- So today I'm trying to Climb WuTong Mountain in Shenzhen. It's about 7km with 600m elevation gain, making it a category 2 climb.
I'm on the 2nd week of my training program to reach 4w/kg.

Hey guys, hope you liked the new 'vlog' format!
Previously if I were to make a video like this, I would've just not bothered uploading it because I didn't achieve what I wanted. So hoping to be a bit more open and honest about things that don't go perfectly.
Cheers
Jarrod
it's great man! Any content is better than no content ;) The fact that you live in China makes it always interesting to watch. Love seeing the scenery.
You should do a video explaining why you are in China (if you're confortable sharing that)
As a cyclist, I was disappointed for you that you didn’t get to ride the hill, but as a fellow heavy rider, I was relieved!
I’ll be back, probably at like 5am before any of them are awake 😂
A clean bike is a fast bike!! :)
Whaaaat??!! You live in China? You can go mental buying a bike and prices we can only dream about. Nothing motivates me like new bike bits. Get a set of winspace wheels for a start!
Well that was a bummer. Early bird catches the worm as they say. Curious what they're gonna say when they see you coming back down when you sneak in while they're sleeping 😁 Probably wouldn't catch me doing that in China.
Really enjoying your videos, maybe you could do a video about life in China sometime 😀
Cheers! Maybe yeah, I've got a second channel where my girlfriend and I do general travel videos, so we might post something there about life in china!
But I'll try and keep this one channel about cycling and fitness things, otherwise the youtube algorithm will punish me 😂
I'm sorry to see you got rejected. Glad you still got a good ride in.
Waiting for video about 9velo wheels. Was actually thinking of buying their gravel carbon wheels. Seems you encounter some problems
Hey mate, yeah the 9velo wheels haven’t been good for me. 1500km they lasted before the pawls in the rear hub snapped right off. I sent them back to get repaired and they lasted 200km before breaking again. Currently trying to get them repaired for a second time. I don’t know what sort of hub the gravel wheels use, but if it’s the same as the road wheels I would suggest not buying them and going with a different brand. If you want to see some pictures of how the hub broke you can message me on Instagram
Ah...Shenzhen, where most of my Taobao vendors are.
You are a frugal man I see! Just like myself. Is that seat and seat post from Aliexpress or similar?
Yeah it's from Taobao which is just like the Chinese version of aliexpress! Can't be spending like £200 on a saddle, ridiculous money 😂
AGREED!

The guard at 3:49 , did he speak English, or are you fluent in their language ? Also, you mentioned you had a crash, do you think you would get a carbon wheels /bike again ?
I speak a bit of their language, just enough to kinda understand what he was saying 😂
The crash I had was ages ago actually, only a few months after I got the bike, but the saddle was torn on the side that’s why I changed it to the carbon one.
For carbon wheels probably not, I don’t think I ride fast enough for the aero benefits, plus I can’t really feel a difference between the stock aluminium wheels or the carbon ones. I’m quite happy with the cheap wheels, it’s nice being able to ride through pot holes and not having to worry about damaging them.
I got the carbon wheels for free to review, but I don’t think I would’ve spent my own money on them 🤷♂️
@@JMower what about carbon bike (domane sl series ) ?
Nice one 👍 are your tyres 28s or 25s wondering of changing mine to 25s from the 28s on the attain, dnt know how much of a difference it would make as suppose they are alluminion wheels anyway, thanks.
Currently on 25s, but I have the exact same tyre (gp5000 str) in 30s too. I’ve swapped between them a few times and to be honest I can’t tell the different at all. Some people say they can feel a massive difference, but it depends how sensitive to change you are I guess 🤷♂️
As Kate Bush said, time to get “Running up that hill” 😉
You shouldn't have such a big knob on top of the stem unless you want a trip to the ER
I’ve been meaning to cut it off, just never got around to it 😂
