⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Brand-New R211As Testing on the B & Q Brighton Line!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- Here, we see a newly delivered set of R211A cars undergoing initial tests on the express tracks of the Brighton Line, which serves the B and Q routes. Note the fact that the train was signed for B and Q service - it's certainly possible that the R211As will see service on those lines in the future. Enjoy!

The R211 looks beautiful on B and Q lines.
They don’t honestly the R46 and R68/A are perfect on Brighton
@@MasterTransit_MSDWolf8420 the r21a will look beautiful on any line, since it is a new, different addition to the system, but will ultimately be overlooked after a year or 2 in service. Beauty doesn’t run a subway system, reliability and service does. But after that, beauty doesn’t hurt lol.
UK here. Great. Will look even better when they've finished painting them.
Y’all trains are ugly as hell
Lmao. Let’s not roast other subways train. London Underground’s newer tubes are quite nice actually. MTA subway cars don’t get painted often. Only for promotional reasons, or modernistic Cuomo stripes occasionally. 😊
We've had a bare metal look for the past 40 years on the Subway, excluding the Redbirds because it was meant to be a ditterence to graffitti which was a giant problem on the system in the 70s. After the change, graffitti virtually fell off a cliff by the 90s. To keep it away, any new subway cars since the new millenium (R142's, 143's, 160's, 179's & 211's) have kept the bare look although some R160's have a blue stripe that runs on the top half of the cars along with that blue, black and yellow stripe on the 211's nicknamed Cuomo Wraps.
What are you even on about?
I can’t wait the r262 and r268
Can’t wait
2:23 Good ol “Shave n haircut”… :)
We need these on the B and D lines here in Manhattan & The Bronx, give the concourse a new look. I can see it now R211s from
Grand Avenue (Manhattan) to 205th Street (The Bronx), I live @Fordham Road and I take the D train to west 4th and Grand Avenue to play basketball, so yeah.
2:24 tho 🤣😂
The R211A would be perfect for the Q
The B are getting new train but the Q no
Was this today?
Also been waiting for the B Train to run normal again and they look nowhere near to finishing those elevators😢
yeah, its gonna be awhile. Rn they r like I would say 40 - 50% done. once they finish they will start on the northbound platform. I get to see progress everyday other then weekends cause my home station is church ave, I take either Q or B to to dekalb to go to college.
Lets at least hope they'll unveil a new CBTC along with those trains
Has the MTA decided to start CBTC upgrades on the 6th Av/Broadway/Brighton lines so operations of the R211 can begin once the R68/A are retired? They are almost 40 years old and the mantaince is ridiculous with new parts scarce to find and requiring cannibalization of other damaged units or in house fabrication for spare parts
dude the r68s/r46s could have improvement, i hope they add the r211s on the B or Q lines soon
Interesting odd consist of 5 cars.
❤❤❤❤ 0:46
Pls guys let’s start protest for these R211 to be on the B/D line !!
Please I hope soo. Those R68s and R68a are long done. Especially on the D Concourse Line.
R211 signed for (B) and (Q) service doesn't mean the R211s will go to these lines. (B) and (Q) are not getting them anytime soon because they don't have enough high ridership and with no CBTC in progress or installation. R211s are for the lines with 2/3 or 3/3 categories which are CBTC, High Ridership, and SMEES. The answer is we don't know the R211s are going to the (B) (D) (E) (F) (N/W) (Q) and (R) of either some of these lines are not.
Well keep dreaming r211 are going to the r46 line and will go to the metro north. if ya think that r211 are not going to the q, keep dreaming. they are getting that. the q will have m7a from metro north railroad for fleet expansion and some m3. the b will have m3 r68/a and p32ac-dm. the q will have r68/a r211 m7a and some m3a.
@@SulfurLazi Nope, the M7A and M3A Metro North Trains won't fit at NYC Subway at all. The (B) and (Q) are unlikely to have those anytime soon because they don't have enough ridership and with no CBTC in progress or installation.
