The anime confuses me, doesn't he have a sandevistan, same as David allowing him to slow time? Basically a cheat code. It isn't like we don't see other people using some form of slow sandevistan as well (that one big dude after time skip David encounters).
@@0zWiz The game came out in December 2020 and anime came out in September 2022, so I doubt the developers planned on Adam on have the sandevistan, it might of never existed prior to the anime. I never played the game, others might explain it better than me.
Dude, morgan blackhand legit used primarily non-lethal ammo. Aint no way he'd have dropped smasher, *choom* . Ngl, he tied smasher during *never fade away* , sure, but dude... that was entirely because of the nuke aiding him in the tie, not the nuke stopping a win. The whole fucking N.F.A. MODULE legit states that.
The fact V defeats Smasher with one foot in the grave due to the Relic shows how insanely powerful he is as a solo at the end of the game. Even more so considering that Smasher gets the drop on him and catches him completely defenseless at the beginning of the fight. V absolutely earns his rep as a living legend at the end of the game.
I think Morgan would let Adam live so he could etch into Adams mind that nothing he has belongs to him. Not his body, not his power, not even his life. He would live only because Morgan alowed him to, which would mentally destroy Adam.
Okay, but that's kinda petty. Considering the death-toll Smasher racks up when just doing regular missions for Arasaka, leaving him alive is a dick move. A shit-ton of innocents would die between when you spared him and when he gets put down later. You're kinda hoping Bastard Smasher just goes psycho in a Arasaka facility as soon as he gets a new body...
Problem with that is Adam always explicitly goes for maximum civilian bodycount. Arasaka protects him from legal liabilities. Is the satisfaction of humiliating him worth letting him go on to keep mass murdering innocent people for decades to come?
I remember reading Morgan Blackhand often ignored Adam Smasher, meaning he likely didn't even think of Smasher that often. Meanwhile, Smasher was obsessed with beating him
Makes me wonder how strong Goro really is when Michiko's bodyguard is so skilled. Doubt Saburo would settle for him if he wasn't at least comparable. Even V says something along the line that they weren't sure if they could beat him even in his sorry state.
It was shown that smasher is resistant to quick hacks in the anime was it not? I believe Lucy was described as a talented netrunner and shown to be particularly good at cracking Arasaka tech and she couldn’t hack him. I think netrunners deserve a spot or two on the list.
Yeah I know, but comeone Rache Bartmoss level, DataKrash virus. There's no way V can use quickhacks on Smasher and Rache wouldn't be able to. Thanks for the comment!!
@@Giga_Nerd I think V being able to use quickhacks on Adam Smasher is just gameplay but not lore accurate, similar to Adam being a pushover gameplay wise. I think Adam is very resistant to quick hacks or can become aware he is being hacked. Example we as the player can get a skill that allows use to identify who is hacking us, so who is to say Adam does have the same skill(probably safe to say he does because he immediately looked at Lucy after her failed attempt), so Adam can single out who is attempting to hack him and use his sandevistan to take them out before they can finish.
@@Giga_Nerd Or...V is just a (potentially) better netrunner than Lucy. Just like he's a (potentially) better melee brute than David. I'd even go so far as to argue that Netrunner!V is on par with Bartmoss and Cunningham. The difference between them being their specialties. Bartmoss killed the 'Net, Cunningham created Soulkiller, and V's specialty is quickhacks and using them in small unit combat.
@@anthonyroberts7486 The way i see is this, to defeat Smasher you need sandvistan, nanowire and lots of agility. By having sandvistan, V can even the power of Smasher, nanowire is an incredibly op cyberware, in game is essentially the most op melee weapon because of it's reach. agility and reflex is what would give the edge to V, if both use sandvistan, Smasher is still slower and bulkier than V, and thats how V get the upper hand.
What’s more impressive is that she was trained using Arasaka tech as a child. Although after seeing her encounter with that Cyberpsycho in the show and how all she was able to do was short circuit/overheat him with minimal damage, I don’t think she could defeat Adam Smasher.
You gotta remember Adam Smasher is waaaayy more equipped compared to 50 years ago in 2023. V is the greatest combatant in Cyberpunk lore so far. Would manhandle Morgan Blackhand.
Indeed. Also the anime makes everyone stronger than the game lore. David was one-shoting multiple tanks and drons, then Adam smasher just tossed him around like it was nothing.
@@richpirhana9521 No that was V. David was dipping in and out of cyberpsychosis. However, Lucy “brought him back” and for the majority of the fight he was sane when fighting Smasher.
@@stickplistick3643 it doesn't "kinda". Lemme explain: V is so monstrously strong, that after the first early levels and fights, you already start to feel how massively outscale enemies. If you are not overrun by sheer numbers, you cant lose. The game may make enemies look "weaker" than in the anime of edgerunners, but that isn't because they are. Its because V is that much of a different type of beast. V is the pinnacle of Cyberpunk power at this point in time, (Living) legend, V solos anything in the cyberpunk universe at this point.
