I never comment on videos but this has to do with getting me my coffee. I followed your instructions plus after hitting the needle on the paper I blew into it expelling more grounds then put back together. It works like new again. Thank you for such a helpful video

OK I need to complement you on your presentation! Not a bunch of Intro’s “I’m the man and going to brag about myself for the first 30 seconds”, Not a bunch of Technical details on the Equipment “I purchased my KEURIG model K75 from Costco in 2008 or we removing two # 6 screws from the top Discharge Housing” but straight talk with easy to follow steps and lots of useful information - I’m subscribing to your channel sir, thanks

Fantastic! Two very helpful hints. If you are having a problem breaking the first two screws in the video loose, turn the Keurig totally upside down and brace it so the area where the screws are is flat. Then pour a small amount of olive oil (enough so there is a puddle around the screw head) and let it sit for an hour or two. The olive oil loosens the screws and it is perfectly safe. Of course, you should wash it with soap anyway. Second, the little rubber gasket around the needle (approximately 1:27 minutes in the video) goes back during reassembling with the raised portion up and the flatter grooved portion down (2:24 seconds in the video but it is so fast it's very difficult to see). Excellent video and could have never done it without this vid!

Most important part was seeing how the cover comes off after 2 screws from underneath. On mine, didn’t want to come off, and without video I wouldn’t have had the confidence to keep trying without knowing how those tabs were oriented.
Guessing some people have cracked those not knowing how it comes apart. Well done sir!

2 days of talking to customer service and all they could tell me is that my Keurig was broken and I needed a new one. I went to UA-cam to find videos that told (showed) me the same cleaning steps with a paper clip that Keurig told me. Luckily, I found this video to show me how to take it apart to clean it. I literally just dug my Keurig out of the trash. It made me angry enough to toss it in the bin! Thanks - you just saved me a bit of money!!!!!

I have a different model (K-90) with the same problem. Water comes out slow and down to a few drops. Found this video and went to work. Since it’s a different model, I couldn’t follow the exact steps. But I unscrewed a couple of screws and managed to open up the top part to expose the area where the plastic hose connects to the connector on top of the needle. I disconnected the plastic hose from the connector. Ran a cup of water as shown in this video. Then I connect another plastic hose I happen to have around the house and connect it to the connector for the needle. I just blew into the hose and got rid of the gunk in the needle. Tested it and verified everything is now working fine then jut put everything back together. Thanks for sharing and it helped me as well as many others.

To keep it clean once you’ve fixed it . Run vinegar through for a few cups once a month (and then flush well with water). This will help descale the machine and clean out build up and blockages.

Chris Notap; I am Luis again. I fixed my Keurig K10. I did every thing according your instruction, but the coffee maker did not brew. Before , I put together the coffee maker, I blow in the top hose and hear a little noise like "Tap", them , I pour cold water and I suck the water from the hose. I connect the coffee maker, put water, the water gets hot and brew in my cup from the hose (same way you did). Finally, I put the Keurig together and I brew my coffee and it is working now. Thank you Chris you gave me the first step to fix my K10 and now i am happy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was on the verge of tearing up a k-cup and dumping it in a tea ball to get my fix. And I do not have a problem, I can quit anytime if I really wanted to...

As a follow up to my previous post: I pulled the hose from he needle valve, and then got brave and applied suction to that hose really hard (hold the jokes fellas)...and was able to pull through whatever was blocking the lower end of that hose. SAFETY NOTE: If you've just attempted to brew a cup, empty the machine out and add cold water before trying the suction method. I just burned off half my taste buds. :-/
Chris, thanks for taking time to post. Hope this additional info helps the next guy.

I just burned both of my arms because the water started overflowing and l tried to turn the machine off. Now I'm sitting with ice on both arms. I'm glad it's just my arms. But I got it done.

Thank you!!! I was on my way to Target to buy a new Keurig - when I thought let’s see if there’s a video about this problem. Worked like a charm!

This fix did not work on my keureg. I had to fire up my air compressor and blow 30 psi of air into the hose reverse direction to unstick the check valve. Then ran 8 cups cycles of vinegar through to clean mineral out. Works good after that. Sometimes you just got to get extreme.

I think I have the same problem. I didn't use it for 2 years and now when it is running water doesn't even come to open hose. Did you blow air while running? I guess it wouldn't be safe while running. I will try it today.

I just wanted to thank you. I don't have the same model Keurig - but your video concept helped me apply the method and created a short-term solution! Now, onto creating a long-term solution for my Keurig Mini!! Thanks again!

I was about to toss this exact same machine because someone put a scoop of coffee in the water hopper and I thought the pump was clogged up. I didn't scooch as I have 9487 zip ties at my disposal! Well 9486 now.
I ran multiple "flush" cycles to get all of the grounds out. Works like new now. Thank you! Ya'll Don't forget to smash the subscribble button!

Great video but who has an extra 4 inch zip tie on hand?

    • @bmiller67
      @bmiller67 7 років тому +13

You can do this without cutting the zip tie, just pull on the hose slowly. You can easily put it back on, I just got done doing it.

Excellent info. Thanks. An extra step, as mine seemed to 'die' after doing thorough cleaning: put clean water in reservoir, place cup but no coffee pod, press and HOLD flashing red brew light till cycle finishes. 'Seems' like quick way to force out fresh grinds.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for a great video. I could not find instructions for unclogging my machine on any of the Keurig sites and was poised to buy a new one, but my husband watched your video and felt he could do it, even though he's not generally a handyman-kind of guy. It's all unclogged and clean now. Thanks again!

I use vinegar once a month to descale my Kuerig. After putting it away for a month (had coffee guzzling guests) it would only drip a little at a time.
I tried Chris's paperclip trick and AMAZING! coffee again! I will definitely add this tip to my monthly cleaning :-)

thank you, thank you, thank you. Your video got my household thru it first and hopefully last Keurig crisis. We just got our very first Keurig on Black Friday and have fallen down the Keurig rabbit hole, leaving the old method in the dust. This morning it was a scramble to make coffee without it. But your video made the world right again.

This well produced video gave me all the clues necessary to de-crud our mini machine.
I realize now that some water return siphoning action can pull some coffee debris from the finished k-cup brew back down into the bowels of the machine. The check valve or whatever must accumulate this crud over time till the tube is plugged enough to stop the full slow towards the k-cup. I am glad I did not have to take more of the machine apart ! Thanks
