wow. Lot of corrosion. Must be east coast or northeast. I split my caliper and it was easier to work with than working with the caliper fully assembled. I did the passenger side splitting the caliper and the driver side with the caliper intact. I found that an air tool was the easiest way to get the 20mm bolts out. I have some long beefy 1/2 drive tools but there was not a lot of space to gracefully work the bolts out. Even the air tool had to be used carefully with the clutter of brake lines and electronics. I think getting the new brake pads in and then reassembling the caliper was easier than trying to tie the caliper up and extract/insert parts. I do thank you for the trick to put the spring/anti-rattle clip back in.
