Breathtaking performance -- it just doesn't get any better than this. Fiery vocals, propulsive rhythm guitars and amazing acoustic lead. I remember being blown away by the Strange Fire, Indigo Girls and Nomads, Indians & Saints albums when they first came out. And those albums still sound as great today as they did then -- I've been listening to those a lot over the past year. One of the greatest all-time acoustic acts. This is how it is done.
Fantastic job recording this solo! My wife said I was playing my guitar before I even knew who she WAS! The internet has been spreading my miracle around the world, as my mom called both of my brothers and told them to hurry down to Southern California if they wanted to say 'Goodbye' to me beFORE I die! "You brother had a brain aneurism, and has been passed around to 3 different hospitals. The neurosurgeon at Torrance Memorial, Dr. Smita, said, "Your husband is having a brain aneurism, and he's going to die, unless he has this procedure done by my mentor, Dr. Vespa, the famed neurosurgeon at UCLA Medical Center." Another neurosurgeon somehow found out about this strategy, calls my wife, and said, "I've been practicing medicine for 25 years, so I know what works and what doesn't work, and that procedure by Dr. Vespa will EVER work!" My poor wife responded, "I'm certain you know more about this than I do, but we don't seem to have much of a choice!" Well, the procedure DID work, but for the rest of my life, I'm going to be quoted fro what I said when the medical staff at UCLA saw me open my eyes after 4 weeks in my coma, look at the weeping woman at my bedside, my wife of 17 years. When they asked me if I knew who she was, I responded, "I'm not sure who she is, bu I think I like her a lot." (Of course, I had no idea that I said this!) Disappointing to see which of the older tracks they chose for this show. Galileo, Least Complicated, Closer to Fine, all the best-known ones which are already on 1200 Curfews. They didn't choose songs which would really put the new band through its paces; I thought Dead Man's Hill would benefit from a band with an accordionist in it, for example. This must be the fourth version of this song they've released and it's barely any different from the one on 1200 Curfews, where they promised it would be the last one.
This just makes me want to relive the 90's.
