@@Johndoe-gf7eu You know it’s funny, every single United fan I’ve spoken to about the cup final tomorrow have been more focused on the fact that they can stop City winning the treble rather than thinking about the jubilation of winning it themselves. You can call City smaller all you want, it’s quite clear that they’ve built a club now that can fight United toe to toe in every single department, both in a performance-based and commercial sense. There’s no reason why City can’t be the bigger club in ten years time if they continue on the trajectory they are currently.
Damn, this was a good debate. I wish all fans were this open and honest. Yes, there were some bias in their remarks but on the whole; neither seemed deluded and a really good discussion with great points on both sides. Fair play to both
What Ferguson did at Aberdeen is bigger than anything he did at Manchester United. To dethrone Rangers and Celtic is something that has not been done since, not to mention winning the cup winners cup, being the last club to beat Real Madrid in a European final.
It's funny how they try to say that Pep only wins through his players like Messi or the splendid midfield. A quick reminder: The season prior were third, haven't won anything in three years, Messi also was plagued with injuries. Xavi and Iniesta didn't work on the pitch together and so more. Pep makes the best out of their players, we judge their work with our perception when we should do it with the perception at the time, for example Iniesta in the 2008 Ballon d'or was nomination only had 3 Barcelona players, Eto'o, Messi, and Xavi (no Iniesta), or his appointment was very controversional, the majority here wanted Jose Mourinho, and the press went at him like crazy, Guardiola also took with him a player he coached in the third division to make competence to Yaya Toure whose position was indisputed, the name of the player was Sergio Busquets.
LOL you act like that Barcelona team were like the Aberdeen team or United team that did NOT win any title for 20 years. The fact is while Barcelona came third before Pep joined, that same team still reached the UCL semi-final. That same team of players he inherited were already ELITE WINNERS (Puyol Xavi Valdes Eto'o Iniesta Messi Marquez had all won the UCL with Barcelona 2 years before Pep). Puyol Iniesta Xavi Valdes also won the Euro 2008 with Spain a month before Pep took over. So these players were already ELITE WINNERS. Barcelona media is known to blow things out of proportion BUT All Pep did was sell Ronaldinho and Deco and promoted Busquets. That's not the same as re-building an entire dynasty at Aberdeen and Man United.
@@shahzadirani They were as elite players as you could find in any top team, my point is what he did was enhance what he previously had, just as I think players like Gundogan, Stones, Cancelo etc... may never achieved the heights they reached, same as Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Messi (keeping the distance of course). Every time someone talks about Pep's Barça they put all the merit on the players that formed the team, but what I want to pount out is that the brilliance of the player was in part also thanks to the sistem Pep made them play in. I've seen countless bad teams formed of excellent players, but never an excellent team conformed of bad players, a good coach can create a great team that will lead to great players be created.
Facts and the crazy thing is Barca haven’t been as dominant since he left. Yes they won a treble again in 2015 but they had to use the individual brilliance of the best front trio (MSN) to achieve that. And seasons prior winning that and teams were somewhat able to neutralize them by being really defensive and isolating them they weren’t able to build on that treble
Litterally my Nan could've won with that barca side, he needs money to succeed period he cannot build a team like great managers a la fergie, Wenger, klopp, mourinho PERIOD
@@MoejiiOsmanTV Its not that he won it all. He upended the game completely while winning it all. Pep is to football what IPhone is to mobile phones. Mobile phones exist in two distinct eras, before and after IPhone. Similarly football exists in 2 distinct eras, Before Pep's Barca and after Pep's Barca. Pep's influence on the game is global. From Sunday League to Premier League, from Under 7 to Over 65, from North Pole to South Pole, they are all trying to emulate Pep's style and philosophy. This level of impact makes him sit on the same table as Arrigo Sacchi, Johan Cryuff, Rinus Michels and Herbert Chapman and all. There is a winner for every competition every year. But those who change the game come once a decade.... if it is a good decade. That is what Pep is.
Yes, we remember that great Barcelona side for winning those 2 UCLs only thanks to the help of the referees. Without the help of the refs, Pep would have 0 UCLs (2009 Chelsea scandal and 2011 Arsenal scandal).
I totally love this format! Lowkey reminds me of little banter debates I used to have with my City ex back in the days, as a die hard United fan. Objectivity seldom left the room hahah! Have a good derby everyone
It’s a myth to say that pep walked in to the greatest Barca side ever when the season before he took over, Barca were third and 18 points behind Madrid. Underperforming not winning anything in two seasons prior to pep coming in
That team had already won the ucl, messi was already a top 3 player and players like xavi, iniesta, etoo... were already in their prime, so yes, he walked into the greatest group of players Barça ever had.
same team which had won the league and champions league couple of years back? if I recall there were huge injury issues with that team before Pep took over!