Great video! I look forward to riding the new R11s. 😀👍👍👌👌🚇🚇
Ok The B Is A Definite No The R68s Will Be Replaced By R160s The Q Though Does Use R46s So I Know The Q Will Get Them Very Soon
Mystyped I Meant R268 Not R160
The M7A will go to the q train and the m3a will go to the b in the future for the rock man week and to celebrate the mta fleet.
Nah, the Metro-North or Long Island Railroad trains can't fit to the NYC Subway. There is no reason to do that. It's not slated.
The Q train via West End, fool!
📸
The B/Q ain’t getting these any time soon. Just because they were signed up as them does not mean they will be on these lines at all. The N/Q/W will remain with SMEE’s till their time comes that they get NTT’s. R160’s will be on the B/D.. quit dreaming that they will get these 211A trains. I love how people assume they will be on these lines.
how do u know the B/D are getting 160s. Sounds like everybody is just assuming whatever they want. The 160s may go to the N/Q/W, they may go to the B/D, they may go to the B/Q/N/W. Nobody knows
@@NorthKoreanComedian as far as nobody knows, your technically right. But most things have some sort of plan, that we can consider, or use with other information to predict. The MTA doesn’t have enough trains to integrate R160’s on every line. So whichever lines are considered, and projected to start CBTC configuration, will get the R160’s, and maybe a few r211’s, while the r68’s and r68a’s will get swapped in to facilitate the change. This is a concept we can derive from the G train situation, where the r46’s and r68’s were swapped with 5 car R160 sets, in order to prepare for the CBTC transition. But until things actually happen, even workers and enthusiasts have to just keep assuming or hoping. 🤷🏽♂️🥲
R160s Might Come Back?
@@brayanbarreramtaproductions They should. A very high chance of them coming to the Q line, especially with the 2nd avenue subway expansion, and retiring of r46’s.
@tridentstudios5709 true Cuz I Been Dying For Over 3 Years
Only for them to go on A/C -_-
yeah prolly
Only a matter of time before they start popping up on other lines 😎
Some interesting rolling stock swaps are coming up!
@@DJHTransportDo you know of any of these?
They aren’t going on the B/Q
Quit dreaming
@@railfannerjs6308 DJ is right! Some major rolling stock adjustments and change overs are coming to adjust for new projects, and improvements being made, and in preparation for some of these projects to begin. I’m not entirely sure of the exact changes that are going to be made yet, but I can predict a couple from what supervisors have told me, and gossip in the administrative community.
Do you think this new equipment is best saved for express lines for efficiency or doesn't make a difference one way or the other?
@@andyroth619 there really isn’t new equipment when it comes to these next gen trains. It’s just meant to be improved, modernistic trains, to upgrade the retro, low tech trains that already exist. Only few minor cosmetics and tweaks have changed between the R211, and the R160, beside a few other safety stuff, but nothing too significant. It doesn’t make a difference on whatever line it is used, in regards to the train itself. The CBTC is what makes the difference, and would be ideal on EVERY line. But express service/ rush hour service that is most used, definitely deserves the upgraded technology first in my opinion.
Yes, send the R46s and R68s to the A line where they belong. No more delays due to mechanical failures.
Forget about it. The R46s have been on the A for the better part of over a decade. They’re now being retired from the A and rightfully so.
@@BritanniaPacific 1st of all, no R68’s on the A line lolll. 2nd of all, the A train will definitely be the first in along time to rightfully run s fleet of only NTT cars. So far, those honors belong to the E,F,M,R,J/Z,G,L,2,4,5,7, trains. And the C train is basically almost all R179’s and R211T’s, with the final R46’s set to that line, being phased out completely. I find it crazy, that the B,D,N,Q,S,W,1,3,6, are all still running SMEE tech trains, along with the A, yet these lines are the most traffic heavy to some extent. The longer SMEE technology stays, the more risky it becomes for major system shutdown or failure. The old system would be perfectly fine, if not for the increasing demand on subway performance and consistency, weighed in with the multiplying population, and traffic density. It’s honestly crazy.
