Thank you to the Hoppe family for posting this. This was the first trap shooting video I ever bought (I still watch it from time to time), and his clinic was the first clinic I ever attended. I learned so much from Frank. He was such a gentleman. Left us way too soon.

Since watching this video about 10 times, I’ve broken through my plateau; shot a 24, 25, and 24 at practice today. Previously plateau was 23. TY.

Frank knew a lot about Trap, but has the mental nomenclature backwards. The conscious mind does those things that he attributes to the subconscious. The key is to align the conscious and subconscious in purpose, which he does cover quite well for the era this was.

Frank was a friend to many. Not just during trap shooting. I hunted ducks in his blind, had a good time then would go to his duck blind and lunch after shooting in his cabin on the river.

I was also lucky enough to hunt with Frank and my dad at Frank's place on the river. He was not just a great shot and hunting guide...he was an amazing teacher and as you said a friend to all.

I believe in this video he is using his Perazzi TM-1 for singles/handicap and his Perazzi Comp 1 O/U for doubles.

Not really sure if a two eye shooter has any advantage over a one eye. I done both , try it. Keeping your cheek planted on stock thru out the shot as you focused on bird is very important and you can do that shooting either way.
    Very good video tho

I shoot right hand but left eye dominant what should do to fix my problem thankyou

    • @trapshootertv2610

One thing you can try, is to put a little speck of tape on your shooting glasses that obscure the bead from your left eye. You can also try starting to shoot left handed but that can be difficult for a long-time shooter.

I believe he's referring to the 'leading edge' of the target. So for left angle, this would be the far left edge.
