Please watch the full video. We shed light on the false teachings of MacArthur rather than degrading the individual. We DESIRE that he would understand the truth. - Trent
I pray more preachers like John McArthur will be raised by God. He has helped me so much and million of other believers. Thank you Lord for the preaching and teaching of Jhonny Mac!
Johnnie MaC started out decades ago Preaching Truth. Then he was led away from The Truth by Satan thru Calvinism. I saw a video where MaC finally came out and admitted he silently Preached Calvinism a little bit at a time in his preaching. Now he boldly preaches Calvinism. This lady isn't the only one I've seen him misled Believers. I pray he'll be delivered from Calvinism and use Scripture to explain Salvation. Amen ❤
Me too been there done it got the tee shirt. Calvinism and Lordship salvation drove me to despair I lost all peace and assurance and ended up backsliding thankfully am free from it now and resting in the finished work of Christ alone but I know how hard it is to escape from.
I understand completely. My son started watching UA-cam videos by MacArthur, Piper, Paul Washer, etc. He was in despair. He was sure he wasn't saved even though he believed in Christ. I tried to tell him they were wrong but it never worked. Less than one year ago, he committed suicide. Thanks MacArthur. A Calvinist must ignore God's word.
I am recently saved by Christ. He is my Lord & Savior. He died on the cross, was resurrected and through His grace gave me eternal life. He forgave my sins by shedding his blood. He is the only way. Thank you Jesus!!!! Thank you Pastor Jesse! You are my favorite teacher!
takecare, you are saved IF you have come to repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The proof will be that you no longer practice sin. 1John 3:9
Catholics say they put their trust in Jesus Christ's sacrifice, but are they saved. No, you need to be born again when you're born again. we can see that a born-again christian is saved by their fruits. Works is a result of our salvation.
Eddy, Catholics may very well believe in. Jesus Christ as their Savior. I hope they do. The problem with Catholicism is that they add to faith in Christ many works. If you are “saved by your fruits,” then you’re no different than the Catholic who adds works to faith alone. There is no double born again, but the individual is born again by faith in Christ. You aren’t born again to be born again. I assume you’re applying TULIP doctrines which are heretical and in great error. - Trent
@BibleLine Like John McArthur believes you are not saved by your works, but when we "see" someone serving God in church, it is a sign that this person is saved. John McArthur is not and never said you are saved by works. You are not a pastor. You're a wolf amongst sheep by attacking falsely a child of God.
Can I ask you to pray for my husband who is caught in this Calvinism and he can’t even listen to any other ideas - he totally blocks all information about Calvinism - the enemy has him trapped! I don’t know what to do! I prayed for his salvation and he came to know Christ - and started changing his life - but then fell into this and depression and anxiety and basically it’s pushing him back to his prior life of addiction - I am so overwhelmed - it’s destroying my marriage
@@ipt3000 Thats really sad I will pray for him. I was into Calvinism and Lordship salvation for years and it almost destroyed me I ended up backsliding. I came back to the Lord in 2017 and have peace and assurance again so there is hope for him keep praying and be patient with him. He may have to go to where I went to before he comes to see the truth.
I was saved by a free grace preacher when i was 19 and attended that church until he passed away. Then i ended up getting sucked into calvanisim and didn't get out of it until i was 41 i am now 43 and it destroyed my assurance, it destroyed my joy, my trust in God's word because i was always looking at myself and ultimately I ran away from God and fell into terrible sin and was seriously chastised ! I lost my marriage of 16 years, my home, and ultimately physical health! But one thing I still did during all that time was reaad the bible and pray and beg God to forgive me for the things I was doing and what i had already done! And this is what i did i shut off every preacher threw away and said lord you teach me and give me wisdom ton understand it. And my eyes were just opened and i was understanding like never before and i realized how simple salvation was and that calvanisim is a lie! Unfortunately i live in a very small town and have not been to church because calvanisim has crept into them all! I have attended many here and as soon as I detect a hint of calvanisim im gone! I have led my whole family to christ who were unbelievers before. My mom sister my dad and they all attended churches that have this! doctrine in them but i have made them fully aware of what to not believe out of my extensive experience! I can detect calvanisim in an instant even if it's just a piece of it because I was a calvanist! Isn't it something how a tulip is so beautiful yet the whol plant is toxic? I am grateful I found you and I attended your church online! I wish I could find a church and pastor like yours! I live in Florida where are you located?
Hey there!! We are located in Tampa, FL! Check out our church website calvaryoftampa.org If you’re close, you should stop by!! Thanks for sharing your testimony. May God bless you. - Trent
I am a Calvinist by my definition of Calvinism because I believe in TULIP. But I don't agree with the majority of Calvinists on some side issues, such as good works necessarily accompanying salvation. But being a Calvinist has in no way reduced my level of assurance. If anything it has increased it. Don't make the mistake of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Just because some Calvinists are wrong about some things that they may even ascribe to their Calvinism doesn't make the five points of Calvinism any less true (although I think thay the "L" is probably only partially true).
Thank you brother , for exposing the false teachings of macarthur . He's literally the the emperor with no clothes and his calvinist minions keep holding up the curtain so those who are biblically illiterate cant see that he's naked . GOD bless you brother.
So tell me, explain. Someone who's dead in his sins as stated in the book of Eph.2 .How can he be saved? Because in romans 8 someone who's dead in his sins, cannot choose God, will not choose God and neither can ever decide for God, sins he drinks sin as if it is water. So tell me, what can a dead man do for him to be alive? John 6:44 and verse 65 will tell you that UNLESS if he's drawn by God the father to Christ he cannot come to HIM.
@apolloistaphquibs5075 Great question. Christ draws all men by the crosswork. This is the role of the Holy Spirit as expressed in John 16. He convicts all men, and we know all have sinned (Rom 3). It isn’t man saving himself, because the power of saving is left to God. Christ has provided the full, sufficient payment for sin, but the sinner must accept that Christ has done so. When the sinner believes in Christ, then the sin payment is applied to the sinner’s account. This is justification. God is still at the helm of saving, justifying and sanctifying. The only responsibility on man is to simply believe Christ died for his sins, was buried and rose again. Belief not being a work would make the man of no merit to his salvation; salvation is the free gift. - Trent
Out of the 7 churches I've been to in my life, Calvary Community is the only one that ever taught the importance of spreading the Gospel. Seems like it should have been top priority but when they aren't teaching clearly there isn't much hope of anyone being able to reach others! Now I'm much more comfortable when talking to others about salvation 😊
The pastor at the church I am attending told us Wednesday he struggles sharing the Gospel with people unless the people he is interacting with bring it up.
Well, maybe that should be a sign i❤f false teaching because the truth of the matter is, is that if you’re living under the grace of God and you are following the Holy Spirit and you are developing the fruits of the spirit in your life and you love god and others - you’re gonna stand out so much you don’t even need to make Sharing the gospel a goal because everybody’s gonna be knockong down ur door just as they were for Christ ! Christ said this !!! In the New Testament! So This is exactly the problem. These people sharing the gospel as the goal, but they don’t have any of the fruits of the spirit to share or be a testimony - it’s all fake . It’s all about making people feel afraid afraid of hell and a false send of need of god that isn’t genuine - because the ideas you can’t do anything without God but clearly you can because God gives you your life and God gives you your freedom and you absolutely can go out and live the way you want to live but you’re gonna suffer the consequences for it so but people don’t like that people are really attracted to this idea that if I’m good it’s bc god helped me be good - and you had nothing to do with it. It’s all God’s goodness, but this just totally flies in the face of scripture which constantly speaks about righteous actions constantly employees people to be righteous - so people take the idea that is of God as meaning that God is controlling you like a puppet and if you just make your case, and if you’re just humble enough, God will help you be good - but if you’re not convincing God of your worth, God’s gonna send you to hell for not not being able to convince some of your worth even though he created you I mean, it’s all kinds of crazy and you know why, because the devil is the author of confusion !!! God gives all of us ability to follow righteousness because it says so in the Bible that you will never be in a situation where you can’t do something correct // the question is, will you!!!! what will you do? what can you do? You can obey God but will you well that’s how much you really respect and love him. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God, so you understand that God is the authority, and that everything good in your life comes from God well, then your desire to serve him growth because of self interest, which is exactly what we’re designed for but when you just want to go your own way, and you don’t want the responsibility for your life, then OK you get to accept this other version of the gospel which is a false version from the devil you get to feel all of your guilt and then you go out, make it your mission to evangelize for others. All of your false ideas! The devil loves that!!
