You should call this "Gauff's highlights reel", as it's showing more of her best shots than the winner's. I watched the game live, Simona played much better than this reel shows.
I missed the match but that's good to know. These highlights are mediocre and clearly biased.
Yet she lost in straight sets. 🤷🏻♂️.

So much to like about Simona Halep. A humble, yet great professional.
There is a total of 27 points displayed in the highlight video. *16 of 27* are Coco's winners and *9 of 27* are Halep's, with another 2 set/match points. Please just delete Halep's winners and rename it as "Highlight as biased as WTA: Coco Gauff's winners though lost".
Delete that 9 Simona point's and name it "Coco - Halep true match". It becomes's like in Korea. They always win and china take 2nd place lol America need a hero ;) BLM hero

I'm sorry WTA, you are getting a dislike from me. When you have a multiple grand slam winner dismantling a novice 63 64, and you decide to show 16 winning points of the novice as opposed to 11 for the champion (10-6 in the first set, 6-5 in the 2nd set in favour of Gauff), that shows strong bias towards one player and disrespect to the champion that Halep is. Stop the undeserving hype, it's pathetic! Hugely disappointed as a tennis fan yet again. Halep played great, well done to her!

Oh my goodness, the WTA has a dislike from you. What will they ever do? I'm amazed anyone could figure out who won the match with the highlights - they had to rely on the score. Pay to watch the match instead of whining is another option, of course
So by my count of these highlights, we are shown in the first set Coco winning 9 points to Halep's 6 points. Second set Coco winning 6 points to Halep's 5 points. It would seem Coco won the match from these highlights. But yet Coco lost. Bias highlights as usual. Halep not being shown properly.
Coco played some great points, but the video seemed too biased for her instead of Halep who won the match.

Highlights are bullshit since it doesn’t indicate who the actual winner was but simona played a lot more aggressive watching the whole match and handled the wind a lot better and ofc made less errors and served great
I was thinking the same. Had I not watched the entire game live, I would have taken this summary to be a true representation of the game, as we're used to Simona being a good defender. She played aggressively, her serving was top notch. This summary is skewed towards Gauff.

They try to balance between important points and particularly entertaining ones. Watching Coco make errors isn't "highlights." Get a life, already. PS. agree with other posters, if you watch this short video, it appeared that Coco won the match. Video selection was biased in favor of Coco's winners which were notably great shots but didn't really fairly portray Simona's tremendous performance.
"Coco is getting better" ..I've been hearing this for the last 2 years ..she is not getting any better mate, she hits the wall when facing top10 player and she consistently fails to deliver good results...I am amazed how she's been overrated by US fans and US media in particularly. She needs to win at least 500 (let alone a 1000 level) tournament to be eligible to call her a raising star.. for now she is just a candidate to become a (raising) star at this stage/age. She is still young though , she may kick off eventually ...but for me she lacks of strategy in her tennis ...

Gauff's second serve continues to be her undoing. Just 3/15 (20%) for the match, not gonna get it done against a player like Simona.
Although Halep made a clear win over Gauff, it's Gauff's winning points that are mostly shown. This isn't fair to the winner and shows an unacceptable level of partisanship on the part of the maker of this video. A shame!

Even drop shot queen Ons won't drop shot Simona so many times, knowing that running and chasing (stamina, athleticism) ball is Simona's biggest strength. Not sure why Coco kept trying that.
Because she was desperate and didn’t have many answers.
As Simona gets older it will be more difficult to maintain a high level of athleticism. So it’s not really a bad tactic but Coco should have stuck to her guns and remained aggressive. The key to defeating Halep is overpowering her. Her game is relatively weak but she is very consistent and is a grinder. Similar to Wozniacki, great at speed and defense but no real weapons in her arsenal. Good win for Halep though.
@@phantomtroupe8430 I don't know if I would characterize Simon's game, simply as that. Yes, her serve is not amazing, but she can get free points with placement. She plays a smart, tactical game, can hit the ball early and deny her opponents time and her speed gives her multiple options, not just for a great defense, but offense too -
@@Hammerton32 I would classify her game as pusher/counterpuncher. While she may be very talented and good at placement and movement, I’ve seen Halep get dragged around and blown off the court by big hitters. She could be so much more lethal if she upped her serve and was a bit more aggressive. She is becoming too passive in her playing style now and it shows in her results.

They showed so many great shots by Coco I thought she was going to win, a bit lopsided. It should not be a Coco highlight reel if Coco lost. Halep won both sets. I guess Coco's were more spectacular but that 's more of a highlight reel for Coco. It was one sided.
These highlights are so painfully, patriotically biased it's almost sad to see to which extent the WTA Media Team underestimates the average viewer.

I say they have to change the rules. After a game they have to ask the public via s m if both deserve to win and, if so, gave the win to both of them.

Great play from Simona. So now what we’ll hear and read is “But Coco is only 18.”. No longer does 15 - 17 apply. IMO, 10 years from now we’ll hear and read “But Coco is only 28.”, “32”, “38”. Worse thing that happened to her was beating Venus 3 years ago. From what I saw and read, she actually thought that winning and winning at least one GS a year was a done deal and therefore her ego was cashing checks her talent balance could not cover. She became victim of sports woke media hype (just look at points won on this highlights video) and her dad. I think if Coco gets a real tennis coach, improves her forehand a little more, then yeah, she could win a GS in a couple of years. But right now, as things stand, getting to the semis is more realistic. Time will tell.