All my V builds were always trigger happy gremlin... no stealth, quickhacks, sandy or berserk. Just the biggest bang i could get. Its why i absolutely loved beccas style of combat :D So no mercy for anyone whos on the other side of things.
I did that but with swords. And at Street Cred 27 I got my sandy and had gotten so good with swords and mantis blades that I ended up clearing entire rooms in a heartbeat. I killed Oda before he even hit me once and in like 3 seconds.
7:15 there's one more aspect to this - Johnny ASKS you to kill Smasher. So in V's pants it's not only a personal decision but probably heavily influenced by if you want to grant Johhny his dying wish or piss him off.
Just to note, quickhacks aren't really a thing in the lore. CDPR made them so that techno wizards could exist and Edgerunners sort've ran with the idea, but networks in the universe are pretty isolated due to the blackwall, meaning wireless networks serve very little purpose. And guys like Smasher didn't have anything like that. Again, this was changed up for gameplay so that techno wizards could be a thing, but that's not how the lore works.
It might have become a thing in the 50 years since the original tabletop and books, and...I think it's 30 years since RED? A weak explanation, but one that's at least semi-plausible.
Indeed R.Talsorian books cover until 2045. The videogame it's ridiculous you can be a stupid looking weirdo killing Adam with a dildo as a weapon. So you see a lot of self insert people saying "V (ME) it's the strongest character in the universe of Cyberpunk...a GOD among men that gets all the chick's (LIKE ME) and everyone shit bricks and sweat bullet's when V ( who is ME) tells them who he is".
@@Syenthros Just to note, it really wasn't supposed to exist in 2077 either. It was a very late addition, which is why the story never acknowledges it. For example, of even though we encounter numerous netrunners and hackers throughout the game, they NEVER use quickhacks in scripted sequences and instead need to physically connect to do anything. Wireless networks just don't exist. If they did, AI would annihilate everyone. Quickhacks are in the game so they could do mage builds, but aren't supported whatsoever in the lore.
@@Hobbes09R Fair enough. I've really only just started doing a deep dive into the lore and world of Cyberpunk since I'm trying to do a Savage Worlds conversion, so I'll defer to your greater experience. With that being said, though, with the anime also showing Quickhacks being a thing, I think it's safe to say that quickhacks are now a canonical thing, at least in CDPR's 2070s.
@@ericdrost638 well David tried to escape with Lucy and Adam was like, Do I look like a generic anime villian that waits until she is safe. Nah you're at disadvantage and I'm going to abusive the shit out of the situation.
I like to image V walking in, eat all the rockets Adam can throw out, turn on Berserk and just Gorilla's Arms in Smasher's face like an unstoppable God.
This is actually the dumbest way to handle a lore fight between V and Smasher... Smasher is full borg, V isn't, in my opnion, V defeat Smasher by outmanuvering him. V is more agile, and faster than Smasher and if you use Adam SMasher from the anime to fight against V, well, V would actually need sandvistan to defeat Smasher, but here comes reflex and agility, Smasher is heavier and bulkier than V, by both having sandvistan, V has the upperhand. Also i would add that Smasher likes go personal, his armor is incredibly resistent to bullets, even from high calibers, BUT there one weapon that not only can take down Smasher but play with his, close combat thirst, the nanowire. If you don't know what a nanowire is, it is a weapon that can cut matter almost at molecular level, steel is like butter for a nanowire. So how V can defeat Smasher? Sandvistan, agility nanowire.just cut the bastard until he is just scrap laying on the floor.
@@efxnews4776 Cannonically or at least in the anime, smasher has sandvistan as well. The fact that he doesn't use it in the game is because it would have been outright cheesy for him to curb-stomp the player if they are not prepared..
@@BeyondDaX no the fact that he doesn't use in the game is actually poor design by CDPR part, it would be a much better fight if he has sandvistan, and it's not like V didn't face enemies who do have snadvistan before, V can defeat a sandvistan Smasher in game.
Ehhhh. Idk, like he fully booted the sandevistan, still got insanely beaten. The rest of the mods after the sandy were just minor upgrades. You honestly may be right tho
@@depression_rx1832 well to put it into perspective Adam is basically David to V going into their fight if I worded that coherently. David literally was on deaths door anyways over there taking power naps, talking to his dad mom and he was stuck in a bulky frame. And atp David didn't care anyways, he saved Lucy. If David actually was set on defeating Adam and didn't have everything going against him im sure it wouldn't have been anywhere close to the squash in the anime
@@gambeanoAdam still would’ve slaughtered him. David wasn’t knocking on deaths door he was becoming insane, 2 totally different things meanwhile smasher wasn’t even taking him seriously. @@coconuttwee7288 wtf is with yalls obsession with v? He/she is literally marry sue character with plot armour with no explanation for her potential. V is strong because he/she's a main character so writers can pull any shit out their ass. In fact V isnt even a character. She is as much of character as the one you creat in skyrim.