@@foechicken8023 well that’s because if he’s just forcing the gospel on people outside of God calling him to do so it’s false and it boosts his ego, but it hurts others. It’s not a form of love towards other people, because when the Bible says love, other people would it really means is love other people different than yourself because God is trying to establish peace on the earth the way he created us to be in peace with each other, if people can’t understand that and then they say they’re Christians and then they say that Christ is God well it brings into question a lot of things because of Christ is God and you are Christian then all of these things are common sense - it’s not brain surgery what God is trying to accomplish you on this earth!!! It’s called as in heaven, so below, I mean what part of that is difficult to understand there is no problem with a pastor who doesn’t feel good to share the gospel if he feels like he’s forcing it on someone that’s actually a very good sign and that’s probably not his calling as a pastor. First of all a pastor is there to guide believers AYE DIOS - I don’t think any of the disciples of Christ were actually pastors. They went out and shared the ideas of Christ, which were not known to a lot of people that was their calling that has nothing to do with being a pastor. AYE DIOS
I was like Joy until April 2022. Was involved in a lot of Lordship groups including the extreme Church of Christ in the restoration movement and was always wondering whether I was in or out because of looking to my works for assurance, and I never measured up. I finally understood in April 2022 that we need to distinguish between discipleship and salvation, fellowship and salvation, and salvation and rewards. In April 2022 I put my complete faith in Jesus alone for salvation, not in Jesus plus myself.
Does that man instruct his fans not to read the bible? I pray that poor woman gets into the word and finds the assurance she needs. I'm sad for her, angry at him, but I know there's a Good Shepherd, her Shepherd, who never leads His sheep astray! She obviously has the fear of God, let that beginning of wisdom come to full fruit, dear Father, please.
I really hope this lady watches this video! I’ve struggled with the exact same things in my life. Bad biblical teaching at an early age has left me anxious about everything. This channel is a blessing though and I’m overcoming my anxiety. Thank you Jesus for what you did for us! You did it all!
This man is a wolf in sheeps clothing and He is to be Marked and avoided and let him be accursed for bringing a different Gospel than was given to Paul! I pray that he will Repent and believe the Gospel! TY for exposing the evil works of darkness! Praying for that young girl to KNOW that she has eternal life!
I was not aware of what Calvinism is until about a year ago. Strange cause I was saved over 30 years ago. Brian on Faith On Fire channel does an excellent job pointing out this false doctrine and a few of the big kahunas like JM and exposing them . This isn't personal, but needs to be done to try and help unsuspecting Christians from being fooled . People are hungry and broken today , and we all need Jesus and we need to decide we only want truth and to grow in our knowledge of Him and His word . God bless
Thank you so much for bringing this up Pastor. The Bible makes it so clear. Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. So sad these people put so much conditions. Do these people have any kind of assurance of salvation in Calvinism? It's all about what Jesus did and placing your trust in Him. You are definitively saved. No maybe or might be. For sure.
Quite a few calvinists from 16th to 19th century doubted thier salvation. Guess why? Legalism. They just always add works to Gospel and go into legalism.
@@cecilspurlockjr.9421Yes. Our theology does shape our view of life and how we relate to God. If one believes you must prove your salvation then you absolutely go into all kinds of striving in flesh
And THAT'S because Jesus, the Son of God, is the one and ONLY ransom payer for ALL the sin of humanity, for EVERY human occurrence of missing the mark, for ALL time, the ONLY one who could satisfy the justice that Divine judgment demanded ! There IS NO other. NONE..... Acts 4:12, 13:38,39; Hebrews 9:22, 10:10-19.
Afternoon pastor, I found out my youngest daughter likes women. My fiance has osteoporosis. It began her jawline 4 years ago, where she had surgery. It now has spread its her spine where two of the disc compressed and a 3 disc had a hairline fracture. Lastly, my finances have taken a hit. Thank you for your prayers for my Christian brother in law who was shot. He has fully recovered. He can't work again. I will read the book of Job for some revelation. Thank you again for sharing the Truth.
Listening to a j mac sermon, he made me sin. Run away from him, he is no bueno. I pray for Joy that she finds God's peace, love and joy that surpasses understanding, in Jesus name Amen
So agree and appreciate your comment of simplicity... as I go deeper in the word my hunger to understand it in it's fullest draws me more and more into His word. Thank you for your commitment to truth! GmaJo
Man has the choice to believe or not to believe, that is true. And whoever believes and places his faith in Jesus Christ will be saved. However, this reality misses something crucial -- left to his own devices, man will never choose to follow God. As a result of the fall of man, every part of man has been corrupted, from his emotions to his mind to his will to his flesh has been corrupted -- "to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled" (Titus 1:15-16); "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5); "Whoever trusts in his own [heart] is a fool" (Proverbs 28:26). By his evil nature, the natural man is happy to progress through life without ever turning to God; he does not believe because he cannot, according to his wicked nature "The soul of the wicked desires evil (Proverbs 21:10)." How can one who, wicked by his very nature, ever desire Jesus enough to choose him over the rest of the world? He cannot. The soul desires only what is evil in its natural state -- IT CANNOT DESIRE GOD. For, as God is the greatest of all good things, it is unreasonable to expect that the natural heart would desire after Him. Thus, this all considered, man HAS free will; but he is so evil that he could never choose Christ. The natural sinner neither has faith in nor even desires Christ, for doing so would be righteous and “A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit” (Matthew 7:18). So, how can any be saved? By grace alone! Before creation itself, God chose those whom He would dwell with in all time, pouring out His grace on them forever and ever that He might be glorified. This is a beautiful truth! By man's nature, he will pursue evil; and, in accordance with God's righteousness, He is already found guilty and destined for Hell. But, to those whom the Father gifted Christ, the elect, there is salvation. Not of anything they have done, nor of anything in their nature which separates them from the unbeliever, but purely flowing from God's grace alone. Only the elect will have faith; only the elect will truly seek after God. The idea that the unelect would even desire to be saved is ludicrous. All who come to God in faith will be saved -- faith alone, sola fide. And all who come to God by faith have already been been transformed by His grace -- grace alone, sola gratia. The Arminian doctrine is that which truly makes one focus on himself -- DO this (have faith, turn to God, relinquish control of your life to Him), and YOU will be saved. Calvinist soteriology, better referred to as the Doctrines of Grace, is about God. Through saving us, GOD is glorified; in saving us, His abounding mercy and love are made clear and are testified to by our mere presence forever and ever. This doctrine gives all the credit to whom it is due -- God. To God alone be the glory -- soli Deo gloria. Of course, this leads us to the woman. If you desire to be with Christ to that extent which she showed, you are already with Him. If you were not already saved by His grace, you would not desire Him so. It is really that simple. The most common misunderstanding of Calvinist soteriology which I see is that there is someone who could desperately wish to follow Christ but, due to them not being in God's elect, will never be able to have saving faith and go straight to Hell. Ludicrous; those who wish to be saved need only have faith in God and they will be saved; that they wished at all is proof that God has, by His grace alone, already regenerated them. The unregenerate do not wish for Christ, as that would, by definition, make them unregenerate. As for the biblical support for election, I will copy and paste some from an aggregating website below. Romans 9:11-18 (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it was said to her, "The older shall serve the younger." As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated." What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, 'For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.' Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. Ephesians 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
Romans 8:29-30 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Romans 11:5-7 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
Acts 13:48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.
Romans 9:4-8 who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.
Romans 9:20-27 But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As He says also in Hosea: “ I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved.” ' And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, ' You are not My people,' There they shall be called sons of the living God.' Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “ Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved.
Romans 11:25-31 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins." Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
