I get jealous watching these videos :). In NJ we dont get upfront pricing or upfront destination!! We're flying blind. The only help we get is a notice that a trip is 45 minutes plus before we accept. I decline all of those since 99% are going into rough hoods or New York City.
@@KarelleDIY OMG that's horrible! An other feature we get here in Wisconsin with Lyft is the upfront destination and fares. It's great since sometimes we don't want to go into area's where it's deem unsafe or a high crime rate. Our Uber gives us none of that information unless you are a Platinum/ Diamond driver but instead of fare and exact destination, it gives us ETA miles and direction, north, east southwest... it sux to have the Platinum/Diamond status because it forces you into zero movement zones where their are big concerts or events taking place. And many times the passengers are not even waiting at the right area and wont cancel the request as car's are not allowed in the area's of their locations at events. My acceptance ratting went from 95% to now 30% after my first summer driving over the summer when all the events take place. I fell for the trap and got stuck in traffic for $5-7/hr rides
Bro you doing it all wrong. You're looking at high fares but disregarding the milage. Most of your rides are $1 per mile or less. Never take rides that require more than 1 mile pick ups unless you're heading that way anyway and always strive for $2+ per mile.
I see what you're saying, in theory, it sounds good. But if I did that out here I'd be waiting 30-60 mins for a ride. I'm not really worried about the mileage at the moment because the car was in storage for a little over a year.
I say you disregard milage and take the highest paying rides, however you can make the most per hour. If your driving an expensive vehicle that is a big mistake Ubering in my opinion.
I am in Sacramento area ride sharing. How do you keep your dash cam from coming loose? In the heat mine comes undone. Not when driving but when car sits and I come out in the morning.
I have no idea how you can drive in that heat even with AC on. The sun is still glaring into the vehicle. As for the rides, yea I would cherry pick the good ones. Like someone said, $7-9 rides for short trips are actually good. Were talking short trips that are around 2miles. I find that for myself, I'll get incredibly frustrated and burned out after accepted those low ball trips all day. I think its incredibly ridiculous and shady for uber to pay you $19 for a 19mile trip. Those are money losses on the drivers end (unless youre headed in that direction).

I agree that the shorter rides here (which are often from one casino to the next) along with all the traffic and construction going on in Las Vegas, you can sit in traffic a LONG time on a 2 mile ride. There’s a joke around here that the state flower is a construction cone. They are everywhere!!!
Rideshare companies provide insurance. With terrible deductible $2500. I bought additional rideshare insurance. 500 deductible. I'm driving an Audi Q7. It cost me an additional $110 a month on top of my regular car insurance.

It depends on how much you need to make a month. You could make a lot more in California. The car you use also plays a big role on how much you could make.

I would say Lyft is just as busy as Uber. It just depends on what Las Vegas has going on that day. I usually drive with both apps on and just take the ride that makes the most sense for me. But yeah, you definitely could get by with just driving Lyft.

I always pay $20 to $40 from the LAS to the Strat - and less for a morning ride back - plus a tip - made me think that must be a good driver route

Anyone here using a Tesla for rideshare? They qualify for Uber Premier and I think there is a good market here in Las Vegas for that.

I avoid the strip or downtown. It's a waste of gas and you lose money. My motto is "Strip no trip!"

Last time I checked an $8 ride for 2 miles is FAR better than a $19 ride for 22 miles! Your rides you except are highly suspect.
