Mr. Casey, THANK YOU so much for sharing so openly your knowledge, experience, and history of study/practice/and application, in your Painting journey. I loved this episode, and have gleaned so much from you. I ordered your book too!! Can’t wait to get it. God bless you and your Family.
Eric, I am so happy I found your website. You are truly a gem, in how you share and find and promote ways to help us learn, and the great people you get to show /teach/ demonstrate their specialties with us. And your kindness and humility is real, I can only attribute the generosity of your spirit and theirs is what makes This wonderful website so… WONDERFUL😄 ! THANK YOU!
Frank Reilly studied with Frank DuMond at the Art Students League in New York City. Frank DuMond attended the Académie Julian with Benjamin Constant, Jules Joseph Lefebvre, and Gustav Boulanger. Frank Duveneck studied with Wilhelm von Diez and Wilhelm Leibl at the Royal Academy of Munich.
Todd, I am so grateful that you shared your vast amount of art-based knowledge with UA-cam viewers. I ordered your book, and I look forward to reading it front to back, again and again as a valuable reference. Erick, you are an angel amongst us. No one else provides comprehensive art access like you do. I enjoyed your virtual plein air event.
Great interview! Ordered the book! Thanks, Eric, for all you do for the artist community. I've enjoyed every video I watched and I watched a lot of them.
Amazing book! Information I've serached for years! Just found the section on rendering transparent glass. I hope Todd will write a book on painting the human figure and portraits! His books are now my goto for reference!
Wait! You're in Redding?? I live here in Redding! My step dad's family owns a lot of buildings and businesses in Ridgefield. Georgetown and Weston have some amazing places to paint as well. I grew up here in Redding/Ridgefield and also down in Norwalk/Westport! I've never watched or learned from an artist around here. Haha.
I purchased "The Art of Still Life" several months ago; absolutely the best reference/instructional book I have ever read. This book surpasses all others. I strongly suggest that viewers invest in this book! I also purchased "The Oil Painter's Color Handbook", which is much more technical and covers all aspects of color in depth. I spent 9 hours reading this 316 page book cover to cover. I thoroughly enjoyed the history of the evolution of color principles, the development of color wheels, and the exploration of different art movements. I was thankful that I had had a professor, Victor Flack, who taught priciples of color and design based on the Bauhaus and Josef Albers. These are two fine books! I accessed one through Amazon and the other through Thrift Books.