Ferguson took pep to dinner years ago in an attempt to convince him to take over man united after he left in 2013, pep respectfully declined as he knew he would always be in sir Alex's shadow and wanted to create his own legacy. Peps the best manager of his generation by far but better than ferguson overall nah, freguson built successful teams time and time again using a lot of below par players.
Fergie had referees on texting terms. They helped him by not giving penalties against United and gave spurious penalties against rivals like Arsenal. When Moyes took over one referee gave three penalties against United at home and one referee remarked that would never have happened during Fergie's time. United was the only team which could afford better players . Pep is better and will surpass Fergie by the time he retires
This is about the forth time in as many months this question has been debated. For me though its always sir Alex. What he did at Aberdeen was phenomenal, after he left the have not done anything. He made UTD a powerhouse again and sustained that for so long. Again when he left that last title winning team struggled. Pep is also great and has taken his team and the game to another level, but for me its just not quite the same. Not much in it though, both amazing.
Could say that Peps influence is greater. There's a reason that Spain won World Cup and Euros when he managed barcelona, Germany won World Cup when he managed there and England have done alot better since he's been here. And the teams he managed continued to win after he was there. There's alot to say there about his influence
This current City team is the best team ive ever seen play. If we win the treble itll fuel the derby given they will be the only 2 teams to win the treble. Also a reminder when Pep came to the league he changed English football. Made every team reevaluate their style of play
Bcuz ur young. The 2005 AC milan squad that Liverpool somehow beat in Istanbul was arguable the greatest club side ever assembled world class international in ever position r, only squad comparable to the greatest club side ever which was 2011 barcelona..City don't have world class internationals in every position they just have 2 squads that can rotate unlike everyone else in the epl bcuz of money and are nowhere near those two squads

The only arguement we agree on that Ferguson is a better ''PREMIER LEAGUE'' manager. Pep is already left him behind in his 4th season bro. You guys keep saying farmers league check what premier league was back then. He created the greatest team ever. Period. Pep above all.

Saying "Messi has not been at the same level since Guardiola left Barcelona" is laughable. Messi has won a champions league with Barcelona under Luis Enrique and has won copa america, finalissima and a world cup under Lionel Scaloni and different teams. He is the most talented player I have seen in my life.
I'm a Utd fan and can admit Pep's Barca sides are the best club sides I've ever seen. Man City are a different beast. They're a machine that's been designed from the ground up with infinite funds to to have the infrastructure, recruitment, backroom staff and coaches at a level where they're capable of hitting 100 points a season. It's hugely impressive how they play and what they've done the past few years in particular but they're setup to do just that and it should be expected. That's why IF they complete the treble it's not going to be anywhere near as impressive as when Utd did it. Nobody was expecting us to have an exceptional season, we had a bunch of homegrown talent and didn't have a £100m striker, £100m winger etc. City should have won the CL a few times already and it's just not going to be as impressive if they do the treble. They might be a better side than our 99 team but it won't be as much of an achievement, how can it be when City have such an expensive squad and everything in place to allow them to compete year after year with no need to have a year or two out whilst they rebuild?
I hear you...but money wise....UTD are probably closest to city...you guys can also get whichever striker you want....sooo many wasted talents. Look at their most important players like Gundo, kdb etc...none of them were ridiculous fees. They spend their funds very well. Almost no flops. Sooo...United fukd up if you ask me. Bit similar to Chelsea. Clubs like Ars and Liverpool have really done well with their limited funds.
@@jagjit4001 Arsenal's invincible season is a weird one. @@endlessmotion2255 Going a full season unbeaten in the League is almost impossible. The treble has been done by few teams at the top level. That is why it's is so impressive.
Pep completely outplayed SAF's Manchester United in 2 champions league finals, one of which had SAF shaking and trembling his hands. To get a manager to do that, is practically unheard of. Considering how dominant Pep's Barcelona was, Pep is definitely a better manager than SAF.
Beating someone in two one off games isn't proof of anything. If Sir Alex was managing today he would evolve and find a way to overcome City. He did it every time someone turned up and thought they were special.
