The delicate translucent appearance of this craft and the beautiful rich purple makes me think of a precious gem. The way she dances so freely and gracefully in the clear coastal air is pure poetry in motion. As she frolics in the sky like a ballerina and almost teases one with those elegant maneuvers, she tells me her name is Amethyst Dancer.
This is easily my favorite glider of yours so far. From the beautiful transparent purple to the pointy horizontal and vertical stabilizers in the way that thing flies, incredible! Thanks for sharing.
@@elmar2B The Ocean Breeze is the only design I've tried to draw up a proper plan before starting the build. A friend then digitised them for me, so they could be uploaded. Normally I just draw an outline and then make up all the detail as I actually build. It's really hard to then reverse engineer a complete plan.
I would call it the "Agiletto" for Agile-Stiletto. The ability to slip or fly "sideways" without changing direction and keep flying straight and level is extraordinary. That would be a highly desired capability for crosswind take-offs and landings, as well as cruising with a rear-quartering tailwind for full size aircraft. Your flying and video work is always the best. Excellent design!!
@@SlopeRCGliders I've watched many of your videos, always good, well edited with great music. I love your designs and your passion for the hobby. You bring joy to a lot of people, I'm sure!
Wow your glider rocks in the air, very beautiful lines. You could call it Deep Purple like that band from the 70-ties. They were good musicians for sure. Dimensions would be handy even if I can estimate it on sight, just to ease our pain. Don't need much, wingspan, wing cord, fuselage length and fuselage diameter at leading wing edge. THX.
Simply splendid mate! im not much for nameing but with that flight, . horizontal stab an color. I first thought of a Purple Martin. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a really interesting design that seems to fly beautifully. Love the fuse shape; it has an airship look and feel. The tail reminds me of some of the very early biplane tail designs. I like it. Well done sir!
The way it darts effortlessly and with the tail configuration it must be the BLUE DART. Side note, there's no slipping or skidding apparent, so she's happy in her design. Obviously light weight, control appears to be immediate and precise, like it's on crazy rollercoaster rails. Yes, I believe I would label it the BLUE DARTER .
Grabbing it by the end of the wing and just giving it a little hand to float away just too cool had to watch that several times Amazing how it catches the wind beautiful build
Fabulous flyer. Good to see you wearing a matching shirt. Not very original, but I'd call it the Swift. The way it flies reminds me of the swifts that zoom up and down my street in summer.
Sleek shape, looking grossly as TATIN Torpedo plane of the early 1900,the first concept of turbine plane.Anyhow very nice performance as usual.Congrats and cheers.
The aspect ratio reminds of the Mid Phase by Chris Foss.Your tail feathers unique. Beautiful glider , beautiful slope Thank you for sharing this beautiful BLUE BIRD XXX
Given the nice tail feathers, maybe we should stick with an Angry Birds theme? Like "Chuck" ...he's yellow though... Ella would be purple ... like "Edgy Ella" or "Ellagance", maybe? (Oh dear, I'm off before it's getting even worse... 🥴)
Very nice build, and very nice handling. It appears the plane and your flying site are a terrific fit for one another. I always enjoy the flying there.
Totally graceful, perfection in the air, stunning design & always loved the transparent covering I'd call it "the purple poet" as it's poetry in motion, also where abouts do you fly from, the scenery is amazing, keep up the good work.
It reminds me of the Aerial Steam Carriage (Ariel for short). Look it up on Wikipedia. Are plans available for purchase (.PDF format) for us in the former British colony of Virginia, USA? This would make a great winter building project.
Thank you for posting another well built and flown glider. Video work is excellent as well. Looks like a great place for slope flying but it sure does look like you are close to the edge at times. Best of luck to you . Chetlongshooter
Thank you. Don’t worry, the camera is quite deceptive. It’s a little lip and a fairly shallow slope down to to the costal path about 50 meters below. Only then does it get steep. There is no way I can fall off.
The shape of the fuselage and tail kind of reminds me of a Exocoetidae "a Flying Fish" which happen to be good gliders. Short story: One year I was in a jetski race from Catalina Island and back. On my return run a flying fish popped out of the water and was cruising in front of me for 30-40 yards. At the time I was doing about 50-60 mph and I could swear he was out pacing me. I got a real good look at him while he was flying, it was the first and only time, "so far", I had ever seen a flying fish in flight.
Agree on the name... I have crossed the Atlantic a few times on various sailing boats, flying fish make an excellent breakfast. They just jump on board, no lines needed..
Suggestions: Dart, Bullseye, Bullseye Dart, Scud, Dart Zeppelin, Rocket, Miss Zile, Fat Arrow .. or in style and explanation as for Agiletto (suggested by You Tube) - Slippery Sloper .. since it flies sideways .. Skippy? Skippy the Slippery Sloper? Sloppy Sloper? Sloppy & Slippery Slope Slapper? Flappy the Slope Skipper? BTW - Nice build and flying model .. as always 😀👍
The lines definitely conjure images of birds and fish. It is rakishly beautiful, and simple at the same time. When I first saw it, the name "Raven" popped into my head. It's lovely, regardless of the name.
Unique and beautiful looking model! At first, I thought the combination of pointy tail feathers, rectangular windg and drop shaped fuselage doesn't fit - But it quickly grew on me, half way into the vide I alreay loved it! :) Its clearly got some WW1 biplane vibes with the described combination of shapes... Therefore - As much as I like the transparent purple covering - I bet it would look awesome in a WW1 camo pattern as well :)
@@SlopeRCGliders Interesting to hear that the albatross did indeed influence your design there - That's exactly the family of ww1 craft I was thinking about when writing my first answer ;)
Others beat me to it: Purple Martin, or at least “Martin” just in case you want to use a different color someday. The fuse and tail remind me of a bird and the covering color clinched it when it comes to a name. BTW, my first time commenting on one of your flights. Seeing your videos has inspired me to give sloping a try. Thank you!
Purple Marten. When I was young, we had Marten houses and I could sit and watch them dive and soar and do their acrobatics all day.
That's the PERFECT name! Very well done, Mel Gillham!
Sailfin...it has a distinct aquatic look to the design, complimentary to the scene.. looks like a superbly balanced and nimble design.
Purple Martin

The "Flash" because it reminds me of Flash Gordon rocket ships.

Thank you. I used a set of wing ribs meant for a biplane so carried on the theme and copied the tail design from an early biplane.
