  • Don't do this to your 944! This is the worst belts and rollers job I have ever seen. I can't name a single thing they did right except for putting the timing belt on. Leave it to someone who knows what they're doing!

WOW! Good thing a lot of those things have some "play in error".

This video is perfect! I always like to go back and watch this whenever I do the belts, covers almost everything on "what not to do" lol.

You're knowledge is impeccable! It's unreal how another shop can't do the job right. Even a basic "parts changer" knows to remove and replace 1 part at a time. Thanks for sharing!

It`s Amazing that after the belt change they dont`t even notice, or care, that something is not right...

I have a question. My 944 passenger fan still runs after engine is shut off. What do I do to fix this issue?

It’s normal for the fans to run for several minutes after you shut the car off. Usually it will be both fans on low speed. If a fan stays on for longer than that pull the fan relay and check it out.

@@ComeauRacingEnterprises this is what an mechanic send me Tim.
Check the inlet before the turbo as well could be from the crankcase breather pipe as well might not even be the turbo what is your oil level like.

Did you ever swap bearings on the old metal rollers/tensioners ?
I have a brand new plastic tensioner - the best you can buy now, and it failed after 1k miles... The original metal one I still have around, is better after 40 years. But before I slap it on I'd like to know if anyone can press in some new industral bearings w. longer planned obsolescence..

Somethings wrong. I've never seen a newer type roller fail. Belt tension wrong? Too tight? Torque all front rollers to 33 ft lbs only.

@@ComeauRacingEnterprises belt was pretty sloppy, could have torqued things up using old specs.. (45nm if I remember right)