Barca shouldn't of even been in that 2009 final, if it hadn't of been for a corrupt bribed ref then it would of been chelsea in that final, how pep kept a straight face when being interviewed after I will never know
Pep has done it all with great teams. Fergie did the European cup winners cup with Aberdeen. Also that team that won the 20th title for Fergie wouldn't have done that with any other manager I think
People ALWAYS forget the 3 foreigners rule on English clubs in the 90's. That and the ban of English teams in Europe for a few seasons hindered United massively.
A man from Bristol and a man from Birmingham put up as the spokespeople as the clubs fans to debate Manchester United and Manchester City really does some their fan bases 😂
It was an amazing debate but I could care less. Off the title alone I disliked knowing just how blasphemous Buvey is. Guardiola adopting Ready Made Barca teams stacked with some of the greatest to ever play will never match Sir Alex Ferguson's 30 years of success with scratch made squads and rebuilding club franchises. Notice Buvey mentioned very little of Guardiola's stint with City knowing that pretty much defines Guardiola's adoption process of rich, talented squads. Is Guardiola one of the best managers ever? Absolutely. Is he better than the GOAT Sir Alex Ferguson? Not in the slightest.
Im a City fan but this is a futile arguement until Pep has bossed City for 26 years ..... as Fergie did at Old Trafford. And i just can't see Pep staying that long ...
Total waffle to dismiss The Invincibles. I'm not saying they were the best side ever but no one else has repeated it since. That makes them top 3 prem sides of all time AT LEAST

Fergie spent 26 seasons at Utd yet only won 2 C/Ls Pep been slated since he arrived at city for not winning 1 in 7 seasons. Pep will be remembered for his Barca and City teams. Fergie never evolved the game. Both up there with Paisley and Clough, but Paisley won 19 trophies in only 9 seasons, 3 of them were European cups, Cloughie won back to back European cups. Cloughie was the greatest man manager.
Its only new supporters that are saying pep is better, what makes SAF superior is that the fact he took Aberdeen from the nowhere to success won then the Scottish league which hadn't been won for 25 years t the time and since SAF left they havent won it again, he got Aberdeen to the Cup winners cup final beating Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in final and winning it. Then leaving for united (which was a he huge as they weren't challenge and struggled for many years) who hadn't won a league title in 30 years at to eventually winning in 92/93 (42 games back then), and go go on to dominate for two decades winning various doubles and a treble along the way and build several championship winning team with money earned via revenue (no sugar daddy!) Pep as great as he is tactically has never build a team with restricted funding and has always taken over team that were already successful, in my opinion I rateJose a lot higher because hes done both with Porto turning them into a champions league winning side and winning the double in 2003 as well as with inter in 2010. I think based on this there will always be an question mark on pep.
Mourinho won the champions league with Porto. Doesn't make him anywhere near pep though. Pep is the greatest and I don't care what Ferguson won with Aberdeen.
This is by far the worst debate ever. Shaw Casemiero Bruno Varane Martinez Rashford Peps base starts with them. That’s not banter that’s cold hard facts. This wasn’t a genuine debate the city fan was only there to be a fan. Was to be expected they’re still not used to success yet.
Adam has a point as does Buvey with regards to "luck" in the Champions League. United were arguably one of the best teams in Europe in 1997 and we lost 2-0 to Dortmund over 2 legs and they beat a supreme Juventus side in the final. Champions League always has this potential to be spawny.

@@samkhan5661 Man United only lost 4 games in all competitions that season. The league was also harder back then. City have lost 6 this season and are playing in much weaker European competition.
I've always been a huge opponent of judging teams on cup competitions. It's easy to say "they should've won the UCL", but in any given year there are a dozen teams that "should be able to win". If you look at any given team, zero in on their performance, it will look absolutely miserable. Juventus, Atleti, AC Milan, Dortmund, Spurs, PSG, Lyon - they've all had teams that were capable of winning the UCL in recent memory, but none of them have in a good while. Ferguson only won it twice at United while similarly dominating the league. The thing is, it's easy to judge a team as failures when you ignore the nature of the competition. One bad game from you or one good game from your opponent in any stage can mean you're knocked out. And you're playing against literally the best teams in Europe, so there's no such thing as a free lunch. I'm not saying I hate cup competitions, but there's an inherent sense of luck involved in a sport like football, where you could play the same game on a different day and get a different result, when knockouts are involved.
A question I have to ask the brits here is this; what's with the fascination with wanting your club to be percieved as a 'bigger club' than someone else's? I'm a foreign fan of Liverpool, but if a Manchester United or Real Madrid fan told me their club was 'bigger' than Liverpool, I'd be like "yeah? I agree, and what's your point?" Why do people care so much whos club is considered 'bigger' than another club? Also just fyi, I find both Buvey and Mckola to be massively entertaining and like them both.

