Dean Lewis Do you have any credible link which it gives a full detail what was happening? If the journalist was in a public place and she didn't disturb anyone, I don't see any legitimate reason why the NGO had an altercation with her. According to all witness accounts, she was the first to get violent by slapping people before the video starts. She has been released from custody but is still being charged with assault. She is due to show up in court.
I just did some research for those of you who are wondering the cause of the fight. For something SCMP mentioned: The event was organised by NGO Hong Kong Watch and Conservative Party Human Rights Comission Kong Linlin, that angry woman in the video is a journalist from CCTV For something SCMP have not mentioned: The event is an annual meeting of Conservative Party. There were three famous Hong Kong separatists(Benny Tai Yiu-ting, Nathan Law Kwun-chung, Martin Lee Chu-ming) in there doing speech about democracy(separaitsm). Kong Linlin was trying to ask question but stopped by organizers. Then, you see what happened in the video. Also, Hong Kong Watch is a "NGO" established by Benedict Rogers who is the the co-founder and deputy chairman of the Conservative Party's human rights commission
she made us (chinese) all look bad. hk is an internal matter. if uk wants to get involved, maybe they never should've handed it back. nonetheless, knowing how CCTV operates and how aggressive her attitude was..... she is probably in a relationship with someone higher up within CCTV. but given the amount of chinese overseas, it is important that she be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. we cannot jeopardize the safety and well being of chinese expatriates.

You are wrong though, it was 100% her choice to slap people. Feeling annoyed or offended isn't a justification. They only reason they asked her to leave was because she was disrupting the panel by yelling insults and ranting and not allowing anyone else to speak or replyShe was politely asked to leave, because this was a private event on private property. She refused to leave, so they had the right to physically remove her. "Free speech" doesn't give one the right to trespass on private property. Also, according to all witness accounts she started slapping before the video started, simply because a man asked her to go.If she wanted to voice her opposition, she can yell all she wants...in a public space. Like outside
She needs to pay that guy she assaulted a big fine a community service to clean up the place where this happened or a jail time no bond.... Then that lady tried to say something to oppose this idea, but she failed. As u can see, these HongKong and British people did everything to prevent her from doing so.U should always keep in mind that some media do not want the public to know the whole story.
Jerry Chou I don't see whats wrong with spreading the idea of Hong Kong independance? They want their democratic life style so their fighting for it, how is that wrong? Or do u think they should just obey CCP rules?
Jerry Chou I live in the U.S. It wouldn't bother me if Hawaii desired to secede or if California desired to secede. Hawaii would make the most sense since it is so isolated from the rest of the United States, but I the state is so entrenched in American culture that I dont believe any except a small sect of descendents of natives have voiced opinions about seceding. In California, it is the same in that only a small group voices the opinion to gain independence. Ultimately, the support isn't there for any state but if a group were to voice the opinion of succession no educated person would tell them to their face that they have no right to voice their opinions. California and Hawaii aside, the situation in Hong Kong is much more similar to Puerto Rico's relationship to the U.S. The difference being that Puerto Rico benefits from its relationship with the U.S. while Hong Kong likely will lose its political autonomy in the coming future, which to the opinion of what seems to be a sizeable portion of the population is not favorable. Even if Hong Kong were to secede what does the loss of such a small land mass with just seven million people matter to mainlanders who number 1.4 billion?

Can you tell when she said "you (the volunteer) have no right, but she insisted that she has her rights"? If you really want to find out what happened, it's all over the internet, here's one of them www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6315421/Chinese-journalist-charged-slapping-Tory-volunteer-row.html. BTW, South China Morning Post is owned by Alibaba, a Chinese owned company.
she does not even know what "democratic" mean.
Its true that we dont know the full story but no matter what, she should stay calm.
Didn’t know China had Karens.
Mainland Chinese think they are above other Chinese 💀
A news reporter from china central TV. Allowed to go in a conference to report in the UK. Freedom of press. She in a journalistic capacity turned into a demonstrator and protestor. What is the logic there? A Very wise move. She then disrupted the normal proceeding of things and peace. People asked her to calm down or leave. Now China demands a sincere appoloy from the UK. I have to admit I m too stupid to understand all this. Sorry.
They should've invited her to debate the issues.
So she was in jail for that? I wonder about journalists from other countries
women like her deserve to be behind bars
Ok this is what happened: British Conservative annual conference. Human Rights Commission concerned about Hong Hong basic law invalid now. Rogers said he loves China. China's success is good for Chinese and Britain. Then the lady Kong Linlin started to call him a liar, all others are traitors, want to split China. Then the guy ask her to calm down she start to yell, hitting.
Would love to see how it went down, but seems like a fair reason to be removed.
Even journalists need to keep order and wait for question time.

