Finally! A video from a person showing what they do. And not only that, but very clear too. So many times have I seen videos of people saying I need to do this, or that, and moving so quickly my poor age-old senior eyes can’t keep up. But your videos are great. They are meant to check for understanding and I appreciate the time you take for them. I can’t wait for the next one.

Glad it was helpful. I know there are a lot of great videos out there where the presenter moves quickly. And I guess that suits a lot of people - just not me. I've found myself having to rewatch videos multiple times to learn something. I decided, for my channel, to move slower and be a little more deliberate in hopes I can actually help someone out. Thanks so much for watching!

Hi Rich: I followed your tip and cleared my screens. Now I have a feeling of calm when I use my iPhone and iPad. I no longer feel rushed and I don’t miss the noise I sensed. Thank you for this wonderful suggestion. I’m an appreciative senior and new subscriber. Looking forward to future videos.

That's great! Yes, for me, just clearing up the screen and keeping what I use makes using the iPhone so much easier. Less is more. Thanks so much for watching, subscribing and sending me a note!

I have a few more years on you. I am an octogenarian in the upper half.
I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the iPad Pro Max. I learned from trial and error on both resulting in congested desktops with App icons everywhere. Most I have never had any use for.
You just convinced me to house clean both, rewatch and follow your videos again and downsize to less clutter using the folders and better organization on my iPad similar to what you have done.
I just watched Apples WWDC 23 video. When they get update OS17 for iPad out I would sure be interested in watching your video on how to do a FaceTime video and if they don’t answer, the video could be added to their Voice Mail.

So much very practical advice in all of your videos. I, too, have been using an iPhone since the beginning, but feel like I never approached its potential until I found your channel. When people decry the use of technology, and even our obsessions with it, I point out that the iPhone has been what has kept this 87-year old alert, in touch, and relevant.

I get you Rich. You made it short and simple. I use a couple more apps than you. I noticed you don’t have “settings” in your format, but then again it’s not something you use every day. I play a scrabble game online called “Lexulous”. That’s the only “game” I play. It has a chat line where you can communicate with your opponent. It’s a free app too. I like the way you organized your apps. I’ve set my first screen up with apps I use, but other screens are other apps I don’t use too often. I haven’t used “folders” too much, I find them not my thing. Great idea organizing your phone the way you use it. Thanks for the video. Kindness, Teresa

Hi Teresa! Interesting that you mention folders. I'm not a fan of folders either and use them sparingly. In fact, I had all the apps out of the folders just before I filmed the video and then changed my mind at the last minute. They do keep things cleaner. I'm just not a fan of the "look." Thanks so much for the comment. Hope you and your family are doing well.

Great comment and hope others read it. Each person needs to set things up for the way they use the iPhone. With this video I wanted to plant seeds of thought so that users could clear away what they don't need and keep what they do need. Thanks so much for watching!

My comment to Tiago Forte, author of "Building a Sceond Brain" was (and I don't know if he has or will read it) "I wish this technology and the book was available 55 years ago!" I have Benn an Apple user for years but have been hesitant to explore the options. Thank you for leading the way and for concise verbal and visual instructions. Ever since I have owned an iPhone & an iPad, I have organized my apps in topical windows. Now, Apple has done that for me. However, I am unable to organize the app windows that make sense to me. Can you suggest any channels at Apple to plead for owner/operator control over the app library?

    • @JJFlores197

Maybe if enough people complain, they may do it. There's no way, to my knowledge, to get in touch with anyone at Apple to make those types of changes. If it helps at all, there was a big problem with the iPhone 4 back in 2010 where if you held the phone a certain way, it would loose signal. Someone emailed Steve Jobs directly and his snarky answer was something along the lines of "You're holding it wrong". If that doesn't give you an indicator of what type of company Apple is, I don't know what will.

Multiple cameras, overhead rig, field recorder, studio lights, teleprompter etc. I sync everything up on the computer using Final Cut Pro. But a lot of UA-camrs just keep it simple.