I think I'll agree with Buvey here. SAF was a great manager, easily one of the greatest. But Pep has managed the best ever club team in Barca, and built the best ever EPL team in City. That's gotta mean something. SAF couldn't find a way around Barcelona using Pep's system, and there's a chance he would have felt the same playing Pep's Man City.

The argument " Pep Is A Better Manager Than Sir Alex Ferguson" I think was said well in a video between Keane and Cara. Pep without a doubt will be the most successive manager ever but he's either been very smart or too safe by doing it with title favorite teams already. He doesn't have the renown for bringing up lesser teams like Aberdeen for Ferg and BVB for Klopp and I think that's the only thing that would ever hold that part of his legacy back with that regard. If he did turn lets say Roma into a beast of a team, I think he could take best manager of all time in all areas.
So are we really going to credit the players more than pep ?

It’s a myth to say that pep walked in to the greatest Barca side ever when the season before he took over, Barca were third and 18 points behind Madrid. Underperforming not winning anything in two seasons prior to pep coming in
That team had already won the ucl, messi was already a top 3 player and players like xavi, iniesta, etoo... were already in their prime, so yes, he walked into the greatest group of players Barça ever had.

below par players? Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Keane, Beckham, Schmeichel and Scholes don't sound like below par, just to name a few
Fergie had referees on texting terms. They helped him by not giving penalties against United and gave spurious penalties against rivals like Arsenal. When Moyes took over one referee gave three penalties against United at home and one referee remarked that would never have happened during Fergie's time.
The greatest club side ever 2005 AC MILAN EVER assembled arguably with the 2011 barca squad Yyet Istanbul proved the ucl isn't gauranteed and why it's the greatest ucl final ever but the greatest comeback in football EVER
What about winning the league with 79 points in that year?!?..including 13 draws..you would struggle with a top 4 spot with those points nowadays..
Messi 91 goals in at calander year? Half of the goals came after Guardiola left. This guy talks crap. Tito Vilanova was manager season 2012/13.
Bragging rights, tribalism and pride of one's club.
@@ryancarlo9328 it's just a card they pull out because there respective clubs aren't at the top anymore, more out of desperation in a debate if anything.
@@funnyfuse3869 Not a fair answer because clubs like Liverpool and United will brag about being the biggest clubs in England when their at the top. But clubs like Newcastle and Leeds and Everton do sometimes do that for that reason.
@@funnyfuse3869 buvey couldn’t say anything back tho. For city fans to still admit united are a bigger club hurts them deeply. They know they will never overtake us
@@ryancarlo9328 yeah I get that what I mean is when it's "yeah but we are a bigger club" they never used that when they were at the top.
"i'd get him a ticket" course Buvey would so many empty seats
How can you not think of a team who dominated from august to may, Liverpool done it 3 years ago 🤣
These two have great chemistry, should do a podcast or something together
This man city fan saying that Messi has been not the same since pep guardiola left there my bro you are absolutely wrong Messi has been the same since he started playing football even he showed every body last world that Messi is still the best player in the world football and I believe Messi is better than everyone in the right now
It is a bloody fact. Pep is Billion times better the Alex.
Pep never won a ucl without messi
Adam just dropped beautiful fact to shut buvey up
Sir alex won it twice . Pep won it twice beating sir alex . Just proves who is better. Also messi has won only 1 after pep . According to your logic messi should win every ucl if he was the only reason
@@grealish2234 just cause saf lost 2 ucl finals again pep doesn't mean he's better
Pep lost ucl final against tuchel, does that make him better than pep?
Messi won it twice without pep
Also 2019 messi is greater than any messi version under pep cause he was carrying a deadass team all the to the semi finals and la liga win
Typical city and man United fans, neither of them is from Manchester, probably neither of them even go to games, and the city fan has no ball knowledge whatsoever, pep didn’t win the treble in 09/10, mourinho’s inter won the ucl that year
Clubs Pep managed so far
1 Barca ( with Messi , Xavi , Iniesta )
2 Bayern Munich
3 Mancity ( when they already had all top players )
If he is able to repeat that success with a bottom side & bring it to Top like Sir Alex then only he can be compared .
Barca B
Barca with Messi etc.. that finished 3rd in a 2 team league.
Bayern that had only won the league once in the previous 3 seasons.