FYI, Bad Apple L is a despicable and pathetic troll. He's just fabulating with his rubbishes. I suggest you to challenge him and ask him show you the source of his bullcraps.
@@youabcouthad4113 I've read other news, from the ABC (Australia) as well as SCMP, neither of which took a pro stance to this journalist. However, what happened in how they came to be removed is newsworthy. Mere footage of the slap can be misconstrued if there was an altercation immediately prior which justified the action, although hitting in itself is not justified, making the threat to call police valid.
I think we can be bigger then anti-mainland sentiment just for the sake of it. Surely what specifically happened does matter.
Dean Lewis
Do you have any credible link which it gives a full detail what was happening? If the journalist was in a public place and she didn't disturb anyone, I don't see any legitimate reason why the NGO had an altercation with her. SCMP shows only very short footage of a very agitated journalist. But SCMP didn't provide any details regarding the cause of altercation and why she was agitated.
@@youabcouthad4113 I've only seen this, read the news article from ABC (Australia) and CGTN. CGTV (English version of CCTV) took one stance, the ABC took another stance around Chinese journalists under pressure to follow the party, with interesting investigative journalism to back up that point. The ABC may have a point, but does that mean the journalist was treated rightly? We won't know unless we get a more detailed picture.
Communist country person asking about where is democracy... Lamo
What qualifications do the British have to discuss Hong Kong's democracy because they once colonized it?
Jack zhang In general, everyone can talk about any topic they like. More specifically, the PRC is supposed to respect the Sino-British joint declaration signed by Margareth Thatcher and Deng Xiaoping. If you sign a contract, then usually you have to respect it.
@@ab-ul1yz The moral question is why should China recognize a contract of a country that once was a tyrant and actually forced the Chinese to sign the contract at a gunpoint.
Aashish Thapa Because the CCP already knew about British colonial past when it signed the declaration.
@@ab-ul1yz if it's not mutual then you dont have to.
Aashish Thapa What is not mutual?
Why so much unfair comment toward CCP ,Guy first touched her and try to manhandle a woman and a journalist during reporting, that's why she slapped ,it wasn't on Face,it was kind of help defense move
Why you people hate so much to a particular country, Is your country so perfect to judge other country affairs.
The guy grabbed her hand and that was why she slapped him!!!
Ccp is just a bunch of guys sick of the head
Why are grown man playing victims here, leave her alone.
5 cowards touching and pushing a woman around and then do a slow motion of her defending herself and call the police saying she attacked them and of course our cops arrest her. They did not care enough to look at the video before deciding who should they arrest. I'm glad the embassy intervened and got the lady released. I am ashamed that this has happened.
Get your eyes checked. When do you see 5 guys pushing her around? All i see is a agro bit&ch shouting and going all psycho.
According to all witness accounts, she was the first to get violent by slapping people before the video starts.
She has been released from custody but is still being charged with assault. She is due to show up in court.
I feel like this story requires more context. It feels one sided. What was she protesting? Why was she doing so? How was she protesting?
Yah
She needed a slap back.
I just did some research for those of you who are wondering the cause of the fight.
For something SCMP mentioned:
The event was organised by NGO Hong Kong Watch and Conservative Party Human Rights Comission
Kong Linlin, that angry woman in the video is a journalist from CCTV
For something SCMP have not mentioned:
The event is an annual meeting of Conservative Party.
Also, Hong Kong Watch is a "NGO" established by Benedict Rogers who is the the co-founder and deputy chairman of the Conservative Party's human rights commission
i see.. SCMP is something like apple one..
Re-education camp. No trial straight in.
Do your protest in China, let's see how brave you are. 😂
Yes we all have rights!!show me evidence!!!!!
These Mainland chinese are giving chinese from other countries and even the nice ones in their own countries a very bad name
chinese have no shame
shame on the uploader! the video is obviously trimmed.the image enlarges all of a sudden. in the intact version, the so-called NGO grabbed her first
send this girl to hong kong
she made us (chinese) all look bad.
hk is an internal matter. if uk wants to get involved, maybe they never should've handed it back.
nonetheless, knowing how CCTV operates and how aggressive her attitude was..... she is probably in a relationship with someone higher up within CCTV.
but given the amount of chinese overseas, it is important that she be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
we cannot jeopardize the safety and well being of chinese expatriates.
CCP Karen doesn't exist don't be afraid
CCP Karen:
She reminded me of someone I corresponded with. Very aggressive and agitated. Namaste.
What is namaste suppose to imply here?
@@aviraldangayach7670 To a peaceful existence. Too much chaos
The very agitated and aggressive person has appeared here as water melon. He changed his name from Yellow Panda to continue his reign of terror.