1 Peter 1:2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. Deuteronomy 7:6 "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Ephesians 1:11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,
Ephesians 4:1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Titus 1:1 Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which accords with godliness,
2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.'Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.
@@matthewsoules7193So by this very doctrine, you can’t look at your unbelieving loved ones and say with a straight face that God loves them and wants them to repent and come to the knowledge of the truth. Because that’s what Calvinism logically leads to. If this doctrine is true, then Jesus was telling Nicodemus (and us) a bald-faced lie when he said that “God so loved the WORLD (Kosmos) that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believeth shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” You may as well throw God’s command to preach the Gospel to all people out the window if they were already condemned to eternal torment from eternity past. If you don’t believe that Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection on the third day paid for the sins of the whole WORLD, then you do NOT believe in the God of the Bible.
It depends what you mean by Calvinism. If by Calvinism you mean that salvation will NECESSARILY be accompanied by good works, then you are right that it is a false doctrine and by that definition I am not a Calvinist. But The doctrine of election, that God predestines those who will be saved, and the five points of Calvinism (TULIP) are all Biblical and hence all true (The L in TULIP is at least partially true, the other four letters are all completely true). So Calvinism by my definition of it is Biblical truth and quite frankly the gospel. But it is also true that there are other beliefs that are often times ascribed to Calvinism that a significant percentage of Calvinists (maybe the majority) believe that are either half-false or maybe even completely false.
@@beautifulbuds the reason why you think it’s a false doctrine is because you don’t believe that God is sovereign and he’s the one who saves you think you saved yourself by your own free will that’s so sad and it’s a lie from the pit of hell it’s kind of like how Satan lied to Adam and Eve did God really say🤷♀️
When Yankee offered you to be the new pastor there, He knew what He was doing. You have your own way, but stick with the word of God and the Spirit that lives in you. So many times replacements do not divide the word correctly, end up preaching a false gospel. You have already proved yourself. We thank God for you. There are a few others out there, but they are so few and far between. My wife and I are both in our early 80's, and have been married for 63 years. So we many times watch your videos together. It really encourages us to live for the Lord who gave His life for us.
Salvation is the free gift of God purchased in full by the shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is given to a lost sinner by the grace of God through FAITH in the perfect and finished work of Christ and no works whatsoever are required to receive it. Do you BELIEVE? Congratulations you are saved, Praise Jesus!
God bless you sir. I recently had been going through a battle in the spiritual realm. I had come to amazing truth of Christ about a year or two ago, then got caught up in the whole nonsensical "panic! the end is near are you really saved?? Make sure your works are sufficient" baloney. The truth has set me free! The gift of God is free eternal life because of the finished work Christ has done! God bless you and your ministry. I pray everyone reading would come to Christ's amazing truth!
Amen brother I was raised in false religion/teachings God brought me out of deception 2 years ago and I’m thankful for true bible teachers like yourself who help those of us who struggle with false teachings thank you and may God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ ✝️🙏🏽🕊♥️
Can you offer advice to me a wife whose husband is being attacked by these false teachings? How do I help them? I feel like we are gonna end in divorce and he becomes violent with me when I try to explain anything of god - it feels like there is a demonic entity
Calvinism brought me in complete doubt of my salvation. I even get told by so many people that if I continue to sin that I won’t inherit the kingdom. It wasn’t until I came to the conclusion that me accepting Jesus Christ as my lord and savior and putting my faith and trust in him for my salvation that I found out that I am saved. Thank you Pastor Jesse. Thank you Jesus for giving me eternal life.
Hi pastor! This is Josh roberts. Hey I really enjoy watching your channel. You have a lot of encouraging videos. Do you know of a pastor/teacher named Andy Woods? He is a free grace guy out in Texas.
I pray in Jesus name that John MacArthur REPENTS (changes his mind- metanoia) from this heresy to the TRUTH that is found in Christ. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Rom. 4:4-8 Gal. 1-9 : As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
You pray that John MacCarthur tell God to take His Spirit from him that was gifted by His grace, so he could be a Self Determinist like you? That'll be....never. The sons of God cannot reject the salvific grace that make us the Bride of Christ.
Acts 7:51 states “… ye do always resist the Holy Ghost.” Ephesians 4:30 states that we can “grieve” the Spirit. It is resistible and reject-able. We are not self determinists in that we save ourselves, but we do have freedom of choice. God has determined that ANY and ALL who will believe (free choice) in Jesus Christ receives eternal life. He determined that anyone who believes is a child of God. He gives grace, and he is the author of salvation, but only to those who choose to accept it. Romans 3:22 “unto all and upon all them that believe.” - Trent
You raise the question "Endure to the end of what?" These are the words of Jesus, I ask you what is Jesus saying when He made this statement. What do you say?@@BibleLine
He is contextually referring to the tribulation period before the rapture. The individual that ensures to the end physically will make it into the kingdom. We don’t endure to be saved into eternal life… - Trent
Another classic example of reading a verse out of context and then making your own manmade interpretation. What is comical at this point is how your own interpretation ties it back to eternal salvation. Good thing we are not obligated to obey your interpretation. We can see Jesus's own words about having everlasting life: John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 6:47 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Thank you Pastor. You preach God's Word. It is simple. Thank you for making it true & simple. You are needed to teach others the way of God. There are too many Pastors who do not teach the Word of God, which confuses people.
This girl 100% suffers from scrupulosity (OCD in the religious form). Not sure if it showed it here, but in the full video she talks about blasphemous thoughts, which is a common theme for someone suffering from this mental disorder. Read John Bunyan's Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners and you will get a diary of what this girl is going though. People have studied John Bunyan and Martin Luther and by their writings, can diagnose them with OCD. She has arrived to this point from Lordship Salvation as they arrived to their suffering from legalism as well. It is works salvation and turns the proof/evidence of salvation onto yourself rather than the word of God. Since OCD is the "what if/doubting disease" she is constantly evaluating herself for assurance and I can assure you the only thing it is doing is driving herself insane. She may have assurance for a moment, but will lose it the next time she has a wrong thought or feels she hasn't adequately repented of her sin. What she needs is sound doctrine and she also needs some counseling on what OCD is and how it works. That will be how she escapes this torment. I know many professing Christian's dismiss any form of mental illness, but that's their problem. I also know one thing, all these Lordship Salvationist are literally driving people insane with their double talk.
Amen! I have not been diagnosed with ocd but having had been years in lordship salvation, which is not thw Gospel but a whole lot of legalism and false gospel, it drove me insane. The moment I turned my back on it from my heart and started to focus on Christ alone by faith, that is when I started to get healed of mental issues. It has been a tough journey but by the love and grace of God He gas wonderfully, amazingly brought me through. But yes, all ocd abd scrupulosity sufferers must avoid legalism and pursue Christ by faith. Then God's love, grace and power grounds their minds as they can also settle themselves in assurance of salvation
@@foechicken8023 It really is. I wish all pastors would read John Bunyan's Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners and they can see what its like and educate themselves on some of this. Then they could identify there may be a little more going on than just needing correct doctrine, because they might just keep getting a million questions and keep seeking reassurance from the pastor if they don't get this squared away.
When we fail, repentence of our sins is the way forward to regain the life, not to enter into a belief system which teaches that mortal sins can't take away salvation and even obedience to christ is not necessary.
I also struggled with assurance to the point of deep grieving. By prayer and scripture alone, i entered personal revival. Listening to many people who believe you can never have asurance except by your personal behavior is life sucking torment. Jesus says He loses NONE. And nothing separates us from the love of our Lord. Resting in the Lord is only possible when we trust Him fully. It's the difference between life and death (and maybe that's the point of Romans 8) How beautiful it is to get my thoughts of judgement off of myself and just trust Him I'm so glad i found your channel 🎉
