If you look around, it seems like almost every Big VFX or Game studio is seeking and hiring talents from developing countries nowadays. Not only that, but they have taken it a step further by opening studios there in Places like India. For example, Dneg has 3 studios in India among 7 of its total studios.
So, I couldn't help but wonder, why is this the case, what are the secrets behind this practice, and how this is affecting CG artists in Europe and America, for example?

This video forgets to mention the most important point: a boss can easily "fire" an outsourced company from a third world country. This is very hard to do in especially Europe. Even threatening someone with firing them in EU can be a crime in some countries. But, one can always cut the connection with a 3rd world country company and hire a new one in 5 minutes, as there is huge competition and there is no one to defend the hired company's rights. Also, a boss can easily demand more work, like 15h/day and the outsourced boss will gladly whip their workers for the EU/USA boss. The very same boss, who is slaving the 3rd world company, can not even loudly express his/her thoughts about how the slaves should work 15 hours a day because it would be another crime.
You can mention only Europe. Because in America firing is very easy, almost like firing a third world company.

I think any digital job will eventually go to India or similar countries unless you really really standout.
Like there was definitely a problem recently with Marvel VFX cause the people working on their projects were just not enough, thus VFX artists were overworked while outcome still being mediocre.
So only solution is to increase the number of people working on the project, but that will increase the budget of the film massively.
so the only solution remaining is going to Country like India where you can literally double/triple the people working on a film and still be under budget.
We will just boycot those products.

do you have any idea how much GDP India makes by exporting software and digital services, you mentioned what Marvel is doing but didn't mention what Microsoft, amazon, google, and every product and service company in Silicon Valley has been doing for decades.
how could developed countries be called developed countries without third-world countries and their services? maybe in the future Africa might also provide services more than mines and minerals who knows i usually like this channel for topics like ancient sofweres and blender addon offers and other cool news stuff... but ... I don't know man this video feels a little under-researched

Its because the same reason apple and other big companies do the same. / Cheap cost , its easy to get finalcial beneficts from this kind of Explotation . India do the " same " work for less money
I have worked with 3D artists from India and I was not happy with any of their level of quality. It could have been the studio that was used but it wasn't great.

$7/Hr is not the standard price. But people get paid even less in India in the VFX or CGI company.

Definition of the third world country is poor or developing countries. Countries that are part of the “third world” are generally characterized by (1) high rates of poverty, (2) economic and/or political instability, and (3) high mortality rates.these are all the characteristics of India.

However as the third one only included poverty stricken countries it kinda became a useful word if you want a reason not to go somewhere for a holiday.
