    Y’all should make a clear shimmer spray or brush on... you know, something you can add to a finished design to give it a little shimmer. I make fabric dolls and I paint the facial features and I would love to add a little shimmer to their cheeks. Everything I’ve tried washes of or doesn’t last long even without washing.

    The Glitter Bond bonds the fabric glitter to the fabric, so it really lasts, washing after washing!

    @OhhYessLifesGood If you use a good coat of Glitter Bond, you should be good, but if you're worried, you can dab a light coat of Glitter Bond on top to set as well, and it won't dull the sparkles. Good luck!

    @Leslie Bass ... Hi Leslie ... The shirt was actually first painted with Tulip Soft Fabric Paint, which dries super soft and flexible and won't crack or peel. Once the paint dried, Fashion Glitter Bond was applied over the top of the Soft Fabric Paint in certain spots and glitter was applied over the top for shimmery accents. Glitter is permanent and washable when adhered with Fashion Glitter Bond. We're not sure how much glitter you'll need, because it depends on your design, the size of the glitter containers you are purchasing, etc. Glitter can go a long way if you make sure to save the excess glitter you shake off of your project. Shake it over a scrap piece of paper and pour back into the container for reuse! We hope this helps!

    Its a good idea to put
    something inside the shirt
    so the paint won't seep into
    the other side of the fabric...

    You can use one of our Tulip 3D Dimensional Glitter Fabric Paint to create the raised designs. If the glitter finish isn't enough for what you want to create, you can sprinkle Tulip Fashion Glitter on top of the wet paint. Hope that helps!

    When used with Tulip Glitter Bond, the flaking off should be minimal. We specifically made the Glitter Bond to go with the Tulip Fashion Glitter for the strongest bond ;)

    @Donielle Langford - Nail polish isn't formulated for fabric, so we can't speak to its permanence or ability to seal glitter on fabric. Glitter Bond is formulated to be permanent and machine washable on fabric so we recommend using it when adhering glitter to fabric. To seal the glitter, you can try dabbing a very light coat of Glitter Bond over the top, or using a spray sealer that works on fabric. Make sure to check labels - formulated for use on fabric is what you'll want to look for! =)

      Molly Kaye Yes it would. Just make sure to apply an even coat of Fashion Bond all over the areas you want to glitter.

    @Gabby Endres ... We checked with our lab and they said there doesn't seem to be an issue with using Glitter Bond on suede ... You might want to test first on scrap suede or on a hidden area of your boots just to make sure. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions!

      hiyakathyy Hi there ... We have only tested Tulip Fashion Glitter with Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond and know for certain that they create a permanent bond on fabric when used together. However, you can try testing other brands of glitter with Glitter Bond on scrap fabric to make sure they work before starting your project!

    May I ask what is glitter bond is it a glue, it's just I'm making Disney elsa's cape from Frozen and I have my organza fabric, though from previous experience with glitter and fabric it has never gone to well, I use fabric glue then sprinkle loose glitter which not only makes the fabric stiff but also causes lumpy and bumby effects of small clumps of glitter after it has dried. As it is rather a big cape and large snow flake design I am wondering the best way to go about it as I really need it to stay soft and flowing but also have a flat effect to the glitter not raised or 3d, any suggestions appreciated, what I could do with is a large glitter spray of some kind. I live in the uk and sometimes products are very hard to source over here. Thanks from Tracy

      Hi there! Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond is an adhesive specially formulated to permanently adhere glitter to fabric. Glitter Bond can be brushed or sponged on so you won't have to worry about any dimensional effects. It will work on organza, but because organza is such a light fabric, it will slightly stiffen once dry; any adhesive that you use will stiffen the fabric because of the adhesive properties versus such a delicate fabric. We did some testing in house this morning with Glitter Bond on organza and we noticed that it only slightly stiffened the fabric once it dried, but overall the fabric remained moveable and fairly flexible. We also did testing with glitter spray and noticed it really stiffened the organza once dry. We recommend using a paintbrush to brush on the Glitter Bond in your snowflake design then immediately apply the glitter over the adhesive, lightly pressing the glitter with your finger to help it set. (Remember to put wax paper underneath your fabric when applying the adhesive so it doesn't stick to your work surface.) Let it dry completely and it should be ready to wear! Good luck with your project and please let us know how it turns out!