Thanks so much Pastor Jesse, loved hearing your message, the clarity of the free gospel of grace so well explained. Was very troubled and disturbed with John MacArthur with his message to that lady. God bless you brother.
I'm not sure why so many people want to go by this chosen frozen stuff I'm glad the man who lead my Dad to the Lord used jn 3 :16 and not the turn and promise approach
Great Message before God opened my eyes to the true gospel I used to believe that it was something like this... This jesus thing is really hard and I haven't got it all down yet so I can't really recommend him yet. Now it truly is the good news which I share often.
Do we look to our works to save us? No, we are saved by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not of works lest any man should boast. Does a true believer live the same life we did before the Lord saved us? Absolutely not. Are we sinlessly perfect in this life? No. Do we strive to mortify the deeds of the body by walking in the Spirit and not after the flesh? Absolutely, we do. Why? Because we have a new nature. We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained for us to walk in and He works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Scripture is clear that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God and if we are led by the Spirit we won't live in the flesh fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2
Keep up the good work Jesse. I see many of the Lordship Salvationists are getting triggered by these videos. Lord willing some of them will repent and receive the true gospel.
I was caught up in the word of faith movement for years. Then for I think it was almost ten years caught up in Calvinism. Now I’ve learned a new thing and I am saved by trusting in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. So good to know it is by grace alone we can be saved.
Dear Joy. Don't ever let another man telling you assurance of salvation. I dont do that even with my own children. Ask God to prove you and quicken and confirm His Truth to you
God gives eternal life to anyone who believes. If she believed in Christ as her Savior, she doesn’t require anymore proving. We don’t have to incessantly seek to see if we are actually saved by how pious we can be in our actions. Good works play no part in proving salvation. Jesus paved the way of salvation and it is given instantly the moment a person believes in Him. - Trent
@@BibleLine Nobody is saved by their faith. Only one faith that saves, the perfect faith of Jesus Christ who kept the law perfectly by His faith, and His faith is imputed to the believing ones as the righteousness of God. Paul is consistent in all his epistles. God chooses who comes to be imputed with the faith of Christ, not the free will of man.
@@BibleLine FYI: If the faith of Christ is in you, you're dead to sin, and know this for 100% certainty, Christ don't need the permission of your will to purge you from sin, as His Bride He is going to make you more pure every day for the ceremony.
@@ManassehJones Wow you are incredibly deceived. The Bible clearly says we are saved by our faith. We are justified by our faith. What science fiction book are you reading? Romans 4 1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Hi can someone explain Luke 8:12? I also have question about the young lady in the clip let's say she wasn't a believer in Christ and she still believes in what macarthur says on Salvation and she keeps living in that fear if someone comes by and someone gives her The Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Truth will it be too late for her too be saved ?
The ones by the wayside are those who are unsaved in this parable (Luke 8:12). The other 3 groups are saved because they believed. If she heard the truth from someone, she is completely free and able to believe in Christ. The only thing stopping her is her. She would need to realize what she has believed is incorrect, and she needs to only believe in Christ for the payment of her sin. (If never before of course…) - Trent
The truth is, if placing your trust in Christ wasn't up to you to choose to do then you have no anchor for your salvation in reality. If you're a calvinist, your anchor for your salvation is found in philosophy, not in reality.
A lot of us may, from time to time, question our salvation. After sincerely trusting in Christ, we still have our old sinful nature that fights against our new nature. "For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature". Rom. 7
Right. Some are in the faith, some not. We are not supposed to examine our works but what we believe in. Lordshippers and calvinists add works so they can never ever have true assurance of salvation in Christ Jesus. There are many people who think they are saved and in the faith because... of their WORKS. It is ALL about Jesus, not Jesus plus us. Matthew 7 there were people who said they did many wonderful works.. but Jesus said He never knew them. They were phariseeical, galse gospel legalists. They knew who Jesus was, they called Him Lord, but they did not really wanna believe in Him ALONE, apart from our works, for eternal life. Jesus is everything: eternal life, resurrection, our imputed righteousness, our sanctification, redemption, and finally glorification
The context of that chapter is they are questioning Paul's apostleship and he was defending it (as he was always having to do). 2 Corinthians 13:3: Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. He was the one that gave them the gospel by where they were saved... implying if he wasn't the real deal, neither were they.
@@HowAboutThat224 so what about themselves were they to examine? Also 2 Peter 1:5-10 says we make our calling and election sure by doing good works. Saved by grace through faith, works are the evidence of our salvation. You agree there is such a thing as a false profession of faith right?
@@Pastor_Grant You could make a couple interpretations and I would have to go back and really double check.... However, I do believe I recall the early Corinthian church had spiritual gifts/signs (which I believe did cease), so they had signs evidences. So the gospel they were saved by, did come from Paul and they had evidence of signs from that. I do not believe works are the evidence of salvation. I know many none believers who have better "works" than believers. That is very subjective. I believe what someone says they are trusting in is the only evidence (but only God can see their heart) I can go by. I know many Churches around me who's members do many good works, but by their doctrine statement, I don't consider them saved. So yes, there are many false professions of faith for sure. Lastly, this may be controversial here... but I don't really care. Most people would consider me a "hyper dispensationalist" because I think Paul received the Gospel we are saved by today as neither Jew or Gentile. So therefore, I believe the body of Christ (New creature, sealed by the spirit, mystery revelation and on & on) is only found in Paul's epistles. This is shocking to most people, but I have compared scripture to scripture and I believe if you want to be a consistent dispensationalist, you will come to the "Mid-Acts" position, which means this dispensation is only found in Romans - Philemon (Paul's epistles). I don't think anyone in any dispensation is saved by works or the law and ultimately, everyone is saved by the blood of Christ.... but their faith produced works if they believed God in other dispensations. So under the law, Jews had faith in God by doing the best they could and had faith in the blood through the blood coverings provided to them (until Christ's blood took it away) and during the tribulation God is dealing with Jews again (Who Peter is writing to) and they will have endure to the end (Matthew 24:13) by resisting the mark. However, Paul said Christ would confirm us to the end (1 Corinthians 1:8) and we are not going through that tribulation. Faith is just believing God and without faith it is impossible to believe him. Today the message is ... Romans 4:5 “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” So if you are trying to prove your faith by your works, I don't think you have faith. You know why Lordship Salvation mostly comes from the Gospels.... because it was for Jews that were going to have to endure the tribulation (had they as a nation accepted Christ) to enter the kingdom. Look at Acts 2. All prophecy concerning Israel, than Peter says - Acts 3:21 “Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” You know what Paul says in Romans... Romans 16:25 “Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” See how spoken since the world began and secret since the world began are not the same thing???? In prophecy nations are blessed thru Israel... we are currently blessed from the fall of Israel until God goes back to dealing with them. They have not been replaced. When people stop thinking of themselves as Jews and realize they are neither Jew nor Gentile and that Paul is their apostle, the WHOLE bible will come to life. It clears up so much confusion. Of course, I receive slanders, straw men arguments for having this position, but again, don't care. I rather believe the bible rightly divide (2 Timothy 2:15) than listen to pastors tell me 100 different reasons why the words on the page don't mean what they say. Ephesians 3:9: And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Stop using the term profession. The Bible uses the word believe. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 13 is not about checking their salvation…. @Howabouthat had a perfect response. 2 Peter 1 is also not about a “false profession” as you suppose. The calling and election is to service, not to salvation. God does not elect some over others (what a monster He would be). “If ye do these things ye shall never fall…” fall from what? Obviously not from salvation because you and I both agree we can’t lose salvation. 2 Peter is about maintaining fellowship with God by adding to your faith. He is not giving us a litmus test of our salvation quality based upon the amount we add to our faith… He that believeth on him is not condemned. He that believeth not is condemned already. WHY? - because he has not believed. Not because he didn’t prove out his salvation by works. Those who believe are not automatized into good works. They should, but not all do. - Trent
