To be honest Emily seems to be a very good driver. Watching this made me remembered exactly what my instructor told me few hours ago, that when you think you made a mistake, just let it go and concentrate because when the mind concentration on the initial mistake, it builds up. This video came to me the right time. Thank you.
First and last five minutes are key times on test. Start a little cautiously for one or two junctions, then get your normal game going. When you think you are near the end, get your concentration going and buck up as people tend to slack off thinking it's all in the bag or gone to pot.
At 32:00 she describes how she felt about the test which was after the first minor mistake near the start she kind of lost heart. After 28 minutes or three quarters of the way through a driving test she makes a serious error that would cause a fail. 28:35 she passes across an exit signalling left but does not exit there (serious fault). Within about one minute she wants to start on a red traffic light, serious fault 29:45. Another near serious fault follow immediately. . Her main problem is that as soon as she makes a mistake she continues with an analysis of it in her head. This is when you are not thinking about what's happening now and what's coming up next. If you realise you made a mistake on test, forget the incident it may be marked minor.
actually was a great drive! sort out your traffic lights issue and you will do fine, i actually had the same problem with anxiety when i was learning and found that calms helped me no end! just one before the actually test i passed last year in aug 1st time with only 2 minors, your driving is really good and smooth, you should pass no problem, looking forward to hearing you passed soon :)
I passed mine with 10 minors. I was literally like..1 mistake my head went out of the window😂 I remember my examiner told me “don’t worry about me and anything else, take a deep breath- just drive safely and pay attention to the road.”
This video has encouraged me that am not the only one making silly mistakes but sometimes your teacher driver makes you feel like you're most stupid and it knocks your confidence right back ,. Still not giving up on learning I have spent a fortune already so I can't give up🙏
Aman you are a very good instructor ,I love to watch your videos,so much informative .You are so polite and explain things v good.I wish u can take my mock test .I am an auto car learner.I learnt so many things from your videos.🙂
That happened to me... I thought I’d failed my test & pretty much gave up. I was shocked when he handed over the paperwork, the examiner said that was the best drive he’d had for a long time 😂. Take the advice, never give up!
Its one of those, where she did not question the traffic light. Before doing her maneuver. Like my instructors says. "Think Ahead". The roundabout section, I usually count each exit to know the right one. She did pretty well overall, more practice that's all.
Emily is so cute and we are so alike hehe, I love to talk while I drive, literally its like my inhibitions go away! I hope she gets her licence soon! Good luck
Just in case anyone is watching this , before their test, make sure anyone crossing the road in front of you. Has both feet on the pavement when they have finished crossing. As i know two people that have failed, because they didnt wait until they feet are on pavement.
I lost count of the number of my students who failed a mock test and passed the real one with flying colours. Mock tests are really useful for giving learners a 'feel' for the real thing, and because they're nervous about a novel experience, it's perfectly normal to mess things up first time round. The DSA (DVSA?) can say what they like: we all know nerves play a part on the day, and it's always best to get the bugs out of the system beforehand. I'm sure Emily will do just fine, and very best of luck to her.
Hello from USA. Emily is a good driver. I can't believe you girls learning to drive in a manual shift car. Everyone I know in USA learn to drive with automatic shift car.
Yes Emily did pick it up very quickly, you just need to keep practicing You just need to control your vehicle safely for the driving test. You don’t need to drive perfect. Once you get your licence, you can keep practice and be as good as Emily or better! Stick to it, don’t give up! :) Good luck 😊
I was taught that when stationary the gearbox should be in neutral and the handbrake engaged. Sitting with feet on brakes and clutch, might result in jumping forward if you were rear-ended. You should avoid stopping abreast of a large parked vehicle, since it partially blocks the road. Should you be signalling left whilst stationary in a left turn only lane? If you think that you might be hit by a truck, let it go, else you will come off worst. Shut up and concentrate on the road! With that opportunity, I would pull forward into the next parking space, since it saves reversing out later.
I don't get how some faults are only counted as serious when other people are around (like the signaling when moving around an obstacle at junctions, or the stopping for a traffic light that's not for you). To me, it would be much more logical if the fault is serious or not depending on the implications it _could_ have, rather then the ones it has in the current situation. I mean, you wouldn't not count driving through red as a serious fault purely 'cause nobody was affected by it, right? So why do these certain ones depend on if it currently had an effect on others?
Had my real test today, failed with 5 minutes to go as instructor applied break at the same time I did, apart from that only had 2 other minors😩 not the end of the world I can try again!

I can't stop thinking of it either. Failed my first test yesterday in the last 30 seconds whilst parking up at the test centre as another learner was too close and I was meant to pull away.... :(
I would recommend to put the car in neutral when waiting for green to take place.. Why would someone be waiting with its foot on the clutch in gear for like a minute

