teams are better now because players arent hacked at every game. Arsenal has always been a team who tried to play football under Wenger and were subject to brutal tackles by the oppositions. City's centurions and treble side did not face that.
Invincibles is crazy to achieve, especially telling you gonna go before season starts. That's Wenger's brilliance. Centurions is great achievement, but on that season Liverpool were close to centurions as well. And that's because a league was very poor that year.

The quality of all the teams in the prem has changed since the invincible season. Yes, a team with over 100 points would beat a team with less points and no losses. But the only real way to compare the two sides would be to have them face the same clubs with the same players for a whole season. I think the fact that the invincibles were not worse than their opponents on any single match day for a whole season means more. The points earned at the end of the season is an arbitrary number that basically sums up the relation between how good the team is and how all of their opponents are. In the case of city, they were disproportionately better than other prem teams the centurion season. Does not apply to 03/04 invincible season and I would bet that city squad would not have won the prem that season.

PLEASE USE MY ARGUMENT ON THE Show LADS!!! premier league play is all about points. To go Undefeated is a massive accomplishment but the fact remains that 100 points is more than what the invincibles picked up that year. If the two teams were playing in The same year, city would be champions and no one would have given the invincibles as much credit. Hate to say it as an Arsenal supporter but 100 points city team is the bigger accomplishment between them.
@@OssianF1Agreed because Premier League is like the Super League. All the billionaires are flocking in. Premier League in 2004 was objectively easier.
I'm an Arsenal fan but the City Centurions had a better overall squad but I think the Invincibles was probably the best 1st 11 in the league. Cole, Campbell, Vieira, Gilberto, Pires, Bergkamp and Henry in your starting line up, great players and could not get physically bullied. Oh and that 12 draws thing, one was at White Heart Lane where a draw was sufficient to win the league and we drew 2 of the last 4 games having already won the league. In 2004 the pressure was on for Arsenal to not lose any of the last 4 games and for City the pressure was on to get to 100. Both achieved those objectives and both are special to each fan base so just let each fan base enjoy them.
@@Nne-nne What do you mean I'm no Arsenal fan, I think that going a league season unbeaten in 38 games is the best achievement because I don't think it will happen again, Man City won a treble after Man Utd won it 24 years earlier and in 1984 Liverpool won a treble with the league, European Cup and League Cup. So 3 trebles in a 30 year span means the Invincible's achievement is more unique, special and memorable. Now Alex Ferguson said that the Invincible's achievement is the pinnacle of all and who am I to argue with him. The fact is that Man City's 2018 team is a stronger squad but the Arsenal 2004 first 11 is the best and.most well balanced first 11 in the Premier League era and no team today has the combination of skill, class and physicality to match it.
100 is a 10 base number writing method...10^2...nothing special. But winning the league with no one celebrating against you is just so Special. and also...don't underrate the invincibles with 90 points, 11 points above the second.😤😤

From an Arsenal fan Fml, we’re just hanging on to this gold trophy for dear life, absolutely noway you can compare an unbeaten season to winning a treble with a champions league included, the treble is undoubtedly better we gotta stop living in the past
Are you comparing the teams or the achievements? Team, I’d go Invincibles. Achievement, I’d go Centurions. They also won the league cup, making it a double in 2017-18, smoking Arsenal in the final. I'd rather have 2 trophies, more points, and more goals than drawing against teams like Portsmouth, Charlton, Bolton, etc
I thought City will go unbeatable this season to win Prem & also win FA cup invincible & double. But Pep has diff plans maybe like forget invincible let’s win the treble again. 😂
city can’t draw 12 games lol so we risk losing to win games. Going invincible is not the goal lol getting the most points as possible is the goal for league football.
Big Steve, they don't mention invincibles on monday night football and other prime time shows because everyone knows it ain't happening again. That Arsenal trio of Bergkamp, Henry and Pires would destroy any defence in the modern day.
They do actually mention it, that’s the funny thing, but as you rightly pointed out, they know it’s not happening any time soon. Especially when there are no teams that are still undefeated come November , December etc..

Only arsenal fans think the invincibiles was more impressive id rather win more games and finish on more points while losing a game or two the whole season
I’m giving it to Centurions just about. The Invincibles achievement is getting underrated, but 100 points to destroy every team like that is ridiculous.
32 wins is just insane, most goals and highest goal difference ever + biggest point difference between number one and two are just some insane records that the invincibles could never match
No team is trying to go invincible lol. When the game is drawing city and Liverpool will have to play high risk because they want as much points as possible.
Steve saying that he'd rather have 100 points is utter rubbish, if any Man City fan was 100% honest they would say that an unbeaten season is what they want to achieve...
Nobody cares about drawing 12 games. Barca had the chance to go unbeated a couple years ago on the final day of the season and rested Messi for a post season friendly.
i am being 100% honest and putting this on my life when i say i'd rather centurions. The prestige of each achievement is even, neither has been repeated, but while unbeaten is a cool achievement, but 100 points is harder to do. if arsenal's invincible team had played in city's centurion season they would have come second by 9 WHOLE POINTS. If city's centurions had played during the invincible season, they would have come first, by 9 WHOLE points. At the end of the day football is about who's better, not who can keep the most clean sheets. end of.
The Invincible team doesn't even make the top 5 most points in PL history. They could've won 3 more games and they still wouldn't have reached Liverpool that finished 2nd in 2018/19 🤷♂️
I pick invincible, as a neutral, because I think it's harder to replicate, Liverpool did get 99 points, someone will break that record eventually, probably Man City themselves tbf. Also, 100 points is just a random number, just because it's round doesn't mean that much to me

The thing with Arsenal’s own invincibles is that in most seasons they wouldn’t even finish top 4 with that run they had, but with the centurions you can win the league every season.
You are smoking crack 😅 90 points wouldn’t be enough to finish top 4 most seasons? Bro the average for a fourth placed team is 71 points.. the average amount of points to win the league is 87 points… bro the invincible’s got 90 points go look at all the champions in prem history. Since it started in 92/93 Arsenal’s 90 points would have been enough to win the prem in 22 seasons….
The simplest way for Buvey and Steve to win the debate is to ask: What would no losses and 12 draws have gotten Arsenal in the 2018-19 season? Third behind City and Liverpool. That's a fact. Even if you gave Arsenal a win and draw against both City and Liverpool that season. 100 points wins the league in every single season so far and likely ever. That said, as a City supporter, I have Henry first among Premier League strikers and Aguero second.

Mate, there is one fatal flaw in your analogy. Your premise is if two students take the same test, in the same year. I mean the invincibles was a great achievement. But the teams are a lot better now so it is harder to repeat. That city team back then would've not lost a game and could have potentially won every game...
teams are better now because players arent hacked at every game. Arsenal has always been a team who tried to play football under Wenger and were subject to brutal tackles by the oppositions. City's centurions and treble side did not face that.
Invincibles don't win the league with that point tally nowadays

You’re no Arsenal fan. Buying the best players and doing it the proper way and going unbeaten is the best.

That’s not how you compare seasons from 14 years apart. You have to look at the standard deviation and adjust the points
No, man united finished second that season, the season after that was the fourmidables when Liverpool finished second on 97 points
100 points is the best achievement simply because it wins the league if both are playing in the same year.

Mate, there is one fatal flaw in your analogy. Your premise is if two students take the same test, in the same year. The football equivalent would be if Arsenal went invincible and city got 100 points in the same season.