That I agree with you she’ll go home with a little assurance and then remembering what John McArthur said the next day she won’t have any assurance because of her flesh
the Lord is not slack towards his promises as some count slackness but is longsuffering towards us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
I'm always so disappointed to see that your channel does not have thousands of viewers, because people need to hear this. I grew up in this false religion and I never ever had assurance of salvation until I was 45 years old because finally I heard the truth and believed the truth and put my Faith and trust in Christ alone for my salvation. My own parents to this day love to hear John MacArthur unfortunately hey think hes the greatest of all, and it's so disappointing to hear the lies that he tells so many "Believers". Even though my walk with Christ may not be so great, I'm a carnal Christian to be honest but I still have complete assurance in the payment for my sin that Jesus put on my behalf, sealed and justified till I see him face to face! Keep shouting this LOUDLY!! Unsuspecting people need to hear this truth, the simplicity of the gospel is trust in Jesus alone!!
Glad to hear your background, Bruce! May God bring you even closer to Him in walking in Christ Jesus. It can be a tough journey at times but eventually in Christ we win. Then finally in glory and forever more in pure joy with our best Friend, Lord, Savior, King Christ Jesus
Yeah, more subs would be cool, but we’re happy to have a ripple where we can! These videos are giving a boost to the channel though. Thanks for your support. - Trent
This was one of the things that moved me from Calvinism to confessional Lutheranism: in Calvinism, you cannot conclusively say that Jesus died FOR YOU.
You mentioned 1 cor 11 The Lords Supper. As not being good to participate in it as an unworthy one? I dont understand what that means. Taking communion unworthily. Do you have a video explanation in your library? I am too curious what this means. Thank you for all you do May God bless you and your ministry to reach all saved and unsaved.
The only answer we should give if someone asks for evidence our salvation is, Christ died for our sins and rose again. Thats it. Amen for this video. God bless you all.
Second Comment: Sorry, Trent, because I'm probably making you crazy since I keep coming back to this video to comment. It's encouraging to see the interaction on these videos because it shows that correct teaching is being seen by more and more people. For that, I thank our most gracious Father. But... Just like with everything it has a negative side because now there are tons of people that are here to argue, defend, and abuse scripture to prove one must work for salvation, whether that be in calvinist, arminianist, catholic, charismatic, or any other world system masquerading as Christian. They repeat the same texts over and over, e.g. Matthew 7:21-23, as evidence but fail to keep the totality of scripture in view. They reject clear passages like Ephesians 2:8-9. They also love to incorrectly define words. They take the texts out of context. I suspect many of them don't actually read their bibles but simply repeat what their favorite pastors say to them. I suspect that because before I was saved, having been raised in an Armininian based church, I did the same. I relied on men and not the Word of my God to give me understanding. Anyway, I'll try to leave my commenting at that, Trent. Praying for my brothers and sisters in Florida. Looking forward to my chat with Pastor Jesse at the end of July. ❤
I actually very much appreciate your comments!! Thank you for your stance on the defense of the gospel. There are a lot of people that comment rebuttals, but we hope that something may change their mind. Our goal with these videos is to reach more people with the truth, and so far many have been encouraged and reached even amidst the others. - Trent
Another caveat to him saying that completely goes against our “judging” of someone’s salvation. If you follow his reasoning, that would put man with the ability of judging whether someone was saved or not by the way they act. Only God knows the heart.
Yes I heard the rest of the video of MacArthur talking with Joy and your right he didn’t say anything about Jesus Christ is our savior and she needs to believe in Him .
Don't know about this one, but I've downloaded hundreds of John MacArthur's sermons and have never gotten the idea that he ever suggests to trust in one's self, one's feelings, one's desires but rather in the finished work of Christ. As far as Calvinism/Arminianism, there are many verses that lend themselves to either view. The doctrine of election is a comfort for me. As John has said paraphrasing, "if it was up to him, he'd never be saved." For an illustration that I use when I have doubts, consider a parent walking her four-year-old child across a busy city intersection. The child is holding the parent's hand and the parent is holding the child's hand. But the essence of the matter is this: whose grip are we trusting to get the child safely across the street? As a parent, I had a vise-like grip on our daughter and on our grandkids--many times griping their wrist instead. "No one can snatch them out of my Father's hand". Hope that helps someone.
Well in “this one” and in other videos, John is very clear that the things you desire determine whether or not God picked you. How is election comforting knowing that you could apparently be one who God did not pick? How do you know you aren’t completely deceived by Satan into thinking you are chosen? You can’t really know you have eternal life, especially because you MUST maintain good works after believing in order to know if your faith is Genuine. Is that what comforts you? This is what truly comforts me. The Bible says very clearly that I HAVE right NOW eternal life. I have it because I believed in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I put my faith in him when I was 12, and I’ve been saved ever since. I do try to serve him every day, but none of my deeds or works are to be looked at to determine if I’m “chosen.” Rather, I look back to the Savior who died a bloody death for me. God says the invitation is “unto all and upon all them that believe.” The notion of a “desire-proof” salvation is utterly nonsensical, and this is why we made this video. John teaches error and lack of assurance. - Trent
Doesn’t the Bible tell us that we will know them by their fruit. Doesn’t the Bible tell us to exam ourselves? Don’t forget, even the demons “believe” and tremble. So I am not sure I understand your point of attacking a pastor for questioning the sincerity of someone’s heart regarding someone’s salvation. I think too often people have a false since of confidence because they simply “believed.” Yes, that is what saves us but how do we know that we have truly “believed”? 1 John 2:3 tell us… And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. So be careful my brother, I understand your concern and I agree, the modern bibles push works salvation but we should always be doing a heart check according to God’s Word to “see if we are in the faith”. God bless you!
Pharisees: "We are the elect and everyone else is already damned." Also, Jesus spoke against them for preventing others from entering the kingdom who DESIRED to enter! That is Calvinism.
For the world in its wisdom does not come to know God, for God is well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
While I agree that there were mistakes made and I am not some "J Mac" fanboy but this video of the sad spiritual state that the body of Christ is in. Possibly, your errors are being recorded and dissected, and people are warning others of you. I am in agreement with the talking points here as well as the doctrine, but the blindspots that are being pointed to against another certainly apply to us all.
Thanks for the comment. We don’t mind if someone clips us and tries to respond. This clip was created by someone else. We did view the full version also, and not much is new. The point was to teach against the error of MacArthur’s teachings as opposed to the man himself. We desire John would be saved if not already. If he believes/believed only according to his teachings, then it is only assumed he is not saved. If he believed the clear gospel of grace by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing, then he is saved. - Trent
Let us not be fooled! We do not want to be one of those who will be turned away on that day when men stand before God. The way is narrow, and the road is straight, and FEW be that find it. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.
Our sin has set us all on the road to hell and no amount of good will fix the sin we have done. We have ALL sinned. It is not about the type of sin or how much sin. It is about the fact that we have sinned. For that reason we need a Savior.
If we want forgiveness for our sin and peace with God. If we want to escape eternal hell. If we want to go to heaven we must understand the following. We DO NOT get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, forgiven, by being good, by being religious, by just believing in God, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking or accepting Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread and the wine, or doing all these things accumulative.
Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ and remain a rebel against God. The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction. God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repents. It is like the word About-face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not wanting God fully in our lives to willfully surrendering to Him to lead our lives.
When any person comes to the place where they are broken over their sin toward God to the point that they want to get right with God no matter what it will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God. Luke 14:33 Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. We then take that heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Master and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace through Christ is freely applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of sinning. Eph. 2:8,9, 1John 3:9,10.
Our first command after salvation is to be baptized. Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice 2Cor. 5:17, 1John 3:9,10.