@@MildlyHumorous-cq1nn erm how do I explain this to someone who just doesn’t understand the whole plot? V is literally immortal with the chip in his brain until it rewrites him I mean ffs one of the PL endings showed that without the chip and his implants he was just an ordinary guy. Call him what you want but he messed with arasaka and rogue ai’s he single handedly took down Adam smasher and other big bosses like Kurt Hansen and takemuras student also being a main character doesn’t necessarily give them plot armour V is destined to die if you want real plot armour they could just gave him the cure and he carries on being the best merc in night city
As soon as he put the cyberskeleton he was doomed to fail. His advantage of be lighter and more agile than Smasher was gone, he was stucked inside something even heavier than Smasher, even with sandvistan, he was slower than Smasher. To my perspective this is how V defeat Smasher, Sandvistan, Agility and reflex, and a weapon of choice, but i dare to say that V actually used the nanowire to defeat Smasher.
David was going Psycho before he hooked up with the proto-type. Maybe if the Team had convinced him to power down and get some therapy he would have stabilised. He certainly could have used more combat experience, especially against high threat targets. David was pretty reliant on his Cyberware to carry him through fights.
there would be no chance, since the durability of David's suit would still be at the same level, which Adam could easily destroy. Did David get any injuries after the fight with Adam
I think he probably coulda won or it wouldve been really close if David didnt just spend the last half hour fighting Militech, he literally needed to take a 5 min power nap in the middle of it. David couldnt really even use the Sandevistan anymore after AS caught up with them.
I played CP2020 for years. At a certain point in a runners career, regardless of spec, it all boils down to prep work. Any of the top runners could take Smasher. Problem is is that Smasher is sponsored by Arasaka and none of them want to deal with the shitstorm that taking him out would throw their way. The only one I can think of that wouldn't give 2 shits and drop Smasher in a pico second is Rache Bartmoss. But Rache had other priorities.
@@Rennyyl No where in the original source books does it say that Smasher is unkillable. Difficult target, yes, unkillable, no. He has been very near death on at least 2 occasions, both of which lead to him becoming more metal than meat. Over the years of my playing CP2020 and CP203x, I've had several characters (mostly Solos and Netrunners) and teams that could drop Smasher with out even slowing down. In the TTRPG, his skills are pretty much average for a top runner. His physical stats are near perfection and his other stats are those of an average human. the biggest hurdle one has to get over is his armor rating. It is VERY difficult to penetrate 40+ SP.
@@Dumascain tbh I cannot argue that, I actually want to try the original game once I found out that the cyberpunk video game was based off of it, but the cyberpunk game is technically “canon” (Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the board game was the consultant of the story). The fact is Smasher killed most of the legendary net runners while still being the most dangerous man in night city until V killed him. And this happed while he had the drop on V. V is by far the ultimate edge runner and legend of night city, even Pondsmith said it He wasn’t a walking tank at the time like he is in 2077, but he’s still the ultimate edge runner villain that V killed
I read Blackhand lore before 2077 released. He can finish any extremely dangerous combat by himself and without killing anyone, what a fucking legend! Then i was hope i can meet him in the game......but the only thing i get was his armor set, Kinda disappointed honestly......Let's pray that we can finally see him in Phantom Liberty💥💥
Apparently, this is because Mike Pondsmith asked for Blackhand to be off limits when the game was created. Fingers crossed we get him in the dlc as you mentioned :)
The lore and stats are very different. Blackhand has very litlle cyber but his skills are impressive. So you figure he is sort of like Batman. He plans in an extremely meticulous way, fights dirty, and isn't too proud to run if it aint going his way
@@Giga_Nerd I think this will be the only DLC for this game. I believe CDPR has seen potential of this game and they will expand the universe but in another game as i think they will drop redengine completely and go to unreal 5.
@@Giga_Nerd He might have his own designs for Blackhand. You know I have nothing to back this up but he might just be Mike's PC or one of his players PC's. Gary Gygax the creator of D&D also had a PC that is still active to this day in the forgotten realms lore. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. If that's the case, we might never see him in game.
The lore states that Blackhand is the best there is. Not that he carries no metal, though. With the CP2020 game mechanics there's no way MB can win a head-on fight against a cyborg in powered armor like the one Smasher wore at the end of the Fourth Corporate War and the fall of Arasaka Tower. His best chance would be shooting from afar while on the fastest Sandevistan or Kerenzikov boosterware he can find. But on a one-to-one? MB is so outmatched I can't even start describing why.
How about defeating Adam Smasher through social engineering? He's been able to become and stay powerful only through the patronage of Arasaka, so if someone could convince them that he's enough of a net liability that terminating him is in their best interests, he's not going to last very long.
anyone can beat the guy with enough prep because being a known name means that there is a lot of information on your move set, fighting style and combat gear. do enough digging around and youll find your way to destroy anyone if thats is your main objective.
Random but did anyone notice when David moved to escape arasaka tower with Lucy, and shortly after he started moving smasher also did, Adam smasher wasn’t using his sandevistan. That was just his pure Borg speed. It was nearly as fast (he actually hit David as well) as David’s heavily modified apogee with simply his Borg speed. And David already had a military grade leg implant and a linear frame.
