well you could technically instead start every little object from a cube, but what would be the point when you can just copy and move on. with every object you got to start from somewhere, and when doing these low polys you kinda want all 6 sides, so doing planes would be rather silly and slow. so that's why you start from a cube: it's an already topologically-closed body, zero work.
Amazing series, I love it! I have followed along with a few of these tutorials but honestly I just enjoy sitting back and watching you build cool stuff. It's very relaxing and calming, sort of like Bob Ross teaching people how to paint happy trees. :) Keep it up!
Finally an RTS modeling video. I really love that kind of games! It will be very interesting if you post some video of how did you model the rifleman of Line War.
@Imphenzia I love your content! I advise you to rotate this solar panels for 180. It will be more realistic, cuz you want to prevent shadows on from higher part of building.
One tip that i found: if you want to separate geometry but you already modeled it and forgot to separate it just select all geometry that you want and just separate it to another object, and then join those two objects
On this animation exaggeration thing - you could've used graph editor - this way you can animate movement using curves, keeping just two keyframes ;) And also worth pointing out is to make animations for gamedev in 60fps as they will probably be seen at this speed in the game :)
I can never work out how to get the colour to change using that pallet. I have it there and work with the UV tab open, but it never works. Could you do a short video on how to do it please?
I really like your modeling! You're very talented. I was wondering, Do you have a story for your game? And is your story or setting reflected in your game models? I think games can be simple and fun, when they have a nice atmosphere or setting. Like a happy guy optimistic to overcome his battles, *like Andy in Advance Wars* . Even in Halo, when you're playing Red vs. Blue in Multiplayer Mode, you still feel like you're playing Master Chief. So, similarly, I think you would benefit a lot from having characters or maybe a Country which you play as and represent. But I think everyone wants to be a winner, so I think it would help you a lot to have a character you play as that's *optimistic* and an *overcomer* . I think it would help you in your games. Think about it! Thank you for the video, Imphenzia (wish I knew your real name, it's more personal, heheh).( ͡` ͜ʖ ͡´)
BTW. As it seems like it is pretty straightforward to work with animations that uses multiple objects. What about doing this kind of animations procedurally in Unity? I mean especially this kind. How about making some kind of prefab that sliding objects upward with a time offsets. Is there any underwater rocks that you know about?
Hey! I love your videos! I'm developing a game in unity and i've learned a lot with you. I'm having troubles tho with animating a quadruped, specificly a dog. I Wonder if you could do a 10 minute low poly dog with animation or something like that. Thaks a lot, again, I love your videos so much.
Love your stuff. I tried following along but I don't know how to color it like you did. All I have is a gray factory, looks bland. Sorry, I'm blender noob, thank you.
Bro please help me 😭😭😭😭 I've been completed my game in unity but my game project not opening no error showing and I've been try to open with sample scene but doesn't work Bro Can you please help me if you know about this 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
What is the point of doing it in just 10 minutes? Why don't take your time and properly explain each step and why you are doing it? What purpose does this "10 minutes challenge" serve?!

Crazy how this is all made from 1 simple block. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on complete 70 episodes of 10 min modelling challenge...👍👍👍

I’d love to see more 10 minute challenges for machinery and things from your game! Really enjoyed this one!
Finally an RTS modeling video. I really love that kind of games!

Very interesting. More game related modelling please!!
It's amazing!

So I take it your new RTS will have ground, sea, and air? It looks amazing so far and I can't wait to buy and play it
In which video does you go over how you load the pallete and assign the colors :) ? :D also which view mode are you in ?
The factories pop up as quickly as the condos in my neighbourhood! Say, that gives me an idea...
I'm getting some game idea vibes!!!
Use offset even to fix the problem with the extrude along face normals.

sketchfab.com/3d-models/lowpoly-rts-factory-01b110c009fd4bb3a0e25adb093c09a2
add some blocks or crates outside the building???
Nice
e to extrude
s to scale!
Love your vids
Very very cool. Do you remember this game -> Command & Conquer? and a happy birthday for your wife!. make more and more happy memories.
Looks complicated would like to be able to do that regards Chris
Will watch on Thursday will you do a drop ship 10 min challenge like in starship trooper you could use it as an transporter in your rts game
pressing S after you extrude along normals evens the thickness of the extrusion; this might be the solution to 7:25
"evens the thickness"
for some reason my brain just read Evan Dickens xD
Epic
great work man loved it ❤❤
but your solid mode looks much different from mine why ??