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
REV. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
This "pastor" is a viper, who willfully spreads the lie of easy believism. At a certain point one must mature and realize how narrow the road to salvation really is. You just dont get saved by an altar call, or repeating a prayer. Also he makes the false claim that people like MacArthur and Paul Washer preach a works based salvation.
I appreciate your use of the scripture. Thank you. If I may take a stab at a few of your statements to see what you think... The Matthew 7:21-23 scriptures are often quoted, and I don't dispute them. I dispute the often incorrect interpretation of them. The individuals in that portion had profession (Lord, Lord) AND "many wonderful works..." They had genuine lifestyle. The reason God did not "know them" is because they never had faith in Christ. They never accepted the son (1 John 5:10-11). You made a long list of things that do not grant eternal life, most in which I agree with, but the correct answer was one of the things you listed. "Accept Christ as your personal Savior" is the right answer. The Bible says it this way more often; "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..." You say "The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction." You Greek word here is correct, but it does not imply a 180, turn or change of direction. The word is only and will only mean a change of mind. Yes repentance is required, but it is only a change of mind from unbelief to belief in Christ. Therefore you repent (change your mind about God) and believe in Jesus Christ. I don't know if you realize this or not, but if your definition of repentance is correct, you are saying a person has to completely turn from all of their sin to be saved. "While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice..." Good scriptures you used here, but these scriptures are only talking about the Spirit birth. You will still sin because of your flesh birth. Therefore all sin is still possible; it's just now you have the Spirit that you can walk in godliness and true purity since you believed in Jesus Christ. Sin can very much be the practice of the believer, and God is not pleased with this. Nevertheless, the believer is still saved because of his initial faith. Otherwise, you are putting standards of legalism over the believer in which God had never stated will grant or prove their salvation. Salvation has no works, turning, giving, changing, right living or deeds involved on the front end or the back end. The Spirit does convict us to do the right thing, but we can resist Him and grieve him all day long. See Eph. 4:30. Also see Philippians 3:9 and Galatians 2:16. May this be examined and not seen only as a rebuttel. Thanks, - Trent
@@BibleLine hello Trent and thank you for your response. I see at least three things in your response. One you DID NOT carefully read what I wrote. Secondly you read things into what I wrote not there. Third you are denying the word of God. The Matt Text is clear. They are calling Jesus Lord. I will start with your first paragraph. The Mat. 7 passage is clear. They call Jesus Lord. The Greek word is “kyrios” and it is the Greek word used throughout the NT. The people being addressed in that passage understood who Jesus is. I certainly agree that they did not have biblical faith unto salvation. That is the point of the passage. It is possible to believe in Jesus and not be saved since believing does not always constitute “faith.” The proof is that the devil believes, but he trembles. He is not saved. The people in the passage had not repented, surrendered unto God. They are instead trying to earn their way unto salvation. Next you said that we must accept Christ as our personal Savior to be saved. There is absolutely no scripture that makes such a claim. The Mat. 7 group was doing that and they remained lost. A claim to salvation without repentance is a sure way to hell. One thing you seem to have forgotten is that a passage of scripture cannot stand alone when there are other passages of equal value on a matter. While we certainly must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ it is not a belief without repentance toward God and the Greek word for repentance is absolute, NOT partial. Almost or sort of repenting is not repentance. Almost repenting is, "well I will try it and see how it works." Your next paragraph dealing with repentance is so wrong it makes me want to cry. The Greek word for repentance DOES mean a 180 degree turn. The passage is clear. It is a turn to God. Not almost a turn and still wanting the world. We turn to God and He tells us that we are to take that heart of repentance and trust His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ which is faith. You also make a false claim about what I said I made it clear as does scripture, that the repentance toward God is what is called for NOT simply turning from sin which is works salvation. If a person has come to repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ the practice of sin will go because of 1John 3:9 the person will no longer practice sin ever again. It is impossible since the Seed of God remains in them. Your next paragraph totally denies the word of God. To say that sin can be the practice by a believer is simply false. The spirit birth, as you call it, is the new birth and under the new birth old things pass away and ALL things become new. Paul clearly says in Romans do not let sin rule in your body. Jesus said unless a person takes up their cross daily and comes after Me they cannot be my disciple. By the way if we are not His disciple we are not saved. Lastly to claim that salvation has no works on the back side is to totally deny the word of God. Eph 2:10 as well as MANY other passages. Romans is full of them. I tell you this in love. Based on what you have written here if you are living what you claim to believe you are not saved. You are in the Mat 7 group. My prayers are that you awake unto the salvation that is offered and not what you think you have.
“Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23
I would consider myself a calvinist but I agree with everything you said the book of John is clear believing in Jesus Christ gives you everlasting life calvinist are right that sanctification is important and they are right in evangelizing to people in church who might not be saved but they go about it the wrong way sometimes pointing people to themselves and their works rather than (grace upon grace) and I think this is precisely a big reason for tars in the church (Roman's 4:5-6)
Thanks John. We find great error in all the Calvinist points of TULIP. The whole works-proofed / genuine faith thing is running people in circles seeking for assurance. They really need to know they are saved simply by believing in Jesus Christ for the payment of their sin. - Trent
A more helpful discussion is to talk about salvation as a whole, by grace. We are saved not by faith but by grace. Faith is an instrument. By grace, through faith. THAT is the issue. Christ is are salvation. We are saved by his merits-his works and his death. We have nothing to do with it. It is a free gift. Through Christ we are both justified and sanctified. Yes, we are saved unto good works which are a fruit of our salvation, not a basis.
Yes. It’s a shame that people preach that fruit is a proof of salvation. The only proof I need is when I look to Jesus Christ. I believed, therefore I am saved. - Trent
@@BibleLine Brother, there is still a danger in thinking or our act of belief as the righteousness that saves us. I am not saved because I believed. I am saved by the active and passive obedience of Christ, credited to me by grace through faith, and that faith is a gift of God, as well. If I point to my belief I can count it as my one work of righteousness. I am not resisting in my belief. I am resting in Christ crucified for me. Once upon a time the Protestant church didn’t struggle with this. They wrote sound confessions that can help us understand all this. The Belgic Confession says it well: Belgic Confession: Article 22: The Righteousness of Faith We believe that for us to acquire the true knowledge of this great mystery the Holy Spirit kindles in our hearts a true faith that embraces Jesus Christ, with all his merits, and makes him its own, and no longer looks for anything apart from him. For it must necessarily follow that either all that is required for our salvation is not in Christ or, if all is in him, then he who has Christ by faith has his salvation entirely. Therefore, to say that Christ is not enough but that something else is needed as well is a most enormous blasphemy against God-for it then would follow that Jesus Christ is only half a Savior. And therefore we justly say with Paul that we are justified "by faith alone" or by faith "apart from works." However, we do not mean, properly speaking, that it is faith itself that justifies us-for faith is only the instrument by which we embrace Christ, our righteousness. But Jesus Christ is our righteousness crediting to us all his merits and all the holy works he has done for us and in our place. And faith is the instrument that keeps us in communion with him and with all his benefits. When those benefits are made ours they are more than enough to absolve us of our sins.
That is why as a Christian who claims to be a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ must read the bible to fully understand the full context of salvation because it cannot be understood by few verses alone. Just as John Mcarthur will not be able to satisfy the answer to a question as a whole message of assurance of salvation that can somehow be misunderstood as falsehood.
I agree with your point that we shouldn’t just pull a few verses here and there. Nevertheless, John 3:15-18 (inside the context of Jesus to Nicodemus) are clear that salvation is faith in Jesus Christ alone. 1 John5:10-13 are very clear that we know we are saved because we believed. - Trent
So what's your take on Jesus asking people "what do you want" he knew the thoughts in their hearts yet he asked them a question. John 3:3-8 you must be born again to see the kingdom of heaven. And these signs shall follow those who believe-->Mark 16:17-18. Prophecies and tongues shall not cease until the perfect one has come-->Jesus.