Next to Smasher V is probably the most upgraded person in night city after playing and noticing cyber psychos aren't chromed much. I wasn't as pissed about walking over Smasher
Takemura might be able to defeat Smasher. If he was chosen to be Saburo’s personal bodyguard then it must mean that he was extremely skilled and talented. Same goes for Oda since he was Hanako’s bodyguard.
I think if David had his mods on instead of the cyber skeleton he had a chance of winning since his speed was insane with his foot modes. Not only that but it seemed like the cyber skeleton was made for wiping out large groups and was not designed for one on one combat. His actual set up would be better for fighting one on one imo.
Me and a friend have the same stance that if David had just focused and practiced more with his Cyberware he had during Episode 7, he wouldn't need the cyberskeleton. His uses of the Sandevistan is so God Gifted that it's probs the only implant on him I would consider as the one most natural. I'm assuming his right arm is a Gorilla Arm, and also considering his left is Maine's but scaled down, a Gorilla Arm with a launcher crammed in. Some better skin armor would help with his durability. TLDR; Overall, David had all the tools, he just needed more of the skill.
You guys remember that Smasher has a Sandevistan, too, and matched David's speed step for step? "Rudimentary implant." The only thing that made David special was his above average tolerance for using cyberware, he wasn't actually any better at *using* it than anyone else, he could just use it more often. Which isn't a weakness Smasher shares since he's a full borg
@@Syenthros David had mods to his feet to make him fasters. It's why when the hammer guy activated his David was still faster. Adam smasher seems like a character who tries to talk his opponents down to mess with their head. He also called the cyber skeleton a toy but then tells David he was waiting for his meds to run out hunting that when someone makes a big deal about something he tends to talk it down out of spite and not the gears actual quality. Not to mention he is extremely arrogant in general.
@@kylecaraway8662 You think that full borg suit is just for show? Adam Smasher is faster than David, packs more armor than David and is stronger than David. You think he fights by getting in people's head? No. He just wasn't taking the arrogant little kid playing with cyberware far beyond his skill level as a threat. The *only* reason David wasn't killed on the top level of Arasaka Tower is because Smasher wanted to have fun. Killing people is a game, one he revels in and killing David too fast wouldn't have been enjoyable, and once he *stops* playing around he casually tears apart the super weapon David destroyed entire armies with In no universe was David anywhere close to matching Adam Smasher.
Adam Smasher is more like a biological A.I inhabiting a modified body at the end but I think that a strong enough rogue A.I with enough resources could pull him from his body.
Interesting point, but I agree. The best way to defeat Adam completely is to defeat him but spare his life. His ego will be crushed. He lives by the "chrome is better than flesh" mantra. So having Morgan defeat him, but spare his life, shows that he's wrong about his worldview. That could easily make a highly devoted chrome-sucker like him go mad.
He's literally a psychopath and doesn't give a fuck because he feels no empathy or emotions. Of all things, sparing him would make him kill MORE people.
From a game lore perspective V is the strongest character in night city out of any other physical character displayed in game. With Adam being ultimately second to V. I’d even argue that Morgan and any other solo character mentioned would also fall to V or lose their mind by default trying to even get on v’s level of modification. Make no mistake being chromed up is better than little to no cyberware. In the game you can see first hand that guns really aren’t the pinnacle of weapon choice. Quick hacks by far in terms of literally only having to see your target via any means in order to kill or subdue is from a gameplay/game lore standpoint more powerful than anything else conceptually. However utilizing a sandy just like in the show with a blades build is still more effective than guns leaving berserk as a pretty gonk brained choice considering the other two give you the option to avoid combat all together and or subdue all targets without putting yourself in harms way.
I feel like David if he had more time to master the the cyber skeleton and wasn't under cyberpsyhosis and drug sideeffects he had legit chance against him.
Smasher is already a 'high-functioning cyberpsycho' (Pondsmith's words) I always let Smasher live for this exact reason. Defeat him on my own terms, not his
Can’t help but feel like when you made this video you completely ignored the fact that Morgan only ever fought Adam before he went full borg and got access to top of the line military cyberware. The Smasher we know is leagues stronger then the one Morgan ever had to deal with.
Yeah man totally get it. And honestly when I first read the sourcebooks I would flat out say yeah you're right. Even when they fought at the tower, Adam already went through most of alpha team and morgan still couldn't finish him off. I just have a feeling Mike Pondsmith isn't going to let his baby lose to Smasher 😬.
@@Giga_Nerd lol I still think Morgan could probably win. Adams a meat head, and Morgan’s kinda known for his tactics more then his raw combat prowess. But I highly doubt he’d be able to take current Adam head on.
This is random but I love BioWare, so had a thought, you know how in the game you’re practically a Borg when you have one of each cyberware? BioWare is like 70% as strong as cyberware, but in Scandinavia it’s BioWare is far stronger, so if you enhanced everything with Scandinavian cyberware, would you practically be a Borg without being able to be hacked?
