American Werewolf in London was one of my favorite movies of all time. I remember finding out about this sequel, and hunting Blockbusters all over NJ for this. After a couple of years I finally came across it (at random) and completely regret any effort I put into finding it.
I seen this comment and looked up to see he only had 114,000 followers, and you posted this 5 years ago. What the actual fuck. I really thought he had millions and millions of followers.
Came across him last week. I love his gimmick of presenting his content. Added to my subscription along with decker shado, foundflix and George Rockwell. I miss good movie review shows on TV at least there is plenty good options on youtube now,
The Version ive got there is no mention of the first film the french girl isnt the daughter of the dude from the first, Claude is the 1 who made the girl so when Andy eats his heart they are both cured....her dad doesnt show up in the ambulance, theres no werewolf baby and the ending IS the jumping off the statue of liberty ha...its interesting to know theres this other version i didnt know about!!
I know you wrote this 3 yrs ago but I wanted to comment. Serafine's "undead" mother accused her of turning Claud but Serafine told her that Claud stole her blood. Also I noticed at the end of the movie Serafine had a blood transfusion after fighting with another werewolf. I think that's how she became human....
When I saw this movie as a kid.. It terrified me just like the first movie. The sewer scenes aswell as the graveyard, and tunnel scenes honestly scared me so much that I didn't want to be alone when we went on our family trip that year. (I think I saw this movie in 1999.) MY grandfather had passed away and we were flying to New Jersey to go to his funeral. I remember there was this one section of the graveyard we were in, that scared me so much, I started to cry xD
If its friday the 13th why didn't you review part VII The New Blood or parts I,II,III, or the final chapter? Do we need to wait for like 6-8 months now?
Gigantis Why the fuck do moron think this is a Sequel to the original werewolf in London when it is not connected at all the writer and director John Landry wrote a script for part two in the sequel Alex was the werewolf the girl Debbie that the boys talked about travel to London to investigate their death but it was turned down. Instead they made this Shity movie instead! Thank goodness Johns son wants to bring the original back to life and finish his father work
Kermit Donatello I just can't imagine why anyone would consider "An American Werewolf in Paris" to be a sequel to "An American Werewolf in London"? Maybe it's because it was promoted as such at its release. Maybe because it says in the opening titles that the film is based on characters created by John Landis. Maybe due to the fact that Griffin Dunne stated during a DVD commentary track on "An American Werewolf in London" that during early production John Landis seriously considered moving the whole thing to Paris and calling the film "An American Werewolf in Paris". The film "An American Werewolf in Paris" is, by definition, absolutely a sequel. Not all sequels have the same cast, director, writer, producer, or a number 2 in the title. Not all sequels pick up right after the earlier film ends. The problem with "An American Werewolf in Paris" is not its lineage to the earlier film. The problem is that it's a crap movie. I remember when it was first announced and how many people were excited to see another film similar to the first. But it soon became obvious that it was going to be yet another shit Hollywood movie.
Oh yeah! He's Back! He's the man behind the mask!! xD Welcome Back, Doc! Thank you for the new review! The Original "Werewolf In London" will always be the best!
"I shouldn't feel uplifted coming out of a horror movie." Yes, I completely agree. I usually hate happy endings in horror movies. It feels hypocritical and patronizing -- like we're kids who can't handle anything other than '...and they all lived happily ever after.'
you know doc before I go on a date I like to make a list of things I will need to make sure the date goes perfectly, 1. picnic basket, 2. blanket, 3. wine, 4. cheese, 5. out of the way location with no cell phone service, 6. duct tape, 7. shovel, 8. alibi. you can't go wrong when you plan ahead.