    • @Traybuff
      @Traybuff 10 років тому

      Thank you so much, I have found the tulip glitter spray since asking this question, I see you have said it does stiffen it more. Maybe then I could try the 2 methods and take my pick at the end of the day. I will be starting the costume in another 2 weeks or so, but that will be the skirt and bodice first, then the cape, so in the mean time whilst I'm making those I can be getting supplies in to test. I think I saw it for sale in the uk somewhere on-line, might have been amazon. So the adhesive is like a glue specially made for fabric, but not like the glue I have used before called (fabric glue), like said it is very hard to get that totally flat look with applying glitter to fabric. Do you know how far the adhesive will spread per bottle what sort of size area, to give me an idea. If you image search Disney Elsa cosplay you will see lots of peoples attempts at the costume and the cape, to give you an idea of the amount of space and design I will be covering. It's pretty big. Thanks for your help it is very much appreciated especially when you are at a loss and past attempts have not been so good. Cheers from Tracy

      @ilovetocreate6868 10 років тому

      Hi Tracy! Yes, we definitely recommend testing the products on swatches of the fabric you will be using before working on the actual piece. You might end up liking the fabric spray over the glitter/glitter bond combo. Glitter Bond is offered in several sizes, so we're not sure how much of the fabric surface one bottle will cover; it really depends on the size of bottle you are able to order and how much adhesive you apply to sections. Some users apply the product sparingly while others are much more liberal with product application. It's dependent upon each user. If you are able to order the bigger bottle, we recommend ordering that, and perhaps a spare (it's better to have too much than not enough!). And remember to apply with a paintbrush to get a smooth, flat application; sponging or applying straight from the bottle is going to add more dimension. We hope this information helps ... Good luck with your project!

    I added the tie dye resist then the glitter and tie dye then left for 4 hours The waited 72 hours like it said then washed it inside out like it said and it came out with the glitter peeling of! What do i do? Can you have a more detailed explanation on what to do? I did it with a normal stencil which worked fine but only the tie dye resist is the only thing that came out good apart from the tie dye colours of course.

      Hi there ... the glitter becomes permanent on fabric when adhered with Glitter Bond, which is an adhesive that's specially formulated to dry permanently on fabric, even through the wash. Make sure to wash your glittered fabric inside out on gentle cycle or hand wash for best results.

      Ambrosia Ulibarri Hi Ambrosia ... You can try gently dabbing on a very light coat of Tulip Fashion Glitter Bond over the top of the glitter to seal it. But adding too much adhesive over the top of the glitter can cause it to clump up and look unsightly. We hope this helps!

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  6 років тому +1

      Hi there ... are you looking to add glitter to the logo or the shirt itself? Is the logo a synthetic material or part of the fabric? Tulip Fashion Glitter is permanent on fabric when used with a permanent fabric glue like Tulip Glitter Bond. But if the logo is synthetic and you are looking to glitter the logo, you'll want to test applying the adhesive on a similar item to check. Or you can try a heavy duty fabric glue like Aleene's Super Fabric Adhesive: aleenes.com/aleenes-super-fabric-adhesive or even use a glitter paint that's made for fabric instead. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions!

    • @ilovetocreate6868
      @ilovetocreate6868 10 років тому

      noor0677 Did you sprinkle the glitter onto the Glitter Bond immediately after applying it? It's important that you apply the glitter onto the Glitter Bond immediately before it starts to dry. You can even press the glitter with your finger after applying to help set it into the glue. Then make sure to let it dry completely for the amount of time recommended on the bottle. It's also possible that you didn't apply enough Glitter Bond to your fabric; if you applied a layer that was too thin, it may not have been enough to secure the glitter to the fabric. We hope this helps!
