- Coconut sap tapping is an incredibly lucrative practice for farmers, generating profits that are 8-10 times higher than traditional coconut sales in coconut-growing regions worldwide. The demand for coconut sap derivatives such as Coco sugar, Aminos, Sap vinegar, etc., is at an all-time high. However, despite its profitability, the tapping industry is facing a decline due to a severe shortage of skilled tappers. The increasing number of fatal falls from coconut trees has deterred workers from pursuing this labour-intensive and high-risk occupation, opting instead for more accessible and better-paying jobs.
NAVA Innovation has developed a disruptive and scalable machine that leverages AI, robotics and IoT to collect neera or toddy daily from the container placed at the bottom of the tree and eliminate day-to-day tree climbing of the tapper. This innovation aims to enhance productivity and enable coconut farmers to produce sap and value-added products on a large scale, thereby revitalizing the agrarian economy.
The technology is expected to revolutionize the coconut tapping industry by making it safer and more efficient. The device helps a tapper to tap 300 or more trees per day. The device is equipped with sensors that can detect the optimal time for tapping and can also monitor the health of the tree. This will help farmers optimize their yield and reduce wastage.

Nice idea for a proof of concept. Success will depend on the reliability of the system on top of the tree. Chethukaaranu pakaram technician kerendi vannal it might not make economic sense to adopt this. Also don't know the TAM of toddy products.

The device has rechargeable battery inside.
It can be charged via farm wiring or the device has solar panel attached with it.

Appreciating the innvotation...superb...But Not practical...bocz of plastic parts and all ..and wat abt defect rectification if any defects come you should every time depend on technical assistance...any way for observation the guy has to climb to the top then it's better to take it manually right...if it was fully automated without observation then it would have been wonderful