I also think V can go 1 on 1 vs Blackhand since they pretty much went solo for 80% of the game in addition to defeating many strong people like the leader of Animals, who is considered the strongest in the gang, Oda, and Adam "You-look-like-a-cut-of-fuckable-meat" Smasher. Went solo against Arasaka, Maelstroms, Scavs, and the Voodoos. Finishes gigs clean and smooth (if you made it that way). Adam "Told-You-Johnny-Boy" Smasher is also considered the rival of both Blackhand and Silverhand who are both legends and V defeated him while ambushed and one foot on the grave. Also last but not the least, Johnny asked V to kill Adam "Your-meat-is-failing-you" Smasher.
Plus to add to the list. By the time v fight’s smasher he was low on ammo do to his at least hour long rampage thru the tower. Plus he has vary little tech at max compared to a lot of the other legends. base v even less then blackhand and all none combative.
V would Neg diff blackhand. Like V was sick, dying, injured, tired and he still beat Adam smasher and Smasher had help from a bunch of soldier and V still solo all of them.
If David faced Adam from the momment he put that exoskeleton on he would have wiped his ass easily. We saw how he performed against Militech but by the time he fought Adam, David was worn out, fighting to maintain his sanity and out of supresants
I am convinced that in a fight with Smasher, Morgan Backhand would just leave smasher at 5 hp and just dodge and parry without attacking for a good 5 min lol, just to let it sink in.
It's not really on the lore, but you could build solos on the tabletop rpg game that could kill smasher rather consistantly if you min maxed you character correctly. I did once, a while ago, so i don"t remember the exact details, but god damn you can become a real killing machine and don't even give the guy a turn.
I think David would've taken Smasher if he wasn't in the exoskeleton. By the time of the end of edgerunners David was chromed to the eyeballs like V. He was also determined to save those he loves. If it was a straight fight between David's crew and Smasher I don't think he'd have a chance.
I mean no offense, and while I can't disprove if David would have had a chance without the exoskeleton, his crew got *absolutely bodied* I honestly don't think they'd stand a chance even if David wasn't in the exoskeleton. Maybe if Smasher didn't surprise them and they had actual prep time. But that's not how Adam operates and would be high balling the crew instead of keeping it realistic.
I think James Norris, the cyberpsycho from the start of edge-runners could give Smasher a run for his money. He'd need a higher caliber weapon to pierce Smashers armour though...
@@negativity5540 I think that had more to do with the caliber of weapons. Maxtac are basically bullet proof, but David had anti armor weaponry. My man David weren't even dodging as well as Mr Norris.
Tbh, I don't think smasher cares if he's given mercy He probably already thinks of way planning revenge when his body is recovered. That's why keeping him alive would actually cause more death than offing him. If Morgan Black hand don't want unnecessary people to die to such an more robot than human being creature.. he would just end it here and there. It's basically like destroying a drone.. the drone didn't even had any humanity in it and only knows to kill/doesn't thinks much about being spared but plans it's next attack even before death. Smasher lost all his humanity basically so sparing him wouldn't really embarrass him(I think his mind is too limit for such feelings... He only wants to see death or not.. if he doesn't dies or almost dies.. he would just shrug it off(missing rational thinking and emotions) and adds more Cyberware to get stronger If he feels like he isn't). Then right back to the battlefield... Tbh I think he's also too much of a coward to accept death or losing so it serves him well.
Morgan sounds like a beast even if don't use that much in dlc in future for 2077 but I would love to have a game that's based on him and get to play as a younger version of him though his life all the way up till he disappeared
I think Martinez could have won but by the time he got to smasher it's was hours after being drugged up and he was bleeding like hell alongside he was more just trying to buy time than anything else RIP David Martinez
Soon, hahaha he's fun. But not yet. Gonna cram some edgerunner related characters and then I'll move over to less known characters :) Edit: dope dp btw :)
I've yet to play through any ending. This is actually the first time I've seen clips of the ending gameplay, I've just read descriptions of what happens. I refuse to finish the game when no ending lets you survive, all end in your / V's death, whether it's now or just delayed a couple months. The "Good Ending" still has V slowly die over another half a year, just with Panam. There are SO MANY plot threads in the game that could be used to justify V surviving. Basically none get used. Judy's bineural dual-track BD sync could do something, Nomad tank tech similarly may relate. The Peralez mission introduces us to a shady organization that can rewrite neural pathways and egos. I feel like I'm forgetting at least 3 other potential contributions toward surviving. But yeah, My V as a Netrunner could certainly pulverize smasher, provided he wasn't randomly immune to Quickhacks because the devs say so, like they do with some bosses. (Like Maiko randomly being immune for no reason) because nothing says game balance like making important enemies completely immune to an entire playstyle of combat. Equivalent to saying an enemy is immune to all ranged weapons.
Hahaha yeah, they should work on Cyberpunk 2077 ...2 or something where V's alive. But yeah it's too bad you haven't finished it yet. Netrunning is the way for real though.
