🐬 agree on haptics mate, its amazing. And yeah that transcription amd speech to text stuff is superb. The 15PM seems to have imrpoved on that, too - but nowhere near the Pixel

I've had mine for almost 2 weeks and the only time it's gotten warm is during the setup as all phones do. But after that not a hitch. I even tried filming for 6 hours straight at 4k 60 for a couple of days and it didn't even get warm then which is super impressive so I'd say it might just be a hiccup

@@RjeyTechare all of your Google play system updates updated? There are about 3 or 4 updates in that section. And after you update it, you have to go back and see if there are any more updates. Again there were about 3 for me. That should help some.
@@RjeyTech Yeah. Check what Matt said. I know I had a bunch of play updates in the security settings so even if the system is updated, see if the play update is actually updated because when you check it it's not always the most recent
@@mackmccord3743Glad I ran into your comment. Phone was running way too warm. Checked and updated as you said, and after about 10 minutes from restarting, there was a very noticeable difference in thermals. Thanks!

I'm doing the same, however, looks like I have the WiFi bug, drives me nuts. Don't think I'll be trading the iPhone
I have both mate , you should definitely not sell the iPhone off in a hurry , for it’s good points on the pixel , imo it’s not even close to being in the iPhones league, some very annoying things about the pixel you may not want to put up with.
But see how you go , personally I think a B lot of the gimmicks are way overrated , and at times very hit and miss. Anyway all the best with your choice.
@@mikldude9376 I agree, a lot of the AI features are really hit and miss. Ultimately, it’s way ahead of the iPhone in terms of potential software innovation, however, the execution just isn’t there, it’s not as polished as the iPhone .

Hi! I'm heading to Canada for school next year, and I'm wondering if it's a good idea for a student like me to buy the Pixel 8 Pro. I won't be gaming much, but I'll be using the camera a lot, especially because it's my first time in Canada.

I think you should also consider an iPhone ( 15 Plus ? ) . Good battery / cameras , popular with the younger age group in North America probably easier to communicate with your friends there. If you have any problem with an iPhone , there is an Apple Store you can go to.
I use an iPhone and a Pixel ( 6A ) , so I am not biased.

@@semphylis my phone still working great. Honest opinion the phone is great for simple use but if you play games on your phone I would suggest you go with Samsung if you’re an android person.. or iPhone pro for Apple. I noticed some games run a bit sluggish on Pixel.

I can’t share your enthusiasm mate , I have the 8 pro, and coming from iPhones and galaxy’s, I find it to be falling down in key areas , battery life is only passable
At best imo , in my use the finger print sensor is inconsistent
As is the Face ID , very disappointing imo .
The adaptive screen brightness seems less than good to the point I disabled it.
Yep it can take some nice pics ( but so do most other phones these days), but imo a lot of the gimmicks most people will get sick and tired of after the novelty period wears off , though some of the editing features are good.
Mine does warm up quite a lot after a while just browsing the web without even doing any hard work.
To Google’s credit the UI does seem snappy, but that’s not enough , in hindsight if I knew what I know now I may have hung onto my coin or bought differently.

It takes about 2 weeks for the battery to learn your usage. The battery will get better. And there are about 3 updates if you go to settings and search and "Google play system updates". Go through that process and update it and restart phone when prompted. And then do it again until All the updates are complete. Same with Auto brightness. It learns your usage.. It's a really smart phone. It's very different from an iPhone. The auto brightness will learn your usage and give you the display brightness that you usually set it to in those same situations. Again it has to learn your usage and as a long time pixel user Eye can tell you that the phone works much better with auto brightness vs changing the brightness yourself every time. Let the phone show show you how smart it is. You will not be disappointed. Also turn on the always on display and now playing. These features do not hurt your battery and make the Pixel experience complete. If you have any questions about anything you've experienced on the phone, ask me and we can work it out together.
@@mackmccord3743 I think that's why he said he would've saved his coin cause smarts and AI isn't enough if Google can't get the basics of a good smartphone right. Tired of the, "Give it 2-3 weeks for the phone to learn", excuse when Google needs to learn how to make a better processor for Pixel. BestBuy Electronic return window doesn't revolve around Pixels battery optimization period.
The phone still getting too warm might be due to lot of google services running in the background. If so then only proper fix would be to dumb down the phone.
And just like last year, people will deny it because till next spring-summer make it too evident to deny.

Love your videos, but you should either change your mic or eq your audio to have a bit less bass because right now it's really boomy especially when listening to it with headphones on.

I have had this phone for about 7 to 8 days. So far the phone has barely gotten warm and the initial setup. So far I would say the thermals are better than the pixel 7 pro. Not really any thermal issues for me so far.
Phones which heat up on there own is not safe. Wondering if they will overheat too much.??

I have a pixel 8 pro and honestly I feel it gets hot only when on cellular. Seems cool when on wifi, but cellular does get hot for me. But it's not horrible but def noticable

I don't think the review is reasonable. If you want to capture a lot of pictures within fraction of 1 to 2 seconds, the phone will hangs a lot it won't work. It stops working and feels jittery unable to handle the heat. The heat is so much but compare to 7 Pro. This is better but I can still feel the heat not worth it
Battery is also not great on the optimization is not a tall. Good computer iPhone so and switching back to 15 Pro Max
My only problem with this phone is that it is not available where I am at. It is so annoying. Google needs to do better.
