⁴ᴷ⁶⁰ Brand-New R211As Testing on the West End Line
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- Here, we see a newly-delivered set of R211A cars undergoing initial tests on the middle track of the West End Line. Note the fact that the train was signed for D and B service - it's certainly likely that the R211As will see service on those lines in the future. Enjoy!

These look so clean and crisp 😮💨 I hope the B and D get this fleet very soon ‼️
That could been on the N and Q
The N W Q lines is definitely gonna get the R211As because they have R46S aswell. Because every body loves the N W Q lines. The N W Q lines is definitely getting CBTCS in three or five years from now because the rest of the R211As R211Ts has not gotten here yet. They definitely wanna do the 4 5 6 S lines for CBTCS. They are definitely gonna finish the G lines for CBTCS aswell.
If tjey put the R211A'S on the B & D lines that would be AWESOME
It’s certainly possible!
@@DJHammersTrains Yes, it's possible. Their testing these new trains on Brighton and West end cuz they are making sure they will run excellent on those lines!
@@bogdandjumakulov9883It’s also possible because 6th Avenue will be getting CBTC, and the B and D can used R211’s so they have compatible fleets.
With all the recent testing of R211A, with no open gangway between cars, and while the C only has two R211T sets in service with an open gangway, this begs the question: *where are the new R211Ts?*
we most likely wont be getting any more
Only 2 sets was ordered and likey no more
@@MJHmarc honestly im very frustrated with this choice they really should be moving more torwards open gangway to provide extra capacity and honestly i belive if a car has a hvac system that fails the rest of the train's hvac could supplement the 1 car's failing hvac
@@TSgotstolengoddamm I believe the MTA hasn't ordered more R211Ts due to the pause in congestion pricing which would ultimately fund the resources needed to continue the development of R211T subway cars. We might see more progress **IF** New York City recontinues its congestion pricing projects, or if people can finally stop evading the fare.
MTA only purchased two sets with an option to buy more
So far, we have 27 full R211A sets in service on the A and C right now.
Those r211 subway 🚇 cars 🚗 are awesome 👏 and Bellissima ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 2:17
Yesterday, few R211A has finally entered service on C line, and B & D could likely be the next one to get R211s as whole 6th Ave line is preparing for an CBTC installation
Precisely
I thought 6th Ave CBTC was on hold due to congestion pricing pause?
It would be interesting to see them run on Sixth Avenue, however, I don't know if Sixth Avenue is getting CBTC.
One thing I personally dislike is the default use of Kathleen Campion's voice for "The next stop is ... " and "This is ... " announcement. I understand that this is done for the conservation of storage space, but it's very out of place, because the B and D lines primarily use Catherine Chowdery's voice.
Another thing is that while Concourse's R68's would be transferred to Coney Island, the MTA is prioritizing on Broadway CBTC in its 2025-2029 capital plan. This is quite surprising but also can pose difficulties, because all other 'B' division lines would have CBTC (supposing if Sixth Avenue gets it) which would make it much more difficult to temporarily displace R68's during Broadway CBTC testing, though it might not matter at the end of the day since they would be replaced with the future's R268's.
6 Av will still get CBTC after 8th Av. So either the B and D gets R211s, or they’ll get the R160s from Jamaica. I think they’ll get R211s, but the problem is the B is based out of Coney Island unless it’ll be based out of Concourse.
Nice R211As testing on the Brighton lines!
I've been waiting for r211s on the west end line since 2012. Middle school me would be happy
I have ridden the West End line my entire life. Over 60 years. The newest cars are almost never sent there. I doubt we will see any 211's in regular service on the D any time in the foreseeable future.
The R211As on the B and D would be great! But wait will they replace the R68/As that are on the B and D or will that be for a future new subway fleet?
They have to wait for the R268/As to come and replace all the R68S R68AS on the B D trains and the N W Q lines aswell. The R211As R211Ts are assignments for a replacements of the R46S only. That's goes for the same exact thing when the brand new R262/As open and close ways for the A devisins iRT lines to replace all the R62AS R62S on the 1 3 6 S lines. The R68S R68AS and the R62S R62AS has to hang in there for a little while longer.
Why is the reason MTA isn’t buying anymore R-211Ts?
It’s a shame that I missed it completely especially that I just ride the D train today
I was at 20av when I saw an R211 B passing by so I got a recording of it, pretty cool
R211 (D) looks (D)ope!
Dope video.
Saw these at 62st twice hope they come soon!
Foreshadowing the option order, which preliminary fabrication work has already begun.
So finally the D line won't have to deal with any more R68s in the future I'm guessing?