guys the q will have the r211a because it makes the broadway happier and the r211s will have a diesel-electric hybrid powered train because it will burn fossil fuels, and it will sound like a class 185 for a diesel. the option 1 order will be a short front chain like the r46 and it will be a diesel-electric hybrid powered train because it will burn fossil fuels so the mta and kawasaki will meet with Siemens and UK rail manufacturing companies to have the r211s to run diesel on those lines. the n will be disel to coney island to 8th avenue and be electric and betwen queensburo plaza and astoria ditmars blvd is the optional of they go electric or diesel. the q will be diesel from coney island to prospect park. also the p32ac-dm from the metro north are coming to coney island for the b and n lines. they will expand the q train to white plains and also qx to new haven. So here is the full information, so here is what will happen in connection to the NYC Subway, British Rail, Metro North, and LIRR changes in the future. The R211A for the Option 1 Order will be a Diesel-Electric Train and will sound like the UK's Class 185. The R211s will go N Q W because it makes the Broadway Happier and the N will run diesel between Coney Island and 8th Avenue and Q will run diesel between coney island and prospect park. also n and w r211 will run diesel between queensboro plaza and astoria ditmars blvd. when r211 n q w go to the tunnel they will be in electric mode. and class 185 from the uk are coming to run on the q line because it burns fossil fuels. broadway r211 will be a diesel-electric train because it will let burn fossil fuels. also the b and d stay r68/a and the p32ac-dm from metro north will be displaced and go to coney island yard for the b and n lines for fleet expansion. The M9 will be displaced from LIRR and go to the G line either coney island or jamaica and some m3 will go to the g. also the MTA is going to sent the metro north electric fleets to nyc subway coney island for 2 weeks. The M3 will go to Coney island yard for the b n and w and some for the g and q line. The M7 from the metro north will go to coney island for the N Q and W. This is to celebrate the rock man r211s on the n q and w and fossil fuel them wow. class 185 is temporary too on the q line. so when these trains in coney iland hapun there here this. B will have r68/a and 1 p32-acdm and the n will have r211 r68/a and p32-acdm and the q will have r68/a and r211 and the w will have r68/a and r211. the g will have most m9 and some m3. when rock man, fossil fuel them week comes than the b will have r68/a m3 p32-acdm and some m7 and the q will have class 185 r68/a r211 m7 and some m3 and the n will have r68/a r211 m7 p32ac-dm and the w will have most m3 r211 and some m7 and r68/a. so that is going to hapun guys oo h kae. the r211 after the n q and w will head to the metro north for fleet expansion. the q will be extended to the bronx and to white plains which is the last stop. there will be a qx that will run from coney island to new haven. the qx will be an m8. The Qx will run on the q between coney iland and brighton bech skipping west 8 street with stopping at ocean parkway then express from brighton to prospect park stopping at kings highway and prospect park and skipping sheepshead bay newkirk plaza and church avenue and then goes from prospect park to the bridge stopping at atlantic av and skip 7 av and dekalb av when it goes to the bridge skip stop grand street and makes all b and d express stops then runs on f line between 47-50 street and 57 st and on the metro north to 125 and on way to new haven. check the reply to see the q and qx stops. check to see more on the replies. now lets talk high sped ral. they will have a high speed rail from new york to los angeles. the high speed station in new york will be in coney island and will be coney island stillwell avenue interborough because the high speed rail coming to usa. the high speed rail will run on the q line from coney island to brighton beach and on the b to brighton beach to prospect park and create tunnels heading to new jersey and speed all the way there. also the there will be one from coney island to karina place near toronto canada which is halton hill so it will run from coney island the same thing from coney island to brighton beach on q line and on b line from brighton beach to prospect park and on franklin shuttle between prospect park and botanic garden and make a tunnel from botanic garden to the g line somewhere and head to the g until court square and make a tunnel to the bronx