Exactly, you have to ask yourself "is the average person who has driven for 5 plus years, driving perfectly?". Of course they aren't, the instructor just wants to see your not going to kill anyone or make any obvious mistakes.
At 15:20 when Emily stalled the engine I was surprised that it could actually be considered a major fault. In my country instructors always keep repeating that stalling the engine is not counted during the test... Well, except for one unlucky girl from my group of people for the test who stalled the engine 6 times in a row because at the very beginning of her test she had to exit a parking with just a slightly uphill exit.
Stalling isn't an issue. The fault would be causing another driver to change speed or direction which can be considered a serious fault. It would be very harsh in this situation though IMO. First, whoever beeped was an idiot! Beeping a learner for pulling away a little bit slow!? Plus she recovered almost instantly.
@@Jac70 Drivers beeping at the learning car looks bad, but it actually trains you to stay focused, to know your rights and to be able to recover knowing that you've made a mistake.
I have only recently just passed my test after procrastinating over doing it for 20 years 6 lessons in like 2001, 6 in 2019 etc then finally done it this year some how managed to pass with about 30 lessons overall not sure how. But I have been saying if you have a driving test examiner in your vehicle while you drive without you knowing what they do I seriously think a lot of people would fail due to how bad they drive after they pass.
Accroding to DVLA advice, learner drivers should take 45 hours of lessons plus 20 private lessons, why people attempt to take a driving test after 10 or 20 lessons???? Surely, a chance of fail is higher...you will more likely fail..driving is a skill...it won't come quick..
In your experience where would you rather have a test for? Southall or Uxbridge. Right now I have mine booked for first week December at Southall and not sure if I should get Uxbridge instead or should I just focus on being a good confident driver and not worry too much about it haha

My instructor didn’t give me a straight answer so if you do the reverse parallel park wrong (for example finish too wide to the kerb) can you go back to the start and align with the car you did it against and start again, and pass? (Ie would that be a fail or a minor?)
Hey yes you can but that would be to long. It’s best to just adjust it instead of starting it all again. It will go down as a minor if you have to correct it.
@@ClearviewDriving thank you I’ll keep that in mind! Just back from a lesson and same again always end up a bit wide 😭 4 weeks until my test to improve 😂
The road is slightly uphill and the car doesn't have hill assist or the angle is very small for it to engage. Either case, when you release the brakes and the engine is not engaged either by being on neutral or having the clutch pressed, you should always expect the car to start moving if the road is not flat.

Hey anyone know if the car had anti stall? Just curious as I have some people telling me I need to restart the car once it stalls put handbrake etc but my learner car has anti stall
Most new cars when you stall the engine, pressing the clutch down will restart it straight away As a good habit when you stall, press brake and clutch and then try moving off normally again You don’t need to apply the handbrake (this is what they used to teach years back) it’s not necessary anymore Hope this helps

34:14 is it just me who doesn’t think it’s worth telling a learner driver that it was a ‘good drive’ when they failed? Even if they did, is that really gonna make them feel any better about it? Bottom line is, it wasn’t enough was it? I’m saying this having had that said to me by an examiner before, so it’s myself I’m being rash towards not anybody else. I know how it feels - I actually thought being told that it was a ‘good drive’ when I’d failed because of ONE mistake (which in my case was partly similar to the first major fault in this video) made it feel 100 times worse. I’m absolutely rubbish at driving and I don’t think I’ll ever pass. Yeah my instructor thinks I’m good enough but it’s been proven on THREE occasions that I can’t do it because I can’t perform when it matters. I’d rather save tests for people who deserve them (e.g. not me) cuz for me to take one right now would be a waste of a test.

@@ClearviewDriving ohh exactly, I thought that the fault was that she was driving on green lights. But the fault was when she stopped to red lights(which she shouldn’t have done). Thank you for the response!
I can relate, failed my real test in last 5 mins :( next test 28th sep
Oh no :( good luck for your next test!
You will be a lot more aware of what to expect and you will do great
@@ClearviewDriving Passed today with 5 minors. Can’t believe I can finally join the club waited to long for it 👍👍thanks for the vids
What's the name of the instructor? She is really BEAUTIFUL and very good at her job! Shout out from me... !! From Johannesburg, South Africa.
Hey thank you :)
My names aman
Glad the videos are useful 😊
Is it wrong to signal first than check mirrors? I usually do that
You should always use mirrors and signal accordingly
You will get marked down for this if someone is affected with your signal (if a cyclist or motorbike is overtaking and you signal and don’t check first)
@@ClearviewDriving but I'm still checking like instantly when signalling, I'm from Africa and was taught this way but I see in Europe they mirror first then signal. I don't see how it makes any difference you're still checking.
@@TahirAmeenGaming it’s only if someone is affected it would be an issue. If you’re regularly checking mirrors, then it won’t be an issue.
Emily dont worry next time you paas
Hey anyone know if the car had anti stall? Just curious as I have some people telling me I need to restart the car once it stalls put handbrake etc but my learner car has anti stall
Most new cars when you stall the engine, pressing the clutch down will restart it straight away
As a good habit when you stall, press brake and clutch and then try moving off normally again
You don’t need to apply the handbrake (this is what they used to teach years back) it’s not necessary anymore
Hope this helps
Hei Aman do you cover SE4 I would like to do lessons with you.
Imagine drving a mercedes in a driving test but yet you still fail the test
driving a mercedes doesn’t mean ur a good driver though 🤨
Isn't England gorgeous on a sunny day
It is indeed. It helps that they were driving around the nicest part of Greater London

Yeah.
Signalling and not taking the exit is askin for a car through the passenger window.
Not cool.
😭😭I know it could have gone so horribly wrong
@@ClearviewDriving ( just wanted to tell the person who said her driving was fine 😉 praise is good, but if you give them too much, they sometimes say ' as I did so well last time, I've booked a test for next week 🥴)
Yay the masks are off!
Teacher- Are you deliberately trying to be ultra serious?try to act as your usual self, its so annoying
It’s a mock test so instructors will act like an examiner so the pupil is aware of what to expect 😊
R u leeds?
Needs to fail for not knowing she was / wasn't in the bay. You can't guess!! You have to know .
what a lovely girl