It’s people like you the false brethren who speak against godly men
Johnnie MaC started out decades ago Preaching Truth.
Amen ❤
Calvinism caused depression in me for a very long time before my escape from it.

@BibleLine
Like John McArthur believes you are not saved by your works, but when we "see" someone serving God in church, it is a sign that this person is saved. John McArthur is not and never said you are saved by works.
You are not a pastor. You're a wolf amongst sheep by attacking falsely a child of God.

I don’t know what to do!
I am a Calvinist by my definition of Calvinism because I believe in TULIP. But I don't agree with the majority of Calvinists on some side issues, such as good works necessarily accompanying salvation. But being a Calvinist has in no way reduced my level of assurance. If anything it has increased it. Don't make the mistake of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Just because some Calvinists are wrong about some things that they may even ascribe to their Calvinism doesn't make the five points of Calvinism any less true (although I think thay the "L" is probably only partially true).
If you listen to John, MacArthur, often, you will eventually start questioning your salvation.

@apolloistaphquibs5075 Great question.

Have the witness in himself. We know we are saved if we have believed on Jesus. When we are mislead by false teachers we can lose this assurance.
AYE DIOS

I am thankful for people like you! Calvinism needs to be gone.
Romans 9:11-18
(for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls), it was said to her, "The older shall serve the younger." As it is written, "Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated." What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, 'For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.' Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.
Ephesians 1:4
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
Romans 8:29-30
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Romans 11:5-7
Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
Acts 13:48
Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.
Romans 9:4-8
who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God.
Romans 9:20-27
But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?" Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As He says also in Hosea:
“ I will call them My people, who were not My people,
And her beloved, who was not beloved.”
' And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them,
' You are not My people,'
There they shall be called sons of the living God.' Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel:
“ Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea,
The remnant will be saved.
Romans 11:25-31
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
"The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins." Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
1 Peter 1:2

Calvinism nearly shipwrecked my faith!!!! A false doctrine.
@@matthewsoules7193So by this very doctrine, you can’t look at your unbelieving loved ones and say with a straight face that God loves them and wants them to repent and come to the knowledge of the truth. Because that’s what Calvinism logically leads to.
If this doctrine is true, then Jesus was telling Nicodemus (and us) a bald-faced lie when he said that “God so loved the WORLD (Kosmos) that He gave His only begotten Son that WHOSOEVER believeth shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
You may as well throw God’s command to preach the Gospel to all people out the window if they were already condemned to eternal torment from eternity past.

