I am a "senior" too. My choice of iPad has been the mini, with SIM card option. I carry it in my purse. Not saying you need a fifth, but it'd fit in many of your pockets too! Appreciate your videos; easy to follow. You are a good communicator with an easy to listen to voice. Thank you.
Ha! You'd be amazed at how many people notice that. I wear a Fitbit because my health insurance company provides benefits for exercise and their app connects to the Fitbit. Thanks so much for watching!
I am a new subscriber and I really appreciate how carefully and slowly you explain everything. Thank your mom for me. I don’t even know what generation my iPad is or anything about screen size, megabytes or gigabytes etc. I don’t know if other people would be interested but I would love a real basic how and when to get your next device😊
Hello Rich, Have you done a video about how to take notes with the iPad pencil while watching a class on internet? If yes, can you please point me to that video? Than you very much. Ana
I’m not a digital creator, I’m living off retirement. I have a 12.9 M1, Mini 6 and a 2019 Air 3. The only one of these I would have a tough time living without is my iPad Mini 6, yet I tend to hold on to these iPads. Hard to understand myself but I luv iPads
Hi Rich, I liked your joke about addiction and having four iPads. I only have one iPad and have one widget on it. I see you have many pictures of Tucker, I think was the name of your dog you had. I have many pictures of my dogs too. I’ve had six dogs in my lifetime all the same breed. I sometimes have to look at the collar in the picture to see which dog it is. We had one dog that liked to watch TV. I have a picture of her watching an Omaha Steak commercial. Thanks for the video on a practical way to use your iPad. Kindness, Teresa
Hi Teresa! My dog that passed away last summer was Cooper. He was so awesome and I miss him everyday. The pics I showed in this video are of Scout, my new golden retriever. He's wearing me out. I forgot how much work it takes to raise a puppy!
I’m glad I watch your video. I feel relief that I’m not the only one having more than one ipad. I have ipad mini, 9.7, 11 & 12.9 inches 😂 then I’m still looking forward if they develop a much wider screen like the samsung does (which I have) but not my kind of tech anymore bec. it doesn’t synchronize my work from 1 ipad to another. Having more than 1 ipad is pretty much advantage to work on a task continously as I don’t like it plugged its power cord while in use, when the battery low, it’s risky for safety & the device. Despite I own more than 1 ipad, I still take good care each of it.
Ha! Great to know there's least one other person who owns a lot of iPads! And you're right, it's handy to put one iPad down and pick up another and continue where you left off. Thanks so much for watching!
I enjoy your videos, but have a question. My iPhone 13 pro changes automatically from wifi to printer and back. My brand new I pad pro does not. I have to remember to go to settings to physically change it back and forth. Can you help me fix this issue? It has auto switched, but has stopped. Both devices are connected to the same wifi. Printer does have wireless compatability.
Rich, I see you are using Notion. Have you looked at Obsidian? It's local storage, mark down and just a whole lot easier to use than Notion, IMO. Nice videos. Thank you for the effort. 3:248:098:12
it never occurred to me that you could have more than one iPad. I’m a musician and it would be wonderful to have a separate iPad just for music. I use the Apple Pencil in that context on a daily basis. What I don’t understand is how you would coordinate the IPads in terms of backup, etc. Perhaps you can do a video on that. Thank you.
I didn't go into to it in the video, but I'm a musician as well and have a lot of music on my iPad. I play guitar and piano and find it very useful. No need to worry about backups as you can set each iPad to auto backup to iCloud. Thanks for watching!
I have to iPads. iPad Pro M1 12.9 Pro, and the iPad Mini 6. I have them basilly set up the same. I bring the mini with me when I can’t or don’t want to carry my backpack with the big iPad & keyboard case and other stuff with me.
Watched one of your videos that recommended husband and wife have different apple ids. When my wife and I got our iPhones and iPads I set them up with the same I’d. We want to sync some stuff. How can I give my wife her own Apple ID without losing my Id and we sync the stuff we want like calendar, contacts.
Most likely, it can all be done. You can share calendars, Reminder lists, Apple Notes, Contacts and more. To get your wife an Apple ID you'll need to do is reset the iPhone and iPad so that you can start the setup process from scratch. At that point you can create a new Apple ID for your wife. It's probably easiest to start with the iPad. Once you've set up the iPad you can just log into your new Apple ID on your iPhone and you'll be good to go. I know this is a lot but I hope it helps a little.
Hi Rich. Did you say your iPad stand was a “Banks” model? I connected to your Amazon link, but didn’t see it listed. I have a basic Lamicoll stand for Zoom meetings, but would like to get one that can be extended higher. Any tips? Thanks
Yes...it is a Banks. Banks sent it to me a few days ago. It's not been released yet. I'm not sure I was even supposed to have it in the video. But it's an awesome stand. It pivots 360 degrees too. The iPad stands on my Amazon page are have come out with new versions with adjustable heights. That might better fit your need. Thanks so much for watching.
What kind of tools do you use for word processing, data sheets and even for presentations? The Mac standard apps? How much compatible are they with Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, etc?
I use either the standard Mac apps or Microsoft products. But as I've stepped away from practicing law, I don't need to use the Microsoft stuff as much as I used too,
Hey Rich, what is your preferred screen size when it comes to iPads? 11 ish inch, or 12.9? If you could only choose one screen size, what would it be? Great video Rich, cheers!
I use an apple monitor with my ipad and get a mirrored image. If I got a monitor like yours am I understanding that I could do things on my monitor and also on my ipad at the same time? How would you move from one screen to another? Would I need to purchase anything else? Love your videos. ❤
You actually need an iPad with an M1 chip. Then, when you plug the iPad into your monitor, you get a full second screen. I use a mouse and can go back and forth between the iPad and the monitor. I can have one app open on the iPad and a completely different app open in the monitor. Pretty cool. Very much like a desktop computer setup. Hope this helps.
You're not alone. I always prefer to have an extra cheaper iPad model that I can abuse without guilt (for social media browsing, UA-cam binge and quick background music when doing chores). I do keep my slightly pricier iPad as my "main" iPad and treat it preciously and immaculately, making sure to avoid even a single minute scratch LOL.

Very welcome!

Very well explained, Rich. I really love all your videos. Simple way to introduce useful tips.

Did you do a video on making that ipad widget ? I love that one but cant figure out how to make it on widgey
I've not. Would that be of interest to you? I never figured anyone would much care about that. Let me know...

Could you please make a video on how you made your date widget.
I've been thinking abut that. I used an app called Widgy to do it. It's not the easiest thing in the world to do but sure looks cool.
@@RichBowlin That would be good. I'm sure you would make a video that is easy to follow, as are all your tutorials.

I have the 2020 iPad Pro and it does full screen on external monitor, you just have to change it in settings

Hi, My iPad is old one and can be updated only up to 15.7.3 version. Is it safe to use? Security wise safe to use ? Pl guide .
It is safe. But s time goes by it will be less so. Hope this helps.
We use our iPad as a computer.
Me too, at least more and more. When I hooked up the iPad to the Apple Studio Display and really felt just like a desktop. And it was so fast!
@@RichBowlin yea we are average Joe users so the iPad really works plus it’s almost the same as iOS iPhone.
I use iPad as a computer and also to reduce burden on iPhone’s battery.
