printer feature to print out clues and other things that would tie into the mystery and gameplay.
That's like....a good idea. They wouldn't have done it.
Huh...
I wonder if Roland/ Boss ever made a video game console now.
If they did, I bet Mr. Koralik will find it.
What!? I've never even heard of this thing, and I thought I had heard of them all

I see the thumbnail for a second and I already see how great this console is
Imagine to get this for Christmas as a gift and still expect a real gaming console when turning this thing on the first time.
I miss the days when all of the videos were a part of the "Quick Shoot Series"
I have one, and I did the facepalm after I bought it, and when it arrived. It is one of the consoles of all time.
Adam, you seeing all the Casio Loopies is a sign to collect every game for it
Are you loopy or something?
This actually kind of makes sense. If you've ever shopped for used gameboys online, ones in Japan are often covered in copious amounts of stickers, so if they had marketed it as an interactive sticker maker and priced it reasonably it might have done well.
This might be your funniest video ever for the story at the end alone, I'm laughing my ass off trying to not wake up my parents
Cool story dude! That's wild to see that thing so often 😂
The loopy belongs in an insane asylum because it's loopy 🤪
Amazing upload as always
I didn't expect to laugh but was pleasantly surprised! Good work as always, Adam.

Wow your Channel grew a lot since I first subbed great to see it man. Your a good content creator! Best of luck for finding new consoles to review :D
Never even heard of this console series until today, I'm feeling kinda LOOPY for being completely unaware of their existence

if you can get it for cheap, try it! it’s pretty goofy fun!
I love this series, didn’t know Casio made a console, I had a Casio android phone that was super tough
Adam has gone loopy for Loopy
I was waiting for this one to come out. It's weird, the controller looks like a love child between the Super Nintendo shoulder buttons and the D-pad from the Gravis Gamepad.
Just your thumbnail alone 😂😂😂
Just turned on the computer. It's a pleasant surprise to see a new video!

I think the name of the console alone just defines your whole experience with this thing and how life is just one big loop.
You're cursed Adam, that's the only explanation. You're cursed to bear the brunt of home console preservation.
You are doing the Lord's work kind sir!!!
Whenever a little Japanese girl is born, Adam encounters a CASIO LOOPY.
10/10 Console, not a bad game on in :) Hope they do a classic mini version...
WOW! Pretty sure you made up a large portion of all Loopy sales in 2019...I would say congrats but it IS a Loopy so you get our condolences :(
Adam does the best drunk voice. ;-P

Adam. Only you could gab about this... THING for 18 minutes. Great work, I guess?

The “I just bought stupid retro tech” face .. I know it well lol
bhahahaha what a great and funny video :))) Awesome Adam :) I have never seen this console before LOL.

What Number would the Hyperscan be? It came out when the Wii, Xbox 360, and the PS3 where out.
Let's not talk about the HyperScan, O.K.? I'm still recovering from the trauma of playing it back when I was 13...