Everyone talks about "making him feel embarrassed or pathetic" or "teaching him a lesson" common guys.. we talk about "Adam.Smasher" he's not your average human being to learn from such mistakes or feel such emotions. He probably tried to kill you even if he had one arm left that works, while being close to death. He only cares about killing and if he is showing mercy he isn't really embarrassed but more of "I will come back with better gear and already planned my next step" and that's what his mind only thinks even seconds before death. He lacks all that human rational thinking or emotions many have... Sparing him probably causes only more death lol. He's literally not human anymore, don't have high hopes for his character and it's development (mentally .. maybe for the worse). Only physically he will make changes to appeal even more in the next confrontation
The thing they should add is just going full Borg!!! I mean yeah v is chromed to the teeth but Smasher and I think Lizzy Wizzy are the only fully borged characters in the game
Anyone can kill anyone... ... They just need the right plot armor, To get some arbitrary nonsense to kill the other person However you can look at their archetypal strengths I guess... although that's a dangerous / sad game to play Canonically, If you get close enough for Adam Smasher to grab you, You'd fucking die. So V being melee against him is complete bullshit, As an example
@@BeyondDaX nah Boa Boa is dead (in 2077, at least). His niche is in the columbarium in-game, under his real name - Andrew Weyland. Don't remember hearing it was Smasher who killed him though.
I think letting Adam Smasher live is the power move regardless of if it’s V or Morgan Blackhand. Because what’s worse than dying when you’re as invincible as the unstoppable full borg monster that is Smasher? Living with the fact that you lost. Killing him is the easy option, he knows that he lost for 2 seconds before getting gunned down by V, but to live with it for the rest of his borg life that he can kill an army, but not this one person. Truly a fate worse than death for a (former) man as egotistical as Adam Smasher.
It's the really dumbass move. Let a powerful enemy live, so they can later kill your friends or associates, or do who knows what. Probably get rebuilt even stronger. Even if you can handle him, you can't be everywhere at all times. You have the chance to eliminate a potential threat, you do it and move on with your life. Why would you be so desperately set on doing the thing that will make him most upset ? Revenge ? Some ego BS that will bite you in the ass.
@@HiddenStr3ngth I wouldn’t say Ego. It’s more about principal. I mean when it comes to smasher, can a person change, even a borg? Is one ever too far gone to change? If a man who is thought to be immortal is beaten to an inch of his life, will he see that he’s no longer immortal? If you want to think more practically Even if you do kill Smasher, he could just come back again. The implication of Silverhand’s memory is that smasher was in Arasaka tower when it blew up. Either he survived two nuclear blasts and a building falling on him or he was rebuilt by Arasaka. Even if you do kill him, he could always come back anyway.
all of this, is riding on the shoulders of "if he thinks somewhat like a human" Imo, he doesn't, he couldnt give a shit. He loses, you let him live. "Pathetic human mind, compassion is weakness" he comes back stronger, built just to beat you. You're done

Adam Smashed is strong beyond the imagination, however though, he like 99% metal, besides his brain obviously. So Magneto pulls up lifts Adam in to the air before he can say anything rips his limbs off rolls him into a ball and sends him into the outer space. Without much effort.
I always view adam smash as different type of cyberpsycho pretty much hes enjoying becoming a machine and killing so doesnt affects his overall ability to think properly etc
Answer based on assumptions: lots of therapy, medication, a Gemini frame and a relatively regular life. If you're willing to become a brain in a jar, you're probably already a bit over the Edge. Not all cyberpsychos become violent, remember. But if you can *afford* a frame at all, you can likely afford the treatment.
Tbh, I feel like that list doesn’t do it. Adam Smasher didn’t go full borg until the Saka nuke incident. Smasher was originally weaker than black hand after being extensively modded. But full borg he is something else entirely. How do you even fight that?
Morgan Blackhand is MIA because nobody know what happened to him after his clash with Adam Smasher. So it’s unlike he would destroy him. Also Bartmoss being netrunner doesn’t mean he could beat any damn body. If it were that easy someone would have fried Smasher a long time ago.
Dont be dumb Adam in the game is as strong if not stronger then the one in the anime is just that CDPR cant do a good boss fight to save their life lol.

The anime confuses me, doesn't he have a sandevistan, same as David allowing him to slow time? Basically a cheat code. It isn't like we don't see other people using some form of slow sandevistan as well (that one big dude after time skip David encounters).

The game came out in December 2020 and anime came out in September 2022, so I doubt the developers planned on Adam on have the sandevistan, it might of never existed prior to the anime.
The fact V defeats Smasher with one foot in the grave due to the Relic shows how insanely powerful he is as a solo at the end of the game.

In the Devil ending, Takemura asists you in defeating Smasher, so lore wise we can easly tell he is monster.

Lemme explain:
V is so monstrously strong, that after the first early levels and fights, you already start to feel how massively outscale enemies.

I did that but with swords. And at Street Cred 27 I got my sandy and had gotten so good with swords and mantis blades that I ended up clearing entire rooms in a heartbeat. I killed Oda before he even hit me once and in like 3 seconds.
Zaburo told Adam Smasher to treat Michiko with respect and Adam Smasher treated her with respect. You can tell who is stronger here.