I remember seeing this in theatres when I was a kid its so bad but a guilty pleasure of mine now but I used to genuinely like it before I got old enough to realize 😅
When me and my friends watched this, we all thought it was mostly about romance and barely about horror. It was definitely not what I expected it to be and to be honest i was shocked by how bad it was. Harry styles famously said “my favorite thing about the movie is that it feels like a movie” and i can say that that is not how i felt about an american werewolf in paris. It felt weird, like it literally didnt know what it was or how to do plot progression or character development or anything, it was almost surreal because of how much it didnt feel like a real movie. I was shocked to hear it was even in theaters
The opening scene of American Werewolf in London actually takes place in the moors of Yorkshire, which is in Northern England. London is in the south. I always wondered why David was sent to a hospital in London instead of a local hospital. Imagine if an English tourist was injured in California and then woke up in a hospital in New York. Confusing isn't it?
i think the whole town was aware of the werewolf, and they all knew who it was. i think it was mentioned on an audiobook version of the film that the werewolf was the bald guy's brother. that's why he was so defensive with keeping the secret even after the werewolf was already dead, and fully knowing what would happen to david. they let him do his “lunar carnivore activies” everytime the full moon appeared and they all refugeed either on the slaughtered lamb or in their houses. that was the deal until david and jack happened to come across the town on a full moon night. maybe that's why they made david travel to london instead of just attending him there, or at least on some town nearby. they were to scared of telling the truth, and maybe some authorities knew about the town's story and the werewolf aswell since they never let doctor hirsch see jack's body.
I saw the Paris one first as a young teenager. It was amusing. Then much later, I saw the London one and thought, it was adequate and good - BUT CERTAINLY NOT A COMEDY! Jesus cry-st. The guy is being ripped to shreds and screaming for help because it's killing him - THAT'S NOT COMEDY. Still remains one of my top 10 most disturbing scenes ever.
No it’s not comedy but You do know it’s a HORROR comedy just like RomCom have loving scenes with serious situations and others with comedy , that’s why there are horrific parts with people being torn up not intended to be funny because it’s horror and other parts comedic with goofy Scotland Yard detectives and the zoo scene and and the porno theatre and others. John Landis couldn’t get it made long ago at first because studios thought it was too funny to be a horror and too scary to be a comedy and wouldn’t know how to market it
I remember seeing the cut of the movie with the Statue of Liberty ending. They never found the "cure" and I think Seraphine's connection to the 1st movie was very much omitted.
I can't believe all these year's of watching this and have never seen the baby ending. Or the dad in the back of the ambulance. This movie holds a special place in my heart, though. My grandpa introduced me to the original & the howling. I immediately fell in love with werewolves. Not all of them are good but the original, The Howling, Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps, Underworld, Trick r Treat, and of course this corny classic😂❤️ The new movies with all the CGI has just ruined any werewolf movie they make. The shark movie's they can't even produce a good one cause of all the CGI🤦♀️It sucks cause I would LOVE a remake of An American Werewolf In London. It would have to have zero CGI and be like the original werewolf to a T👌💯
I saw this on the big screen when I was a kid with my then best friend Sophia, who knew I was a huge werewolf fan. I saw the actor from That Thing You Do then dumped my popcorn on her. I just sat with my arms crossed waiting for the film to be over as the drummer from That Thing You Do is not the guy you want see turn in to a werewolf. I barely remember the actual plot. I just got an email from Sophia and she mentioned this film and said "We had such great times, like when we saw An American Werewolf in Paris." odd how she remembers it a fun. I just looked on youtube for a review and....yep...still think I was in the right to dump popcorn on Sophia for making me watch this film. Thanks for making this review. It was good to have a chuckle over this ick memory of youth.
The pub scene in the original isnt actually set in London. It's the fictional village of East Proctor which is set in the real life county of Yorkshire (Northern England).
technically speaking Andy was an American that was in France and was bit by a French werewolf. Andy's werewolf was born in France. so it should be "A French werewolf in Paris."?
I'm sitting on the toilet taking a shit... and I just laughed hard enough at the "What are you? Fucking Batman?" that I pushed the turd all the way out. Thank you
It took me forever to figure out why Andy looked familiar.... Tom Everett Scott played Abby Lockhart's useless brother in ER. Edit: Julie Delpy, the actress who plays Sérafine, was also in ER.