City that finished 4th on goal difference and had Wilfred Bony, Jesus Navas, 4 30+ FBs, Demichelis, Mangala,.. not had all top players.
When you've done world class at every job you've been at, you deserve the best jobs. Crazy how people think he's somehow worse and he needs to manage Luton Town to prove himself or something
Fergie was a manager, guardiola is just a coach. Theres a team of people at city doing what fergie did. Guardiola failed at Bayern Munich and, unless they win UCL this season, has so far failed at city.
Still doesn’t change the fact that sir alex always gets voted as number 1 in all sports magazines. Even rinus michaels is better than pep😂😂cry more
What people dont remember is the team Pep inherited was also full of world class players and with one of the GOATS! that side had won the league and CL few years ago and had talented players all around, but that being said Pep really took off with that side and made them untouchable!
Sir Alex couldnt find a way around that team because that team was genuinely out of the world, with some of the best players we have seen play the game,
Mourinho beat peps barca with inter it doesn’t make him a better manager😂bros using one off cup games as a gauge for who’s better. Bless you
@@Johndoe-gf7eu
Brilliant. If City win the treble this year I’m sure that every City fan will still be crying because Match of the Day magazine said he was the third best manager of all time.
@@Johndoe-gf7eu lol "cry more". What a wet little boy you are 😂.
I'm a long time Manchester United fan.
Why would I want Pep to be the best? 🤦🏾♂️
John Doe with a dead opinion 😂
I know this is just banter and all, but why do people forget about Fergie winning European Cup against Real Madrid with focking Aberdeen? That was the last time Madrid lost an european final btw
Casimero has more champions lague than man united as well but adam won't mention that 🤣🤣🤣
@@RRR-vr7cdwhat a way to deflect facts 🤣 you definitely trained on that urinated fool 🤡
That City fan is so arrogant, Casemiro & Rashford would walk into that City team
shutup
@@GymPolar with Pep roulette being a thing I think they would play.
And we won the treble😌🩵
Lentini for Milan in 93 was the worlds most expensive player at £13m
I think pep is slightly better bcoz he has won league titles in 3 different leagues , he beat sir Alex man u teams in two champions league finals
The only thing I would say about Sir Alex is what was Manchester United like before and after Sir Alex joined
Tuchel beat pep doesn’t mean hes better
Mourinho beat pep with inter
you're right sir Alex could never win a league with Barca with Messi and could never win a league with Bayern
@@Johndoe-gf7eu Barca dominated almost the whole game in the 2 finals sir Alex teams couldn't catch them , Mourinho and tuchel won by lucky goals and then park the bus that's not football according to me
Agreee pep has proven it time and time everywhere he goes furgasson had one hell of a team
I would absolutely love to sit down and have a quiet pint of wine with Buvey.
Manchester City will be a bigger club than United in the future
Already are
Delusional city fans yet again.
Will never be recognised with 115 charges
Makes a change seeing a Southern City fan
City are a better team, and have been a number of years but they just arent as glamorous in terms of the history and the culture of Man United
Buvey hasn't always been a city fan..
He probably supported Chelsea 5 years ago. He's what you call a weatherman!!! And that carrot cruncher accent is a disgrace!!!
It's actually funny how people are seriously debating this. Pep has probably spent 5-7 times what furgeson has just to be less successful. And that's not even considering the 100+ violations and the few hundred million off the book payments made by city. Even at barcelona pep benefited from under table payments to refs.
Look the guy is definitely good and probably in the top 5 best managers of all time. But for the love God, he isn't half the manager furgeson was. He knows it and everyone who is serious about football does. Only recent casuals (basically city or barca fans) believe he's better.
I personally think that If Pep stays in the premier league the same amount as Ferg and does what he's been doing, he will be the greatest ever manager in the prem without question.
City success driven by
20M Gundo,15M Akanji,15M Alvarez
Foden and Rico from Academy
Pep can't win with Small Clubs?🤔
With that logic Maradonna is greater than Messi
Get out of Tottenham first mate
No, thats what haters think only.
@@TheFirstWhiteRanger you do know how much United squad costs? by that comparison, brilliant players like Walker and debryne are for literal pennies. Keep your 80 mil Maguire, 100 mil pogba and 75 mil sancho😂
people saying casemiro and varane having more ucl's than man city is flawed as they have more than man utd as well
lol great to see these 2 together again
They have a great podcast for some months with Rory, called the Club, check it out.
Not a fan of either. You cant be bigger than Man U just on that 90's squad. Coming through the ranks is far better than buying established pros.