I guess that's how the lore works now 🤷🏽♂
It might have become a thing in the 50 years since the original tabletop and books, and...I think it's 30 years since RED? A weak explanation, but one that's at least semi-plausible.

Same goes for Oda since he was Hanako’s bodyguard.
um, david was basically dying by the time he got to smasher...
"Rudimentary implant."
The only thing that made David special was his above average tolerance for using cyberware, he wasn't actually any better at *using* it than anyone else, he could just use it more often. Which isn't a weakness Smasher shares since he's a full borg
David was just an average street rat who rose too high, too fast.

I feel all of that just hammers home how fucking beastly V is.
Quickhacks don't exist in cyberpunk lore. (well they do now cuz somebody wanted to release a trash game).
I feel like David if he had more time to master the the cyber skeleton and wasn't under cyberpsyhosis and drug sideeffects he had legit chance against him.

I doubt it, we literally see Adam face tank the gravity field then call David a cripple.
I am convinced that in a fight with Smasher, Morgan Backhand would just leave smasher at 5 hp and just dodge and parry without attacking for a good 5 min lol, just to let it sink in.
2077 doesn't do Smasher justice. He should have been a MUCH bigger challenge.
Unfortunately it does not, man ends up being a joke
It's not really on the lore, but you could build solos on the tabletop rpg game that could kill smasher rather consistantly if you min maxed you character correctly. I did once, a while ago, so i don"t remember the exact details, but god damn you can become a real killing machine and don't even give the guy a turn.
I think David would've taken Smasher if he wasn't in the exoskeleton. By the time of the end of edgerunners David was chromed to the eyeballs like V. He was also determined to save those he loves.
If it was a straight fight between David's crew and Smasher I don't think he'd have a chance.
I mean no offense, and while I can't disprove if David would have had a chance without the exoskeleton, his crew got *absolutely bodied*
I honestly don't think they'd stand a chance even if David wasn't in the exoskeleton.
No way, solely because he gets bodied by MaxTac. Smasher would demolish a MaxTac squad
Bro what💀 he got taken down by MaxTac💀 even MaxTax struggled with an almost cyberpsycho david while smasher literally was toying around with him
@@negativity5540 I think that had more to do with the caliber of weapons. Maxtac are basically bullet proof, but David had anti armor weaponry. My man David weren't even dodging as well as Mr Norris.
Tbh,
I don't think smasher cares if he's given mercy
He probably already thinks of way planning revenge when his body is recovered.
Who can beat Adam Smasher? V. Question answered.
i actualy let adam smasher live and not because of sympathy because he deserves none but more out of respect for how cool he is.
Woah that's a new take hahah. Not many people would agree, but I like that
No offense but that's some of the dumbest things i've heard.
Besides him saying “we’ll me again!” I was like “I hope so and before you do upgrade and train more!”
On one playthrough I hilled smasher with his own shotgun just for the poetic irony of it.
Morgan sounds like a beast even if don't use that much in dlc in future for 2077 but I would love to have a game that's based on him and get to play as a younger version of him though his life all the way up till he disappeared
That would be awesome, and yeah he is a beast regardless!
I think Martinez could have won but by the time he got to smasher it's was hours after being drugged up and he was bleeding like hell alongside he was more just trying to buy time than anything else
RIP David Martinez
Eh maybe, I still think smasher would've won, though albeit not without heavy injuries
Great video now i dont wanna kill smasher btw do you have in mind to make a video lore about kei arasaka?
Soon, hahaha he's fun. But not yet. Gonna cram some edgerunner related characters and then I'll move over to less known characters :)
Edit: dope dp btw :)
ngl doc fingers can solo smasher with ease
Hahahahah
I feel like David would have had a better chance at beating Adam smasher without the cyber skeleton since he wasn’t focused he was cyber psycho
He's literally not human anymore, don't have high hopes for his character and it's development (mentally
.. maybe for the worse). Only physically he will make changes to appeal even more in the next confrontation
Morgan is Solid Snake
Boa Boa is Doom Slayer
Ken Zaburo? He's Sekiro.
All good at what they do, and SS Class Solos. Smasher slayers.
Morgan is like Batman if he uses non lethal guns. But also fights like Solid Snake.
Sick comparisons!!
And V is what? God?
@@efxnews4776 No. Just a corpse with a variable killset.
I mean v obviously by the end game v is so chromed to the teeth he's the most borge human without going full borge
Tldr v is just chromed different
Nah Smasher is the most borg, he literally wears a borg suit
@@pedropierre9594 besides Adam V probably has the most chrome in night city by the end of the game
The thing they should add is just going full Borg!!! I mean yeah v is chromed to the teeth but Smasher and I think Lizzy Wizzy are the only fully borged characters in the game
@@Giga_Nerd And that is only IF V decides to detour away from the main quests and do small time gigs
Adam Smasher becoming a cyberpsycho doesn't sound like a good thing for Night City.
Who can beat Adam Smasher?
Frank Horrigan?