stopping at the bronx zoo. after the bronx zoo they will expand to westchester county or george washington bridge tu palisades parkway to rockland county going via ny thurway and to da highway between the ny thurway to binghamton and from binghamton to buffalo and go to switch option direction to toronto or halton hill and last stop in toronto or in karina house. the ny terminations are coney island and bronz coo or bronx zoo so i excite that. after the q train extends to 125th street. it will extend to the bronx and to westchester. please read the q train staps. the q train will have r68/a's and r211 and when metro north railroad run on the q line is still pending in mta once it approves. it will go there and it will be most m7 and some m3 and class 185. The q will have r68 r211 m3a and m7a class 185 and p32-acdm for rush hours. Here are the q stops from coney island to white plains: coney island-stillwell avenue, west 8 st, ocean parkway, brighton beach, sheepshead bay, neck road, avenue u, kings highway, avenue m, j, h, newkirk plaza, church av, prospect park, 7 av, atlantic av, dekab av, canal st, 14 st onion sq, 34 st hervard sq, times sq, 57 st, lex av 63, 72 st, 86 st, 96 st, 106 st, 116 st, 125 st, 3 av 138 st, 3 av 149th st, 163 st, 168 st, claremont pkwy crotona park, e tremont av, 180 st, fordham rd fordham university, williams bridge, woodlawn, wakefield, mt vernon west, fleetwood, bronxville, tuckahoe, scarsdale, hartsdale, and white plains. the q will run on brighton between coney island to dekalb and on broadway from dekalb to lex av 63 st to 2 av between 63 and 125 and to the bronx 3 av between 3 av 138 st to fordham rd fordham university and on the metro north harlem line from williams bridge to white plains. now the qx will be in the next repy. now for the qx, it will run on brighton between coney island and dekalb av and to 6 av between dekab av an 57 st and to metro north tracks between 57 st and woodlawn and to new haven line between woodlawn and new haven. the qx will have the m8s so here are the stops: coney island stillwell av, ocean parkway, brighton bech, kings hgihway, prospact perk, atlantic av, broadway lafeyette, west 4, 34 st, 42 st, 47 rockefeller, harlem 125 st, stamford, and then continues metro north to new haven stop there. this is how broadway nqw r211 will look like it will have short front chain like r46 and will be diesel-electric type train. the diesel sound like class 185. the model is 99% similar to base order r211a okay. B: r68/a and p32-acdm and when metro north tran come there it is m3 N: r68/a r211 and p32-acdm and when metro north tran come there it is m3 and m7 G: m9 and also some m3. it will be most m3 wen b and w no run on wekend. Q: r68/a r211 and few p32-acdm with shore liner and when metro north tran come there it most m7 and some class 185 and m3 QX: m8 and r268 W: r68/a r211 and when metro north tran come there it is most m3 and few m7.
Reasons are all false. Saying that R211s are going to the (N/W) and (Q) lines because it makes the Broadway Happier. The point is, the MTA doesn't care of anyone or Broadway getting happier. However, the (N/W) and (Q) do not have enough high ridership with no CBTC in progress or installation, so it is unlikely for those lines to have them. You think that the Option 1 Order of the R211A will be a Diesel-Electric Train because it will represent burning fossil fuels like come on, the Option 1 Order of the R211A has to be electric with third-rail power only. If the MTA put the R211A to be diesel-electric train is going to make the air quality worse and it is a bad idea. The MTA needs to improve air quality just like congestion pricing is going to happen. Why in the world and what is so special will the MTA and Kawasaki wasting their time of greeting a UK manufacturing company to add diesel on an R211A. That is not going to happen at all. The R211A has to be electric with Third-Rail Power. You think about changes in a few for the North-Trans Pennine and most for the NYC Subway, Metro-North Railroad, and the Long Island Railroad. He thinks that the M9 will go to the (G) line also the M3. Thinks that Metro North fleet will be heading to Coney Island and metro-north expanding to NYC Subway's property to Coney Island. That is never going to happen. The Railroad trains are not going to fit there at all because the Railroad fleet is big than the NYC Subway's A and B Division. You thinks that the (Q) line will extend to White Plains which doesn't fit, so what is the point of that!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
