I only shoot raw pictures with the pixel 8 pro, there is no going back. It brings the photography from a solid 9 to a stellar 11. I use color profiles from cobalt colors and I edit on a 28 inch 4k srgb Screen. The pictures look great even here, and I also have a canon 5dm3 that I use rarely because the pixel is always with me.
I purchased a Pixel 6 at launch. It was in my opinion, horrible. I sent it back. Not a big fan of tensor chip. I was a bit nervous to purchase Pixel 8. I was so surprised! I love my pixel 8. I wish battery life was a bit better. However, I love my pixel 8! ❤
Personally, I wish they would drop the whole glass back and bring back the budget. Friendly plastic or at least make a frosted plastic to make it premium because some of us don't want a case

Yeah good job on the video and you're right never pay full price for a pixel they always go on sale. My main gripe with my pixel 8 is you know as long as you're on Wi-Fi a lot of the day you'll get good battery life but if you're on data all day your battery life takes a gigantic hit more like 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours max that's not to say I don't like all the cool features that come with a pixel phone I do but yeah the processor in the modem are okay they're you know will get you by but they're not anywhere and comparable to say like a Galaxy s23 or s24. So I could easily recommend the pixel 8 to anybody that's on mixed Wi-Fi and data and wants a smallish phone and especially I would recommend you get it and used market as you can find the mint condition one at a pretty good price without a lot of legwork.
Bought Google 8 from Voxi for £10.80 a month for three years works out just under £400 and much cheaper then other contracts which cheapest seen £29 a month and over £600 from Google direct. The network Voxi though not been great yet can't get Sim work or register but phone worth it for just £10.80 a month.
7 years of support was a selling point without value attached to it. Who is going to even last 5 years with this CPU performance? In 5 Years other chips will be flying. It was a good marketing trick to sell.
With regard to the price. The Pixel 8 Pro has three prices, It varies depending on capacity of storage. 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage10. The 512GB capacity is 999 £.
Those who are talking about new processors, let me tell you one thing that the technology has matured enough. There will be only a minor changes that can be done with processors now. The reason being the laws of physics, because we have already achieved 4nm chipset, going below that is extremely difficult and forget about 2nm chipset because quantum mechanics will not allow such chipset
Only concer I have with my pixel 8 is , battery drains faster and heating issues and also Tensor performance compared to the competitors they have to improve a lot

I'm afraid they aren't stereo speakers at the bottom. 1 x MIC and 1 x Speaker. Google uses the small phone speaker at the top as a "pretend" 2nd speaker. Use your ears and listen while playing a movie.

The Pixel 8 gets 7 years of both security and OS updates. The Zenfone 10 gets 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates. So for long term the Pixel might be better.

The Pixel A series is usually really good. If cost is a concern then I think it's something to consider but also Amazon is running sales on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 7a right now so check those out!

It looks like a fun little device. Easy going. Doesn't take itself too seriously, still works well enough primarily as a phone. Can do some casual point and shoot street photography, nothing major. I can see the value and appeal of it. Bummer the display clips blacks though. It really isn't any better than a Pixel 5. But the pixel 5 was pretty good so that's good enough. Easy breezy Pixel 8. That's the non-pro version. If someone wants a casual, small, stylish and affordable phone for general use the regular pixel is for them.

The light sensor is under the screen near the left top side, so it gets annoying when you have a call and want to use the phone. Just moving your finger to that side blanks the screen with ongoing calls. This sucks balls, but besides that I love the Pixel 8
Your review does not address the weaknesses of the Tensor chip and the phone's issues with heating specifically in warmer climates. This has been a consistent complaint from Android users.

Its funny how your default response was to call me an iPhone user without any proof. Can't stand Apple and the lawsuits by the US and EU governments are long overdue. You don't need to work hard to find reviews raising concerns about the Tensor 3 chip and the overheating issue. For the price Google is charging for their phone, those issues should have been resolved. There has been a marked improvement in the Tensor chip and the AI capabilities work within their ecosystem. In some cases it is better than Exynos. However there are limitations in maintaining 5G connection in addition to the other issues raised. The Tensor chip is still vastly inferior to Qualcomm's. Maybe you should listen more instead of jumping to conclusions. You also do not speak for every Pixel user. Instead of being defensive or using surrogates, Google should address these issues. Hopefully the Tensor 4 will be better.
I so wanted to give android many chances..as i am so used to the OS. But Pixel 5 burnt me, bad exper8ence with exynos before that..then motorolas lack of water proofing fucked me over. If its compact then poor battery life. Ir u habe to carry huge slabs in your pocket.i just gave in and got iphone 15...someday when i trust pixel hardware again..i might come back

My personal experience I haven't gotten heat issues. Maybe because I don't play lots of games or watch a lot of things on my phone.
It gets no warmer than my Motorola G Stylus. I haven't had any modem issues either. It's a good phone.