Frank Horrigan from fallout 2
adam smasher already a cyberpsycho, but letting him live hmmmmmmm outcome blurs the line of him wanting blood revenge or not caring at all
hes more like a metal animal
Anyone can kill anyone...
... They just need the right plot armor, To get some arbitrary nonsense to kill the other person
However you can look at their archetypal strengths I guess... although that's a dangerous / sad game to play
Canonically, If you get close enough for Adam Smasher to grab you, You'd fucking die. So V being melee against him is complete bullshit, As an example
I thought Smasher killed Boa Boa already!
Pfft nah, the game pretty much proves he is still around just by having his son around.
@@BeyondDaX nah Boa Boa is dead (in 2077, at least). His niche is in the columbarium in-game, under his real name - Andrew Weyland. Don't remember hearing it was Smasher who killed him though.
Not even gonna watch the video, just clicked on it to comment "me"
I actually did beat Adam smasher
HAHAHAHA loool
I don't know about you guys. But my V folded Adam Smasher like he was a wet towel. The battle suit cyber psycho's were way stronger and more deadly.
Johnny wand over here.
If you want to think more practically
Even if you do kill Smasher, he could just come back again. The implication of Silverhand’s memory is that smasher was in Arasaka tower when it blew up. Either he survived two nuclear blasts and a building falling on him or he was rebuilt by Arasaka. Even if you do kill him, he could always come back anyway.
all of this, is riding on the shoulders of "if he thinks somewhat like a human"
Imo, he doesn't, he couldnt give a shit. He loses, you let him live. "Pathetic human mind, compassion is weakness" he comes back stronger, built just to beat you. You're done
Jorah Mormont was an alright fighter tho. Only used to win some competitions
Oh lol I thought he was a bad ass 🤣
Hey can you go over the lore of doll chips I can't quite wrap my head around it lol.
Like Evelyn?
@@Giga_Nerd yeah that whole chip confuses me on why anyone would want to get it put in. I kinda get not wanting lasting trauma but I'm not about to give up my unconscious body to someone. The whole thing sounds terrifying. Like imagine they made you kill one of your best friends who was tied to a chair. You don't remember anything and try to call them the next day.
I think one of the cyberpsycho missions has a guy who lost it trying to save his daughter cause the Tyger Claws were trying to turn her into a doll
Chip is filled with malicious deeds around it and I hate it but it's interesting at the same time
@@raylowe6553 money, that's what it comes down to. They need the money and will do what it takes, granted there are some safe guards and if you work at say clouds then you'll be protected some what cause not many people would want to mess with the tyger claws
Magneto from X men. Is the answer to the question
Lool that would be sooo unfair. Makes you wonder why David didn't use that on him right??
Magneto might be strong, but he still only have human reaction, adam just need to activate sandy and make quick work, zoom in, punch him in the face, zoom out in less than a second
@@yeahboyz9314 Regular human reflexes aren't catching bullets like Magneto does.
@@Reoh0z more like he put a magnetic field around himself to stop the bullet
Adam Smashed is strong beyond the imagination, however though, he like 99% metal, besides his brain obviously. So Magneto pulls up lifts Adam in to the air before he can say anything rips his limbs off rolls him into a ball and sends him into the outer space. Without much effort.
Let him live that can make Adam feel like he is piece of metal junk
Oh pity I was spoiled a bit and I have no idea who No.1 is,but good video :)
morgan blackhand letting smasher live is like teabag and doing the L fortnite dance. Just for that I would show him mercy.
V can beat Smasher with high level tier weapons.
One thing I want to know is how full borgs dont go psycho
Right???? I did some reading on this, and couldn't really find anything in the sourcebooks
I always view adam smash as different type of cyberpsycho pretty much hes enjoying becoming a machine and killing so doesnt affects his overall ability to think properly etc
That's their secret, Borgs like Smasher were always Psycho's to begin with.
The average ACPA Trooper should be able to deal with him without much trouble.
Hahahaha. That's Appleseed, Gundam level now
Edit: dope teference btw, never even thought of them!
In-game. Even a child with proper build.
Now i wanna spare adam smasher
Plot armour
How tf does Rebeccas Shotgun have 8 shots for him? Not 6?
David from the show would 100% massacre Adam Smasher from the game ong
Dont be dumb Adam in the game is as strong if not stronger then the one in the anime is just that CDPR cant do a good boss fight to save their life lol.
The katana sandy cyberpsycho might kill him, I'd love to see that fight
Really beatin meat there buddy
The Solo of Solos Morgan Blackhand already did. Next question. XD
Lol he bearly beat a human Adam so he stand no chance on a full cybot Adam the only one who can do that are V.
How do u spawn Adam smasher in anywhere? Is there a console command?
Yeah I think there is, have not done too much digging into it though. But I'm not too sure
Andrew Wayland needs more lore and love tbh
Explain how you one shotted someone with the arm launcher? I'm assuming the gameplay recorded is after 1.6 which I'm pretty sure that's considered the worst. Was the gameplay recorded after that patch or are you using mods?