See how Water melon aka Yellow Panda is using provocative words like
Hypocrite,
Drama queen,
Dog whistle
to carry out his personal attacks. In a previous video about 7 eleven Japanese cashier being asked to speak Chinese, these are some of the other key words he used in a series of attacks in his comments while I responded without being personal with him:
Man up
Snowflake
Drama King/Queen
Pathetic
Dumbass
Weak
The words got harsher and more vulgar with a lot of racism directed at whites and Indians. You can tell that this water melon aka yellow panda likes to go on a rampage to terrorise the comment threads. He bears all the trademark of a fifty cents (Wu Mao) army, people who get paid 50 cents RMB per post to steer and put down negative remarks about China. Though their methods resulted in more people hating China ironically
Sean
What do you mean by namaste ?
Are you even Indian ?
If not then don’t say it please
Chinese people will mistake you for an Indian and the hatred will only grow
I have friends that are Chinese and they don’t act like that so I am going to say that that ONE Chinese reporter was very rude and violent but not all Chinese people
Thanks for your comment buddy. Actually the annoyed girl was offended at first and had no choice but to fight back. She is not rude or violent by herself. It is the tories' fault to irrationally drive her away, which obviously violates the principle of speech freedom.
@@kxyzc1992Feeling offended gives people the right to be violent? Wow, good logic there. The next time my boss offends me, I should slap him right?
She needs to pay that guy she assaulted a big fine a community service to clean up the place where this happened or a jail time no bond.... They think they can get away with it just coz they have money to throw around, it doesn't mean they can assault, insults and disregard or disrespect the event or people that works there....
Acts like a 5yr old slaps someone c'mon
Before you judge do u even understand why she was mad in the first place?
A tiny slap on the tall guys hand is already an assault? 🤣
It seems that the man tried to touch her when they are arguing and she slapped his hands. Maybe she just want to protect herself.
She is working for Chinese mouthpiece. Soo their will be no case against her
Crazy
She has the right to protest, but she cannot interfere with the interests of others.
What would have happened if the man had been in place of this woman.
You call that slapping. Twisting informimation.
She slapped his hand
china is getting away with alot lately
Looked like he put his hands on her first.
For the people saying he touched her first, as seen from the video, his left hand was barely touching her right shoulder as she was yelling, and he repeated "Can you please go." Left hand touching. Not grabbing. Not punching. Just for those unknowing.
But how did it get to the fight?
"A chinese journalist speaking about rights and democratic."
Me: Did i read the wrong title?
Hipocracy : am I joke to you?
The title of the video is confusing... I was asking myself how british police could have arrested her in Hong Kong...
Poor Westen people. They don't know the story behind this issue. Those HongKong and British people tried to spread some political idea about the independence of HongKong. Then that lady tried to say something to oppose this idea, but she failed. As u can see, these HongKong and British people did everything to prevent her from doing so.U should always keep in mind that some media do not want the public to know the whole story.
Victor Hillbert How is it wrong to spread ideas about the independence of Hong Kong?
@caufield Excuse me? How many regions in your country? What about separating one of them?
@@theonlycaulfield why they're spreading the idea of independence of HK?
Why did British police cave in to unreasonable requests of Chinese Embassy?
Bro I swear I saw my science teacher
and she was a journalist? 😱
The only thing i can relate is the fact that the lady might slapt the man maybe because he was pointing her , and it is very disrespectful towards asian people. Poiting is a sign of fight , and it should be avoided to prevent this sort of thing.
Watch at 0,05 , you see the guy point the lady and she point back, but after she was blocked, the guy continued to provoke her by pointing her. That is some sort of harrasment that people can't understand.
Jack Orange
Pointing may be disrespectful but it doesn't justify a slap, and it's not a sign to fight, you moron. I'm Asian and this is complete horse shit. Besides, with someone as worldly as a foreign correspondent, she should be aware enough to subscribe more to international standards and common sense than some nonsense that only applies at home.
@@doryfishie2 wich country are you from? By asian i don't mean all the countey here ( Like russia for ex) , but only the ones that are influenced by chinese culture , so India (the biggest country i have in mind) and nearby south-west country don't relate so much.
Fight in other hand,, doesn't mean specifically physical contact, but also verbal abuse. The chinese woman don't have an outstand english , as you can see she doesn't respond immediadlty after she slap the guy.
Just to be clear , explain and defend aren't the same, and i'm explaining the woman feeling through what i can see.
Jack Orange even if pointing is offensive, she still had no right to hit him. It is her fault!
Trinh Nguyen that depends whether she’s slapped on that guy’s face or just slapped on that guy’s finger which was pointing on her. If the second one, I see it as a self protection
Dun be an idiot. She slap himfirst. THEN he pointed at her and said"if u hit me again i will call the police"