God bless you Pastor Jesse...God bless you for the truth of the Gospel...of the good news. John3;16. Praying ....for those.
I have seen a video or two with Andy Woods. I’ll check him out some more. Thanks for the encouragement!!

I pray in Jesus name that John MacArthur REPENTS (changes his mind- metanoia) from this heresy to the TRUTH that is found in Christ.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Rom. 4:4-8
Gal. 1-9 : As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Amen!
You pray that John MacCarthur tell God to take His Spirit from him that was gifted by His grace, so he could be a Self Determinist like you?
That'll be....never. The sons of God cannot reject the salvific grace that make us the Bride of Christ.
Acts 7:51 states “… ye do always resist the Holy Ghost.”
Ephesians 4:30 states that we can “grieve” the Spirit.
Romans 3:22 “unto all and upon all them that believe.”

Those that endure to the end the same shall be SAVED... Jesus's own word
Endure to the end of what? What is the context, and what time is this talking about? Is this eternal salvation or a physical salvation?
- Trent
You raise the question "Endure to the end of what?" These are the words of Jesus, I ask you what is Jesus saying when He made this statement. What do you say?@@BibleLine
He is contextually referring to the tribulation period before the rapture. The individual that ensures to the end physically will make it into the kingdom. We don’t endure to be saved into eternal life…
- Trent
Another classic example of reading a verse out of context and then making your own manmade interpretation. What is comical at this point is how your own interpretation ties it back to eternal salvation. Good thing we are not obligated to obey your interpretation. We can see Jesus's own words about having everlasting life:
John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:47
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Thank you Pastor. You preach God's Word. It is simple. Thank you for making it true & simple. You are needed to teach others the way of God. There are too many Pastors who do not teach the Word of God, which confuses people.
Thank you so much! That’s encouraging to us.

Scrupulosity is a horrible thing to walk through.
I know from personal experience.
@@NikoFinn amen!
Thank you so much. My problem exactly.
I was like that for over 20 years. Struggling with doubt of my salvation because of a big failure.
Now I am free.
When we fail, repentence of our sins is the way forward to regain the life, not to enter into a belief system which teaches that mortal sins can't take away salvation and even obedience to christ is not necessary.
Thank you for standing for the Truth! I have never understood the attraction of "Calvinism".
Thank you. I needed that❤
I also struggled with assurance to the point of deep grieving. It's the difference between life and death (and maybe that's the point of Romans 8)
How beautiful it is to get my thoughts of judgement off of myself and just trust Him

Thanks brother… keep fighting the good fight 👍👍👍

I was caught up in the word of faith movement for years. Then for I think it was almost ten years caught up in Calvinism. Now I’ve learned a new thing and I am saved by trusting in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. So good to know it is by grace alone we can be saved.
Could you please pray for my families salvation, my name is Laurel. thank you so much

(If never before of course…)
- Trent
Rom. 7
That’s true, but the ultimate truth is that we have assurance in Jesus Christ. Thanks
- Trent
How would you explain the verse "examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith..." in light of this?" 2 Cor 13:5
Romans 16:25
“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” See how spoken since the world began and secret since the world began are not the same thing????
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 13 is not about checking their salvation….
He is not giving us a litmus test of our salvation quality based upon the amount we add to our faith…
He that believeth on him is not condemned. He that believeth not is condemned already. WHY? - because he has not believed. Not because he didn’t prove out his salvation by works. Those who believe are not automatized into good works. They should, but not all do.
- Trent

Second Comment:
Sorry, Trent, because I'm probably making you crazy since I keep coming back to this video to comment.

Keep Contending for the Gospel Brother 🎯
Another caveat to him saying that completely goes against our “judging” of someone’s salvation. If you follow his reasoning, that would put man with the ability of judging whether someone was saved or not by the way they act. Only God knows the heart.
That’s right.

It's so sad these men work so hard to hold back what God gives freely.
Yes I heard the rest of the video of MacArthur talking with Joy and your right he didn’t say anything about Jesus Christ is our savior and she needs to believe in Him .
Trust In Jesus Christ
Don't know about this one, but I've downloaded hundreds of John MacArthur's sermons and have never gotten the idea that he ever suggests to trust in one's self, one's feelings, one's desires but rather in the finished work of Christ. As far as Calvinism/Arminianism, there are many verses that lend themselves to either view. The doctrine of election is a comfort for me. As John has said paraphrasing, "if it was up to him, he'd never be saved."
For an illustration that I use when I have doubts, consider a parent walking her four-year-old child across a busy city intersection.
I think too often people have a false since of confidence because they simply “believed.”
Yes, that is what saves us but how do we know that we have truly “believed”?
1 John 2:3 tell us… And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. So be careful my brother, I understand your concern and I agree, the modern bibles push works salvation but we should always be doing a heart check according to God’s Word to “see if we are in the faith”.
God bless you!
Pharisees: "We are the elect and everyone else is already damned."
Also, Jesus spoke against them for preventing others from entering the kingdom who DESIRED to enter! That is Calvinism.
For the world in its wisdom does not come to know God, for God is well pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
That’s right!
- Trent

The Bible says it this way more often; "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..."
You say "The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction." You Greek word here is correct, but it does not imply a 180, turn or change of direction.
Thanks,

Almost repenting is, "well I will try it and see how it works."
Your next paragraph dealing with repentance is so wrong it makes me want to cry.
Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Matthew 7:21-23
i may mess up but i die daily i may sin but i am no longer under the power of sin and death thanks to God
They really need to know they are saved simply by believing in Jesus Christ for the payment of their sin.

that is sad i will pray on her behalf
Is was like Joy 100%
because the scripture says so if I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ through faith which is not of myself i am saved
What if the flesh struggles to believe or has doubts? Are you no longer saved? Belief must have an element of faithfulness

The Belgic Confession says it well:
Belgic Confession:
Article 22: The Righteousness of Faith
We believe that for us to acquire the true knowledge of this great mystery the Holy Spirit kindles in our hearts a true faith that embraces Jesus Christ, with all his merits, and makes him its own, and no longer looks for anything apart from him.
If our hearts condemn us.....

Look unto Jesus.