In the future when the 6 av cbtc and eventual R69 retirements start but they could send the 160 from Jamaica there
@@AlgonquinRider810The R211s will not go to Jamaica for quite considerable reasons related to maintenance. It should be noted that maintaining 2 completely different trains could create a form of complexity already related to the divergent electrotechnical equipment through the costs. In addition, the transfer of each R160 or R211 element as well as the R68 are not free but expensive because of their routing. Yes, that's what railways are.
@@AlgonquinRider810 I don't see the R160s coming over since the E, F, R, and G rely on them due to those lines having CBTC.
Why the ny metro doesn't have gangways between the cars?
I'm still waiting for who will be contracted to build the R262.
The N and Q Needs New Subway Cars Over After the CBTC swap for the E G and R
It better not be CRRC
Matter of fact the N W Q lines is definitely getting CBTCS on the Broadway line.
Probably Kawasaki Nebraska. That's where the R211As R211Ts R212S and the M8S came from the same exact factory.
Likey Alstom or Kawasaki or both
The R211A will likely go for the D for the Option 1 Order after the C. Then it will go to other lines with 2/3 categories. The D has Aging of Cars and High Ridership.
Shoutout to that one guy with a thumbs up passing 55th
Is the R211s going to replace the R68s and R68As on the B and D lines
Possibility. If that does happen, the R68s and R68As will transfer to the N, Q, and W since they're not due for retirement yet.
They're just testing. Hard to say.
The answer is No . The R68S R68AS is staying put on the B D lines
Seem some r211s testing on the C line on my way to Coney Island today on the D train
Nice catch had chance to ride in it testing out of C.I
I wonder if it's staying on the D line ?
Where are the ones with open gangways?.
They’re running on the C line.
The R211A Subway Cars Testing On The B And The D NYC NY Subway Train Lines Anyways Already After All Whatsoever Period?!:-\
West End Line is gonna be CBTC-ed!!
The R211 trains have a similar sign to the vintage trains.
The destination sign returned after absent since the R38.
can we talk about why the b and d r211 signs look red, D train via 7th Avenue Line 💀💀
I hope the MTA will get more of the R211s
Testing is necessary. 🤞👌😀
I enjoy that video👍👍
R211A`s could go to the B and D because the r68 and r68a will go to coney island to make up for the r46's they are using or the r211A's cold go to coney island to make up for the r46's they are using when they retire and r68's cold stay on the B and D or r160's cold go the B and D from jamaca yard and r211's cold go to jamaca yard for the E F and R lines so they can test the r211's with CBTC sine 8th avenue will get CBTC.
Harris Jeffrey Williams Jose Thompson Maria
Nice finds.
Then watch another set for the A/C 💀
80k is coming up dj
I feel like the mta is hinting at the F train getting the r211a next because of their green omny ads
You’d be likely to see them on the D, hint hint 😃
@@DJHammersTrains That would be so cool 🙏
R211 making it's way to the B and D lines
So The D and B lines Is Gonna Get them
Yea, that's basically what I said
From what I just read. They wanna definitely do the N W Q lines for CBTCS on the Broadway line sence every body loves the N W Q lines. The R68S R68AS is not going nowhere until adleast three or two five or six years. I'm just letting you know that right now. Don't get your hopes wind up. Right now they are definitely focusing on the A C and the G lines for CBTCS
Fair point, plus the N W and Q lines mostly run with R46's or R68's as of right now
@@leecornwell5632 I don't really see that happening for now since 6th Avenue is overdue for CBTC, and since the F and M lines are already fully NTT, only the B and D are left. Also, if the MTA sends R211s to the N, Q, and W lines, then only the R46s will be replaced, and the R68/As will remain on those three lines, which means there will still be no possibility for CBTC on Broadway anyway, not until the R68s and R68As are replaced. It makes more sense for the MTA to send R211s and possibly R160s from Jamaica Yard to the B and D lines in order to transfer R68/As to the N, Q, and W, replacing its R46s, hence allowing CBTC for 6th Avenue, and Broadway will have to wait until the next order of newer trains.
They should put r211s on the Q train instead of r68s
The R211s aren't going to the Q line since Broadway CBTC isn't coming anytime soon and it doesn't have enough high ridership.
The Q train via West End, fool!
Get out bot 💀
R211s finally entered service on the B & D 🎉
Wow this one is very much memorable for when the Melanite brother used to be a Seamark psychosocial club house member in the urban section of Gravesend when the R42s was still in service recall on a daily basis so seeing the R211As been tested along the West End line is definitely a excepational good regiment that both the R68As will share with the R211As .😊😊😊😊
NICE 😎