I know it's not a great movie but I still love it. The stalking in the Paris sewers/catacombs was my favorite part (even if it was so predictable). I actually think it would have made for a good werewolf movie if it had some decent acting.
What tha fuck? This is NOT the ending I remember watching as a kid. The ending I had on VHS was Serafine in the ambulance, after Andy eats the heart, says something like "Andy, you're wonderful" and the guy in the ambulance with her says, "I am not andy, but for you...." or something. And then basically cuts to Andy and Serafine getting married and bungee jumping off the tower again. I'm gonna have to look into this, but I can't believe there was a different ending that I never saw...
Thanks for letting us know that you are a Wolfulite. I'm a Sphynxian from the planet "Mogg". I look kind of like Lord Beerus from Dragonball Super, I can run faster than the speed of sound (thanks to electronic equipment), and I'm immortal. Nothing can kill me thanks to my 9 lives! Sorry for the poor sap who has only 1... We might meet face-to-face in the Wolfulair, but maybe one day. Once I finally shed my human appearance (That I have since I'm staying on planet Earth), and we can finally bury the axe about the Wolfulites battled the Sphynxians in that great war in the 1700's. Who knows, maybe I'll might review "The Howling" with you once I reach my 2nd Season! If I make one fucking review! I'm still working on my script, my episode list, and my characters! Fuck! Anyway, love ya work! ;)
It’s disappointing that this movie failed, we were robbed of a chance to see “An American Werewolf in Rome”, where we could have had a historical reference into the she-wolf that suckled twins Romulus (the founder of Rome) and Remus.
Haha I didn't see end with the ghost of the dad and the baby scene when I first watched this long ago. The ending I've seen numerous times years ago was the Statue of Liberty jump haha
Yes finally another review. found your channel about a month ago, watched evrey review within the next few days. This is a great channel and i really hope u stay motivated to keep making vids cuz im quite invested at this point. Keep up the amazing work man
I just thought of something Alex from the original American Werewolf had 7 lovers & didn't get pregnant but she allowed herself to get knocked up by David. Did she skip a pill or something?
I can't believe I missed that bit of info it makes sense how Sarafine became a werewolf David had a love affair with Alex after his death she got pregnant. Then after David's death she left London & went to live in Paris & gave birth to Sarafine.
Several exterior scenes, like the initial train-ride and the scene where the ghosts are giving exposition and being hit by a bus were filmed in Luxembourg and not Paris, France. I grew up in Luxembourg and actually saw the scene being filmed when I was 17.
the setting of this movie was great. it makes sense that the werewolves would find abandoned places to hide, lure and kill their prey. the sewer maze gives off an eerie feeling and does actually create a bit of a gothic horror feeling. the movie was by no means perfect but it most definitely deserves a view or two.
Finally someone that isn't delusional and doesn't think the CGI in Jurrasic park is still amazing. Sure like he said, they do a great job at integrating it but people mistake the amazing practical effects like the T Rex animatronic as CGI.
A movie with two guys looking for potato chips maybe involve a supernatural element or creature and kinda make it cheesy but entertaining I think I'm coming up with another troma movie.
This just occurred to me Dr Wolfula I know you're not a ware wolf but would they be related to you you know both ware wolves and wolfulites being wolf based races or species ( not sure how it works here)
I didn't read the whole title and thought you were reviewing An American Werewolf in London. I'm still intrigued and love your reviews too much to not watch the rest of the vid

The stupid thing about the bungee scene is that the guy falls faster then the girl, which is impossible.

In a movie where people turn into werewolves?
The original will always be the best, tbh.
Of course! Was more creepier too.

Actually the Statue of Liberty ending is the original (at least shown on TV). I've never seen the baby werewolf eyes ending until now.
"Chris Gets out" Dr. Wolfula predicts the plot of the movie Get out.
