- The late 50s and early 60s were a wild time over at Gibson - from the release of the Flying V and Explorer in 1958, to the Firebird and Thunderbird in 1963. What we have here today is a first-year Firebird III in completely original condition! A beautiful mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard, mini-humbuckers and that ultra-cool Firebird tremolo system. This one even has the original case as well! Today we're pairing this beauty of a guitar with a beautiful (if modern) 2007 Vox AC15H1TVL - a 50th anniversary hand-wired AC15 with a single 12" speaker all wrapped up in a sleek mahogany cabinet. A fantastic little combo with plenty of juice for many applications, and that classic Vox tone that has stayed true since 1947! We've got Aaron Hiebert on the demo and this little amp running quite hot, so crank up the volume and enjoy!

What a pair-that is a TONE! Amazing. Excellent demo, and playing. Beautiful guitar and sweet amp!
This is why I watch these videos. dude seems genuinely happy to even have that guitar in his hands. makes me smile swell :)
That’s the best tone I’ve ever heard
Outstanding sounding Firebird 3 ,my favorite year .Using the wraparound makes it come alive even more..
Nice to see Aaron change it up a bit . It's biting tone sells itself . Dave Mason Steve Winwood and of course most famously Johnny Winter made good use of these rare finds .Great job
Brian and Keith had Firebird VIIs, never could find one,,unique sound, unique guitar.
This video almost had me raising my cigarette lighter in the air. Firebirds always have a very unique sound - not your typical Gibson.
Tom Petty and Mike Campbell used to bust out matching firebirds live on a few songs. Coolest thing ever.
I wanna see that
Great job showcasing the sound of this instrument
Nice to hear the snippet of Robin Trower in there!
Aaron SHREDS. That dude is a maniac!
I appreciate the way your shop lists the price at the end of the video. I hope to visit the shop some day to see where my LP 25/50 came from.
DAMN.... from the first note !🔥
Damn. That amp! Want!
that's a great combination!
The main riff is killer!!
I never liked humbuckers, but these sound awesome!
What is he playing at 4:34 ? sounds great!
not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my gf these days xD
@Finnley Elijah yup, been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
Jay great sounding guitar ,killer ! Aaron plays well too, nice Trower lick.My big question to both of you where is Johnny Winter????? Didn't mention Johnny, didn't play any Johnny licks except for the one bend. When a reporter asked Jimi Hendrix what it felt like to be the greatest blues guitarist in the world ,Jimi Hendrix said "I don't know ,go ask Johnny Winter" ! Johnny Winter is the big reason these guitars go for so much cash .So Jay ,if you hear a disembodied voice yell "Rock N Roll" tonight while you are sleeping, you'll know why.Aaron check out Johnny Winter's "Progressive Blues Experiment",some of the coolest foundational Blues Rock solos you can ever hear IMHO.I worked with Johnny Winter twice in Pittsburgh,he was a real gentleman, and deserves a mention.
Eric Clapton played a Firebird I, a 64 iirc. I know it was the only guitar that played like his burst according to him.
It's weird it's got the toggle switch down where the red firebird sqiggle should be...
I looked it up and the firebird logo should be to the left of the switch but it probably worn off.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. And I hadn't seen one with a poker chip either.
It may have rubbed off but supposedly the early 'birds didn't have the logo on the pickguard

Heritage Vox sounds better and more VOXy than the actual Handwired series.
That Vox is actually handwired mate

Brian Jones
My vox doesn't sound like that......it must be broken .
It’s a wet dream...
Plactic input jack...VOX, wft?
Seems well bought @ the $15k
My fear of spending that much for this piece is that since the headstock/neck has never broken, it's long overdue to so.
digiwaves its a musical instrument don’t fucking smash it against the stage
made in China
This is disgusting. Y'all spoil us
